If you are looking for authentic, great tasting Chinese food, then this is the place. Since we first decided to give this place a try, we have gone back 3 times. All 3 times, the food did not disappoint. Highly recommended!

I had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant! The staff were friendly, attentive, and ensured that every detail of our meal was perfect. The highlight of our meal was the Green Pepper Spicy Fish — a must-try for anyone who enjoys bold flavors and a little heat! The fish was cooked to perfection, tender and fresh, complemented by the perfect balance of spice and the aromatic green peppers. It was absolutely delicious! If you’re looking for an authentic, flavorful experience, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Google
Been here twice. Food is ok mostly, but not impressive. The crispy fish fillet feels artificial. The lamb drypot is terrible. I could not even tell if it is lamb or some lamb-flavored-duck stuff. The twice-cook pork is bad. It does not feel fresh. Chef is terrible at cooking. The dish has too much oil, but the pork is not stir-fried enough. I don't care how you advertise, but truth is in the food.

They have many yummy dishes, recommand to their soup dish, others also good, will be my choice if I come to buy groceries at 99 ranch nearby. Enjoy.

This “Taste of Chengdu” is now called “Zhang’s Bistro” with the same owner, the same chef and the same good old great taste! This phanomanal restaurant located behind the Carrollion's Ranch 99 Supermarket is a new hidden gem that my husband and I discovered last week! Although there is no gorgeous facade outside the restaurant to attract customers, the space after entering the restaurant is not small, which is a bit surprising. We ordered four dishes: Dry Fried Pork Intestine, Sauteed Potato Egplant & Bell Pepper, Spicy Boiled Beef, and Preserved Egg With Spicy Pepper. The speed at which the dishes were served was incredible. Less than five minutes after we ordered the dishes, they were served one after another, and they were steaming hot, filling the air with the food fragrant! Every dish is extremely delicious, the "Dry Fried Pork Intestine" is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the "Preserved Egg With Spicy Pepper" is super spicy and will definitely challenge your tongue! "Sauteed Potato Egplant & Bell Pepper" is sweet and juicy, and can provide you with enough fiber for two days. What surprised me the most was the "Spicy Boiled Beef". I can guarantee that this is the best Sichuan-style boiled beef we have ever tasted. The beef is really soft, soft, tender and juicy, and it's so fragrant and tender. I ate half a bowl of extra rice! This restaurant really has a very authentic Chengdu taste, and it sure matches up to its name, The food here are really phenomenally delicious! Highly recommend everyone to come here to dine, and we surely will come visit here over and over again! 1st visit: 08/30/2024 (4 pics) 2nd visit: 09/05/2024 (5 pics) 3rd visit: 09/13/2024 (6pics) 4th visit: 11/19/2024 (no pics) 5th visit: 12/04/2024 (3pics) 6th visit: 03/02/2025 (4pics) 7th visit: 03/10/2025 (4pics) 9th visit: 04/30/2025 Honestly, we were starting to get disappointed with this restaurant. This was our 9th visit here and it definitely feels like it's going downhill. The taste of the dishes could not remain the same. The boss went back to China, and the dishes became saltier. And not just ordinary salty... My husband's favorite dish, "Sauteed Cauliflower W.Cured Meat" (腊肉炒花菜), was sloppy in presentation, with very little meat, not even a few pieces of meat. Very disappointed... Hope it can be restored to its original state, otherwise we will not actively recommend this place again...

Google
Now called Zhangs Bistro, although different owners and chef supposedly, the food is just as good as I remember. Orange chicken, stir fried green beans, mapo tofu, dan dan noodles, and wontons in chili oil are really great. Still dont like the scallion pancake, almost no scallion, and the oil tastes funny. Lots more I want to try here.

