The 10 Best Lunch Spots In Holborn - London - The Infatuation

"If your stomach is ever rumbling walking down Theobald’s Road, then you should pat it in knowing appreciation. This is an excellent stretch of London to find some food. Fish and chips, beef rendang, and big plate chicken are all within a stone's throw of each other. Tarim is where you’ll find the latter. The Uyghur restaurant is from the same people as Dilara and although this spot isn’t quite as homely, it’s still a good choice for some handmade leghmen. Just remember to ask for everything spicy." - rianne shlebak, jake missing

The Best Restaurants In Bloomsbury And Holborn - London - The Infatuation

"You’ll find big plate chicken, cumin-rubbed lamb skewers, and soft boiled dumplings at Tarim. The Uyghur restaurant is from the same people as Dilara in Finsbury Park and although this spot isn’t quite as homely, it’s still a good choice for some hand-pulled leghmen noodles and more. Just remember to ask for everything spicy. Not the polite kind of spicy either." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing

If you haven’t explored the vibrant world of Uyghur cuisine yet, consider this your official sign to book a table! We stumbled upon this gem during our London trip, and let’s just say our taste buds are still doing a happy dance. We kicked things off with the Tugre (dumplings). These aren't just your average dumplings; they were perfectly pleated pockets of joy. Thin dough, juicy filling, and that authentic "melt-in-your-mouth" texture that tells you everything is made with love topped with savory sauce. For the main event, we went big with the Tarim Special Platter. Talk about a "wow" factor! This dish is an absolute mountain of flavor—fragrant spices, tender lamb meats, chicken and perfectly cooked rice. It is truly mouthwatering and honestly massive; it could easily satisfy a hungry squad of 5 people! Just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, the manager surprised us with complimentary Rice Pudding and Baklava. Beyond the food, the hospitality was 10/10. The manager and the waiting staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful, guiding us through the menu since it was our first time trying Uyghur food. They made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. Kudos to Tarim! We’re definitely returning to try some other dishes on the menu!

Uyghur cuisine is unheard of in Manchester which attracted me to plan a meet-up with our friends here. First visit for all of us and we were all impressed with this place. It's a small cosy restaurant and all the staff were friendly. We ordered Marjan Quorumisi, Uyghur Manti, Uyghur Kebab, Lamb Ribs, Black Mor Salad, and Traditional Uyghur Tea. Food and drinks came at a reasonable time. Generous portion. Each dish was flavoursome and there was a variety of textures. Marjan Quorumisi was interesting to us not only because of the noodle shape being diced, but also because the texture was neither overly soft or al-dente. The Uyghur Manti was proper meaty filling beautifully wrapped in a thin dough. The dipping sauce pushed it to another level. Both the Uyghur Kebab and the Lamb Ribs were well seasoned and grilled to perfection. The lamb meat was tender and wasn't burnt from the grill. The Black Mor Salad was great for balancing out the heaviness from the meat with the lovely crunch from the black fungus (wood ear). We got to try their homemade rice pudding which had a good level of sweetness. We washed down the meal with Traditional Uyghur Tea that reminded me of Chinese herbal / nourishing soup, which not only tasted good but also made us feel good for feeding ourselves with healthy food and drink. Thank you for the evening. We were all impressed and would highly recommend this place.

Really delicious food, excellent range of spiciness, and overall a very friendly environment. There is not a large amount of space, so if you know you'll be going during peak hours, it would be best to have a reservation ahead of time. Would especially recommend any of the noodle-based dishes as the noodles tasted amazing!

Came to pick up some samsa during work. Samsas tastes amazing! Gave 20% discount which was nice of them. Whilst we was parked outside they was so sweet and came and dropped off two more. Really appreciate staff taking care of us NHS ambulance workers.

Google
+ Uighur tea was tasty + the dessert at the end was nice + the service and atmosphere are very nice. - the “very hot lagman” was 1/3 hot pepper and garlic and not possible to eat. I think it is worth to give a small caution - you do an order on the phone, and it is not very convenient if you want to ask about any modification, e.g I asked in the order comments if it is possible to do the plov with beef instead of lamb but they haven’t denied and just brought the lamb one without confirming.

Not impressed by our lunch experience. We had 3 toddlers and did not have any highchair, and had to collapse all prams as restaurant v small. It took a long time for order to be collected. I asked if the noodles are going to be spicy because i cannot handle heat and feeding my toddler, they said not spicy so we ordered it - both me and child cannot eat it, mild spicy. Chicken shish was dry. Lamb ribs took ages to come (close to 20-30' as everyone else finished food and i was waiting), and was salty and dry, the nan underneath was also not nice. The samba was nice and we happily had seconds, and was the only positive note. Overall food was very mid, but mostly was miffed by staff not respecting dietary requirement and long wait. Would not come back.

This was my first time eating Uyghur food, and wow — it was absolutely delicious! I can honestly say these were the freshest noodles I’ve ever had. Absolutely delightful! Great service too.
