Visited on a Friday around 5:30pm with a friend, restaurant was a little busy with about 5 other groups ahead of us to order at the counter. It was about a 10-15 minute wait to place our order.
Food: Chips and salsa bar - complimentary which is always nice, chips were crisp and sturdy, salsa bar was solid with salsa verde, salsa roja, pico de gallo, pickled carrots
Al Pastor Taco - good, generous portion of meat, pork was heavily marinaded, topped with diced onions and cilantro, overall tasty wish the meat had a bit more char and a bit more pineapple for balance
Carnitas Taco - fantastic, also generous with the pork, nice and crispy, pork was well rendered, topped with salsa verde, onions and cilantro, super well balanced, favorite bite of the meal
Carne asada taco - good, also generous with the meat, steak was well cooked fairly tender garnished with salsa verde, onions and cilantro, simple but well executed could have used a bit more salt and seasoning
Cabeza super burrito - good, size was pretty large, burrito was filled with braised beef, sour cream, avocado, rice and beans, ate super rich and creamy, would probably go with a regular burrito and a protein that's not as soft, cabaza itself was tasty savory, and super tender fatty and rich probably better for a taco
Service was good, friendly and efficient. Food took maybe 10 minutes before our order was ready and brought to our seat. Water was self serve, staff cleaned up after we were finished.
Overall throughly enjoyed Taqueria San Bruno, definitely lived up to the expectation. All the food was good, the carnitas was excellent so definitely give that a try if you like pork. More of a 4.5 but round up for the generous portions.