Google
Good place to have taste of sichuan without drivng all the way to north dallas. The taste is pretty close. The twice cooked pork had a nice smoky flavor. The mapo tofu had the right sauce consistency and the tofu did not lose the shape. Chonqking chicken was extermely fresh and crunchy coming from the hot oil and it was delightful to eat. Would go really well with a beer. The beef with pickeld vegetables was a surprise, given the amount of tender beef slices that came with it. Still kinda mad I had to pay for the bowl of rice. Came back a second time to get the special fish. It was expensive (anything market price is ) except when did tilapia become a luxury market price item.. Anyways for almost 40$, it was a disappointment. Fish was small and had very little meat on it. The texture was kinda off, a little mushy but it didnt taste fishy at least Place has rebranded. Its now Zhangs Bistro, still serving Sichuan fare. Unsure if new ownership but menu is different

Google
The combination dry hot pot was AMAZING, had the perfect mix of meats & seafood with a great variety of veggies and mushroom, it was not like those places that give you 80% veggies and 20% meats… it was a great dish. I only had an issue with the fish of the other dish (boiled fish Szechuan style) just because it was very difficult to eat with all the bones… still great though if you can get past that (and the hefty $40 price for that dish). It was authentic and delicious.

Yelp
Really good food. First time having Mapo tofu and I'm now a fan. Chicken was velvety too.

Yelp
A5, c2, v10. That's what I had as a draft, and what I assume we ate. Since I already had 4 stars up there, I'm going to stick with that. One thing I can say, is that the flavors are very authentic, and not Americanized. I was here with my wife Thuy, and friend of more than 23 years, Mark. We have all worked all over China. Mark even lived there for MANY years. If you are looking for authentic, this is the place.

Yelp
Overall: 3.5/5 Food: All of food was decent. Lots of them tasted well over seasoned with garlic. Luckily, I love garlic, but my brother didn't. - Pork wonton in chili oil: I thought it would be spicy, but it wasn't. It was good, but I expected some spice. - Ma Po Tofu: I love mapo tofu. It's my favorite sichuan dish. My favorite mapo tofu is in San Antonio at a restaurant called Tiger Chinese Cuisine. Ever since graduating college, I moved back to Dallas and was in search for a mapo tofu dish similar to it. It wasn't similar, but it was still good. It wasn't my favorite, but if I really am craving mapo tofu, I'll go here because this is the best I've found so far. - Dan Dan noodles: it was the best dish out of the four! Very flavorful, make sure to mix fully as the sauce is all in the bottom. - Chongqing spicy chicken: it's good, but acquired taste due to the peppercorn. The chicken is spicy and floral. It's good, but not what we expected. Service: Our server was very nice and helpful. He was well knowledgeable and helpful. Ambiance: It was very traditional and big. Lots of room and good for family and friends.

Yelp
Delicious Sichuan foods, highly recommended pork belly. Newly opened in the area with nice table arrangements and lights. Good services.

Yelp
Although this restaurant looks nice inside it unfortunately lacked flavor and food was very Luke warm. Like it was sitting out for some time. We had several dishes and none really tasted too great. Service was ok as we struggled to communicate with the waiter.

Yelp
Food tastes good and friendly staffs, but I think it's too pricey. However, there isn't any similar restaurant within close proximity.

Yelp
Just came back from a vacation where I had no Asian food for 11 days so I was craving all the typical bold flavors SO bad. I've heard great things about how authentic Chengdu's dishes were so I decided to stop by for dinner the day after I came back. We ordered 1 of each protein just to see which dishes we would like more. When I tell you all of these dishes were equally good, I'm totally not exaggerating! Each dish was so flavorful, great spice level and seasoned to perfection. Nothing was bland, overly salty or too sweet. A group of 4 of use killed all these dishes and I would go back in a heartbeat! I usually order dessert, but we were so stuffed and the food was so satisfying that I forgot all about desserts haha. Definitely add this spot to your foodie list!

Yelp
Hmmmm.... I am truly mixed about this place. I would say probably a 3.25 stars? We came here for a Wednesday night dinner, the place was empty, then another couple came. We were the only 2 tables there the whole time. The service was fast and maybe the owner came and chatted with me a bit. Nice folks. We ordered fish fillet in hot chili oil, spicy combination in hot pot, and orange chicken for the kids. Spicy combination in hot pot was decent, but the intestines had just a little bit stronger flavor for my taste. The sauce inside was flavorful. The fish fillet in hot chili oil was so so. Not spicy and not enough boldness in flavor. The fish had a bit of weird taste to it. Could be freshness issue. The portion was fair. Overall okay. Not a place I want to actively coming back.

