Definitely a dive atmosphere but the food was excellent. The birria was fantastic and the fixings that come with it made it all the more authentic. I would have never found out stopped in without a direct recommendation from a friend but I will definitely be going back

I saw taco pictures from this place while looking for something else. I had to give it a try and it did not disappoint. The street tacos came with fresh cilantro and lime, the carne asada was tender and moist, and the avocado salsa was excellent. I also tried the quesabirria for the first time and think I found a new hangover go to. I’ll be back soon.

Absolutely amazing. The "Gobernador" taco, is a shrimp and bacon taco. Absolutely delicious. Well worth it.

The food os really good im not going to lie but im half black and my name is jose and everytime i come here i get treated weird and its funny because my entire family is from guadalupe and ive lived here my entire life [im 31] and i always feel like i have to prove myself when i pick up my food lmao do better but also yalls food is da bomb

Everything was fantastic! It's an untouhed slice of authentic Mexico. The salsa's were good and not watered-down like you find everywhere else. I'm glad we live close, and we plan to try everything on this menu. The staff was kind and the restaurant was nice and clean. *We ordered delivery through Uber Eats, and our food came warm, fresh, and delicious. It's nice to watch football on a Sunday and have Birria and Quesabirria delivered. **Dined in this time. Again I will mention that the restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. We had the Quesabirria with consommé, and Tacos de Cabeza. As usual, the food was very fresh and delicious. We love this place!

Fantastic tacos and huevos rancheros! The Mexicano taco has handmade tortilla which was so good! The only thing I’d call out was the radishes had black spots, so their quality was not the best

I’m on a quest to find the best birria in Arizona, and I’ve been wanting to try Obson for a while now. It’s situated on the main drag in quaint Guadalupe, so I was fairly confident it would be good. I ordered three quesabirria tacos and the birria consome, which at $14 is a little on the steep side compared to other birria joints. The tacos were good-sized with plenty of meat in them, although I’d prefer the corn tortillas to be more fried and crunchy and less floppy/soggy. At times they were so slippery I couldn’t hold onto them. But that’s just my personal preference. The consome came out boiling hot. Like crazy hot. Like so hot that I blew for five seconds on just a few milliliters in my spoon and my tongue still feels burnt as I write this review the morning after. The flavor was really good, but I had to wait about 20 minutes before I could enjoy it. On my universal 13 point scale of birria deliciousness, I’d give these tacos a solid 9. They were good tacos, loaded up with onion and cilantro and guac and a dash of lime, but they weren’t the best I’ve had. Definitely satisfying; not mind-blowing. Careful with that red salsa, that stuff is spicy! I may come back and give a burrito or something a try. We’ll see. But there are a lot of places serving up birria these days and, like I said, I’m on a quest. And to be honest, I don’t think it’s okay to charge $2 for a bottle of water from Costco. Literally never have I ever had to buy water at a restaurant in Arizona. I didn’t appreciate that at all. If you’re a birria fan, come by and give it a try and let us know what you think. Some reviewers said it was the best they’ve ever had, but it’s all subjective in the end.

There were two young gentlemen that served me and my family. Both were very kind and attentive. We ordered a few different tacos plus a few quesabirras with the consome. The consome was so delicious that my family was pouring some on their tacos. I was happy that could just drink it too. Some consome's are too sour but this one was perfect. I appreciate that the restaurant was clean and played Spanish music. We'll be back.

My new favorite spot for Mexican food in the area. Service was great and so was the burrito. Ill be back often!

This seems like a bit of a dive restaurant, but it is clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Some are bilingual, and some only speak Spanish. Many times, we are the only non-Hispanic people there, which I love. You know, the food is good and authentic. We haven't had anything here that we haven't enjoyed. By far, the best street tacos in town. They also have excellent cabeza tortas, as well as a variety of different meats for burritos and other dishes. We have been here many times, and I tried to go whenever I have the opportunity. It's a little off the beating path, but definitely worth a special trip to discover this gem.

