Family taquería serving barbacoa, al pastor, and tostadas at approachable prices. Praised by locals for honest flavors and fast service; a great counterpoint to heavier chile‑smothered Pueblo staples.

Google
Hands down the best mexican restaurant in pueblo Colorado tacos were great fries were fresh and crispy and the service from these ladies is always the best 🥰🤌🏽

Google
The lengua tacos were bland and pretty cold. The California Burrito was unbearable, I could not continue eating. At least the rice was good. Would never recommend.

This is a great place to stop by and buy great food. We were beyond happy with everything we ordered. And I loved how they serve the sides with their coffee. If ever in the area again I will definitely stop here again to eat. This a must stop you won't be disappointed.

$17 for a handheld breakfast burrito and side of fries. Most expensive Mexican food in Pueblo.

Google
Fast service and delicious food. Standard menu options but multiple choices for types of meats - and they all were good!

Christopher Warren

Google
Love it! Have been coming here for years and have always had a great experience!

Google
The only place in town I go for delicious tacos asada! Also, the green chili plate is absolutely perfect.

Google
Best Barbacoa and tostadas in town... I am not the only person to say this. So much flavor and so tender... I would pay for the recipe... tried other places and always disappointed. Try the relleno burrito.... so delicious!!!!

Yelp
Excellent food. Definitely not your too salty or too spicy Mexican. Just perfect. Service staff also very friendly!

Joe G.

Yelp
Absolutely great tasting authentic Mexican food, cooked and prepared when you order, and the hands-down best "spicy" red or green salsa in Pueblo.! The building is simple and clean without much atmosphere but the delicious food makes this place all the difference. I would eat here every day if I lived closer and would definitely be here more often if parking was better and the location wasn't so shady. Unfortunately, 3 stars because of the area (not the business fault) expect to be approached and asked for money or cigarettes by persons down on their luck.

Yelp
We were driving through and stopped for lunch a few months ago. I'm still wishing we could have their barbacoa and al pastor closer to us!

Yelp
Very good food. I came for the caldo because a contractor advised me it was the best, however they were sold out for the day at 6PM, so it must be good. I got the Monday special of chicken flautas that came with rice and beans and my husband got carne asada street tacos. Both were great and their house made salsas are legit. Definitely will be back to try the caldo but will call first. Be forewarned that this is not a good neighborhood so park in the front on the street if you can.

Yelp
I guess you need to know what to order. The green enchiladas were so-so but the pork burrito was much better. Also, probably worth ordering the special of the day, there's a list at the entrance. I noticed many people were ordering the tamales (it was a Friday). They also have a really good Horchata for a very reasonable price. Other taco places in town sell it for double the price. The place is nice and clean too and even though it looks super authentic, it supports Apple Pay. The girl at the counter was very nice, and we got our order pretty quickly.

Yelp
Went here based on Yelp! and was not disappointed! Stuffed burrito and spicy burrito were great. Wishing they were near our hometown. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Delicious and well prepared Mexican classics. Well worth the short distance off the interstate. Menudo (Saturday and Sunday only). Delicious, spicy and full of good quality tripe. Served with onions, lime, and dried herbs. (They will bring you cabbage upon request). Try with the delightfully hot red hot sauce!

Yelp
Wonderful mom and pop place in a not so popular location. Many of the stores were boarded up but that didn't stop us from dining here. There's a handful of sitting inside. There was only one lady up front that handles the order, cleaning the tables, and brining our order. She was really nice and gave my kid a lollipop. My husband had the carnitas burrito smothered with green chili. He said it was flavorful and juicy. I had the tripe and asada tacos. There's not a lot of restaurants that offer tripa as an option but I love it ever since I had it in Mazatlan, Mexico. Tripa is basically small intestines of a cow or pig. The tripa were cut in small pieces, well marinated, and crispy. It came with diced cilantro, onions, and cabbage. It came with two different sauces, a red chili sauce and green chili sauce ( milder and sweeter). It was yummy. My daughter must enjoyed her quesadilla because she chowed it down. Overall, a wonderful meal and very affordable.

