Tarantula Hill Brewing Co. was a first for us. We met friends there for Sunday lunch, but this was really a scouting visit to see if it would work as an event venue.
The space is huge - with lots of seating out front, inside, and out back. There are fire pits in the front, a stage in the back, and plenty of room for tables and mingling. From an event perspective, it’s a great setup and very flexible.
The service model is more DIY than we expected. You grab your own water at the bar, and to order food or drinks, you either stand in line (separate lines for bar, ice cream, and pizza) or scan a QR code at your table.
At first, I rolled my eyes at having to order on my phone (hello, COVID flashbacks), but for this kind of place, it actually works really well. One person can open a tab, others can add to it, and you close out at the end. Mid-meal, I wanted another Diet Coke—two taps on my phone, and it arrived in under a minute. That’s faster than traditional table service.
There are also lots of TVs inside, so if sports are your thing, you’ll be happy.
The menu has something for everyone, but the food itself was just okay. We ordered a chicken wrap, a vegan sandwich, ahi tuna tacos, and a Hawaiian pizza. Ironically, the tater tots were the crowd favorite.
This place really wins on ambiance, layout, and ease of service. The food isn’t the draw—but the vibe absolutely is. Will we be back? Yes. We’re planning to work with them on hosting an event. You really can’t beat the atmosphere.
