Taqueria Los Hermanos - Review - Tucker - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Nothing on Taqueria Los Hermanos’s ridiculously long menu will leave you starry eyed. But the Tucker restaurant is satisfying enough if you’re in the mood for Mexican and want to fill a to-go box with leftovers, like the unfinished sections of your giant California quesadilla. That’s because every dish is huge and could easily be shared by the whole table. Plus, sizzling platters of fajitas and tamales that turn your fingers orange come out of the kitchen at a sprinter's pace. The no-fuss place will be buzzing with neighborhood regulars—a fact that’s evident since the place is hidden away in a shopping center. Food Rundown California Quesedilla This quesadilla never skips a gym workout. It’s thick, a little greasy, and requires a lot of reps (read: bites). We like to get this with chicken because it melds nicely with the spinach, tomatoes, and melty cheese inside. Fish Taco Meaty strips of breaded tilapia are paired with typical tartar sauce. It’s not fancy or creative but it’s crunchy and seasoned (i.e. exactly what we need a fried fish taco to be). Pollo Taco The chicken is deep-fried and topped with lettuce and tomatoes. The sticky honey mustard drizzled on top gives the taco a sweet, tangy flavor that elevates the taco to tasty. Get this. Brisket Enchiladas The brisket encased in these corn tortillas taste like it came from a backyard BBQ. They skip the traditional rice and beans side and opt for rice with standard green beans, which is a bit of a letdown since their refried black beans are superior. photo credit: Juli Horsford Homemade Style Tamales The description on the menu says it’s “mama’s original recipe.” We don’t know whose mama they’re specifically referring to but she could obviously make a good tamale. You get one with chicken (it’ll leave your hands orange) and one pork. Both are moist and have a slightly spicy kick. But the can’t-stop-eating part of this order is the cup of black charro bean soup, so save room for that. photo credit: Juli Horsford" - Juli Horsford

Been eating here for over 5 years...food consistently good to great. Prices reasonable. Today I had burrito Acapulco .. burrito with fish fillet, grilled shrimp, scallops, calamari, red/ green peppers onions with a great sauce served with asparagus and rice . Great meal for about 21 bucks...you won't be dissapointed.

Purchased a Tres Leches cake for my wife's birthday, ordered it a week ahead because we were coming from out of town and I saw many recommendations online. Amazing cake, friendly staff and great atmosphere!

Google
We recently catered food from here for an event, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The food was absolutely delicious—flavorful, fresh, and high quality. We received so many compliments from our guests! The service was just as amazing: professional, timely, and super organized. Everything was clearly labeled and beautifully arranged, which made setup so easy. Thank you again for helping make our event such a success. I’ll definitely be recommending you to everyone I know!

Google
Another good chain Mexican restaurant. This one apparently is know for their brisket, which we unfortunately did not order. We had a traditional chicken burrito supremo and taco salad. Both were well prepared and the portions generous. Service was friendly and efficient. Nice atmosphere and bar. With two soft drinks and a tip we topped $40 for lunch….the reason for the 4 star verses a five.

Google
Jerado V is an excellent and efficient server. Always smiling, respectful and courteous. The food is excellent. Every time I come. I try different tacos, which they have a quite variety of tacos, and everyone of them is delicious. I have also tried other dishes in the menu and again absolutely delicious. The drinks are excellent as well and plenty. Also, there are Tesla chargers nearby, so, every time I charge my Tesla, I come and eat here whether for dinner or at lunchtime. I highly recommend this Restaurant.

Street tacos taste like dough, and i got corn not floor. One bit and it was trash. And i love some street tacos.. you can’t mess it up

Google
#truereview this place would have gotten 5 stars but, this is the usual subjective review based on my preferences... I don't like potatoes in my ground beef... I like my chips thin and fresh, and while the chips were fresh and tasty, a little thicker than I like. I opted for a taco salad with steak because of the potato/ground beef issue... The regular salsa was weak, but you can ask for the secret salsa... It's very good and spicy. The good was good and the service was awesome. No big crowd at 16:30, and plenty of parking. We shall return.

Google
Not an A1 Customer service was average, no complaints. Plenty of parking in a plaza. 0/10 Chips and salsa, chips worst I've ever had worst. 8/10 salsa 4/10 taco salad way too much water. Packed out however. Lacked flavor. Really basic. I barely liked the shell and thats rare. I'm glad I got refried beans on the side 🙄 See pics for yourself. I do not recommend.