Yelp
I had two burritos smothered in delicious green Pueblo chili. Excellent taste and quality! I inadvertently left my cell phone and sunglasses on the table and the restaurant saved them for me. A classy, honest establishment!

Yelp
Amazing carnitas and asada tacos - friendly staff and nice clean booths. Loved it and will definitely be back next time I'm coming through.

Yelp
Very good food I would so recommend to eat here if you want some good Tacos! Once I'm back in Pueblo I'm definitely going here again

Carlos G.

Yelp
Great food when they don't run out! Placed an order by phone was told 25mins, drove across town, 15min ride there, went in paid for meals waited for 10mins then they came out and said they ran out of steak? That was 90% of the order they didn't offer a discount or any Concessions for this inconvenience very disappointing! Word of mouth is powerful thing.

Yelp
I feel really bad doing this, since I always want the little guy to succeed, but I feel like Yelp gives me honest reviews and helps me avoid the "not so tasty" places when I travel. I stopped in here right at noon and the place was very quiet. I thought it might be the location, since it's a bit off the beaten path from downtown Pueblo. However, one bite into my carne asada taco confirmed my worst fear...no bueno. The meat was super dry and tasted like it had spent a week in the fridge followed by a minute in the microwave. The guacamole on top was turning brown from sitting out too long. I managed to eat one of my three tacos before calling it quits. Maybe it was an off day for the place (Thursday), but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon to try again.

Yelp
We stopped here on our drive from Denver to Sante Fe and it was amazing. Small menu but big flavors. Traditional.

Yelp
A hole in the wall with amazing shrimp tacos, and the best chili rellano ever. Delicious green chili they smothered the chili rellano in with lettuce and tomatoes. A fantastic lunch.

Yelp
Great carne Asada tacos and a+ service!! Loved the horchata!! My husband ordered the tacos and went back for 2 more because they were so good!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is fabulous and the staff so friendly! The carne asada California burrito had a delicious smoky flavor hinting at barbacoa. The Chile Rellano burrito was peppery and oh so cheesey. That being said- the tomales were outstanding. All ritems were reasonably priced- very popular stop with local folks.

Yelp
I waited 1 hour for 3 tacos. Unbelievable I will never come gross not worth the money or wait. Never again smelled like dirty clothes to many people watching for there order to come up.

Yelp
Delicious barbacoa and some of the best horchata I've had. "Everything" on the tacos includes cilantro, onion and diced cabbage. The cabbage is a nice touch.

Yelp
Best tacos in Southern Colorado. The list of tacos is too long but my favorites are barbacoa and lengua! The food is served fast and courteously. The place is usually pretty full. They have a good selection of Sodas made in Mexico.......real sugar and no corn syrup! My taco place now!
google avatar

Neva S.

Yelp
Decided to stop in on a whim and get some tamales (6 for $7.50) and I'm so glad I did. My bf and I agreed they might be the best tamales we'd ever had. Moist and SUPER flavorful. The green salsa served with them is so perfect- tangy and a great spicy kick! Can't wait to come back and try their tacos!!

Yelp
Wow! This place is legit! Flavor leaping off the plate into your mouth. Amazing green chile, and even better red. Asada, buche, carnitas, barbacoa - fantastic. The ceviche tostada was awesome. Favorite item: enchiladas in amazing red. Parking is tough - look in back. This is an authentic, order & pay at the counter place. I will be back - like tomorrow...

Miguelangel F.

Yelp
I'm from Fort Worth Texas, I was starving after a long 10 hour drive, we stopped by and this place was amazing, los tacos del al pastor y la torta was probably the best in the menu!!! I'll be back here soon again!! Friendly staff as well

Yelp
For those used to eating at strip mall Mexican restaurants, this location will be intimidating. But please, get past that and get yourself to Taqueria Marquez. We were a large group of 9 and we all placed different orders just after lunch time. The service we received was polite and accommodating, our order was received accurately and our food came out quickly. The best part, the food was delicious. I would love to see this restaurant get more business from people passing through who just want a good, affordable, Mexican street taco. No frills, but a fair price, good service, clean restaurant and delicious food!

