100/10 It was my first time here, so I just stuck with asada tacos.. WOW their meat was so effin good! And the tacos were massive, honestly I should have only gotten 2, I am stuffed. Their Jamaica was also super refreshing, overall amazing experience and the staff were so kind and friendly. I will 100% be back! Cash only

Delicious carne asada and al pastor tacos! Their salsa packs flavor and a decent amount of heat. Their sandia agua fresca is perfect to me; the right amount of sweet! The place seems a little run down and could really use a remodel. Music could really liven up the place. The service was friendly and the food was served fast. Cant wait to come back and try other dishes, like the chile relleno burrito.

They only accept cash, way over priced I ordered 3 chicken tacos for almost $20 bucks, over 5dlrs each. The tortillas were cold!! For that price I spectated something way different!!!!

CASH ONLY, Old and it definitely needs some tlc but it has heart. Great Burrito and Nachos. Pet friendly as long as you’re responsible, they didn’t have an issue with us but I’d say it’s a case by case basis. Definitely will come back. Reliable taste.

The best tasting meat you could ever try in your burrito, taco, nachos, you name it… best kept secret in the Mission. Cash only but so worth it every ingredient has its own sazón layering your dish with distinct flavors. If you are from the mission you know what I’m talking about more affordable than the other over priced spots price gauging on the customers because of gentrification they have friendly service always everything is fresh aguas are refreshing or have a beer and watch a soccer game they close by 8pm🙌🏽😋

A perfect joint if the category is "tacos like in the 80s". No frills but quality where it counts. Meaty tacos, fast friendly service. Plus 1 for the chips. Old school establishment with a good variety of meats including cabeza and lengua, which you don't find in gringo joints. To top it off I ducked in here when I had 18' to eat before a show at the Brava. I also knew I was missing the Germany v France women's game on tv but when it went to penalty tie-breakers they had it on! Customers paired off rooting for each team, great atmosphere and Germany won it 60 seconds before the show was supposed to start across the street. Magical.

I was running late for a show at the Brava Theater, so I decided to eat at this taqueria across the street because I figured it would be fast. I didn't realize how fast it would be. I ordered the tamale plate on the menu. They were out of tamales, any kind. I ordered the pineapple fruit drink. They were out of pineapple. (Incidentally, there's a restaurant down the street with a big sign reading "Tamale Parlor." It doesn't have any tamales either.) So I wound up getting a basic steak burrito and a mango fruit drink. I paid (cash only) and sat at a table and my food arrived immediately. Nothing came with it except napkins; I had to go up and ask for a fork. It was a standard Mission-style burrito, big enough but just not particularly good. It was dry and bland despite having salsa in it, and it was spicy salsa though I didn't specify. It could have used some tortilla sauce but that wasn't offered.

Best Taqueria in SF. My childhood Taqueria. Clean and authentic food. Best service, family owned. Old school they only take cash. NACHOS on point you have to ask for them with queso blanco ( shredded cheese). Taco are big very meaty they aren't stingy with the meat. Salsa's are fire. You can ask for some red salsa if you like it hot. They are so polite and fast. If i would be able to give them 10 stars i would. 10/10 Best Taqueria in SF

I was in the area today, was not planning of getting a burrito actually but I remember that out of the many taquerias I've been I have not been to this place. I've got the regular burrito carne asada which an order also came with tortilla chips, a tiny ramekin each of green salsa and pico de gallo. The burrito itself was average, not some of the best I've had in the city. the meat was too grounded up and no chunks of carne asada in the burrito to give the texture. Flavor was also under seasoned.

Best burrito EVER! There are obviously a lot of great taquerias in the Mission, and it would be easy to overlook this one, I'm glad I didn't. Even the chips they serve are exceptional!

Grew up coming here and has always been my favorite taqueria for a burrito. It's spacious and comfortable, their pico de gallo is good. Friendly service.

Wanted to try a new place so I yelped this location and found parking nearby. (Street parking only) This place CASH ONLY! Lots of seating inside. Wasn't busy at noon lunch time maybe I was early. Nachos ordered the chips wasn't good ( like Costco chips) I'm not a fan. And they used can nacho cheese which I don't like unless I'm eating at Taco Bell or the movies. Where's the real cheese and the fresh made tortilla chips. It would've been cheaper to order a burrito for $14. Nachos not worth it for almost $20.

