"This Waltham institution also has a location in Framingham. Its taco special includes four tacos and a side of guacamole, making for a substantial meal. Select up to two different meats, or just go with four tacos al pastor. Taqueria Mexico is open for indoor dining, takeout, and delivery." - Samer Khudairi

Google
Quaint little Mexican spot serving absolutely delicious food. The beans and potatoes were perfectly cooked, and I loved the rich, cheesy filling. I went with their spiciest green sauce—it wasn’t as fiery as I was craving that day, but still full of flavor and really satisfying. The staff were super friendly, service was quick, and there’s a small parking lot behind the restaurant which made things easy. Overall, a wonderful experience and definitely a place I’d return to for great food and good vibes.

Google
Hole in the wall, authentic Mexican food restaurant in Waltham Massachusetts. Big margaritas with fresh fruits. Only 4 kinds of available tequila. Friendly, fast service.

Pamela Jones

Google
My son and I went there today for lunch and it’s probably the best Mexican food I’ve had in a very long time.

Google
I feel like I was robbed. The menudo was $16.75 for what was basically liquid. Barely any honey comb tripe (meat) and it was swimming. When I told the waiter it was "okay" (not a good response) , I was not asked why. There's almost always Hominy (corn kernel) in menudo and there was none present. The Birria was also water. Was tough to justify the bill for the portions; will not be coming back for this reason.

Google
Pretty good Mexican restaurant with very affordable prices! A few delicious vegetarian options, such as quesidillas and the vegetarian plate. Generous portion sizes as well. The service has always been excellent whenever we have eaten here.

Google
A nice place for Mexican food! The food is great. The portions are big, so come hungry. The drinks were also great! The staff was very patient and helpful. Great vegetarian options! I would definitely come back again.

Google
I really hate when I have to give a bad review. I have been trying to get food from this place and finally I did. I ordered nachos with asada steak, I said no onions they were full of Onions 😡. The nachos had no flavor at all. I also ordered tacos de lengua 🙄 also NO flavor. The flautas were ok. $50 + for food that I didn't eat. Never going back.

Google
we ordered a burrito and a burrito combo which came with enchilada and a spicy shrimp combo. Very delicious. The restaurant had wonderful decorations and had seating inside and outside.

Yelp
Flavors - 4/5 Textures - 3.5/5 Presentation - 4/5 Value for money - 5/5 Homey vibes with humble but incredibly flavorful food. Chilaquiles plate! HUGE plate of food for $13 - skirt steak with green salsa chilaquiles and refried beans. The beef and beans had fantastic flavors and textures. The chilaquiles lacked salsa and were a bit too soggy for my taste, but can't deny the flavors were spot on. Beef fajitas! Another perfectly tender beef dish that comes with sizzling onions and peppers cooked to al dente texture. The tortillas it comes with are corn and felt made from scratch with a nice char and strong corn flavor. Rice and beans on the side with some lettuce, sour cream and a bit of cheese. I wish it also had guac and pico de gallo since I needed something fresh, but great altogether for only $16. Service was awesome.

Yelp
I went with a big group of friends after church service and we all ordered some different dishes. Everything was pretty tasty and well-priced!

Yelp
taqueria mexico is a spot my family has been coming to for years and for good reason! off the beaten path of moody st, taqueria mexico is almost a hole in the wall restaurant that has welcoming staff and great food. you can't beat the prices here and i always am a member of the clean plate club here. it is very homey, no frills, and if you like seeing what your food looks like the menu is full of pictures. overall a great spot and i am never unhappy with whatever i get.

Yelp
We had a great time here on a Sunday night...off the main drag restaurant and delivers excellent Mexican food and had a pleasant ambiance with Mexican decor and music. Thankfully it was not too crowded, and we sat at a booth. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious.....am looking forward to returning to this cute place. The only thing I would recommend is that they offer a better selection of beer since they only carry limited Mexican varieties. Overall, highly recommend!

Yelp
Little mexican restaurant nestled in a little neighborhood in the downtown Waltham area. Swung in at lunchtime. And absolutely no regrets. I truly enjoyed their tacos. Their lengua was incredibly moist, and flavorful. Chorizo was also so tasty. Love it--one of my favorite Mexican places I've tried. Service was also exceptional. Staff was attentive and also very friendly. Will definitely swing through here again when I'm around the area. Cheers

Jeff K.

Yelp
Nice Mexican food spot with outdoor seating in spring summer. Huge menu for all kinds of tastes. You will leave satisfied as big portions. My picks: Quesadilla especial is great Mole verde chicken very good

Olivia K.