HANDS DOWN BEST QUESABIRRIA IN AZ. I've been going here for a couple years now, and obson has consistently been my favorite tacos in Arizona. The asada tacos are also amazing; they have that charcoal taste without being too smoky. Their salsas are all delicious as well. It isn't usually too busy so seating is never a problem for me, the service is fast, and the place is clean. I will keep coming back!

What a disappointment. I was craving some carne asada fries. After searching through many places, I chose Taqueria Obson. I called in to order them on my way to work and requested that onion and cilantro be added. I arrived early, knowing those fries need to be eaten fresh, or at the very least open the container so they don't get soggy. Well, to my disappointment, there was not a single crispy fry in my dish. And it wasn't the kind of soggy that sat in a hot box. It was just never crisp, completely soggy, not even light brown in color. Like nearly white fries. And the carne asada looks more like ground taco meat and the onion/Cilantro wasn't added. All this to say it was a complete BUST!! I will never return to this place and don't recommend.

The first time I came here, they were closing for the day and told me to come back. It's been a couple months now & after a long day and craving sum tacos I decided to give this place another try. I After receiving my order and seeing the size of the tacos, I wasn't too happy. Tacos were both small and overly priced at roughly $4 each. The place had good reviews so my expectations high. Tacos had sum decent flavor, but it could have been much better for the price you pay. I really wanted to support small businesses, but this taco spot is not for me. It's a ONE and DONE. Only other place that I would recommend for street tacos at a decent price and with great taste would be Taco Boys.

This is my favorite local Mexican take-out in Guadalupe, very authentic Mexican home cooking style and not at all fusion or Tex-Mex style. I often place a Door Dash order for pick-up, and it's always great food and very nice friendly people. I have never dined in there, but they have a small number of tables and it is very popular for dining in too. We have tried most of the different tacos, burros, Sonoran hot dog, quesadillas. Everything is consistently excellent, but the show-stopper is probably their Quesabirria - this is SO good. Highly recommended!

Was in town for only 24 hours. Walked there for dinner. The food and the service were fantastic. I look forward to going back when I return to town.

My brother had been raving about this place for months. Definitely in my top 3 places for quesabirria. Ordered quesabirria across the table and split one side of consomé and it was SO GOOD. Plenty of salsa was available and our server was super nice and brought us extra radishes, onion, and cilantro. The best part is it won't break your wallet. Would definitely come back.

The tacos were delicious but the chipilona (sandwich) was fabulous! Our server( I did not get her name) was charming and very helpful! Great place to experience not-your-ordinary Mexican food.

So this review is way overdue!!! I had the best birria taco ever!!! We were just driving by ,, we noticed the people coming out were happy , we stoped to check it out , the smell of the food took us right in the door. It was over , we had to eat. The birria taco was to die for !!! With the juice , dip the taco.... Check it out!!! The people the food the service excellent!!!!!

Birria is delicious. The seafood tacos are really quite phenomenal. A true gem hidden away in Guadalupe!

My first time trying birria tacos, these were absolutely delicious! The tacos were cooked perfectly. Order them with the birria consommé, a rich and hearty beef broth to dip the tacos in. Horchata was also sweet and delicious. Service was great--you seat yourself and they take your orders at the table. Food came out in no time, with sides of onion, cilantro, radish, and cucumber. Salsas at the table. Ambiance was very casual, no frills. Just the kind of atmosphere you want to be shotgunning tacos in, if you ask me!

It was a pretty good place, but I really would only come back for the pastor and the consume for the quesabirria taco. And the cake. 1. Carne asada taco 3/5. Meat was kinda dry, not really as flavorful as I expected. 2. Tripas taco 3/5. It might have been better if it was crispier. I might consider asking them to get it more crispy next time. The flavor was decent though! 3. Quesabirria 4/5. Meat was pretty tender, pretty good flavor. And the consume was really good. 4. Pastor taco- 5/5. Meat was flavorful, tender. I ended up ordering two more then I was done with everything. 5. Chocolate cake 4/5. Good flavor, soft texture... but i don't think this slice was worth $7. Overall, I was pretty satisfied! I'd come back for the pastor tacos. And for $3 and a decent size? That works for me!

