All I can say is that I should have gone to Taco Bell instead, worst burrito ever anywhere I've been in the states. Bad presentation, just the so-called burrito and a big slice of yellow lemon! No salsa,or "pico de gallo". I asked for jalapeños and carrots and was told that they cost money but they gave me some for free. Burrito,my gosh is bad. I paid $1.50 for cheese and guacamole. Still bad ! Three breaded shrimps the same they use for tacos, little rice, guac and cheese, not even melt. A very small portion overall in a big flour tortilla. A gas station burrito tastes better than this...I don't understand how they have so many reviews. THE ONLY HIGHLIGHT....HORCHATA WAS GOOD. One can tell when the cook enjoys the job,the lady look like she had to be there and get it done....food goes to the soul. I took only two bites and left...too bad The place was empty to add more salt to the wound.

Absolutely awful experience — do not recommend I recently visited Pico de Gallo in Tucson, and I can confidently say I will never be returning. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived around 9:30 AM. We were told many items on the menu weren’t available because they hadn’t been made yet—which we were understanding about and adjusted our order accordingly. But that’s where any hint of a positive experience ended. The cashier, Patricia, was rude from the start. When we asked to use the restrooms, we had to grab a key (again, not a huge deal), but the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. They hadn’t been cleaned at all—trash and paper everywhere, dirty toilets and sinks—and we were clearly the first customers of the day. If the bathrooms looked that bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. After ordering, we waited over 30 minutes for our food with no updates. Finally, we asked what was going on, and Patricia informed us the food had been ready, just sitting there. Keep in mind: we were the only customers in the restaurant. She had nothing else to do and still didn’t bother to let us know our food was up. When we expressed frustration (understandably), she was dismissive and rude, saying “that’s just how things are done here.” When we finally got the food, it was cold and borderline inedible. I ordered the birria soup, which I’d had in the past and enjoyed—but this time it was mostly fat, with brown, wilted cabbage on the side. It tasted like it had been made days ago. Truly awful. We asked for salsa, and Patricia didn’t even look at us—just pointed vaguely at a fridge and said “over there.” Later, when I requested to-go containers, she handed me dirty Styrofoam cups. I had to ask for new ones because the ones she gave me had remnants of drink on them. Absolutely unacceptable. Between the filthy bathrooms, cold and greasy food, and the astonishingly rude service, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend Pico de Gallo to anyone—it’s unsanitary, unprofessional, and the food simply isn’t good. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

Google
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to the person at the Comedy Bang Bang show last night who recommended this local spot. Corn tortilla tacos. The horchata is spectacular. Man, I wish there was a place like this near my home (and at such reasonable prices!!)

Google
Had the carne asada but meat was a tad overcooked. Rice and beans were pretty good. Nice work lunch and atmosphere.

Google
Delicious little Mexican restaurant! Easy to get to near the freeway. Great parking. There were some great murals painted and in the shared parking lot raspados were available. The restaurant had great selections on the menu including combo plates. We ordered barbacoa tacos and care asada burrito. Both had fresh flour tortillas and great flavor. The meat was very tender and full of delicious juiciness! I will definitely be back when we are on this side of town!!

Google
Had the Shrimp Tacos, waited 25 minutes for 2 plates with two tacos each. Was it worth the wait? YES, they are very good. Tortillas are homemade and everything taste fresh. Don’t expect anything fancy, it’s simple. Downer is they don’t have Coke Zero.

Google
This pains me to write. This was my go to Taco place for years, but in the last year they have fallen to the same grim fate as Guero Canelo and Tacos Apson, the tacos have risen to insane prices, they have shrunk at least 50% in size, 90% of the taco was toppings with only 10% being meat, and the service has gone downhill. I understand that times may be hard especially after their renovation after someone ran a car into the place, but this is absolutely ridiculous. When I came in earlier they had run out of masa for the corn tortillas which itself isn't a problem; however, they did not bother to inform us and let us know that they were gonna have to give us flour instead of corn. I really hope someone in charge reads this and brings Pico De Gallo back to its former glory. I want to make this my #1 again but until something changes this place is getting lumped in with the other greats that have fallen far from their pedestal.

