My wife and I were in the area for a musical at SD Broadway, and as is the norm, headed over to The Local to catch a bite. Turns out that they were opening late this particular day, so we went wandering around the area to see what's open. We stumbled across Taste & Thirst, perused the menu, and decided to have a seat.
We were greeted immediately by the waitress/hostess/bar keep (all the same person), who gave us menus and took our drink orders. A few minutes later, she stopped by to take our order - my wife ordered the chicken strips w/fries, and I ordered a small plate of boneless chicken wings w/teriyaki sriracha.
While we waited, we checked out the place - DEFINITELY a Cheers kinda place - everyone seemed to know everyone.....at least 5-6 TVs scattered throughout, with various sporting events playing. And the ceiling decor was awesome - rows and rows of old beer pulls. Clever idea!
We got our order, and were pleasantly surprised. The chicken strips were sliced chicken breast - and the boneless chicken wings were cubed chicken breast - both cooked to perfection.
In fact, the ONLY downside was that the place was extremely understaffed (pretty much the norm these days, it seems).
Bottom line, great food (and while we didn't partake, a HUGE line of beer pulls behind the counter!) - definitely recommended.