Yelp
The way I found this place was a little random. I was scrolling through Reddit when a thread about the best Tres Leches in Atlanta caught my eye. Taqueria Los Hermanos was the top pick, so I had to see for myself. The first time I had Tres Leches was in Guanajuato, Mexico, so my standards are high. When I got there, I was hungry, so I decided to dine in. Parking was a breeze, which was a nice surprise. You won't believe me when I say the whole experience--from seating to payment--took 30 minutes, and it was flawless. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was seated right away, no reservation needed. The place was busy, so I wouldn't risk that next time. My drink order was taken quickly, and they brought out chips and salsa. My server, Carolina B, was an absolute gem. I don't usually go crazy over chips and salsa, but this batch was too good to ignore. I finished every bite. The only thing I'd skip is the iced tea. At $4, I expected something better, but it tasted like sweet water. Lesson learned--just get water. For my meal, I ordered the Mariscos Enchilada after spotting it on Yelp, and Carolina mentioned I could swap the salad for refried beans. Best decision ever. The food came out fast, piping hot, and packed with flavor. I didn't just eat it--I inhaled it. Then came the Tres Leches. I hesitated when I saw the chocolate drizzle because I'm a traditionalist, but it turned out to be incredible. The Redditors got it right. The bill was under $30, and checkout was quick. They also had someone bussing tables regularly, which I appreciated because I can't stand clutter when I'm eating. Everything about this visit was top-tier. I'm thrilled to add another spot to my short list.

Yelp
The food here is inconsistent. I have had entrees that tasted excellent. But also there have been times when the food (chicken) was spoiled. I've tried giving them a second chance. The last entree I had there was chicken enchiladas. The sauce was fine but they used fajita style chicken instead of shredded chicken , so it tasted off. I didn't care for the salsa that comes with the chips and salsa either. The Tres leches cake here is excellent though.

Yelp
3 stars because the flavor was good. We ordered 6 different tacos and the chorizo cheese dip. Unfortunately the tacos were dry. They gave 1 tiny container with onions/cilantro/ and 1 lime per box of 3 tacos! Very stingy (photo) lol. It came with 2 bags of chips that were extremely hard and greasy (photo). The chorizo dip was actually cold enough it congealed and had to be warmed. Everything had good flavor it just really needed moisture and didn't taste fresh.

Yelp
Authentic. Big portions. Good food. Fast service. I would definitely go back. Ambience - meh.

Yelp
Taqueria Los Hermanos is our go to for great Mexican food! The staff is super friendly and takes great care of you. There is plenty of room and have updated the decor and tables. The house and Texas Margaritas are our favorites! The soups are all so tasty (chicken soup, corn crowder, and the seafood soup). My go-to is the Chicken Ranchero Enchiladas, hubby likes the quesadillas and carnitas, and my mom loves the fish tacos and chicken soup. There is nothing I have tasted that I do not love. We also order their Tres Leche Cake for my birthday and Easter! YUM!!

Yelp
If you're in the mood for Mexican and find yourself near Taqueria Los Hermanos, it's an easy no-brainer to stop by. The free chips + salsa were a very nice touch. Who doesn't love free chips? I had the veggie enchiladas, which came with a side of beans and rice. The portions are generous and the flavors were good. For any vegetarians out there they do have some other vegetarian options, so no need to worry there. Friendly service, affordable prices, and quality food makes Taqueria Los Hermanos a winner.

Yelp
Indulge your appetite and leave completely satisfied! The generous portions and well balanced spices create the perfect combination. The chips were delightfully fresh, crisp paired with the salsa that was complimentary. For my main entree, I opted for the chicken burrito, which came accompanied by a side of refried beans and rice. Additionally, I couldnt resist trying the shrimp taco and treated myselt to tres leches as well. The ambiance of Taqueria is vibrant and upbeat! The host and staff were also friendly which added to my dinning experience. Discovering Taqueria Los Hermanos was the highlight of my day.

Yelp
Now I love a good Mexican spot. Taqueria Los Hermanos was super cute and very tasty! I loved their holiday decorations which gave it an extra good feeling. We were given chips and salsa - we were super hungry so we needed seconds right away, but it was also just that good! We also ordered guac...now, that's wasn't as good as the salsa - we had to add a bit of salt and the tortilla bowl it came in got pretty soggy, pretty quickly, but it matched well with the salsa and our food came out soon after. I ordered a steak taco, a veggie and chicken enchilada. My friend ordered shrimp, chicken and steak fajitas. I enjoyed my food, my only complaint was the steak taco had nothing but steak in it. Onions and cilantro accompanied it on the side, but I was hoping to have a little more like pico or something. My friend didn't care too much for the steak on her fajitas. I did have a taste and did taste kind of weird. She also ordered some hot sauce and they brought some out in salsa form which she didn't care for either. All in all, our experience was pretty good. They had a pretty extensive menu, so I'll definitely be back to try something else.

