I’d never had Bangladeshi food and this was my first time. It was super good!!! The waiter described one of the dishes as a goat biryani but different, and that was not only true, but I would say it’s both different and better than most of the goat biryani I’ve had in Philadelphia. Ditto for the soup. My wife got the Rui fish, which it seems as brought in directly from Bangladesh fresh, and she likes it. (She’s vegetarian). So, I’d give taste of Dacca a strong five stars. In a neighborhood with quite a few south Asian options, this one stands out. Will come again.

Dining at Taste of Dacca with my son was a wonderful experience. The food took me back to the authentic flavors of traditional Bangladeshi cuisine—rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The biriyani was a standout, and the beef curry was incredibly tender. The staff treated us like family, which made the meal even more special. This is a place I’d gladly return to for both the food and the hospitality.

If you’re looking for the most authentic Bangladeshi food in Pennsylvania, look no further—this hidden gem in Philadelphia is the real deal. From the moment you step in, the aroma of perfectly spiced biryani and slow-cooked gosht transports you straight to Dhaka. The Kacchi Biryani and Tehari are simply out of this world—fluffy, fragrant rice layered with tender, fall-off-the-bone meat, cooked to absolute perfection. The dal has that homemade richness, the Khashi Gosht is full of deep, bold flavors, and the variety of bhortas (mashed delicacies) is a nostalgic treat that takes you right back to Bangladesh. The chef came out to greet us. The owners were very friendly and very easy to talk to. This is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience. There is no other place in Pennsylvania that serves Bangladeshi food this authentic, and I guarantee you’ll be coming back—probably with different family members each time, just to share the experience. If you love true Bangla cooking, this place is a must-visit!

Best Bangladeshi food in the Philadelphia area. Everything tastes like the food back at home -- made with love and an eye towards the real Bengali taste. We had the haleem, kacchi biriyani, kala bhuna, daal, begun vorta, sobzi, and teheri, and goru. Loved everything -- I will definitely be coming back with my family. Chef even came out to say thank you for eating at the restaurant. Must visit.

From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special. The warm, genuine smiles from the owner instantly made me feel welcome — a rare touch of hospitality that set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Now, let’s talk about the food — absolutely phenomenal. Every dish that hit the table was a masterpiece. The flavours were bold yet balanced, with thoughtful ingredients and expert execution shining through in every bite. The kitchen clearly takes pride in both creativity and quality. What stood out just as much as the food was the service. The owner as well as the staffs were attentive without being intrusive, always anticipating needs and offering thoughtful recommendations that proved spot on. You can tell there’s a genuine passion for not just good food, but creating a memorable experience. In short, if you’re looking for a place that delivers top-tier cuisine with a side of heartfelt hospitality, this spot is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning to this place again and again.

We recently arrived in Philadelphia from Australia and had the pleasure of dining at Test of Dacca. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, authentic ambiance that immediately reminded us of home. The food was absolutely incredible – rich in flavor, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. Every bite felt like a celebration of Bangladeshi culture. We tried several dishes, and each one exceeded our expectations. It’s clear that the chefs pour their heart into the cooking. The service was equally impressive – friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made great recommendations and ensured we were well taken care of throughout our visit. If you’re looking for genuine Bangladeshi cuisine that feels both comforting and delicious, Test of Dacca is a must-visit. We’re so glad we discovered this gem and can’t wait to come back! — Visitors from Australia 🇦🇺🇺🇸

A great place to taste authentic Bangladeshi food. The restaurant is still finalizing the menu, so not all items are available. We tried the Chicken Curry, Daal, Vorta, White Rice, Beguni, and Tea. It was one of the best food experiences I had in many years. The flavor and taste of the dishes were just like a home cooked meal. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made the effort to make our dinner enjoyable. The price of the food was also very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try Bangladeshi food.
