9 of the Most Spectacular Honeymoon Suites in the MICHELIN Guide, from Paris to the Serengeti

"Carved out of the volcanic terrain, the cave hotels of Cappadocia follow in the great architectural tradition of this region of Turkey. In your luxe cave, you have a stone bathtub just behind the bed, along with a large living room and private patio with panoramic views of the terrain." - Yolanda Evans

Rock Stars: the incredible cave hotels of Cappadocia

"It’s a concept we first saw in Italy, but it’s no less compelling in Turkey: not just a building but an entire village, abandoned by its residents during hard times in the 20th century, rehabilitated and restored by an adventurous developer into a hotel that blends the best of the ancient and modern worlds. Taskonaklar takes the village of Uçhisar as its raw material and transforms it into the kind of immersive experience that stand-alone hotels can only dream about." - MICHELIN Guide

Taskonaklar Hotel, Cappadocia (Nevsehir, Cappadocia) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s a concept we first saw in Italy: an entire village in a rugged natural setting, abandoned by its residents during hard times in the 20th century, rehabilitated and restored by an adventurous developer into a hotel that blends the best of the ancient and modern worlds, seasoning the modern boutique-hotel experience with a generous serving of rustic village life. This time the location is Turkey’s cave country, the inland region of Cappadocia, and the hotel is Taskonaklar Rocky Palace, which takes the abandoned village of Uçhisar as its raw material and transforms it into the kind of immersive experience that lesser country hotels can only dream about." - Tablet Hotels

I didn't want to write this review but when you spent $750/night and then after you check out, hotel management says you owe another $153 for an additional person (we had two adults and our two kids in the family suite which was very large, two bedrooms) because that's "their online booking policy" I have to give this hotel 1 star. FYI, they informed us of the "extra charge" via WhatsApp hours after we already checked out. Scam. We stayed at two other 5 star resorts in Turkey on our two week vacation and this hotel was "nice" but feel absolutely cheated. I had several WhatsApps with them after because I was confused by the extra charge, they didn't budge. Management apparently values that $153 more than hotel guest experience. We also ate dinner at the hotel twice, $200 and tipped generously, $1000 Turkish Lira. Still the hotel management didn't care. In addition, our cave room (again family suite very nice and large) shed some rock from the ceiling on night 1 onto our kids floors and beds (part of the experience, not anyone's fault). But also, no hot water throughout our two night stay in the master bath. So for $2K total two nights and that "awesome" extra charge after you check out would you stay here? I'm Marriott Ambassador and have been for 15 years, I'm just not used to hotel management treating our family this way. Luckily (and we feel blessed) to have stayed at some of the best hotels in EUR. Shame too because the staff was nothing short of wonderful. If you're a vistor from the US please stay at Argos which is a 1 minute walk away, more luxury and wouldn't likely swat you an extra fee after you already checked out! We stayed two days again at the end of June 2025 (and literally the hotel was mostly empty)

What a beautiful hotel! We were so very pleased with the accommodations here for many reasons. First, the view is simply stunning and we saw the balloons flying past all three days of our stay. Watching the balloons from the terrace with a hot cup of tea while the sun rises is an incredible experience.||Next, the food here was excellent. We ate in the restaurant one night as the sun set across the valley and finally had the chance to try the pottery kabob which was delivered to the table flaming and was delicious. The full Turkish breakfasts were huge and looked like a photo spread from a fancy magazine. From fresh bread (five different types) to olives and spreads of all sorts, eggs cooked to order, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and more - it was amazing.||Our family suite was lovely, though the second bedroom did not have a door. Not an issue for our family, but if you were traveling with someone who needed more privacy, it could be. The primary bathroom was huge and the hot water was plentiful.||The Taskonaklar team set up all of our arrangements: car to and from the airport, two days of guides, and our balloon ride. They made it so very easy to do everything that we wanted to! All of the employees we interacted with were smiling and seemed delighted to have us there. They projected an overall friendly and welcoming vibe.

This was highlight to our Turkey holiday. This is possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed in. It was luxurious, we stayed 3 nights. We could not find any fault, it was perfect. The staff and the way we were treated was exceptional. They were extremely helpful and friendly. Every request was met. The food was fabulous, the rooms were extremely clean, comfortable and cosy. The service was 10/10. We had a room with the spa and fireplace with our own balcony. It was impressive. The view was incredible overlooking the valleys of Cappadocia and we could see the balloons from our room and balcony each morning at sunset. Ii was a great location, very quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay in Uçhisar. Room was super clean and comfortable. We had a room with a balcony with an absolutely incredible view, but both the common space and restaurant where breakfast is share the same beautiful view if your room doesn’t have one. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. 100% recommend.

Wonderful experience. Focus on details. Very friendly and positive. Unique view and atmosphere. We only had breakfast and Drinks in the evening. Fantastic. They earn to be mentioned in the Michelin Guide. We can recommend 100% and will be back for sure!

Amazing experience. Stayed three nights and ate breakfast and dinner at hotel. We would have stayed much longer had we been able to. Beautiful hotel, room was clean and spacious, bed most comfortable, service exceptional. Particular thanks to the following staff: Meryem, Burch and Resul. The location is probably the best in Uchisar with stunning views of the valley. Numerous intimate common areas to enjoy the view and a nice drink. Rooms are well spaced so you never get the impression of a large crowd. Restaurant is beautifully located with floor to ceiling windows with views of the valley below. Here again, staff was very professional, polite and efficient. Menu gives the chef’s interpretation of traditional Turkish food in addition to additional excellent option. Breakfast was copious and delicious

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Taskonaklar and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay a very pleasant one! I have to highlight the lovely Harun who was our main contact before our arrival via email and for the duration for our stay. The recommended balloon, city tours etc and treks are a must and they didn't disappoint! Amazing place! The only con about the room (we got 102) was that it was a bit on the dark and gloomy side I guess that what you get living in a cave hotel! On the flip side it did have a delightful outside area to lounge in.

From the moment you step into this local hotel you feel the uniqueness of Cappadocia. The service is impeccable and the rooms are spacious and extremely clean. Jaro and Iso (i hope i have the correct spelling ) were very welcoming. The views are amazing day or night. Definitely a place that should be on everyone’s bucket list . Thank you to our travel agent Travel with July for suggesting this gem !