Yelp
Went on a busy Friday night and everything went smoothly. Fast friendly service. Great guacamole. Delicious entrees.

Yelp
Super fast & delicious. I love the black refried beans and veggie tacos. Service is always great and the food is even better

Yelp
Fish tacos are outstanding! They do things a little different from others so don't expect your cookie cutter Tex mex.

Yelp
Very solid taqueria located in the former Publix (now Crunch Fitness) shopping center on Hugh Howell Road. I have visited this restuarant for years any time work brings me to the area. You can't go wrong with any of their tacos, service is always good, and their food is reasonably priced. I appreciate a restaurant with tasty, fresh salsa and chips that are fresh and crisp. One day, I am going to have to come after work to check out their margaritas!

Yelp
I've been going to Los Hermanos since I was a kid, and it's always "slapped," so to speak. This time I tried something new and got one of their signature enchiladas dish. They're super generous with the servings , and everything tastes great. The interior is cute as well, and looks about what you would expect from a Mexican place in a strip mall (in a good way). The only possible qualm I had was that our server really didn't seem to want to be there. Also, I got a 20oz strawberry margarita and while it tasted great it had hardly any alcohol in it. Otherwise, though, food was great and we had a good time. Would recommend if you're looking for quality Mexican with big servings.

Yelp
Taqueria Los Hermanos is my go-to Mexican restaurant in Atlanta. I used to frequent the Lilburn location, and have been ordered from this location many times when I used to work nearby. My friend and I met here for lunch with our kids since this location was more convenient for us. This location is very similar to the Lilburn location in look, feel, and overall ambiance. The service was also fast and friendly, and the food is consistent! When I arrived, the place was busy but not packed. My friend was already seated with her two children. We ordered shortly after and food was brought out within minutes. I ordered shrimp tacos and my son ordered a burrito. We also got queso to share. Food was exactly how I remembered. Flavorful and generous portions. We always have a good experience at Los Hermanos and this was no different!
google avatar

Julie R.

Yelp
The cesina salad was delicious! It is gluten free and kind-of gourmet for a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. They could add a little more avocado and cheese to improve it, but I enjoyed it. My fiance said that chili relleno was okay but a little too rich. It's fried here.
google avatar

Teresa W.

Yelp
Excellent food. Anytime you walk into a Mexican restaurant and the majority of patrons are Mexican is a great sign of a good place to eat! The portions are large and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back again!

Yelp
Love the chicken soup! Ive ordered other items and they are good too! Service is top notch. They tend to yoi immediately with their delicious salsa and corn chips! On the weekends the place is hopping. Very festive do if you want a celebratatory ambiance with friends, family and co workers, i highly recommend this restaurant

Yelp
asada quesadillas and 2 asada tacos with flour tortilla 10/10 service 9/10 food 10/10 ambiance

Imani J.

Yelp
Food is good unfortunately I could not enjoy this time due to both servers on the side of the restaurant I was seated at failed to come and service me so I will NOT be back it's very unfortunate that couples came in after me even were serviced and me nothing so I will not spend my money where it's not wanted

Darlene R.

Yelp
This is our go to Mexican restaurant and Rosa is our favorite waitress. She is friendly outgoing and very attentive. The atmosphere is very celebratory. Chios and salsa are provided before ordering. I like the fajita quesadilla on two flour tortillas stuffed with grilled chicken, bell peppers, onions cheese served with guacamole, lettuce, sour cream and pico de gallo. My husband orders the burrito Mariso with grilled marinated shrimp and crawfish, onions bell peppers, roasted poblano peppers creamy sauce with rice. The ingredients are always fresh and plentifully. Recommend this for a great meal and you never leave hungry.

Yelp
I was hungry and in the mood for Mexican. Los Hermanos as good food, good service, and is clean. Worth your money and appetite! Peace!

Yelp
Meeting up with friends for my birthday, I didn't hesitate to pick Taqueria Los Hermanos in Tucker. We arrived, were quickly seated and had the same wonderful waitress we had on a prior visit. Food is always great, and although I could have picked one of their more authentic Mexican choices - since it was a calorie "free" birthday meal, I ordered their nachos supreme with ground beef picadillo. One word. Yum. I had the honor of having Happy Birthday sung to me, while wearing the large Mexican sombrero and we all shared a large (free) piece of Mexican cake. So happy that Los Hermanos was a part of my special day with my friends. I will be back!

