Where to Find Atlanta’s Best Nachos | Eater Atlanta

"The Latin-Asian restaurant stays true to its culinary theme, even with the nachos. Tortilla chips are swapped out for crispy wontons and topped with queso, pico de gallo, corn salsa, and a choice of ground beef or kogi BBQ short rib. Off menu hack: substitute beef for ahi tuna sushi." - Lia Picard

Google
Excellent and interesting choices - I really like this place. We had a late lunch here after working hard on house cleaning and it hit the spot! I love the tacos here but tried one of the bowls instead. It was delicious. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly while the flavors in the bowl were fresh and blended nicely. The service was okay - felt it could have been a little more attentive given the slow period.

Google
Loved it! We went a few months ago, so it's a delayed review, but still was great! We went to the hostess stand, said we were waiting for 2 more people, so we sat on the comfy couches. Literally 30 seconds later a server came to seat us ans said "sorry for your wait". Appreciate it, but literally it had been 1 minute. 😆 They are prompt if anything! We ordered the nachos (fantastic!), and a bunch of tacos. The fried shrimp was okay, and my husband got the tropical fish taco and that was also okay, but the Korean one, and basically anything with chicken, beef, or pork were all amazing. Our friends also got tacos and agreed!

Google
I have been to the woodstock outlet mall location, and it wasn't a Great experience. So we decided to check out this stand alone location.  Waaay better! The mini Ahi Tuna tacos were delicious! Our bartender recommended several tacos to us and we got three of them. All were good but the thai chicken taco (which is thought it would like the least) was my favorite.  5 dollars for a single taco seems a bit much, especially because that applies to every taco. I enjoyed it but not sure if I'd drive 40 mins to get it again.

Google
Always a great time at Taqueria Tsunami! They have great chips and amazing tacos. Personal favorite is the Thai Chicken Taco with the beans and rice. Lovely staff as well. I love it here!

Google
We love fusion foods so we wanted to try this place. This is nice place with good staff, nice and clean restaurant and good food options. We had the edamame, chips and salsa, few different tacos and a couple of drinks. Everything tasted good except for the salsa, it tasted watered down and flavorless. We still recommend this place to others, maybe they will have a better experience with the salsa.

Google
The restaurant looks good. Seeing the huge crowd, we thought the food must be very good. But no food tastes that much. The food and decorations were wonderful to look at. We ordered shrimp bowl, tacos but it was bland without any taste. I think this happened because I came here with great expectations. I think a lot of people come here for the margaritas, not for the food. I love Mexican food but I don't like it here. If we look at the face of the other waitress and ask something, they walk away as if they didn't notice us.

My now boyfriend brought me here on our 3rd date and I have been in love with him and this place ever since. Location: The location is a standalone and decent size Parking: Plenty of parking and easy Service: The service is always great! No waiting on food or drinks. Ambiance/Crowd: Casual, family-oriented Food/Drink: 10/10 Food is so good! We always get the nachos and I get the chicken enchilada bowl - so much flavor and so good! Would I go back? 100x yes, this place is always top of my list.

Google
The ambiance was okay. The server was nice and staff in general was friendly. The drinks were nice as well but the food somewhere lacked the flavor. The American bowl had no salt and so did the guacamole. There were only 6-7 pieces of steak in the bowl although well cooked but not worth the price. The chicken quesadilla was too juicy and juices were flowing all over my hands. The yuka fries and churros were very good.

Yelp
The parking isn't ideal and it's very loud inside but the food is really good. They have a rather large selection of unique taco options. We started with the nachos and they were so good, loved the wonton chips in lieu of tortillas. We were seated and greeted rather quickly. I would be back if I was in the area.

Yelp
We enjoy it... fusion is always a little daunting but they do it well...the fact that it's a chain is one of the reasons we don't frequent this place - supporting locally Owned and all Every year our elementary school does a spirit night there - you have to have a flower for your receipt for it to count. They do a good job .. food is good as per ... staffing is good ...

