Amazing tacos and quesadillas Need more salsa for proportion of the chips Seating is no flares, but food is so good, who cares! Warm sauce for dipping is great!

Food was AMAZING, the service was knowledgeable about the food. The only thing I would have to say is the parking lot area, you have to have a lot of patience to get out. But everything else EXCELLENT. By the way your salsa is the best that I have had and the hot sauce is liquid fire but really good. Thank you for an amazing dinner.

Birria Pizzadilla!!!!! Best tortillas!!! Steak Quesadillas!!!!! Amazing food and friendly service. This place is always busy.

I was in town for work and decided on something “light” for dinner. This restaurant gives a food truck feel but with a dine in option. I ordered the fajita chicken quesadilla and two beef fajita tacos on corn. Order took about 10 minutes or so. It smelled great! The quesadilla was okay. Very cheesy if you like more cheese than chicken. I prefer an even ratio so I give the quesadilla three stars. But five stars go for the tacos! I can get that all day everyday! Delicious, flavorful, and full of meat. It was so good and I wished I would have gotten more. But it’s a great gem in the city of Waco so I definitely recommend. It gives authentic Mexican food that’s not Tex mex.

Got barbacoa quesadillas, and it had little to no meat. The meat i did get had great flavor. This has happened several times in a row, and very disappointing because I make a point to come here when in town. That has changed.

Got tired of fast food after work and did a quick search to see what was close to my hotel. Found this taqueria 2 minutes away and they are open till 11:00pm. Good tacos and the salsa was nice and spicy. Charro beans hit the spot. Heading back in the morning for some breakfast tacos.

I’ve called orders ahead and had them picked up for me and I wouldn’t be writing a review if it were a one time thing. However at this point it’s now been a constant issue with my orders. Most recently I ordered an agua fresca de limón. When my order arrives to my job and I’m handed my drink I immediately notice the color is off. I give it a sip and well it simply tasted like sugar no crisp citrus notes like natural homemade lemonade or limón would have. I then call to ask about how they make the agua de limón and YES indeed it’s just powdered flavoring. It’s frustrating that online and in store they announce to sell aguas frescas when in reality it’s just powder Kool-Aid/Klass brand etc….. and yet charge as if it were truly a fresh made beverage. If I wanted a processed beverage I would go to any corner store or gas station and even then it would be cheaper. Not to mention that when I call to place my order the lady taking the order seems to be in a rush continuously asking anything else, when I’m not even finish with my sentence. If you don’t have time to take an order it’s okay to communicate that as well, simply say it’s best if you call back or place the order online. I call because it’s quicker but if calling is going to cause communication issues to the point where my orders are being delivered incorrectly every time than I would rather not call, I order from here because it’s closer to my job and convenient but the service and food isn’t what it’s supposed to be.

Sometimes the pizzadilla with beef is 17. Sometimes it’s 25-27. For the same size. It’s good but some of the workers are really rude and change prizes daily.

Chips and queso is just Velveeta cheese. Al pastor tacos are decent but there's a lot better ones out there. Chicharrones is probably the most disappointing. I'm always okay with the texture being soft and squishy, but the one I had was so full a grease I couldn't eat it.

We got something called a pizzadilla. It was just so good and so massive that we made three meals off of it. We just happen to be driving through down to Austin from Dallas. We needed to find a lunch place and we were so happy that we found this place. Bring cash with you they prefer that. And be hungry! Make sure you'll be ready to sit outside or take it to go.

YOU CAN GET VEGETARIAN TACOS HERE!! I felt the need to scream this first because if you're vegetarian and looking at the menu, you won't see anything besides quesadillas available. When we asked about veggie tacos, the lady taking our order said "yes, we can do that" then proceeded to list out all of the vegetarian ingredients available which gave my husband the ability to essentially "build his own taco". He chose all the ingredients: rice, beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and cheese. He loved them!! I was being boring and chose a cheese quesadilla, but ordered chips and salsa so I could dip the quesadilla into the salsa. This combination was delicious! Final tip: their "indoor seating" is actually an enclosed patio, so it's not very cool in hot weather. It looks like they have the ability to open up the patio when the weather is nice, which I bet would be a great ambiance when Texas feels like behaving!

God was great. Very flavorful and very authentic. I wound recommended trying Zacatecas for yourself.

Nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. Well maybe they could rethink their seats because 74 year-old people are have a hard time with picnic tables. Other than that excellent five stars in every way. The people were friendly, the food was amazing, the portions were good and the prices were fair. Anyone in Waco should give it a try, anyone passing through Waco should give it a try and anyone just thinking about some delicious food might want to go to Waco and give it a try.

