"An all-day Greek restaurant is slated to open a Midtown location in the former Bareburger space on Peachtree Street just north of the Fox Theatre. Wasn't busy on a rainy Sunday night, many good choices on menu, and appreciated all day breakfast that one of our party enjoyed. Lamb was slightly overcooked in my gyro, lots of sauce and lettuce, tasty.

Google
I found this place by chance, and it was simply amazing. The ambiance, the cleanliness, the staff, and especially the food were fantastic. I received a warm welcome, was assigned a table, and received excellent service. Abigail (I hope that was her name), in particular, was extremely nice and accommodating. I'd like to thank the entire team and will definitely be back. Best wishes from Germany

Google
Yes!! Sooo good. The hummus was even better once it sat for a while. I tasted a little if my daughter's pasta, super creamy. She loved how saucy it was. The falafel wrap was superb. We'll be back!

Visiting from FL and staying at a nearby hotel. My husband and I walked to the Taste of Greece and so glad we did. Amazing food! We had the onion ring, gyro and Greek salad with chicken. 10/10!

Google
First time tasting this type of food and I absolutely fell in love. The flavors are mind blowing. The coffee is unique also. Highly recommend coming here!

Google
Taste of Greek in Midtown is a whole vibe! The atmosphere is clean, modern, and welcoming—perfect for a chill lunch or a date night. The food not only looks amazing but delivers on flavor too. Fresh, well-seasoned, and plated with care. Definitely adding this spot to my go-to list.

We stopped for lunch around 1pm on Saturday the place was packed but we got seated quickly but We waited for quite a long time for our food.We decided to have breakfast which they serve all day.We picked a vegetable skillet with scrambled eggs and Greek gyro skillet with sunny side up eggs.Delicious and worth the wait.

Google
Food was delicious! Great view of the street and not too busy. Got the triple appetizer sampler and “The Best Gyro in Town.” Since it is the only gyro I have had in town, I’ll have to take their word for it. It was very good and paired nicely with savory baba ghanoush and hummus.

Yelp
It was my first visit since they relocated from Duluth. I regularly visited there since the food was great, prices were great and it was nearby. I was sad to see them leave. Last Sunday while visiting the Fox for a show we made it a point to return to A Taste of Greece for dinner. I ordered Pasticho, wife ordered Moussika. Both dishes were as wonderful as we remembered! The bechamel sauce was magnificent! Our meal was the highlight of the evening as the show at the Fox was disappointing. While we can't make it to eat here often, I will looking forward to our visit for some real authentic Greek specialties!

Yelp
We were heading to midtown on a Sunday and wanted to try someplace different for lunch. I had seen this restaurant a couple of times in the last few months when I occasionally had business in this area, and had heard positive feedback about it from a friend, so we checked it out. We parked for free about 3 blocks away across Juniper Street. The garage under the building in which the restaurant is located advertised parking for it also, though I doubt that is free (maybe they validate?). When we got there (around 11:30 a.m.) there was only one other person dining. I expect that weekdays are much busier here with people working in the area, but at least that weekend day was slow for lunch. The lone server got us seated and checked back fairly regularly. The restaurant is one large dining room on the ground floor of a 10-storey building. It has booths along one wall, counter seating, and a variety of tables. We chose one at the front window in order to watch activity on the street outside while we ate. They had a decently broad menu, but we both opted for different styles of gyros. My wife got a standard and I got a Philly Cheesesteak version. We both enjoyed them and finished them. Prices seemed reasonable for the area. I'd consider returning here for a meal.

Yelp
Went at 4:45 on a weekday and the doors were locked. Fortunately they came out before I got too far away, and I asked if they were open. They said yes but no rationale or apology for the locked door that should have been open since 8:00 am. I just needed some food and got the "best" gyro. It was good but by no means the best. And at $14, I expected more.

Yelp
Pros: Good, airy atmosphere, excellent food. I had the lamb skewer which, to my surprise, was 100% meat -- and very tasty, perfectly cooked meat at that. It also was very convenient for lunch before a matinee at the Fox. Cons: Service, although we may have just drawn a lemon. Inattentive, more into chatting it up with other servers than attending to her tables. Ordered hot tea -- was served a cup of hot water with a teabag in it, no spoon, no sweetener, no milk, nor were any forthcoming. But I'd still go back.

Yelp
I walked in for a to-go dinner. It's very close to Fox Theatre; high traffic area, but the restaurant wasn't busy. Casual dining area and friendly server taking orders. I ordered the salmon stuffed with spinach and feta, included asparagus and choice of potatoes or rice--I chose rice. It was made fresh and packaged well; order was complete in 15 minutes. The food was delicious. Satisfying portion for $34. I would get this dish again or try another menu item. The tzatziki sauce was extra, but a good added touch!