Yelp
Second time here. First time with Nicole. We were seated inside, tucked in the a corner of the restaurant with views to the outside the panes glass windows. TT is accessible from Johnson Ferry not from the strip mall behind it. It's a fusion of East meets West cuisine offering comfort food from south of the border to sushi. The service is good and we noticed the staff are on the younger side, perhaps trying out their first or second job. We had fried calamari to start which came with a couple of creamy dipping sauces that were delicious. I enjoyed a rice bowl. For something different it hits the spot.

Yelp
I've lived nearly across the street for several years and tonight was the first time we've dined in (we've ordered takeout or delivery many times). It was a quiet evening, but since it was also st Patrick's day, I imagine that made an impact. The family went for tried-and-true taco meals and it lived up to the previous expectations. I tried a bowl and was pleasantly surprised. It was "light" and very filling. Note made and will definitely order that one again. We also tried their mocktails and a lime salt beer. The beer was terrific (I added the chili lime salt). The mocktail wasn't the best. Bottom line. Food was good. I'll probably stick to my takeout option.

Yelp
Nice staff but the food is awful and low quality. Even the margaritas didn't save the experience.

Yelp
We had gotten a recommendation for Taqueria Tsunami in general recently but had not had the opportunity to try the ones in either Gainesville or Marietta. We noticed this location was close to a movie theater where we were headed, so we decided to try it out. We arrived just after they opened at 11 a.m. (on Sunday). We got seated quickly and our server gave us an overview of things. They seemed to have a ~ full bar, but we just got waters. They have quite a variety of tacos to try (many with Asian influence). My wife tried two (bugogi and cauliflower). She actually liked the cauliflower better. I just got two 'gringo tacos' which were quite good. They were in soft tortillas. You get a side with the taco platter and since they don't provide chips and salsa automatically, I chose that as my side. My wife opted for a salad, which we ended up sharing. It was tasty. Based on our initial experience, I'd check this place out again if we are nearby (I know they have multiple locations, though none are near where we live).

Yelp
Ya'll, I left no crumbs at Taqueria Tsunami! Let me get straight into it... This is a super casual restaurant with table service. Since I was flying solo, I opted for a seat at a bar table where I met Oscar, the friendly (not grouchy! lol) bartender. Even though he was busy, he continued to check in on me, so I had everything I needed throughout my lunch. I ordered chips and salsa to start. I ordered two tacos (gringo and shrimp tempura - both amazing!) with a side of rice and black beans. I really just wanted the chips to accompany the rice and beans; I love the crunch when I scoop up the rice and beans. Everything was so good; I left no morsels! Note: The parking lot isn't accessible from the shopping center behind it, which is not super convenient. You'll want to enter directly from Johnson Ferry. 5 out of 5, I recommend!

Yelp
You t is unique, I wouldn't really call it fast food but it isn't fancy dining either and when I went there it was pretty busy. I got a bowl, it was pretty simple. You t is kind d friendly for sure. The service is good, very professional for a teenage staff. The calamari was good maybe a touch greasy. I think this may be a good lunch spot when it isn't so busy.

Yelp
I can back to visit GA and was so glad to find this in Marietta! The service was excellent. There were 3 of us and decided on starters. The wonton nachos hit the crunchy need with a tasty short rib. We also had the poke tacos, empanadas, and avocado rolls. I ate far too much but so good. The location was an easy in and out. It was a large open area and felt roomy!

Yelp
Loved how unique and delicious the tacos were here! The restaurant itself is pretty big and had plenty of seating. We were a group of 7 and managed to get a large table immediately. I ordered the Tsunami Quatro, which comes with a choice of 3 tacos and a side. I chose the bbq short rib, korean carnitas, and baja tacos, with a side of the yuca fries. I enjoyed all the tacos but I think the korean carnitas were my favorite! The yuca fries were pretty good as well. Food arrived pretty quickly as well and everyone in our group seemed satisfied with their tacos. Overall a nice spot for fusion tacos in Marietta!

Yelp
Amazing as always, been coming here for years and always have an amazing experience. Came here today after work as a treat from my boyfriend and we decided to eat at the bar and had the most wonderful time. The bartender was absolutely wonderful Chuy was an absolute gem. The All American Bowl was absolutely delicious as always and my boyfriends tacos where perfect! Always recommend people to here! Will forever be my favorite restaurant!