Simple food that gets the job done! My Waco friends recommended that I check out this place, and the food was really good. I mean just look at that cheese pull from the quesadilla! The highlight was for sure the al pastor quesadilla and the barbacoa tacos. I got a combo of corn and flour tortillas for my tacos, and you really can't go wrong. The corn tortillas hold their shape really well, and the flour tortillas were nicely toasted. My only complaint was that the chicken and our limes were a bit dry. Definitely love the sauces that came with the meal. My spice tolerance is pretty good, and the spice was noticeable. Really good to add onto your food! Really nice staff and they accept Apple Pay.

My daughter got three tacos that was just the way she would've wanted it, I got a fajita burrito, just the way I would've wanted it The place appeared to be somewhat busy in and out, and you can eat in. The girl work the counter was nice. But we found a new place for a tacos from now on because they were super good

Disappointed that they didn't have Tacos de Lengua anymore! We got Tacos de Cabeza (YUM!), which are fabulous, a very cheesy Quesadilla and the amazing Elóte, which is worth going back for!!! The girl at the window was very nice!

Hands down best salsa in all of Texas. Every single item I've ordered is delicious and freshly made.

Stopped by on Christmas Eve. A friend and I went to see the tree at Zilker Park. It was late (midnight) and her being pregnant we were in the mood for tacos. Our usual spot wasn't open but we kept rolling and saw the light and a pretty long line at this food truck. People don't wait in line for unappetizing food! The menu was simple but after looking around I realize they have a hidden menu. A few people were ordering plates and side items. We ordered street tacos. Everything is made to order. Our food was fresh, hot and AMAZING! I didn't have to use my translator app but it is helpful if you know some basic Spanish. I loved the green sauce and from the looks of other people s food the quesadilla is my next menu item to try.

first time, went through the drive thru and confronted with terrible customer service. Very short with words, bad attitude and bad directions. finished ordering and was told "go around" with no direction so i went around and parked and waited maybe they'd bring my food but obviously didnt. had to go inside where they informed me i had to go thru the drive thru once again to pick up my food. overall food was good but never going again.

Some of the best tacos I've ever had. True mexican tacos and rice. I am originally from California and I have not had good Mexican food for 5 years since I moved to the south. This changed my opinion!!!!

The person working the drive-thru needs to have better customer service and act more professional, I wouldn't recommend the food either. And the place looks dirty all around the building. The owner needs to retrain the employees on how to better service the customers. Will never recommend this !!

Super yummy and affordable priced. Filled with flies which was a bit annoying but the food was good! I ordered the 2 El Pastor tacos as well as Elote.

If you like food you need to stop in and have some of the best food in Waco! When your tired of waiting for hours for over priced TV food. Grab some tacos! We tried fajita, tripa, pastor, Birria and several other tacos. There is something here for everyone! Texas is starting to get more and more great taco stands. This one has been around forever and with the food they serve they will be around another lifetime!

Great birria tacos!!! Going back asap for their quesabirria tacos! The drive thru is great and the employees were kind too! We got our food quickly and at a great price. Can't stop thinking about it!

Food was good . the only thing the flour tortillas where not homemade Which was unfortunate . Because food was authentic

I live in Austin so I was in Waco for some Business. It took longer than expected so I was hungry and on the way out I found this Taqueria after searching through yelp reviews. I'm so glad I stopped. The menu online didn't have what I wanted but there was a picture on yelp which had a sign for Birria tacos. And my friends, that is the only reason I went. The tacos can be ordered in Quesabirria (sp?) style Or simply with the consumer as well as the tortillas and all the other accompaniments. I would be remiss if I didn't say that it definitely hit the spot!!! I will be back if I am in town again.

I live in Waco and have been eating food from here for years. It's always delicious, fast and fresh. Recently I tried the new Quesabirria tacos and they were SO good! Highly recommend trying them, as well as their tacos, tortas and elote.

I love the variety of meat options for the tacos. However, the cabbage they serve on the tacos is really distasteful. I'm from South Texas, so I grew up eating tacos. Usually, they're served with onions and cilantro. The cabbage doesn't have any taste whatsoever, and I feel like the tacos end up lacking.

This place started as a food truck & moved up to a brick & mortar with a drive thru. In Waco for 26 years. The birria combination with the white cheese is the best I've ever had. Yummy! Also both times I came here there were mostly Latinos so that's a good sign that it's authentic. Service was good too.

Another great experience at Taco Z! I tried the fajita beef tacos this time and they are my new favorite. I ordered 2 large melon agua frescas and drank both, could've had a third, it's sooo good! I think they use cantaloupe instead of watermelon, either way, it's the best drink, literally cured my depression. Love the Elote. what's not to love about this place?! It's great every time!

