Absolutely incredible! The service and atmosphere were outstanding, and I’m so glad we decided to stop here. Being from the West Coast, it’s nearly impossible to find truly authentic Mexican food, but this place nails it. The staff were so welcoming and genuinely kind, and the food was flavorful with perfectly sized portions. I can’t wait to come back! Walking in felt just like stepping into the taquerias back home

I was recommended by a Puerto Rican Uber driver to dine here after we spoke about Taquerias in the Rochester area. This one was his favorite. I checked it out and I appreciated the recommendation. I had the Bistec Burrito with chips and salsa for lunch. It felt like a very authentic meal. I look forward to trying their barbacoa and pollo next time.

Excellent taqueria. I had a 5 taco meal with 2 beef, 2 pork (al pastor in taste) and 1 beef barbacoa. All were excellent and what I would consider classic street tacos. A very well stocked salsa and condiment bar with fresh cut cilantro, fresh diced white onion and multiple home made salsas and lime wedges to dress your tacos. I enjoyed the refreshing dragonfruit limeade with my taco plate which also comes with freshly grilled onions and cubed potatoes. It seemed for a few minutes I was transported to the Southwest where this type of late lunch seems to be readily available. Definitely a place to frequent as I love a good plate of street tacos. Most definitely recommend. Very nice owners trying to enhance the food atmosphere in Rochester.

I tried this place today for the first time and all I can say is that it is absolutely fantastic! These are without a doubt the best street tacos in Rochester. Authentic, delicious, reasonably priced. The condiment bar has everything that you would want. I will recommend this place to everyone. I will be back here many times in the future. This is a top notch spot. Try this place!

The loaded chips (nachos) are superb. I might get them without beans next time because I like a crunchier experience, but that is just personal preference. Their seasoned steak is moist and cooked to perfection. Seasoned but not overly done - really allowing you to taste all of the ingredients. Speaking of - you get to dress your own taco at the festive toppings bar. The owner and crew have a ton of pride in this place and it shows. You could eat off the counter. It’s a modern space with tons of room so you don’t feel overwhelmed. Neurodivergent approved with an easy to understand menu and low key vibe that is quiet yet festive.

Let's start with the basics; The restaurant is clean, bright, and has plenty of easy access parking on both sides of Culver, as well as the huge adjacent lot off Atlantic. Now for the food...I have only tried the loaded chips, what others would call nachos. All the ingredients were fresh, well balanced and tasted great, without being too salty! The chips are house made, fresh, and crunchy. There is a complimentary self serve salsa bar with numerous types of salsa, pickled jalapeños, chopped onions, limes, and more. Everything on the bar was full, fresh, and kept spotlessly clean. I suggest ordering a side of the excellent house made chips to go with whatever salsas you choose. I will certainly be returning to Taqueria Monterrey, and I look forward to working my way through the rest of the menu!

The staff was very polite. Amd the service was very quick and fast. They even let me taste test the special drinks. I forgot what the name of the drink was but it reminded me of Coquito haha. I also ordered the lunch burrito which was 10/10. My boyfriend also ordered as well! We definitely will be coming back more often! Highly recommend.

Completely and totally delicious. They make their own corn tortillas and the tacos are superb. It’s a real Taqueria. Homemade salsas are also completely excellent. The pork tacos were probably my favorite, but everything was great. Easily as good as many places in San Francisco and Austin. Highly recommend.

Don't let the looks of the place deter you from enjoying an excellent Mexican meal. The place is small with 5-6 tables but super clean with a great counter eating area at the windows. We enjoyed the tacos, quesadilla (both with a side of beans and rice) and chips/ salsa/guac. The bistec steak quesadilla was well seasoned and tender. The portion was very large. The taco dinner is 5 tacos. They can also be ordered a La carte. 2 tacos was plenty. The barbacoa was very flavorful. The trompo was good but paled compared to the barbacoa. The chips were crisp (not greasy) and some of the best guac we've had. Homemade salsas are available at the topping bar. This is our new favorite place!

This place is such a gem! New favorite Mexican food in roc. Authentic and delicious, the corn tortillas are incredible! Aqua Fresca & tacos just like in the food I had traveling in Mexico!
