Having been prompted by the owner of Starfrutas to visit this restaurant to try the enchiladas, I finally went there.
The place was almost completely empty, which seems to be a theme with the location, no matter who owns the business. Strange, that, especially when Mangy Moose is overloaded most of the time.
I ordered enchiladas and rice in Spanish, but was surprised when she asked if I wanted chicken or carne asada. Normally, enchiladas have shredded beef, cheese, or chicken. I ordered carne asada since it's my favorite.
I got a Jarritos Limon from the drink refrigerator and sat at the table for a while.
The same woman behind the counter brought the dish to the table for me. It looked really wonderful.
I pushed aside the avocado slices, so that I could cut the enchiladas into smaller pieces. However, I tried the rice and then, the beans, and they were very good. When I tried the enchiladas, I wasn't very happy. You know when you saw a diner on TV show and for "well done", they yelled "burn it"? This is how the carne asada seemed to be--tougher than expected. It wasn't really chewy, as if it hadn't been marinated, but it was more--crunchy. That's unusual.
The service was great but I'm just not so sure about the food. Maybe, I'll return for a green chiles omelet or something like that.