Yelp
The service was terrible for no reason. The place wasn't packed. The food was not good at all. Not tasty.

Yelp
I LOVE to Taqueria Tsunami!! I believe I have been to all of the locations in the metro area. Food and service always has been amazing. Ambiance and Vibe too. ONLY THING :(To make a constructive criticism ) The fried wontons used for the Asian Nachos, at the Johnson Ferry Location, is different that the one they used to served originally ( which the other locations use) and it not as tasteful. The dough is too thick and not as crunchy, (actually on the soggy side) and it takes away from the flavors. i wish they went back to serving they original ones, crunchier and lighter

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place! The food was great, my server was wonderful & the layout of the restaurant was nice too

Yelp
If I could give it zero stars, I would! The most disgusting food I've ever had. My mom felt the same way! The waitress suggested some rib, meat tacos, and they were disgusting. I told her I could not have any type of seeds and it came topped with seeds as well as the cucumbers topped with seeds that were on it.

Yelp
We went out to eat with our daughter on her last night in town before she returns to college tomorrow. Everything started out okay with Chloe, our server. She promptly took our app and drink order. She brought me the wrong beer, but I'm not mad, she fixed it. Then she gets the food order correct. She asked if the food had come out okay. Then, service when down a cliff. Halfway through dinner, Chole brought us our bill. No refills on my daughter's soda, no offer of another beer (which I wanted), and no offer for dessert (which we wanted). To top it off, I had to take the tab to the manager for him to cash us out, NO Chloe to be found. BYW, the food was great as usual. Bad experience with Chloe tonight. I do not want her punished, I would just like her to be retrained so she could become a good server.

Yelp
Avoid ordering Uber Eats or other delivery service from Taqueria Tsunami. It took over an hour for them to prepare the meal. The first driver left after a long wait, and the second driver waited over 30 minutes. It took 90 minutes to receive the order which was estimated to be 30-50 minutes. Don't accept the order if you can't fulfill it. Unacceptable service!

Yelp
I used like to come here for delicious tacos salads etc. but the quality seems to be deteriorating Service is good the food was not as fresh as I remember

Yelp
I've been to this location multiple times and have never received the experience I did until I got Belgin. She was very pleasant and bubbly. She made sure that we had everything we need the entire time and was on top of refills. She has made the best margaritas by far since I've been coming here and the tables around me said the same thing as well as how good her service is. I will be coming back and requesting Belgin from now.

Yelp
I typically really enjoy the food here, but have to give it only two stars because I most likely got food poisoning here from either the bulgogi taco or the pacific rim (Mahi) taco.

Yelp
Ordered south of the border bowl w chicken Disappointment- only detectable chicken and rice

Yelp
Love this place. It's one of my favorites. The bowls are just awesome. I'd eat here every day if I wasn't concerned about weighing 300 lbs!! Lolol. But it's a great place to dine.

Yelp
I had seen this location near my home and driven by curious as to the type of food they served. Then covid hit and didn't get the chance to try it. It was worth the wait. Walking in you are greeted warmly by the staff at the front and seated. They have outdoor seating options that are great on warm sunny days. We opted to sit inside today and I noticed all of the great photography around the restaurant as we were being seated. The restaurant is colorful and branded beautifully with a mix of Latin and Asian fusion throughout. The menu is extensive but has items for everyone's pallet. Today we opted for the chicken Enchilada bowl and the Far East Bowl. The presentation of the food was great. The food was beautifully played for what I thought was a casual dining place. The food was fresh, and felt like time was put into the preparation. That was nice. The first thing we had was an order of edemame. You can't go wrong with a shareable plate of that! This was the first time I had grilled and steamed edemame, and it was phenomenal. They topped it with a good amount of mild seasoning that tasted like it had a little southwest flair. Delicious. I highly recommend this dish. They have a great drink menu for the lush in all of us so visit with friends and enjoy! The Far East bowl I had was gorgeous. I added grilled shrimp and my order arrived with the shrimp hot, and the salad cold over warm rice. It was a nice juxtaposition of cold and warm that just made the tastebuds sing. So good. None of the veggies were soggy or old and everything had a clean look and crisp bite to them which was great. The chicken enchilada bowl was a blend of many wonderful flavors that one expects to have in Mexican food but served in an Asian fashion that was a great change of pace for this Mexican girl. The meals were served with chopsticks, and a fork for those who are not quite as adept at using them. For dessert we had the s'mores eggrolls...yes I said s'mores egg rolls...and they didn't make it long enough to take a photo so my apologies for that! That should tell y'all how great they are. Our waiter was cool and took our order promptly and was attentive to our table. This is a place I will be going back to. With the lack of fresh food options in the Marietta area, this is definitely getting my future business! Give Taqueria Tsunami a try! Family friendly, great for gathering with friends and open and airy seating. Go. Eat. Live.