I came back here for lunch and ordered another Carne Asada super burrito. The burrito was delicious and packed with flavors and did the job for lunch! Again, I wish the super burrito was a little more packed like some other spots but the flavor is definitely on point.

Super tacos are delicious here. The guys are always nice here and there's always seating available. They only take cash though no cards.

My friends and I got three carne asada burritos here. They had delicious fresh ingredients and very friendly service! Excellent vibes. Convenient location across the street from the Brava Theater. They are cash only but there's an ATM next door. Overall loved my experience here!

I had an al pastor taco and carne asado nachos. They were alright, i've had better though.

My friends and I did a little burrito competition at various places in SF and this one was definitely the best. We got a carne asada super burrito at each place and this burrito was just delicious. The meat had great flavor, the burrito was tightly wrapped with great distribution of ingredients. Is it more expensive than Farolito? Sure, but it's well worth it!

I ordered via Door Dash & asked for NO onions and cilantro on the side. The order came with onions all over it and NO cilantro. I had to pick out all the diced onions. Very disappointing.

Unremarkable so I really shouldn't but that's never stopped me. We were served the perfect quantity. We should have been, but we were not, served tortillas. Their lack, plus what we paid, makes this rather high-priced for nothing special.

Recently went to Taqueria San Francisco w/ some friends. We decided to get an order of chips & guacamole to share to pair w/ our burritos. The guacamole hit the spot as was a bit on the spicy side. I had the veggie burrito. It comes w/ beans, rice, lettuce, salsa, sliced avocado, & cheese so had it vegan by opting to leave the cheese off. Appreciate the sliced avocado at no additional charge. The burrito was quite alright. Also enjoyed an Agua de Pina (Mexican Pineapple Water) that went well w/ the burrito & chips. We all enjoyed our burritos & time here. Cash only!

Prior to my last visit, it had been a while since I'd eaten food from here. My dad works in the area, and in the past he has brought back some burritos a couple times. We both remember them as being ok, but inconsistent in flavor. That being said, I figured I'd return to try this place again -- it had been a few years. Walking in, I noticed a classic, simple setup: some tables, chairs, and a guy working overtime at the grill in the back corner. Nothing fancy, just how the locals like it. I opted for some tacos this time; though my favorite is usually carne asada, I'd been really craving some al pastor, so I ordered one of each. While I found the carne asada taco to be solid (albeit a tad greasy), I was pretty let down by the taco al pastor. Al pastor is defined by a little kick of spice, combined with the brightness of pineapple, but I found it pretty bland and unimpressive here. I had high hopes for the food here, but maybe I'd come back to try a burrito again? I've heard good things about them, but for now I don't feel an overwhelming need to come back just yet.

THE best taqueria you'll ever go to! Get the quesadilla suiza trust me everything on the menu is fire coming from someone who was raised in the mission this is def the spot to go to!!! Hurry

Ridiculous. Completely empty burrito place, go up and order a regular burrito with no onions and no cilantro. Pretty straightforward. I'm charged for a super burrito, and when I question it, the cashier tells me "you can see why on the receipt". He hands me the receipt and of course it says super burrito. I tell him AGAIN I ordered a regular burrito (with him, only moments before) with no onions and no cilantro. He then hands me two dollars back and acts like he's doing me a favor when he actually owed me more. I then get my burrito, go outside,take a bite into it and of course it's full of both onions and cilantro. I returned the whole burrito, got a refund and will stick to my local burrito shop. Lame.

Really yucky burrito. Tasteless and kind of soggy. Nice man running the place though.

Good. Fairly low key place. Not expensive but I thought the menu was a little pricey for certain items (up to $15) compared to similar taquerias. They've definitely priced up over the years. We had the quesadilla suiza with chicken, ceviche tostada, and a carne asada taco ($20). I enjoyed my quesadilla and they were generous with taco toppings and meat. Also it's cash only!

