Tarrant Area Food Bank - Main

Very difficult to get a hold of anyone. Emails don't get answered. Organizationally their process for making it easy to donate, even a simple cash/check donation isn't well organized. We get no notice that they receive our donations and not even another envelope to send the next one. Not looking for a pat on the back, just make it easier to donate. Maybe they need better management in the donation department.

Truck driver review: great stop. If you can get here early park on the street to avoid the crazy morning traffic. The Food Bank docks were easy to back into other than cars trying to pass on the blind side as we backed in. Food Bank workers were all very friendly and unloaded our trailer in less than 30 minutes after backing in. Receiving office is well marked on Cullen Street. It's in the middle of the receiving docks. It sad how many people complain about getting free food being inconvenient. Nobody does this job to get rich. They do it because they want to help people. I know everyone is going through life differently, but take a moment to be thankful that God puts it on many hearts to help each other when in need.

This is a challenging review to make… my friend didn’t make it out the same way I did. He was really never the same. The way they looked at us. It was like we weren’t human. ( overall the great time helping out the community 😀.)

The lady at the front desk was not helpful at all, and she was very racist. She made sure that her kind had two bags and made me and this other guy stand there this whole time to give us the bag that she could’ve gave us the whole time but no, she was too busy making sure that her people getting taken care of and then they get two bags. I waited outside to make sure that I’ve seen it and yes, I have it on film and yes, I have her own film as well I don’t appreciate that. This is not child food to be given away be equal and be fair or be nothing and she was a Hispanic lady with glasses at the front desk.

***TRUCK DRIVERS*** Receiving is on Cullen st. Clearly marked. Round abouts on both ends of street so easy to turn around and dock. Plenty of room. People are nice. Got me in a door immediately and unloaded in about a half hour. Street parking if needed. Can't ask for much more.

Long line but they hooked us up. They had toys for the kids in line, I thought that was cool. And gave out bottled water. it was hot waiting outside in the long line so they did what they could to make it bearable.

The food bank is a pillar of the community. The clinic I work at benefits from the TAFB to services its most vulnerable patients that is food insecure. If someone is hungry they are not thinking about preventative health. I wish I could give these people more stars because I truly appreciate everyone that works there. I had the opportunity to visit the warehouse and it is clean, well organized, and the people that work there are Dolly Parton friendly 😂😆. Make a donation or get a group together to volunteer because not only will you help people but your life will change.

Great place to volunteer and help the DFW community. Kyle, Phil, and Jimmy are great staff members directing the volunteers.

Awesome people and awesome place that always need more volunteers and food donations. These guys work two shifts and sort through donations and make sure to deliver as much as possible to those in need. I visited the place for the first time on Thursday. I met Angel who's a wonderful lady that I provisionally talked to on the phone. The love and energy that the volunteers there have and employees too is out of this world. With people like them we can win the fight on hunger. Please take some time to visit this place and see the amazing work they do. Take some canned goods with you, pasta and anything else you might and bring your gift for those in need. Maybe after a visit (far from the eye far from the heart) you will get to understand better why we all need to go beyond just felling sorry for those in deed and decide to actually do more for them.

very un happy with the food bank in whitney that you supply the man who runs it gives all the good things to friends in 2 pickup trucks with trailers before every one who are waiting in line and gave them all the senior boxes and caned and dry goods it was at laguana park before but just moved to whitney and told everybody will be at the lions club on nov 1st but no parking and you would not let your trucks come to that location dew to no space for them !! I told him last month it was too small and e should maybe consider the cowboy church or the vfw on 2604 or maybe the high school !!! he told he was running the God Dam show and he would not ever talk to the cowboy church or any else and he decided what to give to everyone and where it goes!!! this man is rude and needs to be replaced maybe just turn everything over to our daily bread they know what they are doing!!!!! i am 72 years old and many of us depend on this food to get by on once again because of this man we all have nothing he also changed the date on july because he had other plans to late june but no one was told so we missed that one too!!! please look in to replacing him !!! with someone else!!

I came in contact with the most rudest employee,Carmen Hernandez. She also didn't know her job giving false information to me. I went to go deliver some packages and she had an attitude off the back. I was flabbergasted with this as the type of business it is, helping people in need. I walked up asking a question as I was told to do so by another employee and there went the attitude, I was so confused. I hope she does get held accountable for her actions as I did call and put a formal complaint. I really hope she's not treating the customers that are in need this way.

Remember you never know what someone coming into your facility has just been through. I showed up 5 minutes late to a volunteer orientation. Yes, I should have been on time. It's my fault for being a nurse on call, trying to leave work early because you only have 3:00 orientation in the middle of the week. But the thing that really upset me was the unfriendly turn away. People are volunteering for goodness sake. Now I understand why you have so many open slots that can't be filled. If someone is going to turn me away as a volunteer because I was 5 minutes late they really don't need my help.

I went to donate groceries at the food bank. I was so impressed with the kindness and professionalism of the staff. They couldn't have been any nicer. Yeah for the food bank!!

This place is super duper awesome. WHY... well first off they help feed people in a very large area something like 13 counties. I had the pleasure of volunteering here a few times. The employees are very professional and fun to be around. The typical volunteer activity lasts from 3 to 6 hours a day depending on their needs and the availability of the volunteer. I was impressed by the amount , quality and variety of food and non food this place takes in and puts out. I cant say enough about this place. For volunteers its easy to check in with kiosks in the area that leads into the building. Its pretty much like going to work except there is no one really pushing you like a worker. I intend on helping out at the food bank in 2018. One other thing its a great place to bring a group of friends or co-workers for a volunteer day.