We were looking around Waco for some Tacos after going to the zoo and we stumbled across this spot. Definitely a must try if you're in the area. Food was affordable and out quick. Some of the best birria i've had in Texas.

Great prices for birria, cheaper than one that's up LaSalle. Food always tastes great, and people are nice as well.

We drove all the way from Bastrop texas to get some authentic Zacatecas food cuz that's where my family is from well my dad. There was not much to eat besides tacos but who don't love tacos. I give this place a 3 of 5 due to the meat being over cooked. as well as the person taking the order just clearly looking at me and laughing at me thinking I'm just a white girl not known when I want. I was taking the time to read the very small options of meat selection they have cuz I haven't had food from my grandma In a few years and I wanted my mouth to bring me back my childhood. The staff was not friendly never talked to you. And just stared at you laughing behind their teeth like I was a joke to even be there. Made me super unconventional and definitely won't be going again.

Best damn tacos in the state. Stop here every time I'm in the area. Today I had the beef fajitas and al pastor tacos. I highly recommend them.

Average at best, I would not call this authentic by any means (I am Mexican, so I know what authentic Mexican food tastes like) . The Al pastor is nowhere near authentic, looks more like seasoned ground pork. The carnitas lack flavor, the amount of grease that comes out of these tacos is excessive. Also who puts cabbage on their tacos? It's not even pickled it's just plain chopped cabbage, onion and cilantro work just fine. The horchata tastes likes it's made from a package. Also, the girl taking orders has an attitude and didn't even get our order right. I do not understand how they have so many good reviews. L

I'll really miss this place when I leave Waco. The tacos are so dang cheap, authentic, and always come with all the toppings (cilantro, onion, lime). The toppings are always fresh and the limes are juicy. I always order the al pastor tacos even though I'm usually a person who prefers variety. I highly recommend those and the elote (corn in a cup). It's pretty simple with corn and some kind of cream and also cheeeap. You add in the mayo, butter, and cayenne to taste. The drive-thru is a little strange since they take your order at the only window they have and then you have to loop around the drive-thru to pick up your food. Not a huge deal because the food will be done by the time you make the quick loop.

I really wanted to like this place, but their Cubana isn't a cubana. It's "asada" that's extremely salty, and dry, there was no cheese, & the bread stale.

I absolutely love these tacos they are always open till 3 AM and I always hit so different at night they were absolutely amazing and they have all kinds of variety

This place DOES NOT have indoor seating. Keep that in mind. Seating is under a covered patio area that would protect you from the elements. Taqueria Z is a very authentic tasting establishment. Elote is and tacos are very tasty and fresh.

Back when I was a student at Baylor University, I LOVED Taco Z. I always ordered the 3-4 beef fajitas with all the works (cabbage and onions) and add cheese. It comes with a side of salsa and limes. They have never charged me extra for adding cheese-- gracias ! The drive thru is awesome because I frequently crave tacos but have no desire to walk up to the cashier. However, depending on the time of day, the drive thru can be incredibly backed up due to the fact that they ask you to "please, go back around" once you've placed your order and paid. At that point, other cars may have driven up to the drive thru and thus, your wait is longer. Nevertheless, the beef fajita are juicy and I love the fact that I can choose between flour or corn tortillas. Reasonably priced. Nice people. Great food.

Good ol' taco trailer now has a brick and mortar store! All you need here is their ELOTE! ELOTE! ELOTE! Oh and the barbacoa!

Their Barbacoa tacos were great but their elotes were alright-I've had worse. I love the La Milpa truck which is near this restaurant and I happened to be driving through Waco on a day that La Milpa was closed so I settled for this and based on the review as I wouldn't regret it but unfortunately it wasn't the best. The price is super good for the amount of food I got. We got three tacos, 1 steak and 2 barbacoa and two small elotes and steak on the side to add to our elotes all for $12. Also their bathroom is super dirty All in all it's a decent place for the price and food quality but if you want to experience better food at the same price try La Milpa! BEST FOOD EVER HANDS DOWN!

Excellent fajita tacos. Drive thru an order and then circle back around and pick it up. Quick and economical. Open late on weekends.

One word...Awesome! This little taco spot has the BEST tacos in town. My son hipped me to this place and now we go once a week to get our taco fix. We always order the chicken and steak fajita tacos on corn and/or flour tortillas and they are alway fresh and taste just like homemade.

Authentic, affordable tacos. The al pastor and barbacoa are my favorites. There's no indoor seating but they have an insulated area with picnic tables. The people who work here are friendly, and they also have a drive thru!