Obson: The Best Taco Spot in Arizona If you love hole-in-the-wall restaurants that serve unbelievably good food, you absolutely have to check out Obson. My roommate and I stumbled upon this place a few years ago while apartment hunting. We joked about going in, but when we saw the parking lot packed with cars on our way back, we decided to give it a shot. Fast forward three years, and it's still one of my all-time favorite places to eat. The Birria tacos here are simply out of this world. I've brought countless people to Obson, including all my co-workers last week, and everyone has been blown away by how incredible the food is--especially for the price. Honestly, if this place were closer to where I live, I'd probably be eating there almost every day. In a sea of inauthentic or overpriced taco spots in Tempe and Scottsdale, Obson stands out as something truly special. The food feels authentic, the staff is friendly, and the quality of the meats and tortillas is exceptional. This place has easily made it onto my short list of favorite restaurants ever. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out on something truly amazing.

The minute we walked in we were treated & seated. We ended up wanting to take it to go but not without noticing how clean this place was. We both ordered the barria tacos and man oh man are we glad we did! They were the best we have had so far! They send you with all the fixins and the consume was off the hook delicious! We also got a side of chips that were homemade is amazing!

Our family (and some friends) were in Tempe for a dance competition and our hungry dancers needed some quick food between sets ... TACOS to the rescue! This was my first visit and it was amazing!!! I ordered enough tacos to feed the troops and everyone absolutely raved about every variety...carne asada, pollo, al pastor--they were just great tacos. Not too spicy, but packed with flavor, and they came with a variety of sauces and veggies. This place is a can't miss!

Really good experience! First time in Guadalupe, AZ and was immediately transported to another country! Based on a recommendation from a coworker, kids and I tried the quesabirra tacos and some of the Vichy (consommé). Delicious! Being from the west side, we're used to myredtacos and their crunchy quesabirra tacos. They are closed until October so I'm glad I found this place!

The "mexican" taco was different - different type of steak? Not as good as other times

FYI, even though their menu on Yelp says they have menudo, they do not. However, as the youths say, their food "slaps," so I did not mind. I got: Birria (comes with tortilla) Asada, tripa, and cabeza tacos Lasting me for two meals. Delicious all-around. Ready in just a few minutes. The birria was so comforting and delicious. Tacos are solid. They are nothing mind-blowing, but they are good, and they come with onions, lime, sauce, and cucumbers on the side. Place is extremely casual, much like all the nearby businesses. Overall, an authentic winner in Guadalupe and I recommend.

Went out of our way to come here with some friends. Let's just say that a friend kept asking three separate times this past week what the name was to recommend it to others. Incredible service. Every item we got was incredible. Check it out! Reviews are right about this place.

First timer and it didn't disappoint! I ordered, carne asada, Al pastor and Tripa tacos. I gotta say, some of the best tacos I've had in Az. Anytime they serve you a dish with fresh cut radishes and cucumber (Pepinos) delicious. Salas: Red - spicy but not too spicy Verde - mild great flavor Guac verde - mild and delicious Do yourself a favor and mix all three of them. You will not regret it. Victor was really nice and hospitable! He asked if I was dining and dining out. I chose to dine in and he served me. Thank you. In addition, he recommended the torta ham, cheese and biria for my next visit. I'll be back on Tuesday!

My sister and I stopped by here after arriving to AZ and needed to eat asap. I've never had Mexican food before in AZ and decided why not give it a try. There's parking in front of the spot and coming inside, they have a lot of seating on the left side for big groups and more seating on the right side if needed. The girl in the front gave us a menu to look at so we didn't have to worry about trying to see the one on the wall. I ordered 2 quesabirria tacos and one al pastor. My sister got a mulita. I thought the al pastor was fine, a solid 6.5/7. I think it was missing some of the pineapple flavor i love that comes with most al pastor i have had. The quesabirria was a 8/10, probably would've been a 10/10 had i got consomé with them. Overall a solid place for a bite