Google
This review breaks my heart. I’ve been coming here since 1999. In town and it was right down the street from where I was staying, so late night cravings got the best of me. It was awful! Ugh. Just. Awful. I got the 3 fish taco combo plate. The best part was the rice, and maybe it just tasted like fried rice. The pico tomatoes were sour, like rancid old, I don’t know if you’d even call it pico. Diced tomatoes and a bit of onions, yes. The beans were burnt and dry. Like how do you screw up refried beans, in Tucson! I tried the beans on the tacos to give it flavor, but I had to choke it all down with the way too sweet horchata. Was it mayo drips as sauce on the tacos, I don’t know? What a disappointment and what a tragedy this place no longer has the vibrant flavors, distinct street taco flair I loved for decades. I shooed a fly away the entire time I write this in the empty space. The cashier was extremely friendly. The only plus. Counter service, you retrieve, you clean up. Tips prompted. 🫤

Yelp
Simple old school taco shop with amazing food and great prices . Favorite fast Mexican restaurant in south Tucson. Call in to avoid wait. Wheel chair friendly

Yelp
Food is absolutely phenomenal, and the service is above and beyond. Been going since I was a little kid and they changed up the store, but after all these years have not declined once in quality in food or service.

Yelp
Omg this place is soooo fiya. I love it TUCSON treasure Can't wait to go back shrimp tacos are the best I've ever had

Yelp
A taco shop with counter style service. The inside decor isn't the greatest and it's really a hole in the wall. The food was very good. I tried the cabeza, birria, fish, and asada tacos. The asada tacos needs a bit more salt but had good texture. The fish tacos needed more sauce because it was too dry. The cabeza and birria were both very good. I think this place could easily be a 5/5 with a couple changes.

Yelp
Yum! These tacos are amazing and the corn tortilla is the best. Plenty of seating and nice staff. The service was a bit slow but food was fresh when served. Pricing is a little higher than other places IMO, but well worth it.

Veronica R.

Yelp
Only on salsa, meat has no flavor, over priced, service is very dull, they renovated but the restrooms are absolutely disgusting, ring around the toilet, thick dust on the vents and toilet tank. Toilet paper all over the floor. Paint splatter everywhere. Its very bland. Will not ever ever ever going back again.

Yelp
Located on 6th Avenue with a decent parking lot, came highly recommended by the locals. Ate here at about 8:30 pm on 3/27/2024 Ambiance/Cleanliness- kinda dingy and dated. Clean-enough. Well lit, and maybe not a good thing. The layout of the place is a bit maze like, with uneven seating sections. Would definitely get to go next time and bring something to put the food in, 'cause they do the foil wrapped styrofoam plate thing. 3 stars Service-barely adequate. Not unfriendly, but not exactly welcoming. Was standing at counter waiting for over 5 minutes before someone came out of the kitchen to help. 2 stars Food. Got a lengua taco, a cabeza and 2 quesabirria tacos. Didn't really care for the lengua or cabeza as the meats were far too soft for my liking, prefer a bit of bite back. The quesabirria tacos are massive, the meat is delicious and flavor superb..but, it's a knife and fork taco..falls apart very easily. So, to summize, will get the quesabirria taco to go! 3 stars
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
Not your normal taqueria, because you can get exceptional battered fish tacos and quesabirria tacos! We took the food to go, and ate it about 15 minutes later. While the tacos were still delicious, it wasn't as crunchy as if we ate it there. Fish tacos were nicely battered, fresh and juicy! Husband gives it 5 stars. Quesabirria is the ultimate rich and heavy tacos, loaded with cheese and birria and onions, cilantro, and consume on the side. All around delicious food for good value! Fish tacos were $3.50 each and quesabirria, a little pieces but very filling, for $5.25. Husband says this is the best thing he ate during our long weekend in Tucson!