Yelp
Prices seemed high considering it was right next to Georgia tech campus! Food was ok- service was not bad! Ambiance and dine-in area good though.

Megha D.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now, either for a quick lunch or a quick meal before a show at the Fox. The service is always quick and breezy and there's plenty of seating, even before a popular show at the Fox! On my most recent visit, I came with my dad for lunch. I decided to get the Greek salad with Gyro meat added on, while my dad got a Philly style Gyro with some substitutions which I appreciated the staff accommodating! Overall the food is solid. The meat is always great here!! My salad was a little chunky and difficult to eat, but still flavorful with great tanginess coming from the olives and pepperoncini. I think it's a little pricy for lunch, but still glad to have this convenient Greek spot in Midtown.

Yelp
Waitress 0/10. Food 11/10. Waitress was NOT on top of drinks. We constantly had to ask. She walked around the restaurant literally talking on her phone. Manager definitely needs to roll cameras and address or fire her. She had customers in the door and she was on her phone not assisting them. Phone rang and rang and she was on her phone and ignored it. She brings us Taziki dip which came with our meal, half way thru the plate being gone. Food...super great. Amazing pita. Delicious gyro and chicken skewers. 11/10 recommend. No complaints there.

Yelp
Great little spot, modern and clean. Food is delicious. I was feeling a bit ill with some GI issues and was in need of some eggs and toast. We dropped in to get it to go and returned later for dinner. They have all day breakfast - I so appreciated that when I was feeling a little sick. Dinner food was great. Hummus was spot on and my son loved the potato wedges that came with the platter. They don't have alcohol but you can byob. Service was good too.

Yelp
For a week day, during lunch time, the restaurant didn't seem too busy. Due to a need to get something quick, we went with the decision to grab something quick and refreshing. Service was slow, and it seemed like only one person running the floor. Again, it wasn't too busy. While we waited patiently, despite our short availability, I ordered the Spanikopota thinking it would be quick. I asked for a small alteration and they denied it. Understandably so, as they pointed to a disclaimer that no alterations will be offered. Had this not been near the hotel, we wouldn't have gone. The actual food was okay. I enjoyed the flakiness.

Yelp
Went to Taste of Greece to grab dinner to go on a week night while looking for a good quick meal and was unfortunately disappointed with the service I received. The cashier did not stop scrolling through social media while taking my order and when I asked for suggestions she gave me a dirty look and told me to look at the menu for choices. It was a weird experience and hopefully this worker does not act like this to everyone. The food was good, I thought the pita bread wasn't fresh as the edges were tough but overall it was a good meal. Id like to give this restaurant another chance next time I'm in town and am hopeful that all experiences aren't like mine.
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my Gyro. The meat was flavorful, tender. The bread seemed to be made there and not in grocery store. Fries were hot and fresh. Great service.

Sky D.

Yelp
I could not finish my food and I have finished meals that ended up giving me food poisoning. Paid $65 for 2 meals and an appetizer, and they decided to pack the salad for the gyro platter ON TOP OF BOILED GREEN BEANS. We ordered takeout and unlike every other Greek restaurant in the world, they decided that separating cold lettuce from boiled vegetables would make too much sense. Salad completely wilted and ruined, spanakopita so oily it drips, pork tastes and smells like fish, tzaziki was thin and oily, fasolika tomatoes were mashed into oblivion. I'm surprised they're still open, college kids with no taste, I guess. I have never left a review but this was such garbage food that either the hiring manager or the chef is a moron by objective necessity. Bottom line: A well below average Greek restaurant that clearly doesn't care at all about their food, but boy do they charge like they do. (It is exceedingly difficult to screw up a gyro platter this bad.) The restaurant promised me a refund, but it turns out that was a lie as the money remains out of my account. If they refund me I will return and remove this part of my review.

Yelp
It was a amazing experience, wonderful food and a fantastic server experience from the server John, he did a wonderful job keeping us refreshed and entertained. 10/10 would recommend for lunch.