Yelp
I tried this place a few years ago and had a poor experience but was very pleased with my recent visit! I had the All American Bowl, which was phenomenal. The steak was so tasty and overall the perfect combination of flavor. The prices are also great for what you get, with this bowl being $10. Rashelle is such a amazing server as well. I look forward to dining here again!

Yelp
This place is AWESOME! Looking for something new for lunch, my three coworkers and I decided to give this place a try today. Noticing the parking lot was almost full when we arrived, we figured it must be good, and boy was it! I ordered the Richman's Taco (steak), the Tempura Shrimp Taco, and the Gringo Taco (beef), along with chips and salsa as my side. All three were really good, and reasonably priced at $14.84 in total. Our waitress, Karen K., was great, as was the rest of the staff at the front desk. The restaurant was really bright and clean too. We plan on making this a regular lunch spot from now on. I highly recommend it!

Niah F.

Yelp
I went to Taqueria Tsunami for the 1st time today with colleagues as my going away lunch. Some people had been raving about this place and OMG it was good. I did the 3 tacos and a side. Rich Man's Taco was marinated steak, very tender. Shrimp Tempura Taco, well the name says it all, nice and plump shrimp. Aloha Taco was teriyaki chicken with pineapple salsa, hmmm good and moist. All the proteins were plentiful. The tots and queso, yo they could make a large side of that lol. And the Mango Sangarita (not pictured) was on point, would probably like it better frozen I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I wouldn't advise sitting at the bar unless you want to be grossed out. With everything going on with COVID, I was surprised to see the bartender (Brianna) touching fruit for my drink and even the ice with her hands (no gloves). In addition, she touched her hair right before touching my straw to put it in my drink! Utterly disgusting and this is how germs are easily passed from one person to the next. Needless to say, I didn't drink the drink. I couldn't stomach the thought of where else her hands had been after seeing them in her hair. She was nice, just unsanitary and clearly lacks self awareness. The food is great, but after seeing this it did make me wonder what goes on in the back of the kitchen. When it was time to pay the bill, she gave customers her IG name to promote her music. Unprofessional, especially with a post like this, considering the current climate of this country. Smh. I won't be back.

Yelp
This place has truly become staple and go-to in our household. We have been going to different Taqueria Tsunami locations over the years but love the convenience of this one. The Asian nachos are absolutely unbeatable and we crave them constantly throughout the year. The light and crispy wonton chips are topped with the protein of your choice (we always get the Korean beef), white cheese, jalapeños, lettuce, corn, and onion. The restaurant is always clean, the service is always good, and the food has been consistently great.

Yelp
I stumbled on taqueria tsunami by mistake. What a wonderful mistake that was. The service was very attentive, clean and welcoming. They have a very cut little patio, the weather was beautiful so we took advantage of the outside seating. It was our 1st time there. The waiter explained the menu and their most popular dishes. We had the avocado appetizer which was divine. We then sampled 5 different types of tacos. Let's say that it was a party in my mouth. The flavors were spot on. We had the beef, the chicken, the shrimp, the pork they were all delicious. I think I found my new fav spot.