Yelp
Was recommended by a facebook friend for lunch. It didn't disappoint. The mojarra tilapia plate was so good.. Don't let the head and bones deter you from great flavor. The restaurant looks like it had recent remodeling so it was very nice and clean. It's a walk up and order/pick up place and the cashier was helpful.

Yelp
Went here on a tip about great happy hour special on tacos and was not disappointed! Fast service, clean restaurant and delicious cheap tacos! Try the salsa, adds to it. Will definitely go back for other food and more happy hour!

Yelp
Taco Puco De Gallo is a hidden gem. the homemade tortillas are amazing! their salsa is hot and flavorful! the shrimp tacos are delicious. I haven't tried anything i don't like.

Yelp
In short, I went in off peak and was disappointed by the dry meat that tasted like it had been sitting all morning. I was hesitant to write this because the staff was friendly, I'm guess family owned and I went during some of the slowest hours ( I was the only customer ). I stopped in on Friday afternoon around 3 pm excited for the last torta I have before I head back out of state. So I picked up a chicken torta and two carne asada tacos. The service was good, the gentlemen was friendly and I got my order to go. I wolfed the tacos down as soon as I got back to the hotel... but I could tell immediately that the carne had been sitting for hours. Completely dry almost not worth eating. Then I moved on to the torta, and I just couldn't finish it. Everything was dry (meat and even the bread was disappointing). This place has great reviews, so I bet if you catch it during a busy period it's great. But I hope the business learns and improves.

Yelp
Best tacos I've had in Tucson. Horchata is the truth too. Tortillas are great. Hole in wall and totally worth it.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
I ordered three tacos: quesabirria, camaron and barbacoa. They varied in price, but it added up to $12 plus tax. The quesabirria did not come with the usual dipping sauce, but it tasted good. The camaron would have been OK without the mayonnaise or tartar sauce. I liked the barbacoa. There is no table service. The ambiance is purely functional. All in all, it was an OK meal, but I've had better tacos at many other places.

chelsie O.

Yelp
Service was relatively quick and the staff was friendly. The restaurant is decent size and has places to sit. The burrito overall was pretty good, the main concern is the lack of filling. I had more tortilla than fillings. I also didn't like that the cheese was not distributed and cold. I would give this place a second chance, but now way ordering a burrito again . For nearly $11, I expected a bit more

Yelp
Since I moved to Tucson, I've been eager to visit and try the fish tacos. I made it a priority today because someone at a concert last night recommended Taqueria Pico De Gallo highly. The technicolor exterior of this place is reassuringly inviting. I ordered the tacos, a horchata, and strawberry raspado. The raspado was perfect and the scoop of ice cream on top had a rich vanilla flavor. The horchata was just as good with a potent punch of cinnamon. The tacos surprised me. The tortillas were thicker -- almost like a flatbread. The tacos were lacking spice but still good. I guess I'll just have to go back a few times to really know how much I like the tacos here. Meanwhile, there are other items on the menu. -- breakfast items, too -- that I'd like to try.
google avatar

Becky M.

Yelp
The fish tacos and horchata are THE BEST I've ever had. Maybe they put crack in them? Haha. The fish tacos just melted in my mouth. The quesadilla was very tasty too. I'm here on a road trip and I definitely recommend eating here! Super nice staff too.

Tanya K.

Yelp
I was raised on Sonoran food so when I was visiting Tucson I was excited to enjoy some. Hugely disappointed with the claggy, rubbery fish tacos. The toppings were super yummy and the tortillas were chewy and delicious. But the fish was largely inedible. I was expecting a crispy, light batter with a flakey, fresh white fish. No luck. The beans and rice were passable, the hot sauce was tasty but volcanic. Overall, I was left sad. Don't ever make the mistake of trying to get away with a sad excuse for a fish taco. People know.

Brendan A.