4 stars for yummy Mexican food at worth-it prices. (Still doesn't come anywhere close to San Diego's Mexican food, but it's good for SF!) I've tried the fish tacos, al pastor tacos, and al pastor regular burrito - all were decently flavorful and in good portion sizes. If you eat there, you can scoop on as much of their salsa as you want from the little containers. I wish the fish wasn't chopped into small pieces, as I prefer fish tacos with whole pieces of fish, but they were nicely grilled and quite aromatic. The chips that come with the tacos/burritos are possibly my favorite thing here yet! So fresh and oh so crunchy. I couldn't stop eating them even though I was pretty full already. If you get take out, you'll get a small container of guac and another of salsa to go with the chips as well. The people here are also pretty nice. It's super close to the SF General Hospital, so I saw quite a few people dressed in their hospital uniforms drop by to grab some food, and several of them were greeted by name or at least with an extremely friendly hello. Restroom is quite clean; open to customers only. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of their food!

One of the last true original SF taquerias left. This place is old school and in a good way. Don't get put off by the interior decor. Back in my day this is what all taquerias were like. This place has great food with quality meat. No slabs of fat and plenty of favor. Truly a hidden gem. I hope this place is around forever. Highly recommend a pollo asado burrito and super nachos with carne asada. Great staff too. They truly care about their work.

Yeah - they absolutely do not hold back here. This was the single best burrito I've ever had in my life, and it was literally about as long as my forearm. I didn't have a chance to take a side-by-side comparison photo, though, because I ate it way too quickly for that. Next time. In any case - go here, again and again.

This has become one of my favorite taquerias in the mission!! I grew up on La Taqueria (and lately their portions have gotten smaller but their prices have gone up so much‍) & El Farolito (just doesn't hit the same for me) and when I tried out Taqueria San Francisco I knew I found a gem. I usually get my super burritos with no rice and the juiciness of the meat with the freshness of the ingredients makes me fall in love with each bite! I've suggested this taqueria to multiple friends & each time they're pleasantly surprised with how it exceeds their expectations! I definitely recommend this Taqueria! P.S. their horchata is SO yummy

Keep in mind, I'm from Texas so my review will be bias. Per taco the cost is $3.50 This explains why the tacos are larger than the ones at home. They really pack in the meat. Each taco they add their salsa on top, and it's spicy I did not notice it was mentioned on their menu board, so FYI Places I've been to they leave that up to the customer to add. Also this place only had one option for sauce Red. Other spots offer red and green sauce (salsa). Service was awesome!! Would come back!

Delicious quality food! Only reason for the 4* is they only take cash. ATM next door, $2.50 fee. Their green salsa is so unique, the spiciness is amazing, fresh and delicious. It's worth the price of admission alone, HAHA. The gentleman, may be the owner, is so nice!! Wish them the best. If it was closer I'd go more frequently but I'm rarely in the mission.

This place is awesome! They serve real man portions of food and it's all delicious! Try the nachos with meat. They won't disappoint. Best $14 ever spent. I also tried a chicken Mojado burrito. It was very good. They are generous with their portions. Alot of avocado and cheese on everything. The sauces are delicious and they include a home made pick de gallo and chile. Overall this place is great. Cash only.

Real Mission Taqueria. Not hipster, not fake. Burritos weigh several pounds, I think. We both noticed that the tortilla was special, and who ever noticed the tortilla? I had a regular chorizo burrito and tamarind agua fresca, and loved them. Chorizo was SO good. My partner loved her chicken with avocado burrito too, and we have leftovers for lunch. Chips and salsa fresca (a little hot for my other) were bonus. (Note: cash only when we went.)

This taqueria I stumbled into it's absolutely delicious the chips, salsa, and Burrito the chips very very crisp fresh as well as the salsa I will be back !!!!!! Love it

No bueno. Lengua burrito was bland and couldn't really tell I was even eating lengua. The chili rellano- way too much breading! Way too cheesy and just also not good. The nachos were too soggy. Disappointed, as it's not that hard to mess up Mexican food or so I thought. Oh well.