Yelp
Another great addition to the East Cobb dining scene. Although I frequently drive by their other locations, I never dined at TT until this location opened up. I'm more than pleasantly surprised. On my first visit, I had every intention of ordering tacos at the Taqueria. But the menu guided me to the American Bowl with grilled steak, onions, mushrooms, and a fried egg. Sounded good. Tasted great. For a taqueria, the steak was surprisingly tender and flavorful. I've been back several times and while others in my dining party have tried different items, I have been sticking to the American Bowl. On one occasion, the steak was overcooked but that experience seems to be the outlier. One of my frequent dining partners discovered the steak quesadilla and it is really good as well. Basically the same grilled steak stuffed in a quesadilla. I have tried a few bites of different tacos (table sharing!!!) and the ones that I've tried were pretty good. But not good enough to get me off my American Bowl....maybe in the future. The only complaint that I have about this location is the parking. I understand they want to maximize parking spaces in a space limited lot. However, the lines are way too close together. East Cobb is the home of large SUVs and there is no possible way for 2 SUVs to park next to each other. I usually drive a mid-sized sedan and have extensive experience contorting my body to exit my vehicle...and even I find it challenging to do so in this parking lot. With great food, reasonable prices, and good service, the parking situation doesn't deter me from repeat visits but if you have a choice, drive your smallest vehicle and leave the SUV at home.
google avatar

Terry J.

Yelp
One small negative is that this chain changed their jalapeño cilantro margarita. The new version is...meh. We were lucky enough to have a bartender close by that knew how to make the old version and it was delicious. Service at the location is top notch. Everyone is friendly, really friendly. Try the short rib quesadilla or the chicken burrito bowl. Yum. Outside patio is good seating even with the bright sun they have umbrellas that help.
google avatar

Sasha M.

Yelp
Outstanding. Honestly the best taqueria tsunami location. The waitress we had constantly asked if we needed anything, she refilled our drinks without us even asking. I ordered the south of the border bowl, it was filling and flavorful. Definitely recommend. Had a small bit of a kick to it but it wasn't spicy. The queso is a must have. The marinated steak on the tacos is delicious. Perfect texture and mouth watering. Very clean as well
google avatar

Lagina L.

Yelp
The food was so extra bland. I had to be mindful of how much salt to add for flavor. The beef quesadilla was cubed and too thick. It should be shaven. Not offered any refills on my water or sweet tea. Cute ambiance but hard pass to return.

Jasmina R.

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance are amazing! So delicious foods, excellent service and nice ambiance!
google avatar

Eliana T.

Yelp
Food is delicious! The avacado egg rolls are the best. Also loved the Korean fried cauliflower. It taste just like shrimp . This was great cause I just recently developed a shellfish allergy. But no worries anymore with this appetizer!
google avatar

Marsha H.

Yelp
After getting takeout from another location our experience with this one was disappointing. They left out the dipping sauce with our appetizer. We also ordered both chips and salsa and chips and guacamole. As pictured we did not receive even one full box of chips. Good thing we had some at our house to fill in. :( They advertise curbside pickup but after calling to say we were there, we waited several minutes past our pickup time and noticed everyone else getting out of their cars in the pickup spaces. Our order ended up being about 15 minutes late and there were other frustrated customers waiting inside as well.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
It's just okay in my opinion. Nothing special. The tacos are probably the best part of the menu. The bowls are good but like nicer than chipotle bowls?
google avatar

Niral J.

Yelp
One of the best eatery's at Marietta Square with great Mexican-fusion options. The only reason I would rate it lower is because of a rude waiter/service, but I'm hoping it was just a one-time occurrence.
google avatar

Toni G.

Yelp
Delicious lunch. 1000 percent better than the marietta square location. This place is always clean and well staffed. I always seem to order the same thing because it's so good. One day I'll venture out of my comfort zone. Drinks and food were very tasty.
google avatar

Brandee W.