Yelp
Filthy inside. 6:30pm on a Friday and no rice. $29.00 for some tacos and beans. Inflation is killing even Mexican taco places.
google avatar

Meeks C.

Yelp
A must try if you're in Tucson! Each time I come into town I have to stop to get their food. The tacos are so good and you get a variety of meats. Beware of their hot sauce because it can be hot, but it's sooo good and addicting lol. They have a pretty big menu and my goal is to try everything on it, eventually! I got a dessert item this visit, a pineapple raspado with vanilla ice cream and it almost had me in tears. The only thing I would say is the rice is not the greatest. It's not cooked all the way. But other than that, no other complaints. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to my next visit already!

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in Tucson. The food is always excellent and authentic as what I order in Sonora Mexico. I come weekly

Yelp
Tucson food adventures!! My mom said "let's go get tacos, i'm craving for good tacos!" I knew the place. But, let me just say good is an understatement.. I had my eye on this bookmark for a minute while looking for food adventures in Tucson. We stopped by sunday evening. The restaurant is a small simple store front, you can't miss the yellow! We came in and the menu was simple- easy to order. My mom got two birria tacos and two chicken tacos with flour tortillas. The meat, veggies, pickled veggies, salsa, lime - (catching my breath) had so much flavor, texture, with the homemade flour tortilla was soft, thin yet crispy shell of a taco. Same went with my asada taco. Probably the best I have tasted - ever. On to my meat/cheese (carne asada) quesadilla, so freakin delicious. The tortilla was fresh and hot, the melted cheese smothered my asada and kept the crispy tortilla together. The quesadilla was so perfect, the flavor is indescribable (it's not your typical quesadilla). The most authentic tasting tacos, and quesadilla we ever had. The seasoning, flavor profile is nothing we have ever tasted before. It was not oily and heavy Mexican food. It was perfectly amazing.

Yelp
After the building getting hit by a whole ass car , they're still up and running stronger than ever! Great food , amazing service, people ought to be more grateful before complaining about anything other than the food. This is real Mexican culture on the south side this isn't fake Mexican food with a funny restaurant name with servers and wall decor They're making the most out of what they got and that's more than enough to satisfy me !

Yelp
We found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. What a great find with plenty of parking. The ordering was easy. The food was delivered in a timely manner, clean tables for the interior seating area. We had a little bit of everything, and the food was outstanding with the right spices at the right locations for the right reasons. Prices were reasonable. I will return as necessary.

Margaret K.

Yelp
Service slow and spotty Ambiance Fine and basic Food The Tostada was tasty and filling. The Pico de Gallo Fruit was a total disappointment. It's one of the items that has drawn me in over the last 20 years. This time, it was unfinished in a frig for me to take after I paid. I asked for the lime juice squeezed on it and the sprinkler of chili powder. I was given a small container of what appears to be Tajin, another container of some unidentified red liquid, and lemon pieces wrapped in foil. It's now a do it yourself item. I juggled all the parts and pieces and brought them home. The fruit was a spear and a half of fresh tasty pineapple and a couple of lovely spears of watermelon. The rest were multiple spears of rock hard mango. I can't tell you how it tasted because I didn't want to break my teeth to get a taste. The mango was ~60% of the entirety.

Rafael R.

Yelp
hospitality is none existent, the tacos are bland, there is no salsa bar to, no soda fountain, the hot salsa is to hot for the average customer and order taker acts like he is bothered to be taking orders. If he is only sitting taking orders why present small kiosk with amounts of tips to be considered. In short the taco stands or food trucks will be more appreciative for your business with tastier tacos.

Janeen E.

Yelp
We did a taco tour and visited 4 restaurants. The tacos were good but not my favorite. The tortillas were really good and seem to be handmade. The dining area was nice and clean. The service was good and fast. The pickled carrots on the side were tasty.
google avatar

Karla M.

