"Carved out of the volcanic terrain, the cave hotels of Cappadocia follow in the great architectural tradition of this region of Turkey. In your luxe cave, you have a stone bathtub just behind the bed, along with a large living room and private patio with panoramic views of the terrain." - Yolanda Evans

"It’s a concept we first saw in Italy, but it’s no less compelling in Turkey: not just a building but an entire village, abandoned by its residents during hard times in the 20th century, rehabilitated and restored by an adventurous developer into a hotel that blends the best of the ancient and modern worlds. Taskonaklar takes the village of Uçhisar as its raw material and transforms it into the kind of immersive experience that stand-alone hotels can only dream about." - MICHELIN Guide

Beautiful cave hotel with gorgeous rooms. Our bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were massive. The common areas were peaceful and pretty. The room offered a private terrace though it was actually more of a public space. And there isn't a pool or a gym but those weren't essential. The staff was friendly and welcoming. And the breakfast is excellent. We also ate at the hotel for dinner and loved our experience. Overall great stay!

This hotel was amazing. There are lots of steps, to be expected as it has many rooms in the caves. Breakfast was amazing. Bed really comfortable. Great views. Easy walk to Uchisar castle and about a 20 minute stroll to Pigeon Valley entrance. Where there is a good wine tasting at Kocabag winery.|Plenty of places to eat nearby and a small supermarket and wine shop.|Beautiful views from the hotel. |Sadly we had three nights here but due to the weather we didn’t get our balloon flight or to watch them from the hotel terrace.|We did seem them flying on our drive to the airport from our taxi

Very nice boutique hotel. Impressed with personal service during our stay, we are a family of 5 with 2 children. Well looked after in particular by Resul. Rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was elaborate to cater for everyone’s taste, Resul, made us feel very comfortable with all the information required to see the main areas of Cappadocia during our stay. Grateful for the recommendation and arrangement of the day tour with Ezqi , who provided us with an excellent tour tailored to our needs. I would recommend her as a guide if anyone interested , please talk to Resul. Also the hot air balloon experience arranged by Resul was truly an amazing experience .

I am writing this review on our last evening staying here because I don’t want to forget to write how absolutely amazing it it. Every member of staff is so welcoming and helpful. The hotel is beautiful, it’s the perfect balance of stunning and intimate. The views are breathtaking. We stayed in the design cave suite and upgraded to another suite with a hot tub, both rooms were gorgeous. The food is great too, especially the breakfast. We don’t normally visit anywhere abroad twice but we will be back. Cappadocia is such a beautiful place and this is a fabulous location, just a £5 taxi to Göreme. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special 🥰 you are all amazing!

Until this day not a day that goes by without remembering this amazing experience. A few months ago we visited Cappadocia and chose this hotel for a few days stay . I can not begin to describe how beautiful it was. Everything was simply amazing right from the beginning. Upon arrival someone was there to open our taxi door and take all of our belongings straight to the room . They didn’t let us carry anything. When we opened our suite we were speechless. Everything was perfect , spotless. Bathroom was huge ( can throw a party in the bathroom). My partner fell in love with the towels 🤦‍♀️ such luxurious. The room was incredible, huge , clean . When we arrive my partner wanted to watch the football game and couldn’t get the tv to work and they were very attentive to fix it and make sure he got to watch the game . Everything was absolutely outstanding. Including the laundry service was 5⭐️ incredibly fast we got everything perfectly clean and pressed within hours . Now the food is beyond amazing . If I could give it 10 ⭐️ I would . This restaurant gave us the best breakfast ever . From the moment we sat down until everything was on the table was no more than 5 min wait . Food was delicious, fresh , tasty and perfectly served. The views for breakfast were breathtaking. Dinner was incredible too : I remember we arrived late from our tour and they welcomed us to eat . It was a bit chilly outside and one of the waiters noticed I was cold and within 5 min I had a blanket at the table . The cocktails were simply delicious and unique . Room service was above and beyond. And our guests aka hotel cats waiting for us everyday on the terrace were soooo cute . Overall experience was outstanding. Our only “complaint “ was that the room we booked was a suite with a view of the valley except that the view was obstructed we booked valley view but we got hotel garden view as probably they put us in the only suite available. I suggest you to contact theme before booking and make sure there will be a room valley view not resort reception / garden view . Regardless we highly recommend this .5⭐️

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. This is a beautiful cave hotel with a spectacular view of the valley, the layout is picturesque in every corner. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and amenities top notch. Staff were super friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Food was superb. I would definitely go back to Taskonaklar Hotel in my next visit.

The room : pros- spacious and cozy with a great “cave” vibe. Huge bathroom with good water pressure. Terrace was big with great views. Thankfully they give you a “pillow” menu because the initial pillow they had on the bed were too thick and firm. Cons - it was definitely not “quiet”. There were loud banging noises throughout the night that kept me awake… I have no idea where it was coming from but it was very disruptive. Also our room was right at the hotel entrance so we could hear other guests and staff members coming and going. You could hear the room service staff knocking on doors of other rooms… definitely not as quiet as I expected. Finally, the mini bar had incredibly limited snack options. The hotel grounds - it’s a very small hotel with only one restaurant and two small sitting areas. The sitting areas had a nice view but the lounge chairs were not comfortable. It was cold (in early October) but they don’t have heating lamps or fire pits for the outdoor areas. No pool, spa or gym. I only ever saw 10 other guests (total) on the grounds during our stay so depending on the vibe you’re looking for… it’s either “quiet and serene” or “uninhabited and deserted”. It’s a 5 minute walk to nearby restaurants and there’s a pharmacy and coffee shop that are a 3-5 minute walk away. The food- though there was only was restaurant , the food is great. We had breakfast and lunch there and enjoyed both meals. At breakfast they give you a wonderful spread with different breads and pastries and you can order additional items (their veggie omelette was fantastic!). The service- The evening front desk lady who was attentive and great. We wanted pizza and the hotel doesn’t serve any so she called around to local restaurants to try and get us a reservation. She was the only one who provided any real “service”. We ordered room service and it took so long for it to arrive that we thought they had forgotten about us. I am uncertain why it took so long, especially since there were so few guests staying there at the time. There were lots of staff around but they were always cleaning, mopping, rearranging furniture, or watering the grounds, instead of checking in on the guests. You don’t get any service in the sitting areas and have to walk up to the bar (if it was staffed), or the restaurant. On our last morning at the breakfast, a woman who I assume was the restaurant manager was walking around with the employees rearranging carpets and furniture. She decided to have a staff meeting right behind us as we were trying to enjoy breakfast… which again left something to be desired both for ambience and for service. Lastly, when we asked for recommendations on places to eat, their only answer was “our restaurant”. They weren’t helpful in making recommendations for activities or restaurants. All in all, the stay was fine. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I genuinely have no negatives for this hotel, the room was beautiful, the effort the staff put into us having the best stay- was noted and very much appreciated. It was our wedding anniversary whilst we were there which they had made feel really special, the hotel vibe is very much peaceful and stunning, the views were amazing, and a fab location for exploring