Yelp
This was my first time at this location and I will say that I found the staff very pleasant and cordial. I was glad to see the staff fully masked but I wish they required guests to at least enter the restaurant masked. I was seated right at the front door and I saw quite a few people walk in unmasked. I was far enough from the door not to feel uncomfortable but with cases still on the rise I think it would be smart. Nevertheless the staff did a great job of disinfecting tables between guest and they have spaced out most of the tables adequately to meet CDC recommendations. The booths are partitioned to give extra safety while the wall seating is spaced out. I think the measures they have put in place are enough to make guests feel comfortable. Now for the service and food. I waited about 7 or 8 minutes before someone was able to get to my table which I found a little odd, but when my server Elizabeth arrived she was super friendly and knowledgeable. Pre-Covid, I frequented a couple of the other TT locations so I was familiar with the menu. I was really sad to see the Shrimp DeFuego removed from the appetizer menu. Sad actually... but, I survived my heartbreak by getting a Tempura Shrimp Taco. Definitely not close to my DeFuego but it will do, I also got my other "go to" the Asian Nachos with beef short rib. OMG! Still delicious and filling and for less than $10 a great value. I washed all of this down with a Spicy Piña Rita which was very refreshing. I will note that my food came out before my drink and Elizabeth was very apologetic. I understood though because the bar appeared to be somewhat backed up because while it was spaced out, the restaurant was pretty full and the "parents" were definitely out on a Saturday night. I went around 7:30 PM and I loved that the restaurant had a great community vibe. A great mix of local teens and parents enjoying a night out with friends and family. If I'm ever near this location again I will definitely come back.

Yelp
The food here is so delicious! It was very busy and crowded on a rainy Friday night in GA. However, it was worth the wait. Our waitress was very good, sweet, and beautiful. The Tacos were delicious, and my husband ordered a bowl with tuna, which he really enjoyed! We will go back for sure!!

Yelp
First off, if you enter the strip mall housing Bagelicious and Red Sky, you won't see T.T. (I know! I made that mistake!) Drive into T.T.'s private parking lot directly off Johnson Ferry, in front of the aforementioned strip mall. The restaurant is where Caribou Coffee used to be. Now that we've got that settled ... this branch of Taqueria Tsunami is the same as the others I've visited. Only difference may be size. This is bigger. And there's a bar. (Do the others have a bar?) I like the idea of fusion tacos. The menu has good variety. Per usual I put together my plate: two tacos, (Thai Chicken & steak), plus a side salad. Filling, tasty, and at $9 neither cheap nor expensive. The staff is young and friendly. The dining room bright and clean. Good place to catch up with a friend over lunch.

Yelp
The margaritas, the fried cauliflower, nachos, and tacos it's all so delicious. It's become one of our regular spots.
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
This was our first experience at this restaurant. Loved it! The margaritas were flavorful and the food was great. The experience and service was hands down great! We will be coming back here and I would recommend getting a few tacos. They have so many awesome choices!

Tauheedah M.

Yelp
Ummm I ordered via Uber Eats. Guacamole, Queso and a Spanish Bowl with Chicken. There were 3 chunks of Chicken. Absolutely flavorless. I contacted Uber Eats and they were like oh well basically so that was a waste of my money. Queso was very thin so I added cheese and then it was good. Guacamole was very good. I wanted to like this place
google avatar

Racheal R.

Yelp
Love this place! The queso is a must! Prices are reasonable and servings are worth the money. Keep your alcoholic beverage orders simple or from the menu. Friday nights and Saturday nights are always packed and there's a lovely fireplace to keep you cozy while waiting

Yelp
This was my first time at an Asian/Mexican fusion restaurant, and I was satisfied! They had lots of options which I appreciated. We started with the chicken teriyaki empanadas, and they were amazing! The sauce they served with it really took it to the next level. I ordered the chicken quesadillas, I was a little disappointed because they were dry, and very plain, no onions or vegetables. The sauce was great and one I added the black beans and rice to it, It was good! The beans and rice were very bland. The teriyaki chicken tacos were really flavorful! The tots and queso was good. I would have liked more queso and maybe the jalapeños diced. Overall really good! I would go back.

Yelp
Excellent service - and I got my food so quickly! I decided to try something new and ordered the Chicken Enchilada Bowl and was not disappointed. The potion was huge and they did not skimp out on the meat. Would 100% order this again! @states.of.flavor