Yelp
I placed an order from here for take out, and it was quite disappointing. I'll give the restaurant a benefit of the doubt since the food probably could've been better had I dined in, but my tacos were not great. I ordered the chorizo and carne asada, but chorizo was so bland and carne asada was also flavorless and dry. Also, I understand that limes can be expensive, but they gave me 1/8 of a dry lime to squeeze on 4 tacos. Might as well not include it. However, the chicken taquitos were actually really good. Maybe there are items on the menu that are better, but I don't think I can recommend their tacos.

Julia M.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The prices and portions are very reasonable. I highly recommend the tilapia and mexican coke.

Mo B.

Yelp
Truly a home run The parking around the restaurant is decent. There isn't an actual dedicated parking lot to the restaurant but the street parking works just fine. The staff is really friendly and upon entry you're immediately greeted. The restaurant truly shows of the richness of Mexican culture along with the menu. Truly a beautiful atmosphere to be in. I got the Tacos Especiales which are 4 tacos with the meat of your choice with a side of Guacamole. The food did not disappoint! I will say there a bit of a wait although my friend and I were the only ones present in the restaurant. I blew through a bottle of Mexican and the complimentary chips & guac by the time my food had arrived and I'm a really slow eater. Regardless the of the pace I imagine the time that's dedicated to making the food makes it all worth the wait. I would definitely recommend giving this spot a try at least once!

Chris W.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Waltham! It has an extensive selection of various Mexican dishes. My personal (low-carb) favorites are the chicken fajitas and the chiles rellenos with picadillo. The chiles rellenos are exceptionally flavorful. The service could be a tiny bit more attentive, but it doesn't take away from the experience. I'm a big fan of the interior decor as a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint I'm used to coming from Arizona. Definitely recommend!

Sam M.

Yelp
I have visited this restaurant on several occasions - overall, it's not bad for what it is. I do think the menu items are fairly priced, and the food is ready pretty quickly. However, the ambiance isn't great - while it's nicely decorated and has a lot of character, I've found that we usually end up swatting flies away from our food. Other restaurants in the area don't seem to have a fly problem, so i'm not sure what's causing that. The quality of the food could be better as well. Most of the meat I've tried is very dry and tough. Other items are incredibly oily/fatty. Just not very fresh, in my opinion.

Chris L.

Yelp
This place is one of Waltham's very best. A large , varied menu of terrific, authentic Mexican dishes, and outstanding, friendly service. We keep coming back because we love this place! 5+ stars!

Yelp
This is the racist place I ever walked into! I sat in front for 10mins before they opened after ubering to this establishment. I heard the door unlock so I walked in & wasn't greeted friendly at all! They older lady look at me like I had shit on my face. I then asked her is it ok to place an order and how long would the wait be. She kept repeating " you want to place an order?" And I kept saying yes! So I see a younger girl and look her way & say yes can I place an order please! She walks past me with attitude and say u don't have to be rude! She was trying to to get u a menu! Mind you the lady never reached or was even near the menus in the front of the restaurant! So I say how was I being rude? She did t even walk over towards where u are to get me a menu! The ENERGY WAS VERY BAD! I felt very uncomfortable so I just walked out! I was gonna enjoy a spit taco cuz of the negative energy or "miscommunication" ( I'm visiting from California and I know East coast ppl can be a little unfriendly but that was just horrible & wasn't deserved! As a black woman I already get mistreated everyday in the world ! I just wanted to enjoy afew tacos ! The tension and attitude towards me wasn't wanted or needed! So I kindly left instead of feeling unwanted in there whole in the wall restaurant! SMH! Hopefully other ppls experience would be more kind ! I'm disappointed cause I truly wanted to enjoy afew tacos