Yelp
Next weekend is Lunar New Year but we wanted to celebrate early! My hubby and I had a date planned for Saturday afternoon to get this for take out, watch Everything Everywhere All at Once and enjoy NFL playoffs. I walked right in at 11am with my order already written out. I knew this would be a splurge for just the two of us but I'd have tons of leftovers - so it's a win win. We ordered crab rangoon (hubby), pork wontons in hot soy sauce, Chengdu spare ribs (medium), spicy dry pot with shrimp, lotus root, black fungus & shiitake mushrooms and bean sprouts (medium), 1/2 a Peking duck and shrimp fried rice. I wanted only a side of fried rice but they don't offer that so I had to order an entree sized portion. It came out promptly in 15 mins, I doubled checked the order in the parking lot and zoomed home! The aroma in the car was torture. It smelled so good! As soon as I got home, I spread out our own buffet and we dug in. The wontons, I'm afraid, just aren't transportable. They're still very tasty but they sort of stuck together with the steam. Dining in they're fantastic! So, I wouldn't order those to go again. I put a base of the shrimp fried rice down, then spooned the dry pot stir fry over that. The dish is brought alive by the oil and chilies, then the other ingredients are wonderfully added in. YUM! My hubby had never had that before and he loved it. The spare ribs, piled high with more chili peppers, a few green bell pepper slices with onion were good. Salty, flavorful, spicy, just what we were after! The duck.. oh my goodness. I felt bad that the skin soaked in all the steam on the ride home, I bet that would've been good but I like my duck skin crispy so I pulled that off. I ate about 4 of those little wraps by myself! First, slather some hoisin in the middle, add the duck, then the cucumber and onion. I think this may be the first time I've ever had those little wraps - and when you get a bite of that all together.. it is soooo good. It's not a fancy place to dine in, it's definitely IMO convenient to sharing dishes. I will go back for more dry pot, always get those ribs! And, it's definitely a splurge - all those delicious things soaking in spicy chili oil makes my tongue sizzle. Even with medium, my nose started to sweat a little and that's a good sign that I'm in the heat zone! So, go ahead and step out of your comfort zone. Give it a try! Go there, get some. Life is too short for boring food. *Edited after eating the duck in tacos for dinner. I eat pretty healthy most of the time so my stomach was not prepared for the richness of the duck - or spiciness of the dry pot (think stir fry). My tummy was hurting overnight and into the morning.

Yelp
Ambience is appropriate. Traditional style setting and most likely the cooking as well. Service is fast and courteous with younger age staffs which is good. I always like lots of garlic and peppercorn dishes however they are not as spicy although I requested 5/5 but that's ok. Chicken was over cooked (was dried and rather chewy) in the Chongqing spicy chicken dish. Noodles was a tad too mushy to my likings. The julienne ginger in the spicy noodle soup is some getting used to. I would go back and try other dishes again.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal there. Staff was attentive albeit not super friendly. Decor is nicely appointed and reminds me of chengdu for some reason (probably because it was always Grey and cloudy there). You can order from the online menu which is accessible with QR code. Mung bean jelly was a little more vinegary than other places I've tried. Rice is $1 a bowl. I like the tea pot - got nice heft. The marinated trotted is served warm and isn't spicy. My kid appreciated that. Tan tan noodles was more peanuty than other places but not overbearing. The deep fried chicken cube with dry chili pepper (bone in) isn't the same size chicken as the other boneless dish. The pieces are much bigger. And actually they aren't cubes. They're pieces of chicken. I really enjoyed the ice jelly which was cooling from all the ma la. It has rice wine I think. And it's not too sweet.

Yelp
Great price for dry pot, left the two of us very full. The restaurant is in a nice area with a lot of other restaurants or dessert places to go after.

Yelp
There is no secret, I love Sichuan food, so it was necessary I try Taste of Chengdu. Came here on a weeknight with a friend and we were quickly served. We ordered the crab rangoons, the chongqinng chicken, and the custom spicy dry pot. The rangoons were ok, but didn't have any crab in them, so I wouldn't recommend these. The other two dishes are must trys. The Chongqing chicken is actually some of the best I've tried. The dish was perfectly seasoned! In the dry pot, I chose beef belly, shrimp, bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms with a medium spicy flavor. The flavor is great, but for my personal taste I would go mild next time so I can enjoy the flavors more. Overall great experience and I'd visit again!