Marlo R.

Yelp
Food marginal - service marginal ... I recommend Fritas in Lilburn 12 min drive from this joint and their health score better too.
google avatar

Doug J.

Yelp
Our go to spot for Mexican food. Tamales are excellent. Great friendly service. Excellent sweet tea. Recently remodeled. They have a Lilburn location My daughter has visited, my experiences have been at the Location behind Papa John's in the shopping ctr with what was Pubix now Crunch fitness as the "anchor".

Yelp
Ok-- so this review is based on ONLY their chicken tortilla soup. WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW I am obsessed! I only get chicken tortilla soup from here on nights that my kids have soccer practice down the road because 1)I am hungry, 2)it is usually chilly out and 3) I don't need to share! The soup comes in 2 containers- one with rice, chicken, veggies, tortillas, lime. The only container holds the warm broth. The broth is so flavorful that I could eat it alone, but pouring it over the toppings and squeezing the lime on it totally hits the spot. Seriously, now I want more.

Yelp
I have eaten here four times.... The first was lunch before the pandemic... I was not impressed... The food was bland. The salsa had no flavor and I thought the prices were a little high. The house margaritas are $12..... margaritas are $8 in much nicer restaurants in town.... I did enjoy the three dinners I have had over the years since then. Everything was agreeable. But last Friday night I was just disgusted by the food and the service. I ordered a Mexican beer - the small bottle, $5.75, and the waitress brought it in a small mug already poured. I am thinking "Where is the rest of my beer!" The salsa was tasteless and no one offered to bring me the red and green bottles of spicier salsa... No one ever brought me water, which was strange. I order a small cheese dip which was $5.75 and in a tiny dish. The cheese was really watery and ran off the chip before I could get it in my mouth. I was craving Chili Relleno and it came out very quickly... I know why.... The chili was raw and tough as leather with a solid hunk of cold cheese inside. The black beans were as watery as the cheese dip. The waitress never returned to the table to check on me, only to deliver the bill. I looked over the bill and saw that she had charged me $7.25 for the beer. I did not say anything - I just wanted to pay and get out of that place. The food is overpriced for the quality you are served, but the restaurant caters to a White and African American crowd so Mexican places like this always tend to be bland slop. They have four other locations so they must have customers that like their food. I cannot see myself going back for another meal at Los Hermanos.

Fletcher W.

Yelp
Solid Mexican food with solid prices and portions. Steak fajitas quesadilla is my go to but I know their enchiladas are good too. Their chips and dip option is affordable and they don't skimp on the portions which I appreciate. The Horchata is good too. The staff is friendly and attentive. I recommend Taqueria los Hermanos.

Beth C.

Yelp
Fantastic mojitos, the best margaritas. Excellent jalapeño queso. Authentic Mexican dishes AVS great portions!

Yelp
I've got to dine in twice now both times with coworkers! This restaurant can get really busy during lunch especially with the office crowds. Their take out line is also very hustle and bustle too. I only saw one table that can accommodate large parties so just be advised if you're 10+ deep. Most of the regular tables can hold 4 people comfortably. Taquieria Los Hermanos was voted the best Mexican restaurant voted by the AJC (Atlanta Journal Constitution), and they have five locations at the time of this review. My coworkers Elsy recommended the tacos. So that's what I went with. When I showed up my coworkers had already had some chorizo queso ordered (my coworkers asked me if I ate weird foods...lol..this dish is def not weird!), Heck it was different she taught me new dishes. Fresh salsa and chips were readily and refillable. I tried PASTOR: Grilled marinated pork, onions, pineapple, and cilantro with red chile-tomatillo salsa. CARNITAS: Tender pork with onions, cilantro, and green tomatillo salsa On the 2nd trip I had: ASADA: Grilled seasoned shredded steak, onions, cilantro, and green tomatillo salsa Note: I KNOW I'm greedy when it comes to food so I had four tacos. I couldn't even finish two lmao. They're quite big and stuffed. And too HAVE to get corn tortillas!! That's just me lol I did see they have homemade tamales and their enchiladas look legit! I'll have to come back and try everything else.

Nicole B.

Yelp
Excellent food! I got fajitas- yummy! Leslie was amazing! They got my order perfect and fast! Be careful they charge extra for tomatoes and cheese. 10/10!

Jessica W.