Yelp
Had dinner here before Hamilton last night and it was quick, delicious, and reasonably priced. We ordered a veggie gyro which had tons of veggies like zucchini and squash. It did not come with a side. Also ordered a gyro plate - gyro, pita slices, tzatziki, green beans and salad of lettuce and tomatoes. 2 huge Greek potato wedges were also on the plate. Everything was delicious, we were running late due to traffic but food came quickly and it is a stone's throw from Fox theater so very convenient. Gyro

Yelp
Was craving some Greek food in Midtown and stumbled across Taste of Greece and was pleasantly surprised! Very spacious interior with plenty of seating for various group sizes and friendly staff that made our meal alot more enjoyable. Things to note: plenty of fountain drinks and things of the likewise but no alcohol. Doesn't get any points deducted from me though. Just don't expect to come and order a cocktail. Our family of 4 decided to stop in and indulge in their gyro menu. I opted to get the best in the town gyro with a side of onion rings and tzatziki sauce. The gyro was sooooo good, gyro meat was favorable and tender and the pita wasn't soggy like I've experienced at other places. But yall, I HIGHLY suggest getting the onion rings. They were SO good. They're jumbo onion rings so it came with abouttttt 6-8? Just approximating. They're shareable I guess but you're definitely gonna want your own helping hahahaha. My dad got the French fries which were meh in my opinion, and my brother got the Greek potatoes (which are just two 2 about 3 inch sliced seasoned potatoes). The highlight was the onion rings. Overall, definitely see myself coming back here! I was eyeing their lamb burger so that'd be the next thing I try. They also serve breakfast all day so there's a vibe for everyone!
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Ate here for dinner, places is fairly large and clean. Had the "best gyro in town" (although it was just average tasting) and a side of onion rings (these were really good). They do not serve liquor here, as they do not have a liquor license, however, you can BYOB, and there is no service fee.
google avatar

YaNiRa D.

Yelp
Wouldn't come back here even if it was for free. A gyro was $14 and they use frozen grilled "chicken" completely unacceptable and gross. Please save your money and your time. I would not recommend.

Coe L.

Yelp
The best gyro I've ever had. So good that I'm still chasing the feeling of that first bite. The service was great. I loved the ambience. Can't ask for more.

Holly S.

Yelp
Food was ok. The ledges on the wall where the booths were not been dusted at least in several days, and the service was fine but I was underwhelmed given that we were the only part there for 3/4 of our meal.
google avatar

Devika D.

Yelp
A solid 3/5. - Pros: the service is excellent and the location is nice. Potatoes are lemony. Gyro meat is very good. Also their pita comes out hot with oil and seasoning - Cons: the hummus is not smooth, most of the meats don't have much seasoning, the green beans taste canned, the pork was tough I will likely come back to try the gyro. Not the best but a solid option.

Yelp
Food: 3 out of 10 Service: 3 out of 10 Ambience: 6 out of 10 I came here with my family before a show at the Fox theater. We ordered food that did not require much prep, but it took forever. The lentil soup was mostly broth with a few floating lentils, not what I'm used to. My daughter ordered the salmon, she said it was the worst salmon she ever had. My other daughter's food was also terrible, hummus and pita, covered in what seemed like raw garlic and oil. But the take away here was the garlic breath stayed with us for HOURS. We couldn't escape it. Didn't matter what you ordered, all of us had breath so bad we could hardly sit next to another person. Definitely do not go on any sort of date or business lunch here. You will majorly regret it.

Matthew T.

Yelp
I got the gyro supreme for $13. Really good quality chicken for $13. Good atmosphere. Casual dining.

Yelp
I was in Atlanta just for the night for a concert at the Eastern. We were looking for a quick bite that wouldn't weigh us down and the gyro here was just the ticket! The food was made quickly and fresh and the folks at the counter were so nice. The lamb meat was nice and tender and exactly what you are looking for in a gyro!

Yelp
I can't recommend this place enough. I was so glad we tried it a couple weekends ago. We visited on a Sunday night, and it was not crowded at all, so please go support this excellent new restaurant and help them out. This is a second location of the Peachtree Corners restaurant of the same name. While the menu items are a little pricey, the portions are HUGE. So is the menu - the options are overwhelming. We asked our waitress if it would be enough to split a gyro platter and a Taste of Greece (can't remember the exact name, but it included moussaka, pastitsio, and lahanomades) between 3 people. She wasn't sure, so we added on a trio of dips as an appetizer. Let me just tell you, we did not need the appetizer. There was so much food. For our trio, we chose spicy hummus, dolmades, and baba ghanoush, and all were great. It was the best baba ghanoush I've ever had. The gyro platter was good - all the meat was good - I believe ours had gyro, sausage, and pork. The Taste of Greece was excellent. I may go back and just order mussaka in the future if I'm feeling indulgent. It was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the pastitsio was a close second. Both dishes came with sides of green beans, potatoes and rice. Even the sides were well seasoned and tasty. All 3 of us walked out of there joking that we might have be be rolled out. So. Much. Food. Hard to save leftovers because you just want to keep eating it. But we still had leftovers. Anyway, I hope to be back soon!