Yelp
Very rarely do I write reviews that rate a restaurant poorly, but unfortunately this is one of them. My friend was visiting from out of town and wanted Mexican food; when we searched it Mexican on Yelp near Waltham, this place came up so we decided to go on a Saturday afternoon. Service was pretty horrible, we walked in and didn't get sat down for at least 10 mins. Then, it took a while for us to even get menus. Once we got our menus, it took around 15 mins for us to even been able to order; this should've been one of our first red flags to leave. Once we ordered, I got a jugo especial with birria tacos and my friend got an enchilada queso plate. The jugo especial was okay, and so was the free salsa and chips. I'm not joking, it took over an hour for us to get our food. We were considering leaving and just paying for our drinks. Once we got our food, it came out so cold. Not even warm. My friend ended up throwing up because of how cold the food was after eating it and I felt sick after eating my food. The soup of my birria tacos seemed as if they just microwaved leftovers. I ate maybe 1.5 of my 3 tacos and my friend didn't even eat a 1/3 of their food before throwing up. The tacos themselves were chewy and overcooked. Even if we wanted to send back the food, no one came to check up on us to see how our food was... the service was actually one of the worst I've experienced in a long time. A table next to us, also a couple, sat down significantly after us, got their food before us AND was able to pay before us. The vibes were not it. I asked for the check and our server said okay, but really he never brought it to us and we ended up just walking up to the front counter and paying. I was shocked that there were plaques saying Best Mexican Restaurant in Waltham for the past 12 years hung behind the counter, because there's so much better in Waltham. I don't recommend coming here to anyone, and I probably will never come back again. Seriously, consider going somewhere else and avoid coming here.

Yelp
Chill environment, we went for dinner and left when they closed. Great spot to hang with friends. I do wish there are more parking spots available, street parking was packed and the back parking lot had small spots. Besides an order was was a mistake, everything else was good. Food was delicious. Lots to choose from on the menu. If I had the chance, I'd definitely come back again! Complimentary chips and salsa is a plus too!

Judy M.

Yelp
Tasty food, generous portions, quick service. We ordered takeout online and the food was ready when we arrived. We very much enjoyed our meal.

Alee L.

Yelp
Does it get any more authentic than having menudo on the menu, and no, I don't mean the boy band Menudo. Good Mexican food is hard to come by, and I found this place by searching for food delivery places since I'm working from my brother's home and at the same time helping him out with his new baby. What a delight! The food is delicious. I got the taco salad, and the best part was the taco shell was still crispy when I got it. There were plenty of bright and colorful veggies, which looked like a fiesta, and the beef was seasoned and cooked nicely. The caldo de pollo soup was flavorful and full of huge chunks of veggies and a whole piece of chicken thigh and drumstick. I would have liked some avocado because that would take it up a level. I even got the beef burrito. This is a riceless burrito but the beans were creamy and the beef was tender. I had to hold myself back from eating the whole thing. Maybe next time I'll request to have some rice added to this burrito. If their food tastes good when delivered, I can only imagine how good it is if I dine in.

Amanda L.

Yelp
I am a very big fan of this little spot. So cute and quaint and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. I'm a fan of the al pastor tacos. It's one of my go-to taco joints.

vickie w.

Yelp
Used to love this place for tacos, menudo, enchiladas, but took a friend there after a few years away and wow... it's changed. Maybe they were having an off night or maybe it's because they were too busy. We ordered al pastor and lengua tacos, menudo, chimichanga. The al pastor did not taste fresh, the lengua was mostly chunks of fat, and the tacos were tiny whereas I remember the portions being huge before. The menudo was alright, but they didn't give us enough tortillas, when previously (here and everywhere else we have menudo), there are plenty of tortillas and we don't end of finishing them. The service was friendly but super slow. They were dealing with a lot of takeout orders. This place is definitely more popular now, but unfortunately the quality has gone way down.

Benjamin K.

Yelp
First off, the Yelp info for this is inaccurate, as it said "Closed" while I was physically sitting in the restaurant waiting for my meal lol. On to the review, this has simply become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants since moving to the area. In a random area of the town so not everyone knows about it. The atmosphere of the place is great, with lots of Mexican decorations and art all over the place. The service was great each time I've been. They have a comprehensive menu of pretty much everything you could want. I love to get a carne asada taco and pork tostada, plenty for a dinner, always flavorful and filling. Highly recommended!

Isabel H.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday morning and the waitress added 18% to orders to go. I was doubled tip because I didn't noticed at first. Check your bill before paying! The food was really good, fries and kids options were good, my favorite meal is Nachos con todo.

Dinesh G.

Yelp
One of my best finds for authentic Mexican food in recent times. Ordered chicken soup, quesadilla, chorizo tortas, Pollo al cilantro and Harchata. The food was delicious and very flavorful. It has been a very long time since I had nice delicious authentic Mexican food. The tortas bread was perfectly warm and the chorizo melted in my mouth. I personally like the Pollo al cilantro, the cilantro sauce was a bit spicy and added a nice kick to my taste palate. On a nice cold day, I would recommend their soup. It is loaded with veggies and chicken and the chicken broth is delicious.

Bo L.