Yelp
one of my favorite sichuan places i've been to. a 3.5 star rating on a chinese restaurant means you know it's gonna be amazing. i loved everything we ordered: mala fish with tofu, chongqing chicken cubes (boneless comes crispy, bone in comes sauteed), mapo tofu, water spinach, and mala jelly appetizer). server was so kind to consider us and put in our order before a neighboring large party :P food came out quickly and fresh and hot and good portions with great prices. Took home a bunch and now i'm enjoying the rest at home. my favorite part about this place is that the fish filets are actually seasoned and flavored and not just tossed in frozen to be stewed. will definitely bring my family back to eat here. good for large parties, single diners and everything in between.

Gene H.

Yelp
Love the new chef! My two favorites and I highly recommend them. Best I've ever had in Dallas or NYC/NJ! Fragrant and spicy fish fillets and the unassuming but perfectly executed eggplant in garlic sauce! Holy moly! Amazing! You have to try it!

Yelp
We had a large delivery order for thanksgiving dinner. The kung pao shrimp and the Peking duck are authentic... like, right off the boat. (I have well over 150 trips to china in my travel log) The meal overall was quite good. And far closer to authentic than most chinglish restaurants that you find in the area. I have no idea what the place is like inside... but the food was excellent.

Thomas A.

Yelp
Not as good as before (new ownership). The chongqing chicken (pictured) is something we have always ordered but this version is much drier (almost burnt ... look at previous pics on yelp for how this chicken looked and you'll see this version has much smaller and darker chicken ... no more crispy breading). The rest of the food was decent. Hope they improve bc this was our go-to for Szechuan.
google avatar

Yelp
We were surprised that there was country music playing in here when we entered but the food was pretty authentic. We expected Chinese music, and when my husband and I joked about that with our waiter he laughed and changed the music for us! Very lovely staff, everyone who worked there ended up stopping by our table to say hi to us, it was sweet, you can tell they love what they do! Food was pretty delicious! We ordered our favorites, mapo tofu, chili oil boiled fish and a few cold apps and everything was well seasoned and tasty. The cucumbers are always a must for us! Definitely give it a try, wasn't our absolute favorite but it is our favorite in the area so far!

Yelp
Tried some new things from this restaurant! -sesame chicken: very yummy! -chengdu spare ribs: didn't like it so much. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, just a personal preference. I found it to be dry and very spicy.

Yelp
The service, cleanliness, speed, and food presentation deserve 5 Stars. Everything else... The Wontons were the worst I've ever had. They were dry and spongy. The Peking Duck was OK but served cold. The spring rolls were hot on the outside but almost frozen on the inside. Would I give them a second chance? Maybe. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yelp
Behind 99 ranch. I think this is the first time having Sichuan. One kid doesn't like spicy and the other loves spicy, so I was a little worried that he wouldn't find anything he would want to eat. We talked about eating Fat ni since he brought me skewers from there the night before. We parked and walking toward fat ni, husband decided on Taste of Chengdu.. so didn't even have a chance to look at the menu. It's okay cuz there was plenty of non spicy options for him. We walked in and the hostess looked at us like we were lost..lol. She said you want eat here? Husband said yes. Everything on the menu sounds amazing. Husband asked if I wanted an appetizer and I picked wontons in chili oil. He told the waitress wontons in chicken soup. I guess I gave him a crazy look cuz the waitress giggled. Then busted out laughing when she brough the wontons in chicken soup and I asked for chili oil. Haha. They were good in the chicken soup, but the chili oil made them even better. Son got the shredded duck noodle soup. I loved that duck noodle soup, it was tasty and flavorful. It would've been better spicy. I got the Chengdu spare ribs. So much flavor. I loved it. Also ordered sauteed shrimp in case son didn't like his duck soup. Plenty of food. Big portion sizes!! Social distancing, cleaned our table before we sat down, and hand sanitizer at the door. My only complaint? is that I don't live closer.. :)

Yelp
Very authentic cuisine, the staff and chef is very nice. The cumin lamb is very good.

Yelp
Very good Chengdu food, recommended for people who like spicy food. Everyone is very friendly, especially Sevy, an American who speaks Chinese very well.