One word: Guacamole. This avocado-based salsa just doesn't get much recognition these days. Well Taqueria San Francisco seems to have perfected the recipe. One way to describe it is that the avocados must be harvested from the high altitudes of the Sierra Madre mountains by one-armed monks, blessed by the ancient shamans and fed to the Aztec goddess Xilonen who then regurgitates it and sends loads of it to TSF through some divine channel. It's THAT good. That probably explains why they give you so little of it in a tiny container when you order a burrito and chips. They are imparting heaven's secret to the world one tiny container at a time. Ask for an extra serving but expect to pay 25 cents for it. I don't mind. I would pay top dollar for jars of that divine sauce. As for the burrito, it's all about ratio. The meat flavor has plenty to do with it, but the ratio is also an important factor in judging a good burrito. In that regard, TSF has once again exceeded expectations. Many taquerias will either fill your burrito with too much rice, or too much meat or too much in between. TSF has figured out the perfect balance. And it's not as hefty as, say, El Farolito's burrito (which is a great burrito) but it will still fill you up. It's actually just right. My Asian tummy can only take so much rice and beans. The staff is always good to me. I'm always greeted with smiles when I come to pick up my to-go order. It doesn't get very packed too so you get your order pretty quickly. The guacamole really put this place on the map for me but everything else about TSF is a step above the other neighboring taquerias IMHO. Living in the mission has somewhat turned me into a taqueria snob so trust me, I know what I'm talking about. :P 4.6 stars

With very little sleep, Sleepy Matt received a early morning phone-call from his boss, telling Matt to come to work at a different location. Matt, who had nothing in his stomach; not even a cup of coffee, landed at this taqueria at noon, because this taqueria was walking distance to/from his one of his workplace location. Matt ordered the Carne Asada Super-Burrito with everything ($5.25). The super burrito was smaller than other taquerias, but very tasty, with the meat grilled perfectly. But that lone-Super-burrito did not satisfy Matt, so Matt ordered a SECOND Super-burrito, which was the Broiled Chicken with everything. The Chicken was very good as well, but the second super-burrito seems bigger than the first one. Both of the burritos were small , but very tasty. Matt ate both burritos with just a can of Diet-Coke. While in between customers, the cook made fresh Salsa and Guacamole in front of Matt. But the terrified patrons' attention was at Matt devouring 2 tasty Super-Burritos. Matt yelled, "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? YOU'VE NEVER SEEN AN ASIAN-MAN EATING 2 SUPER-BURRITOS?"

My new favorite burrito joint. I love Taqueria Cancun but it's been closed for a while, and we've been trying other options. Both my carne asada burrito and my husband's with al pastor were killer. They get the char on the tortilla that makes it extra great. We went at dinner time on a weekday and there was no line. We will be back!

I ordered two super burritos. I got two burritos but no cheese, no sour cream, and no guacamole. I went back to the restaurant the next day after work same time. I ask for Manager and was told "come Wednesday or Friday". The cashier had no customer service skills and acted like he didn't understand english. Now I have to wait another day after paying $25.

I tried this burrito shop based on the accolades it has received from the fine people at burritoeater.com, which rates it as the second best burrito in the City. I'm disappointed to report that this was a long ride to another world for a less than mediocre taco experience. I tried both the carnitas and pollo tacos. The carnitas was quite fatty and greezy and the pollo, although white meat, was tasteless. This joint is really just another ordinary neighborhood taco shop. As far as trying a burrito v. tacos? If a place calls itself a *taqueria*, its tacos had better damn well be at least as good - if not better - than its burritos, right? I mean, otherwise, they would call it a burriteria. Simply, the meat was just greasy and fatty. The same greasy-fatty meat would have been stuffed into a burrito. I was totally unimpressed with the whole experience.

I've had two burritos here so far after Laurence W. wrote his glowing review I had to try. So I've had two burritos so far one carne asada the other a grill chicken. The grilled chicken was definitely better. So far my issue has been with their salsa. If you eat at the restaurant they have a salsa cup that's shared with other folks you don't get your own :/. A little sketchy for me. Supposedly the good salsa is asked for according to Laurence. So I'll need a third attempt before I completely give up on this place.