Yelp
I LOVE Taqueria Mexico. I've been going there for years. Good, reasonably priced authentic Mex. Nice folks and friendly service. Plus, there's (limited) outdoor dining when the weather permits. An easy 5 (five) stars!

Lori Y.

Yelp
Came here at 8 pm on a Friday night. The restaurant wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. But unfortunately the wait staff seemed to be short staffed, as we had to wait 45 min for our orders to come out! We shared an order of nachos regulares and I had the Plato vegetariano. The nachos were just OK. They did not have salsa, guacamole or olives. The Plato Vegeteriano was a huge portion. The beans, rice, and quesadilla were very good. The poblano pepper was falling apart and the guacamole wasn't great. I found the ambience to be a bit cold and unfriendly. But I did like the Spanish music being played. I wouldn't go again mostly because of the long long wait. Might be better for takeout.

Emily C.

Yelp
Atmosphere and service was good. However, the food was not good and the torta was really dry and tasteless.

Peter C.

Yelp
This was a dine-in experience, but going forward I'll only do take out. Here's why.. PROS: Great food. Tacos were tasty. Good choice of proteins. Ample hot sauce to bathe your tacos in. So good. CONS: 18% gratuity added to the check with no verbal indication. And after the card is run, there's a blank spot for gratuity... not "additional gratuity"... but just gratuity. So I usually tip 20%, but if I didn't check the bill I could have paid 40% tip. That's just annoying and here's why... 3 tables filled. 3 waitresses. One took the order and then... nothing. No drinks. No water. Nothing. She was doing other tasks like refilling hot sauce. So ANOTHER waitress came by and asked if anyone had taken the order. This was 15 minutes after. So yeah. 18% gratuity and you can't keep track of your one table? So yeah, not all the impressed with the service. Also, they gave me a fountain coke and I saw someone else get the bottle one, which I wanted. How about giving me a choice if you're the waitress? Really felt like I was inconveniencing them. I ordered a coke and tacos. Don't consider myself a challenging table to service. I guess if you're getting that 18%, why bother trying. Overall: not coming back for sit down service. No one cares, and the music is so loud you can't flag down your waitress without getting her eye. It would be fine if service was good. Glad the chef does a good job. The food was worth take out.

Barrett F.

Yelp
Quick, and really good authentic Mexican food. Will definitely be back! (The kiddos in the group loved it too) and the futbol match on the tvs kept everyone happy.

Ray J.

Yelp
Place was great! As authentic it can get! This will be my go to Mexican in Waltham! Oh and their margaritas are enormous and tasty!

ells w.

Yelp
Give the address to 'Siri' she'll get you here...I tried and got lost because of the one ways. Park on Moody and walk in. Happened on this place back in the 90's ... same look, feel and food ... Mexican. Authentic right down to the wait for them to realize OH, these are our guests and they want food! They put down their phone, pick up the homemade chips and salsa- and an extensive menu for a restaurant three times their size. They have 9-12 tables and 3 MEGA TV screens in one large room plus fair weather tables outside. Once you've ordered -'wisk' and they're back in the wait station huddle. Not the most attentive, but the drinks arrive ... all is well. Margaritas and sangrias seriously Mexican! Huddle breaks and the food rolls out. The Mexican Plato and an assortment of tacos...all good, warm-not hot. The rice 'to die for' star of the meal, next to the drinks. Had they been more attentive we would have ordered another margarita and desserts. When I finally got someones eye contact, they send over the check lady who asked how was the meal. I pointed out - it was great but, I didn't know I was finished. It's a language thing...the huddle is in Spanish - the customer is in English. Practice conversations with your customers ...they would like to hear from you ...not the least of which, to order more food and drinks.

Mark C.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst dining experience we have ever had, I'll be brief. It took over an hour to get a drink, but of course the food came first then the drink because according to the waitress, they had to make the drink first I asked for a small plate for my fajita she was surprised, she said you have Ibig platter in front of you with your food..The shrimp were frozen and mushy. The peppers and onions were watery and cold and overcooked;as I write this, I feel sick and about to throw up. finally when the check came they applied 18% tip, so we inquired and she proceeded to tell us that's what they do now it's legal, and after further research, we found that it's not legal to apply an 18% tip for two people dining in a restaurant we asked for the manager And we showed him the proof of the 18% discount we explain this to the waitress who told us they can Do that. There was another check on the counter without the 18% ; she told us that was a different customer..no kidding!! Finally if you're over 60 years old, I would advise not going to this restaurant because the waitress/hostess will be lyou threaten to beat you up. Last one, the waitress explained that apparently we knew more about the service business and we should apply for a job because they had openings, so if you are in search of a job and crappy food, you should check this place out.