Yelp
SUMMARY: This should easily be a 4 star place. Why the negative reviews? Chengdu-style restaurant in Carrollton that has consistently served good food and good enough service. Sometimes hard to flag down the servers, but once you get their attention, they've always gotten us what we want. BACKGROUND I used to love a similarly named restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley in LA, so thinking it was a branch out here in TX, we happily went. Been here 3 times now. FOOD We've had some really good dishes and some mediocre ones. The ones that have really stood out have been almost 5's, but for some reason have been knocked down 1 star for personal preference. One of our go-to's has been their Peking duck. Really nice, tender duck meat, nicely presented and served with scallions, pancakes, and dipping sauce. On the last, the dipping sauce has a slightly sour taste to it that I personally don't like. (4/5) Also they're a bit stingy with the pancakes so we have ordered more (not free). They have this nice Chengdu style fried chicken w/ peppers (you know, the dish where they top a ton of chilis on them) and while not as good as the restaurant in LA, its still pretty good (4/5). On the veggie side, they make this excellent stir fried green bean dish. Really simple, but delicious (5/5). Some have not been so good. Last time we ordered egg plant. The chef must've forgot that he put oil in there and added another ladle of oil. We took it home, put it through a sieve and served it over rice (3/5 for the prep). SERVICE Sometimes excellent, sometimes hard to flag a staff member down. But they always deliver what you want. RETURN VISIT? Yes, not our our first choice when we go eat in that plaza but always that place that serves as a good 2nd option/runner up.

Yelp
So disappointed. I don't have a lot of real traditional Chinese restaurants near the house and was excited to see this place was around. We ordered the dry hot pot (beef, potatoes, mushrooms, and cabbage), pork belly with tea tree mushrooms, dry-pot spare ribs, dandan noodles, the vegetable deluxe and spring rolls. The potatoes that came in the hot pot were very undercooked and almost on the point of raw. We didn't end up getting the pork belly with mushrooms, but the pork belly with leeks instead. We also didn't get the dandan noodles at all. We ended up calling Ubereats who delivered our food and they assured us that the order was placed correctly with the restaurant. The real fault is on the restaurant in my opinion as everything I ordered came through their system at the restaurant. Not to mention we were out of the money for the dishes that we paid for. To continue, the spring rolls had a weird texture to them and tasted mushy. Not mushy on the outside or in the sense that it was fried and was sitting out for a minute. More like the inside vegetables were a little off, mushy. The two things I enjoyed about the meal was the overall mala flavor for the hot pot and the spare ribs which were tender. The menu hear sounded nice but the execution was off.

Yelp
I came in with three friends for lunch and we each left full, content, and still carrying leftovers thanks to the generous portions. It was my first time finally trying mabo dofu and a very high bar has been set. It was only mildly spicy and the Sichuan peppers were pleasant but not overwhelming. I also had a very delicious tofu vegetable stew that was so fresh and hot I had to wait for it to cool down. My friends were all quite happy with their meals. The restaurant was quiet and clean. Can't ask for much more than that.

Yelp
I came here today, it is under new mgmt and new chef....oh my this is a real Sichuan/Chengdu food. Love 'em and service is great as well

Yelp
Its nice to have authentic chinese food in the carrollton area! There aren't many Chinese places around considering the area is ktown, but i'm glad this place opened up. They have a wide variety of sichuan style dishes. Most of everything i ordered has been quite good. Some of my favorites are fish or beef in hot oil, garlic pork belly, and smoked pork belly. The fish or beef in hot oil are cooked nicely and very tender, lots of flavor and perfect amount of kick in the spices. They also have chinese-american dishes which are better than other comparable places! The lunch specials come at a compelling price and they serve quickly, so its a good place to stop by for a quick lunch as well. if I don't feel like driving up to plano for chinese food, then this place hits the spot nicely.
google avatar

Andre B.

Yelp
I have never understood why this place isn't always packed. I take many of my friends there and it usually becomes their favorite place to eat as well. The menu has a lot of choices ranging from the usual Chinese food (e.g., Orange Chicken) to Szechuan cuisine (e.g., tripe in hot chili oil). I prefer to stay in the middle of that range. We always go with the Chongqing Spicy Chicken (boneless) and Beef in Hot Sauce. Then we try something different like the ribs, cumin beef or something else depending on the adventure level of our friends. Highly recommended. Go and try it!