Yelp
This was an amazing lunch experience although in a 110degree eating outside...phew! None the less the food was great, staff so attentive and the place was clean! I can see a hacienda food galore happ'ng here soon!
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
Best Shrimp Baja Tacos , I loved the lengua and cabeza tacos . I almost forgot to share my flan with the hubby . Service was excellent and although they are in the process of renovating they have a clean kitchen and over all ambiance
google avatar

Alicia Z.

Yelp
Prices for the food does not match their wall menu. I got a cabeza burrito which was $8 on the menu but when I checked my receipt, they charged me $11 and the cashier could not give me a reason why there's a discrepancies except "that's what the tablet says". When I started eating the burrito, it was definitely not even cabeza meat, but barbacoa. Overall, very disappointed and definitely felt a little scammed.
google avatar

Diane R.

Yelp
Oh my! This is truly a jewel! The food is outstanding and very affordable. We went for lunch and it was quite busy. The flavor is indescribable and a holy grail of delicious. It is newly remodeled and a bit more spacious now, but the same family runs it and the food is still top notch. It is nothing "fancy", you order, sit down and wait for your order to be called. Very comfortable and fast.
google avatar

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but I need to give a bad review because my brother and I got sick. We were on the way home from a 2 week road trip and found this place, ignored Yelp's health rating of 41/100 and went in. We ordered fish taco platter and carne asada platter. They were good portion and looked good. The chef had no gloves on and she grabbed red plastic cups and scopped ice right out of the chest. I was a bit weary of that but didnt think much of it. After we had the food, my brother started to have diahrrhea about 10 minutes after he had the food. My sromach wasnt ferling well but the womens bathroom was dirty with sink clogged smelling like someone threw up so we left. We pulled over in less than 30 min at the outletmall where I too had a diarrhea and threw up. We had an 8 hour drive home and we had to pull over 3 more times to deal with our sickness. Looking back, the food was served in room temperature which could have been sitting like that for hours.
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
How this place only has 4 stars is beyond. Excellent tacos, excellent prices and excellent horchata. Maybe I'm slightly biased because the cashier also told me I'm handsome. Try the shrimp taco plate, you won't regret it. The birria tacos are also excellent. Green corn tamale as well. I'm sure most everything on their menu is good. Just go here and thank me later.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
Superb tacos! Located on 6th, this local joint is a small restaurant that serves delicious shrimp and fish tacos. There's also a selection of raspados to be eaten. Combo #1 costs $9.00. It comes with 3 tacos (fish and/or shrimp), beans, rice, and a drink of your choice. The jicama drink is sweet and delectable. The tacos are plentiful and crispy, with cabbage and sauces.
google avatar

Manpreet W.

Yelp
Was looking for a place to try Raspados and fruit pico de gallo while visiting Tucson. This came up in our search. So glad we went there. They we were out of fruit pico de gallo but tried mangoyada and mango Raspados. Absolutely delicious . Decided to order some veg tacos. They were bomb . Would definitely recommend this place.

Amanda P.

Yelp
They were so helpful with a last minute catering order for 30. Food was ready on time, packed up ready to serve, and super delicious! Thank you!
google avatar

Kendra W.

Yelp
We came here at the recommendation of a friend who had lived in Tucson. I got the pozole and a grilled shrimp taco; my husband ordered the chicken tortilla soup and fish tacos. We split chips, salsa, and guacamole. The soups were definitely the high point of the meal for us. Tacos were okay. Salsa and guacamole were bland. I'd be interested in going back and trying other items in the future.
google avatar

Elvira A.

Yelp
One of the first taqueria's I enjoyed coming to with my nana before passing. Not only does this place make amazing food, they've helped make amazing memories which I continue to come back. My go to order is the Ceviche Tostada, Carne asada burro and 32oz of lip smacking horchata. Today I'm feeling the birria burro. I love coming here and never being disappointed, at times there may be a wait but it's totally worth it!
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
This is clearly a local favorite. It's traditional Mexican. Don't expect any Tex mex here.
google avatar

Fabiola B.