Doug T.

Yelp
Did take out. The chicken burrito was really good but the carne asada tacos were dry. Parking was limited but the wait was not bad for a non fast food restaurant will try again but will change my selection

Sejal K.

Yelp
As a vegetarian I was excited to have a few options for burrito fillings. I got the potato and added guac for extra and it was just bad. Zero flavor in the entire burrito and the potato itself is literally just a cooked potato with no seasoning whatsoever. This was worse than Chipotle. Highly advise against the potato burrito but I truly don't see how any other veg filling would be any better with such a bland base to begin with. Even the guac tasted like nothing. Just extremely disappointed for a $15 burrito and you can find sooo many better options in the area.

Tiff L.

Yelp
Easy to order, quick service, and delicious food! We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday to order takeout. The staff was masked up and hand sanitizer available by the door. The staff took our order and the food came out in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the Carne Asada Burrito, Pollo Burrito, and Nachos. Both burritos were delicious and generously stuffed with the meat, cheese, and beans! The nachos weren't as crispy by the time we got home but flavors were great! Pricing is reasonable and would definitely be back!

Martha C.

Yelp
GREAT chicken mole. Such memories of New Mexico. Would have given five stars but chips were a little stale.

Howie H.

Yelp
we popped in here for a late lunch on sunday around 2:30pm. a few tables were occupied so we sat down for dine in. the weather was great so we asked the waitress about outdoor seating and we told no outdoor seating. although when we finished our lunch, a couple sat outdoors, so we were kinda like wtf. we ordered the chicken quesadilla, lamb soup, and fiesta plate. we were informed the lamb soup would take about 15 minutes. we tried to order two mexican cokes but they were out. we really liked all the dishes. the flavors were perfectly balanced and nothing was under or over flavored. the lamb in the soup was very tender. what was suppose to be crispy was crispy. fresh chips and salsa are brought out to you when you first sit down. we're happy to finally stopped in here and are excited to try the rest of the menu in the future. parking is street only.

Alex C.

Yelp
The few is good but kinda basic. It's very inexpensive though so that is a pulse when you get the bill. The service is good and it's nice to sit out on their patio on a nice day. This was our second time back and we will go back again next time we are in the mood for Mexican

Tony M.

Yelp
What a nice little restaurant... The atmosphere is great! The server, Alexa, was even better!! You have to try the tacos de chicharron. They were so good!!! The chips and salsa were also great! My wife loved the Mexican Coca Cola!

Alex G.

Yelp
Very nice Mexican restaurant, somewhat hidden from view. The space is a bit cramped, both inside and outside, but the food more than makes up for it. We had beer micheladas, and the classic Margarita, both were very well made and tasty. To eat, we had a tamal, a bowl of menudo, caldo de res, and the combination of steak, chorizo, and pastor tacos. Everything was delicious with a very authentic Mexican taste. The service was good, but could have been a bit friendlier. They charge for the second serving of chips, which I'm not opposed to, but they didn't mention it when we asked for them. Finally, the bathrooms, although very clean, need a very serious upgrade.

Dante A.

Yelp
Supposed to be a chimichanga but I forgot to take a photo before. Food was so good I just ate and as you can see the plate is clean other than some extra refried beans and some salad leaves. 27/27 would recommend

Sherrin M.

Yelp
Came here during COVID and enjoyed patio seating. There was another couple on the patio and we were on opposite ends. Place was empty but they had quite a bit of people coming in and out for pick up and to go orders! Started out with some free chips and salsa - tiny little thing of salsa and it was pretty good! Wish they had a spicier version! We also ordered the beef chimichanga, pastor and chorizo tacos and the flautas off the appetizer menu. The chimichanga was DELISH. The flour exterior was so freaking good I'm pretty sure I could've eaten just on its own. Perfectly crispy and buttery and chewy. OMG. Inside was retried beans, beef and cheese. Simple enough. Came with sour cream, lettuce and a homemade salsa sauce to pour on top - good flavor not spicy. The tacos were also great. Was surprised to see that they offered a flour option- most places are just corn! Lots of flavor on the meat and the onions were sautéed, not raw. Also rare and so tasty!! Flautas were the only thing we didn't really care for but we did a combo of beef and chicken and it came with sour cream on top and some guacamole in the middle. Wish I had room for dessert because they had tres leches on the menu!! Our waitress was super friendly! Food was delish. Outdoor seating was a huge plus (there were probably 6 tables outdoor). Will be back!! There is street parking but it can get busy. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant - very tight. Will have to back in to park!