Yelp
Taste of Chengdu is a hidden away in the back of a plaza shared by the likes of Wei Buffet and the 99 Ranch Market and is definitely easy to miss as they're in the far corner. I'm glad I found a place that serves several of the authentic Chinese dishes that I've grown up eating. Food is good, not great, but good given the price of the food. There are a few hits and definite misses from what our party ordered. Spicy Dry-Sautéed String Beans - This dish is definitely a favorite amongst our family. It was very tasty cooked through but still had good texture to it. Seasoning was a bit heavy, but still very good. Braised Beef Noodle Soup - The price point is good and the portions were agreeable as we were able to share it with 2 kids and an adult. Soup was good despite being a bit bland. There a few places in the DFW that do it much better like King Noodle in Richardson. The vegetables were fresh, noodles were just okay as it tasted it a bit overcooked. Shredded Pork with Dry Bean Curd - This dish was very good and tasted like what I used to get at home. Not overly seasoned, but well flavored. There was a tinge of oiliness to it, much to my delight, and a very good ratio of pork to dry bean curd. This dish hit the spot for me and always goes great with a bowl of steamed rice. Steamed Buns - This is their version of steamed juice dumplings or xiao long bao. However, this was far from what anyone would want. They were definitely over cooked in my opinion. The skins were extremely thick as well. Flavors were just okay. Nothing to be impressed with. I can't be sure if this dish would have been anywhere near better if they hadn't obviously overcooked it. They had completely forgotten that we ordered this dish until we had literally finished our entire meal. Overall, the food is good for the few we liked. Lots of misses. Service was not the greatest as it seems we were forgotten and they didn't quite remember all the food we ordered. Forgotten dishes should not have been delivered overcooked. It's unfortunate because I really wanted to like this place and had no expectations walking in. My stomach was full when leaving because of the few good dishes they had, but in the back of my mind I had a lingering heartache for the poor execution and delivery of what should've been better food.

Er D.

Yelp
I should have know at lunch the place was a ghost town. A red flag for me. I ordered the lunch Mapo Tofu. Comes with soup and egg roll. The soup came with the entree and egg roll never came. Worst hot and sour I have ever tasted. Average Mapo. Poor service. This place is in a China Town area and should be better. Won't be open long

Yelp
Food & service was wonderful! My bf really likes sichuan food so he wanted to come try this place after seeing it on Facebook. He is a huge fan of the spicy chicken & this place definitely nailed it. Perfect level of spice without being overly oily and leaving a bad feeling in your stomach. The chili oil wontons were so yummy as well. Will definitely come back to this place!

Yelp
I'm happy to have a Sichuan restaurant finally in the Ranch 99 Carrollton complex. It's authentic tasting Sichuan food which means spicy, however they do have a ton of dishes that aren't spicy as well. Favorite dishes: stir-fried scallion beef (highly recommend, the beef is sooo tender), stir-fried rice cake, garlic eggplant, kung pao chicken, and tomato and egg. All the dishes I've had are really good, you can taste the wok flavor into them if you know what I mean. The service is alright, but sometimes when they're really busy you do have to chase down a sever. If you're craving Chinese food, specifically Sichuan don't hesitate to check Taste of Chengdu out!

Nicole B.

Yelp
I ordered some takeout the other night and it was tasty. I got my favorite, spicy garlic eggplant. It could have had a bit more kick to it and was pretty oily, but was tasty enough that I did finish it all. If I was at home (or in the restaurant) I would have probably added a dash of sriracha.
google avatar

William L.

Yelp
Yelled at my wife because she didn't like the fish dish. Plain water with no flavor and mushy fish that must have been purchased past expiration. Many other options that are better in this area.
google avatar

WINNIE L.

Yelp
This was so perfect! I ordered the peking duck and dandan noodles through uber eats from my hotel during a business trip. I didn't see an option to add rice, so I just put it in the comments if they could give me a small bowl of rice....and they did! It was WAY more than a small bowl and it tasted perfect. Seems like a small thing, but I really truly appreciate it. Not to mention the delicious duck and perfectly cooked dandan noodles. Saved as a favorite & will order from again!

Yelp
Don't let the rating fool u it's just because of the old service. There's now a waiter that speaks English and he's really good with refilling your water and checking on your table. The food is LEGIT ..but that was never the concern. Will come back to try other stuff on the menu!

