Last night I attended the Target Center(TC) for the Millennium Tour. Earlier I was at Cargo Food Authority with my friends for Trivia Night so I was a little late to the concert. No problem though right, it's not like they start on time.
I entered TC and was walking to my Cheap Seats, because you know, the tickets were expensive, but I wanted to still treat myself to this experience. As I walk that way a security lady stopped me and looked at my ticket, she stated that that location has been closed already because too many people kept coming and going, and they had a strict no re-entry once people left. She told me I had to go to Guest Services because I was being transferred.
All I thought was 'OH CRAP'! As I waited in the Guest Service line, my anxiety rose. Finally, I got to the window and showed the lady my ticket and explained what the security lady told me. She expressed understanding to what I said, and told me to wait a second.
As I waited I started to sweat a little more. 'Did I do something wrong, 'Am I going to have to pay more?', 'Well guess this isn't the best experience, and I shouldn't treat myself ever again.' Clearly these are all of the thoughts going through my head. Well...because I was late, and I wasn't rude about the whole situation (she said a few people were yelling at her for having to be transferred to a different cheap seat section), SHE TRANSFERRED ME TO WAY BETTER SEATS!
So instead of being transferred to a different cheap seat section that was still open, she gave me lower level seats, and 1 section away from the stage! WOOOHOOO! After having a REALLY LONG APRIL, this was one of the best treats, and I thank the lady who worked there and helped me! I wish I remembered her name because she was so sweet about it all. (Maybe this is a common thing, maybe it isn't, regardless, being nice no matter what goes a long way)
At TC there are food and beverage vendors, all very expensive, so I didn't partake in buy anything, but it was nice to see that even for the concert there was quite a selection of things open for people. The bathrooms are all over which is also great, along with plug-ins for those needing to charge electronics.
I have been to the TC one other time years ago for the Newsboys Concert, and I felt like they did more with their Visuals and Stage Set-up, then the Millennium Tour Acts, but that is just my opinion.
Overall, like everything fun in this world, it's expensive, but I had a great time, and I don't regret going. If there are other things happening here in the future, if I want to go bad enough, I will go. I would like to suggest that people going to concerts or big events get to park for free since we are already spending a ton on the tickets, but parking in the lots is extra. However, that is just wishful thinking on my part.