Yelp
Always happy to be back here especially when I forget about how amazing the hand made corn tortillas are. Inside there's plenty of seating to enjoy a nice cold coke and tacos.
google avatar

Ava G.

Yelp
I got the birria tacos, rice & beans. The birria tacos were good! The beans were delicious, but the rice.. it was inedible. The rice was extremely hard it was like I was eating rocks, sadly I had to toss it. The wait was pretty long about 40 min for 2 combos, there wasn't that many people. Overall I'd recommend the birria tacos & beans. I'd skip the rice..
google avatar

Richard J.

Yelp
I've sampled so many different tacos on my many visits to Tucson, but had never been to Taqueria Pico De Gallo despite several recommendations to go there. I finally found time to visit, and my conclusion is that while the tacos that I had (carne asada, chicken) were all-around good, they were not in the sublime category of several of Tucson's taco establishments. Same can be said for the strawberry raspado, which again was plenty satisfying, but a step or two below some of the others I've experienced in town. Still, I'd like to return and try their tortas.

Sabrina G.

Yelp
Been coming here for years with my husband and it has gone completely down hill. The service is horrible, they only had three flavors of soda and no rice and it took 30 mins to get our food‍!! I wish it was the place I came to in the beginning
google avatar

Jenny B.

Yelp
Had a great time here! The tacos were bomb. The carne asada was tender and the toppings were fresh. The quesadilla was a guilty pleasure. Cheese on cheese on cheese. Really cool spot for affordable and delicious food!
google avatar

Abigail A.

Yelp
What an awesome taco shop in South Tucson! I came here one chilly evening and there aren't heaters inside, so be sure to wear layers if it's a cold night! My friend and I ordered three tacos. I got the Birria, Cabeza, and Carne Asada. I would give the birria and cabeza 5/5 stars and the carne asada 3/5. It was a little chewy and overdone. The other two were super moist, tender and very flavorful! The plates come with some pickled onions and carrots, and if you like some heat, try their hot salsa! I got their champurrado, which is a thick cinnamon hot chocolate. It was a little sweet for my taste but did keep me warm. This is definitely a must try for amazing tacos for a great price!
google avatar

Alma C.

Yelp
Went in kind of late. The shrimpball soup was good. The tacos were ok- shell was similar to pita. Meal was kind of expensive. We asked for ground beef and they tried to appease us or tried to get rid of some fatty meat leftovers? Regardless, they should've just told us they didn't have ground beef. I took it back, and got shredded beef that was better. The flan was tough and had a red ring imprinted from the cherry after sitting there probably a day or two on the styrofoam plate. After a recommendation for this place, I had high hopes coming in. Unfortunately, I left unimpressed :/

Yelp
On the luckiest of visits, Mango juice is not to passed up. A Tucson institution!
google avatar

Ron R.

Yelp
Their respado game is on point. It came out quickly and was yummy, so this review is only for their food and the length it took to get the food. It was basically like going to a restaurant and waiting for the food and I'm not sure why they have their lobby shut down still. They might as well be a taco truck and I know taco trucks that had way better carne asada. It was flavorless. Even their tortillas didn't taste well. My wife's taco bowl salad required so much salt and pepper and we aren't talking about their guac either. It came way after the meal because they had to make it and it was also flavorless. I can easily make quac way better by simply adding some onion and garlic powder. They served my meal with a lemon! Come on now, a lemon???!! I also asked if they had pickled red onions and she said no but it came with them. It might be a language thing, but I would have ordered more to make my bland tacos better since they didn't even include salsa of ANY kind in my bag. The sad thing is, there were tourists and people that you know aren't from South Tucson much less Tucson ordering food from here and I felt bad that this isn't what Tucson Mexican food is. If you can't get carne asada right, how is all the other food going to taste??? Tucson is on the map for great food, especially on south 6th and this was a disappointment.

Gregorio A.

Yelp
Pico De Gallo has the best Mexican food I've ever had in my 65 years. The staff is great too.