Taqueria San Francisco is a little hole in the wall restaurant. Very simple quaint place. However, there tacos de al Pastor?! They are always right on point!!!! Also, the burritos are a good size and I am never dissatisfied when looking for a quick flavorful burrito.

Satisfied my craving for a tongue burrito. Service was fast. Sauces were good, I wished there were more. There was a lot of testosterone in that place, mainly working, burly men!

$14 for a legit set up of beer chips spicy salsa burrito and tip. Salsa is actually pretty spicy and has a nice kick to it. I have been used to seeing either salsa bars or places giving you small cups of salsa but Taqueria actually gives you a jar of salsa. Such trust that this establishment has and as a huge salsa fiend, I was careful not to breach this trust and go ham on their amazing salsa. Mojado burrito is a super burrito on bath salt. Bath salt makes thing ridiculous and this really makes the burrito insane. Sauce all over the burrito. Cheese melted on top. Salsa and guacamole and onions in small islands as they fight for dear life. My lord this is a good mission style burrito. I have been looking for you and I definitely found it. So not only is your burrito covered in this amazing sauce and cheese, the inside has layers of delicious meat, beans, and rice. Really amazing burrito and if you want a true mission style burrito without breaking your bank, this is your place to go. 5/5

I went here yesterday I got the chicken super burrito it was great. I would go back for sure, my buddy got the beef he liked it too. With so many good taqueria options in the mission this one is slightly under the radar but def worth a visit

I've been coming to this little taqueria since 1995?1996? (it was Kindergarten for me and I'm now 25) and I love them. They haven't changed or lost their flavor. Basically, when I want a torta, a burrito, a quesedilla, or chorizo.. from anywhere else, I base the quality of others to their standards and all have fallen short.

Assignment: Find tacos to satisfy craving. Preferably close to San Diego standard. Anndddd Mission taco is a-go! So I took a ~45 minute bus ride allllll the way out here and I was really hoping this place would be worth it. It was :) The tacos are HUGE! Not like the tortilla was a bigger size or anything...it's more like they stuff the taco to the point where you can't even hold it properly and you're better off just eating the filling off the tortilla! I got the regular pollo (chicken) taco with added guac and it was pretty good! Like I said before, extremely generous portion! The chips are really good here! They're nice and crunchy and just the right amount of salt! Taste especially good with the table salsa! The service is quick. The dining area isn't the nicest looking, but this ain't no fancy restaurant...it's a taqueria! Seems like a lot of locals come here, which is always a good sign! It's not as delicious as tacos in San Diego, but still...they're not bad! I'd make the long bus ride again...that way I know when I arrive I'll be hungry!

This is my favorite Taqueria in the city! It is sometimes better than others but when it is good it is the best. We generally get carne asada or carnitas burritos and both meet is flavorful and fresh. The service is also great. The gentlemen that work there are super friendly always. Only takes cash however!

As a vegetarian, I look for flavorful Mexican food. :p I ordered a veg taco. It hit the spot. The cheese is melty at the bottom and there's flavor to their pico that they put in the taco. Beans and rice were well done. Good amount of avocado on my taco too. The pico and green chili salsa are different than other taquerias because they have a flavor zing to them, the pico is tangy and there's some spice in the green chili salsa that is different and wonderful, couldn't pick up on what it was though. I know meat eaters go to taquerias for the flavored meat, so I can't report on that unfortunately, but as a veg, we can't be having bland ass tacos and burritos, and the tacos here ain't that. I wanted to go for the mojado (wet) burrito, but I'll try that next time and update y'all.

Taqueria s.f. had a nice fragrace of meat when i entered. the entire grill was covered with grilling meats, no doubt getting ready for the lunch rush. menu: burrito (5), super b(6.25) tacos(2.25) etc. sampling: -carna asada burrito (5) *onions, green onions, lots of pinto beans, rice, and chewy beef were in the burrito mix. initial bites were yummy, subsequent bites less so. commercial chips, green salsa, and red tomato salsa were part of the meal. *burrito was a nice size, tasted too much of beans. frijoles refritos: -burrito a good value -fast and courteous service -some seats available for sitdown. -too inconsistent for 4 stars.