Soul D.

Yelp
If you want reasonably priced, good and authentic Mexican food in Waltham, this is the place. I had the burrito combo which came with a burrito, enchilada, rice and salad for only $12.50. My friend had the quesadillas. Both of our dishes came out lightning fast. The decor was your typical Mexican restaurant decor sombreros, soccer games playing etc. Service was good and attentive, but a tad slow. This place is probably the best bang for your buck in the area, as I've tried most Mexican sit-down joints in Waltham.

Andy S.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was fast and our server was a nice guy. It was a nice little Mexican restaurant.

Wern O.

Yelp
TLDR: great dine in experience I ordered this through DoorDash and it was just meh. But eating there the food was much better. Classic Mexican decor with a sweet little patio in the front. Food was great fresh with the best rice I've had. It's flavorful without being too strong. They also have a big list of Mexican style drinks. For example they had Mexican milkshakes (can't remember the name sorry!) which were excellent. Light and refreshing. Definitely would recommend eating here in person.

Lauren H.

Yelp
This place has a wholesome and fun atmosphere with wonderful customer service. Our food was yummy and came out in record time. Overall a wonderful place for Mexican food!

Chris P.

Yelp
Catching up on posting some reviews - this one is from mid-July: Visiting my son for his birthday and we went to his favorite local restaurant which just happens to be right across the street from his building. Chicken fajitas - great !fiesta Plate - great ! Modelo negro cold and tasty as expected and a large house margarita - perfecto ! And Gloria was an attentive server. Thanks !

Alison C.

Yelp
Taqueria Mexico is a favorite spot of mine in the Boston-area, and I try to stop by whenever I am in the neighborhood. The restaurant is not fancy by any means, but the cuisine is extremely authentic. On my recent visit, I ordered the Tacos Especial, which consisted of 4 soft tacos and my choice of 2 fillings. I opted for the chicken and mushroom varieties, as well as a side of guacamole. The tacos were thankfully wrapped with double corn tortillas, which helped minimize the mess. The guacamole side paired perfectly with our second basket of crisp tortilla chips. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Marc R.

Yelp
The staff and food are fantastic at Taqueria Mexico on 24 Charles Street in Waltham, MA. Prices are very reasonable. For Mother's Day 2023, this was my wife's choice. After seeing a "Somebody Feed Phil" episode on Netflix featuring Oaxaca (season 5, episode 1), we were happy to enjoy Rosa's family restaurant. I got a great dish (Enchiladas de Carne) with three beef enchiladas, beans, rice, salad, and dark Mole sauce. But I was looking forward to trying Mole again. My son got a delicious Presidente plate, and my daughter chose Tacos de Chicharron. Taqueria Mexico was the first restaurant we tried when we moved to the Boston metro area from out of state more than 20 years ago, and we continue to be loyal customers. The staff and service move the restaurant to a higher level. For Mother's Day, they gave my wife a complimentary rose. In the past, there have been Mariachi bands for music. Given the holiday, I boosted the tip on the bill; however, not paying attention, I added information and subtotal incorrectly, and the resulting total doubled my intended amount. Later in the week, though, I noticed that the restaurant corrected the error while reviewing my credit card bill. Next visit, we will need to tip extra in cash. Thank you for the great food and fantastic service. This restaurant boosts the quality of the neighborhood. Thank you Rosa!

Lisa D.

Yelp
I don't know where to start other than saying don't visit this place. The service is horrible. The waitress insulted me three times just for asking for our drinks and a plate AFTER dinner was served. She added 18% gratuity onto our bill without prior notification and said that this is the way they do it. That is not right! She told me she didn't want to go at me because I'm an eldery lady at 60 years old where I run five miles a day. Forget about asking for a lime in your Corona...that's not going to happen! She told me if I am so good in the service industry, I should apply for a job there because they're short of help and if I think I can do it better than her, I should apply. Tortillas were raw, tasteless and disgusting. The sour cream was liquid and warm. Shrimp and overal fajita dish was soggy and disgusting. We waited over 1/2 hour to be served and the overall experience was something that we'll never forget and will talk about at many dinner parties!

Yelp
We stayed in the Waltham area in Boston and came across this little gem by accident and boy did it not disappoint. Being from Texas we know pretty good Mexican food and this place came close. Thier food is great the staff was nice, there is parking out back so that was a plus since we had a rental and parking in Boston hard to find. We're definitely coming back to this place when we're in town.