Yelp
Great service, food and the best Michelada! Our server, Isabel was so nice and attentive. Would definitely return.

K R.

Yelp
No one working here ever smiled or acted pleasantly. I did not feel welcomed. The food was okay - the tacos I ordered were mostly meat with no other ingredients discernible except some onions and cilantro on the plate. Chips were awful verging on stale, and the salsa had practically no flavor. Maybe other locations are better, but this one was seriously lacking quality and charm.
google avatar

Aaron A.

Yelp
Ate at this place with friends this past weekend while we happened to be in the area. The brisket in the brisket enchiladas were a little dry so that was a turnoff, but I could tell they would be better if not overcooked as the seasoning seemed to be pretty good. A couple ordered some special for 2 that came out in a big mortar bowl. While the meat that lined the bowl were good, the middle portion of what looked like chili, was said to be overly heavy and rich. They were okay with that dish. The carne asada seemed to be the best dish at the table.
google avatar

Danie P.

Yelp
This place is a delight. Good food, good portion sizes, fast service. My only knock is a bit of inconsistency on some simple mainstays, like the chips and salsa. My girlfriend and I order from here about once every couple of weeks, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Recommended!
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
Great food and service. Shrimp corn chowder is killer! Sometimes it's a little busy but worth the wait.
google avatar

Courtney M.

Yelp
Taqueria Los Hermanos was really good! They are open for dine in, but there are only a few tables open because they're doing it responsibly, amid the current pandemic. The (5 or 6) tables that open are really spaced out and I believe they're only doing up to 4ppl per table. Food: The salsa was spicy, which I loved. I had the steak fajita quesadilla and a side of rice. It was a amazing! It came out piping hot and well seasoned. The salad on the side was fresh. Friends ordered the shrimp quesadilla and they enjoyed it as well. They serve flavored margaritas in 16oz and 32 oz. I will definitely go back!

Ginger J.

Yelp
Food was fantastic! We had great service and the only thing bad is that they aren't located in our hometown in SC!
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Excellent cuisine. Enjoy your eats. We often meet friends here and everyone raves about the food served.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, is Tex mex so an American version of Mexican food, but was still good though recommend

Audrey B.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but it just wasn't for me. My family was sick (expect me) so I wanted to get them chicken soup. Found this place on Yelp and never tried them so thought this was the prefect time to try. I got them the soup one salad and myself the burrito arsda. The staff was amazing with getting my order to me and even how it was packaged. I just wasn't in love with the meal. The whole thing was a bit tangy for my taste. It wasn't bad like I wouldn't eat it...just personally I won't be doing back.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
The woman who brought our waters had ants on her hand and the water cup. And there was food stuck inside another cup. Needless to say, that was all we needed to see to get up and leave. Now after digging deeper, their health inspection was a 72 a year ago, I bet it's much worse now. Additionally, they have no lunch specials and their prices are double any other Mexican restaurant. Not sure why this place has such a high rating. We didn't see the appeal at all. All we had was the salsa and it wasn't even that good.
google avatar

Ann W.

Yelp
Basic Mexican. Nothing bad nothing great. They are spacing you out inside. I didn't really see great cleaning after guests left which is worrisome especially now. We ordered 2 carne asada with spinach enchiladas. Asked for medium rare and medium. Both came out well. Basic rice and black beans and ONLY 1 tortilla?? Confused over that we would have asked but no one checked on us. Waitress also forgot cheese on the side. We tried as one of our go out again places. Skip unless your starving. Again a 3 to be nice
google avatar

Jeffrey K.

Yelp
Outstanding! Best service! I recommend the California quesadilla!! This is a hard working team! Well managed. Friendly!!
google avatar

Yelp
Location: located in a shopping center next to publix Food: I ordered the trio fajitas, consist of shrimp, chicken and steak. The presentation isnt what I expected, when you think of fajitas it should be sizzling on a hot skillet..., mine was on a plate. The amount was less on a plate. Most of the fajitas were charred and unedible. The seasoning was good and shrimps were abundant. The chicken and steak was a little dry. The 3 stars is for poor presentation and dryness of the meat. Health: the staff wore mask and sit each diner 6 ft apart

Yelp
my most favorite mexican restaurant in the ATL! Every dish is delicious. the drinks are refreshing and the margaritas are the best. I have been a regular here since 2020 and I am glad I found this awesome restaurant.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. Always a delight to go there. Crowded, but service was spot on.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in Tucker. I've been there three times and never have had anything bad always consistently good get the hot salsa.
