"One of the best dining options in this attractive town on the Costa Verde, this contemporary restaurant located next to the Castelo de Santiago da Barra occupies a docks warehouse in which the large attractive fish and seafood tanks take pride of place. Its owners are fish wholesalers, hence the top-quality fish and seafood that is on offer here, normally sold by weight and at prices that are highly competitive. You won’t find a single meat dish on the menu here! Make sure you save space for desserts made by the owners’ daughter!" - Michelin Inspector

We booked Tasquinha da Linda for a private corporate reception and dinner. The evening started with cocktails and appetizers outside on the patio. We followed up with a wonderful four course dinner inside. Delightful fresh seafood is their specialty. Everything was delicious and the service from Linda, Sergio and Anais was spectacular. It felt like we were invited over to their home for a family feast. Prices are high for Viana do Castelo but still a bargain compared to US or the rest of continental Europe for the quality of food and service.

Very attentive staff and good value. Good to mention a good wine list with a variety of prices. Highly recommendable.

We came very spontanious and did not know anything about the restaurant before. The food was very fresh and delicious. Happy we found the place and definitly worth visiting when you are in the city.

What makes this place enormous is the stuff who took a great care about our table and order. Not only by drop-and-go, but waitresses had also recommended for us favorite options among drinks and desserts. It’s obvious that they know what is being sell in the menu and are able to adapt to the guest expectations. The food was not that spectacular as we thought it will be, however still done well and served nicely. Restaurant near the port with a cost design inside.

We were there at october 2024 and it was a memorable experience. However, at January 2025, the experience of the cataplana was only 'tolerable'... For the level of price and for the Michelin guide reference, the food needs to be 'very well prepared and good '. It was not the case: too much potatoes, fish not soft, shrimps not tender, slouch preparation...

We had high hopes for Taquinha da Linda, having been recommended by our hotel for high quality seafood, and therefore were left feeling quite underwhelmed. We were quickly shown to our table, and given our food menus before a waiter immediately came around offering starters from a tray. Peckish, we chose the crab pate before querying where the drinks menu could be found as none had been given to us. Selecting the monkfish and prawns rice dish for two people as our main, we tucked into the delectable pate. It was then that our experience took a turn for the worse. It was nearly an hour between our crab pate and receiving our main dish. This consisted of a deep saucepan of monkfish, small prawns (which hadn't been de-veined) and rice, in a watery fish stock with a hint of paprika and sprig of parsley. Whilst the monkfish was plentiful and tasty, the stock had no depth, which was surprising given it had taken an hour to make its way to our table. I was expecting more for the price.

It is an excellent place to enjoy an authentic Portuguese "Seafood" meal, prepared superbly with fresh ingredients and served with enchanted wine (the house wine is just great). The atmosphere and services are what you expect of a fine Portuguese eatery. Enjoy your meal, and mention that Joaquim sent you there!

Upmarket fish and seafood restaurant. We had the seafood platter for 2. Excellent and plenty: different crabs, rock lobster, clams, mussels, gooseneck barnacles, shrimp, … Stylish interior(in contrast to the somewhat scruffy harbour). Service professional but lacks warmth. Surprised they do not serve (sparkling) wine by the glass, this day and age. Nonetheless an enjoyable culinary experience.