Yelp
It was ok Food was eatable Service was fine. She made an effort to get the food quickly. Unremarkable ambiance

Yelp
Looking for lunch options after visiting Tea Corner down the street, we decided on this place. Great lunch prices. Love the blue and wood decor. Nice lady waited on us. Gave us time to peruse the menu. Friendly environment. The things we ordered was good. We had the sampler platter, lemon chicken, salmon stuffed with crab. The entrees came with seasoned rice, potato wedges, 1 green veg. I had green beans. Bestie had asparagus. You get a great deal of food for your buck. It can be pricey but the food was pretty good. Uber clean environment, masks are worn. I'll be back.

Yelp
Friend and I dropped by after a show at the Fox Theater just across the street. We got in around 1030pm but they close at 11pm and kindly sat us and took our orders. I got the Yia Yia's Moussaka which is made up of layers of grilled eggplant, potatoes, and ground beef topped with a slice of tomato and cheese. It also comes with potatoes, rice, and green beans. For $20 this is a LOT of food and came out on a large plate. The moussaka was absolutely delicious. It was super flavorful but not too oily -- it made me just want to keep eating more. The potato layer really added that extra flavor. The rice it came with was also delicious - it was nicely seasoned and was nice and buttery. Our server was also SUPER friendly - he was such a highlight. I would go back just for him LOL. Overall, really good food and huge portions to make it your money's worth. The menu may seem thin but there's SO much on it with so much variety ... I can't wait to try them all because I will definitely come back many more times. Super friendly service and a fairly large dining area. Perfect place to go before or after a show at the Fox for sure! Welcome to Midtown!

Clint M.

Yelp
Food, Service, Ambiance..... all were ok, but not great. The gyro was tasty, but average, and I wish the potatoes had been hotter. Service was adequate, but a bit "ho-hum". Overall, it felt like the experience you might have at a mall food court.
google avatar

Ila C.

Yelp
We popped in on a Saturday night as we were in the area. It was quiet, but the service was excellent and the food was top class. We had the lamb and chicken souvlaki dinners and the cold mezze. We wish we had known you can byob, but will do next time!

Serendipity S.

Yelp
Gyro !!! Yummmmmyyy Customer Service: A+++ Lots of seating, chill ambiance as well. Didn't feel rushed and food was so good we ordered dinner to go so we could hold off having to go grocery shopping until tomorrow.
google avatar

Marcia K.

Yelp
Great ambiance, helpful & knowledgeable server and delicious food! We ordered the gyros with a side of onion rings. The onion rings are made from scratch & sooo good. Gyros were a perfect ratio of meat to lettuce/red onion & tzatziki sauce. I'm used to Greek restaurants looking like the one in "my big fat Greek wedding"... Taste of Greece had a comparatively upscale, sophisticated feel. We'll be back!
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
This place is great! There aren't many places to go during the lunch hour, but this place is a hit. Although the service might be a bit slow, everyone is very kind and attentive. The food is so flavorful. The tzatziki sauce IS DELICIOUS!!!! And their chicken pitas are flavorful and filling. I will definitely be visiting again.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
I want to make a "taste of grease" pun, but it would be neither funny nor applicable. I got the skordalia gyro, which was delicious and patently NOT greasy. It was packed with meat and peppers, so much so that I was able to make two meals out of it. The pita was so soft and fluffy that, mid-meal, I climbed inside the gyro and took one of the best naps of my life. I'll take that pillowy bread over a Casper mattress any day. The only area for improvement is possibly having a snappier restaurant name. Something with more pizzaz. I'm in a generous mood, so I won't deduct a star for this, but if the owners are ever thinking about a name change, I brainstormed a few. I have provided them here, free of charge: Greece Lightning - the décor could be themed around Greek mythology, focusing on Zeus and his thunderbolt. Think Zeu(p)s and Zalads. Give Greece A Chance - all the napkins would have John Lennon's face on them. Greece's Pieces - this would actually be a Greek bakery attached to the restaurant, whose signature dessert would be baklava with Reese's Pieces. 10/10 will visit Taste of Greece again, regardless of the name.
google avatar

Master C.

Yelp
As the waitress noted, "Everything here is good. I mean it." We had the Taste of Greece Appetizer platter - could be a meal. The Keftedakia were outstanding! For main course, the Greek Alfredo and Greek Chicken - the potatoes were so tasty.
google avatar

Bob L.

Yelp
We were very sad to see Taste of Greece leave Peachtree Corners, but we are Very happy to eat at the new location every time we go downtown Atlanta. 1 block and across from the Fox Theatre, it's a must for excellent Greek food and service. The owner, Tomaís, is the Best!!! All our friends are so happy we took them there, now they're hooked!!!
google avatar

Antonio R.