Yelp
Go here for an authentic Chinese experience. They use tons of sichuan peppers in their cooking. Do not expect super fast service, you'll need to call the staff over if you need something, but the food more than makes up for it!

Yelp
Food and service were good! Price is reasonable. We ordered the snow pea with garlic and it was great!

Yelp
This is the worst restaurant ever. The glasses are so dirty. The containers for the soy sauce and vinegar are so dirty. We were hoping it was hole in the wall place. But it was far away from the truth. We ordered the soup dumplings. I think they used some really old oil. It was not edible. We ordered Kung pao chicken. The chicken was not cut right. There was so much tendon in it. My husband was having a bad experience. The service was the worst ever. Never ever come to this place.

Yelp
I was nearby and saw this restaurant and it was new to me so I decided to order a few things to try for carry out . I love spicy food, too. I ordered A8 - Pork Wonton in Chili Oil, L2 - Cumin Lamb stir fry and F11 - Fried Fish Filler in Chili Oil. A lot for one person, I know but this is what I do when I go to a new place. I see that a few people were disappointed in their food, I just think you are used to one thing tasting one way and think it should taste like that at all restaurants...people cook it differently. Enough said here...I'll talk about my order. A8 was great! Thick wonton wrapper wrapped around a morsel of tender pork drenched in chili oil. This tasted wonderful, I wished I had more of the sauce or ask for it on the side so that the wontons would not have soaked it all up on the way home. I mean, c'mon, there were 12 pieces. More sauce or ask for it on the side ahead of time! My two entrees were: L2 - a cumin lamb stir fried with scallions, chilies and cilantro. Juicy cuts of semi-thin lamb seasoned with cumin and chilies hit your nose and throat at the same time. F11 - fried fish fillets stir fried in chili oil with scallions and cilantro. When I opened the box, I was surprised at the amount I got. Usually I think it's like one or two large fillets but there were several. I don't know what kind of fish they used but it was thick and meaty. I will have leftovers for a couple of days but I'm happy with that I ordered without looking at Yelp or photos ahead of time. I'd definitely go back here and try some other dishes.

Yelp
Food was decent. Was expecting authentic Chinese food waitress didn't speak lick of English so it was hard to ask anything. She just stared me down when I tried to ask something so just pointed to the dish.

Yelp
The food here was amazing and my girlfriend ordered a good portion of things. We had the mung jelly soup, short ribs, cumin lamb, (the best) hot sour soup (I've ever eaten) and dan dan noodles. All were fantastic. I'm not sure if all the people complaining and giving low, low scores know what they are talking about.

Yelp
I was recommended this place and they did not disappoint. For the price of each entree, portions are huge and worth it. I found myself enjoying their noodles in soup and some of their rice dishes. 10/10 would come back whenever I'm by Carrollton.

Yelp
The food is extremely oily even though I remark on my DoorDash order to have less oil. The dish are totally wrong, not what I ordered. They did not come with any cutlery for a $17 dish. Worst thing is I ordered twice in this restaurant, my stomach got sick in both time. 1st time I feel nauseous and throw up just few mins after I finished the food. 2nd time I got upset stomach for a whole night. You can taste the oil they used are extremely bad. Avoid this restaurant for your own health.

Yelp
I am from Chengdu, this restaurant is probably the best I've had in the U.S regarding Sichuan food. The cook Mr. Feng is from Changdu and he's very very friendly and nice. Would definitely come back

Yelp
this place is not very busy so you are able to get seated quickly. there's cold, hot dishes and a wide array of selection of variety of meats. we got 4 dishes: sesame chicken, beef tripe with chili oil, chicken and bamboo shoots, and the peking duck. everything was just okay, the chicken and bamboo shoots was good but felt oily and lacking flavor, the seasame chicken was okay it was very crispy, the beef tripe was good though it was spicy, however the peking duck was not good and tasted like it was sitting around for a while - not fresh, and there was no crispy skin ): overall okay chinese place not bad but not great

Yelp
Neat place. Service is good. Their pan fried dumplings are good but pork potstickers smelled a bit raw. Chengdu chicken is spicy but little dry. The best thing here is Dan Dan noodles and their spicy chili oil.