I knew this was going to be a great meal when I saw the guy at the grill outside. It did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I was with a coworker who says "I can eat Mexican food for every meal". When the waiter greets you they bring sauce bottles of delicious green chile, guacamole, and red salsa. We enjoyed every bite. We had the asada, birria and Mexicano tacos. They were served with fresh cilantro and onions and fresh cucumber, raddish, lime and consume for dipping your tacos in. Honestly, I could not decide between dipping and not dipping everything was so good. I was drinking the consume uppppp! I even took home the left over consume to enjoy later. There are tables and booths although the booths are kind of narrow - if you're not, I would sit at a table. The atmosphere felt like I was eating at my Tia's house except I didn't need to help with dishes afterwards, haha. I grabbed a jamica on my way out. So refreshing.

In town for work, saw solid reviews -- Damn good Quesabirria tacos, with all the Fixins... They weren't greasy, seasoned well and tender! Great service , I came closer to closing and they were helpful & patient. Price point was excellent as well! Place was clean and had a great neighborhood feel to it.

No frills super authentic taqueria with some of the best tacos I've ever had . I live out of state and have been dying to come back to the Valley to get the birria and lengua tacos !

Amazing hole in the wall type joint! Quesabirria tacos were wonderful as well as the hot salsas served with them. Ordered takeout through grub hub and pickup was quick and easy, there is limited parking in the strip mall.

Best quesabirra tacos in Arizona ! First tried it this last weekend and we're already back for more ! I haven't tried anything else yet but everything sounds delicious . They also offer to go and grub hub delivery !

Everything I got here was bomb! I got a burrito I recall. The Tres Leches was delish and I got the candied mangos. I shared the candy with friends and they loved it. A bit pricey but worth it. They were closing when I went but the young man at the front was very friendly and helpful.

We stopped here after arriving in PHX on our drive to Tucson. We had no idea what a delicious experience we would have. The meal started with fresh cucumbers, radishes, and limes and three amazing sauces! My husband had the pastor burro and I had the asada. He said it was deee-lish-ous! Mine so yummy I literally said BOOOOO when I took my final bite because it was all over. Servers were all quick and super kind. Definitely give them a try!

I was looking for a nearby taco spot and Yelp guided me here. It was the closest place near our resort with street tacos. The menu has a lot of options to pick from, which I loved. Our favorite part was definitely the tortillas, you can tell they make them from scratch and we're delicious. I highly recommend the Sopes, they are a good size and fully loaded. The only thing we didn't love here was the tacos de tripa. Other then that service was fast which we appreciated. I do recommend to stop by if you are in the area.

Best Birria & Cosume I've ever had.... Went to Taqueria Obson for authentic tacos and it delivered just what we were looking for. I'd describe the ambiance as fast-casual (you order first), we ordered to go, but the seating options looked comfortable. The service was supreme! We got there 15/20 minutes before closing and the entire staff was friendly and did not rush us at all. We had a 20+ minute drive home and the food was still hot when I got home. I wish I had taken a photo of how intentional the packaging was. The consume was secure in the bag and did not spill. This was my first, but definitely not my last time at Taqueria Obson!

Food is authentic and very tasty. Prices are decent as well. The staff is kind and courteous.

I ordered the al pastor, birria, quesabirria, and asada tacos. I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. All the meats in my tacos were packed with so much flavor. I did prefer the birria and the al pastor out of all my orders. I loved how they packaged each tacos individually. I also got their flan, which was really good. I will definitely be going back to try other food items.

Great tacos are found here! Carne asada, Al pastor, Quesabirria, Cabeza. All are fantastic. The agua fresca come in big gulp sized cups and are one of the best. The flan dessert was not overwhelmingly sweet and more custard in flavor so two thumbs up.

My wife and two of our closest friends are on a taco crawl through Phoenix. This place was our second stop and it was amazing. We had live music. And the food, holy christmas, the quesobirria nd the mexicano was so savory and yummy! Corn tacos were very interesting as they were fluffy but still had the authentic corn texture and flavor. If you need a bomb ass tacos come to Taqueria Obson! Our server Daniella was was amazing as well! Thank you! The only thing we wish was better is its location! If this place were any closer it would be a regular taco spot for us!