Drew M.

Yelp
you are allowed to stay open during this crisis. please reopen your doors. you all serve some of the best mexican food i've had. please reopen. please.

CeCe F.

Yelp
Street tacos way they're supposed to be prepared: simple so the super-fresh flavors can do their thing. I've been to gentrified, appropriated street taco joints but none have anything on Taqueria Marquez. Chicken tacos with cilantro & cabbage? Inhaled them. They shred then sear the chicken so it has most amazing crunch, without being dry. Hubby got barbacoa tacos & he's a tough customer, says he'll return for them. Service is terrific, can dine-in. Love it!

Yelp
Love this place! I wish I Knew better Spanish! Foods great!! Fast and affordable. Sodas are ice cold and the staff if very friendly!!

Garrett M.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Staff friendly and fast service. We just arrived in Pueblo and we wanted some authentic Mexican food. Fresh, tasty ingredients. We filled ourselves on "street" tacos and rice. The fresh sauces are delicious. I highly recommend for simple, tasty Mexican food.

Nicole G.

Yelp
Love this place. Authentic mexican food. Very friendly staff. The pastor tacos and tamale plate are my favorites!

Yelp
Carne Asada Burrito was really tender and the red salsa was actually spicy! Chile Relleno Burrito had perfect subtle flavors. I am picky about beans but they were good and the food was perfectly seasoned! We are excited to try new menu items next time....

Yelp
FABULOUS authentic Mexican food! Tacos al pastor, carne asada and barbacoa, and chile rellanos are best I've had!! And mom made excellent rellanos!

Chase D.

Yelp
Best street style authentic mexican tacos in town not even gonna cap. I've had street tacos in LA and they don't compare to this place.

Brian H.

Yelp
I've only lived in Pueblo for going on 2 years, one of the things I looked forward to in moving back to my birthplace was knowing there is great old school Mexican culture and therefore great Mexican food here. I grew up in California surrounded by amazing Mexican food and let me tell you 30 years later I've never lost the love. I have tried, and will continue to try, many spots here but to me Marquez is the go-to spot for a good taco, and they never fail. Other places sometimes you get that dry carne meat, barbacoa is bland it's a crapshoot Marquez has always given me good tacos.

Alex W.

Yelp
Decent, depending on the time or the day. At their best, I'd give them about 6 out of 10 rating. On the bad days, I'd give them a 1. Today, and many other times, the tacos were EXTREMELY dry, tough and bland even though I tried to add a bunch of toppings to make it taste better. So I'm disappointed. I've eaten here a handful of times, but it's only tasted good 1 of those times. So for that reason I probably won't be going back. One positive is that the prices arent bad. $1.75 per taco. To be fair, they might have other items that taste better, but it's a taqueria so I feel like their tacos should at least be decent.

Carissa S.

Yelp
Street tacos are perfectly simple and absolutely delicious. Best I've had in all of Colorado. Wish I could've taken home some jars of the homemade salsa, both green and red were great. I bought some tamales to take home for dinner later :)

Randy C.

Yelp
We are so happy to see this place open. They serve some of the finest salsa this side of Old Mexico. They have quite a few different items, but we can't help ourselves,we always order the"same old thing" Carne Asada burritos, try them and you will see why. The steak is never chewy, avocados are always there, rarely used around here. But please try a little salsa before you use a lot on your food, even the red, which is normally not quite as hot, will light you up,or as my husband says,"makes me feel alive"!! We will force ourselves to try something new and report back.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem of a place. No frills no bs just phenomenal authentic Mexican food!! The tacos (carne asada and al pastor) were FABULOUS!! The chili rellenos were as good as my Mommas. I highly recommend this place.