Yelp
I came with a friend on a Tuesday for a late lunch. The place was empty but they were ready to serve us. I got the falafel gyro with fries and it was delicious. The food came out quick. I would definitely come back for more. They have a great special for lunch. For a small add on, you get your choice of fries or Greek potatoes and a drink.
google avatar

Chris U.

Yelp
Great, quick takeout meal! Their gyro is called something like "The world's best gyro", which is a bold claim! But it really was very, very good. Their Greek lemon potatoes were excellent, as was their Greek salad. It was a great treat for an Sunday night.

Eris G.

Yelp
From the spanakopita to the galaktoboureko Best gyro Ive had in atlanta by far, compared to other places with their greasy stomach ache causing gyros. Real authentic taste. Ive yet to try something I didn't love.

Yelp
The food is so tasty and the server was great and gave us a show. i love the ambience. It's only a few people on weekdays so I recommend

Yelp
We were looking to grab a quick bite and this place was walking distance from our hotel so we gave it a shot and were not disappointed! Our server was so friendly and helpful with our questions and the food was delicious and had great portion sizes.

Yelp
Located just steps away from the Fox Theater, Taste of Greece is a restaurant offering a huge menu of tasty Greek specialties, making for a nice casual pre- or post- show meal. The Mixed Grill Platter came with gyro slices, pork souvlaki on a metal skewer, and grilled loukaniko (Greek sausage), served alongside a salad of lettuce, tomato, and onions; tzatziki sauce; pita slices; green beans cooked with tomatoes; and soft, caramelized Greek potato wedges. On the side, we also got the Greek salad, a simple mixture of lettuce, bell peppers, tomatoes, olives, pickled peppers, and a triangle of feta cheese topped with oregano. All of the components of the platter were flavorful and nicely seasoned, and there was a nice balance between the hearty meats, the refreshing vegetables, the earthy potatoes, and the creamy tzatziki.

Jan L.

Yelp
Just ordered the worst Greek Salad I have ever eaten. They simply threw in lettuce, sliced tomatoes and sliced onion, red and green sliced bell pepper. It was not tossed. The dressing was not Greek Salad Dressing; it tasted like Thousand Island dressing. Absolutely horrible!!!!
google avatar

Milla M.

Yelp
best greek food in atl ! fast service. super flavorful food. amazing genorous portion sampler platters. a bit pricey , but paying for the location. i'd eat here everyday if i could afford it.
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by Taste of Greece! Ordered it via Ubereats and my first impression was the prices were a bit high. As you can see, they are not chintzy with portions. The Moussaka came with lemon roasted potatoes, rice and stewed green beans. I got three dinners out of that order. Dolmades were good and they gave you lots of bread to dip. I'd order again.
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
Tried some Greek food with friends the other day. The food was very solid. We got the taste of Greece tour that comes with a bunch of different items for about $35. We also tried the Greek lemon soup and some falafel with hummus for an appetizer. The greek fries, a typical favorite for me, were huge but instead of a bunch you get two on the side and they aren't crispy as I like. The meat was all seasoned very well and tender. I liked the yellow rice and all of the other sides that came with this dish. As others have noted here, portions are very generous and help make up for some of the price. Still, it's about what you'd expect given the area price wise but it seems like their challenge is trying to figure out what type of restaurant they are. Parts of it, including the service and the booths, feel more fast food-e and not especially high end. Our waitress could not pronounce many items on the menu and had very little in the way of recommendations. We asked what the Greek sour Cherry drink was and she replied: "it's a sour Cherry drink." Maybe that was a dumb question ?

Mike S.

Yelp
Delicious dinner before a fox theater show. We sat outside on a nice night and everything was terrific, especially the gyro platter. Friendly quick service was also a plus. A nice find.
google avatar

Crystal C.

Yelp
This place is nice. We got the most basic things on the menu: The Lamb Burger, The Gyro, and a dessert with a very long name. Everything was tasty and fresh. They serve breakfast all day which is very interesting. I have to go back and try other things on the menu. Our waiter was super sweet and didn't make me feel silly for not knowing how to pronounce certain words. The restaurant itself is clean, modern and spacious. I'll be back.
google avatar

Corey W.

Yelp
We arrived after a show at the fox theater across the street. They were still open but closing in 30 minutes. The hostess insisted that we don't dine in, and that we get our food to go, which we did. Only to see her welcomingly seat another couple who came in after us. The food was not as impressive as we had hoped. Definitely have had better service and food elsewhere. Unfortunately wasn't a good first impression. I don't think we will go back.
