The 21 Best Restaurants On (& Around) Nolensville Pike

"Sharing the same parking lot as Sichuan Hot Pot, this restaurant is one of the few places in Nashville with a dedicated menu for Persian dishes. They only opened a few years ago, but quickly became a favorite in Nashville’s Iranian community. Their kebabs are delicious, with a perfect char on the koubideh and chicken soltani every time, but if you want something distinctly Persian, go for one of their stews—like the very herby and fragrant ghorme sabzeh. The dining room is full of comfy booths, so we usually end up here on family dinner nights or casual dates." - anas saba

This Iranian restaurant has such a warm and cozy atmosphere, it felt really welcoming! The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. They offer a great variety of kebabs, and I was pleasantly surprised to see some vegetarian options on the menu as well. They also have some Turkish dishes, which is a big plus. The flavours of the kebabs and the salads were amazing and clearly prepared with care. Highly recommended!

I walked in expecting the best food ever. But that’s not what I received…. A lot of people recommended this place to me and told me to try the kabob, I’m always skeptical trying new restaurants with out some type of recommendation, but how could so many people be wrong. I called in and ordered the Kabob for pick up, the gentlemen on the phone was super friendly, he adviced me it’ll be 10 minutes, I showed up, and a lady attended me. They told me my food was ready, and gave me a bag, and told me it would be $20.30, I paid and as I was walking out the lady asked me if I wanted utensils, I said yes! ( but I thought it was already in the bag) so I checked and I didn’t have any utensils or napkins. For a $20.00 meal I would expect all that, I got in my car and continued to drive home, the food smelled amazing, I felt like I was in Persia lol, it smelled so authentic. I was excited and ready to try it!! I get home and the first thing I notice is…. There’s soooo much rice and 2 small pieces of meet, the proportion was very off, but I was hoping the food would be amazing.. it wasn’t! I don’t like to waste food, but this food was so greasy and oily, it had no taste besides the greasy oily taste, the rice was good, but the whole purpose of the meal was the kabob! I had no choice but to throw it away. I will most likely never eat here again, correct me if I’m wrong, but I didn’t like Persian food, or it was a bad experience…. 20.00 it’s a lot of money for a plate of rice and 2 small pieces of flavorless meat. The only thing I really enjoyed was the grilled tomatoe. I’m totally upset, in conclusion I paid $20.00 for a grilled tomato, the rest went to the trash! Atmosphere was amazing, great decorations, but the purpose of a restaurant is the food.

Google
Taste of Persia – Nashville I had a great experience overall. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, and the portion size was decent—satisfying without being too much. I wasn’t really a fan of the salad on the side, but the rest of the plate made up for it. They included some fresh vegetables like cucumber and tomato, a bit of Persian cheese, and traditional bread, which was a nice touch. The pricing is in line with what you’d expect from Persian restaurants across the U.S.—fair value for the quality and presentation.

The lamb chop was absolutely delicious. Perfectly balanced flavors, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. I also tried the chicken and ground beef kabobs on different days, they were absolutely amazing! I found this family owned restaurant very clean with friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Google
Super friendly staff and incredible food! They helped me and answered all of my questions since it was my first time there. The lamb shank was so tender that everything literally just fell off the bones. When they started to get a little busy they were slow to bring me the check when after clearing my table, so just keep that in mind.

I was driving around trying to find some lunch. This place is tucked right of Lowes in the back. Very authentic place and cool seating on the wall. This def is a mom and paps owned. They are known for their bakery goods and also served a small menu of plates and salads. I started with a salad. For main lunch I ordered the wrap that came with fries. It was nicely grilled and had a nice smokey taste. I like these kind of "battered" fries they served. I never had Turkish coffee but thought I'd try it. Now this little shot was $8. It was good but could get a 16oz for same price. The meal you see below going to give you a second to think what price you think I paid for Coffee, wrap with fries and a salad...........? I paid $30.99. I understand inflation is off the roof. But coffee that's $8 and salad for $8. That's already $16 for those two items. That puts the wrap and salad at $14.99 plus tax. I've gotten a full meal for that with a drink for under $16. I believe in supporting local businesses. We're all hurting in this economy. I tipped extra $8 making bill total $38.99 . Over all I still enjoyed the meal but would like a little more for what I pay when it comes to meal. Still come and check it out if you want a quiet environment and try some of their home made desserts.

As a first-timer, I have to say this was an extraordinary experience from start to finish! From the moment I walked in, the aroma, the ambiance, and the kindness of the staff set the tone. Every dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavor—the Baghali Polo with Lamb Shank was absolutely unforgettable. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The rice dishes were fragrant and beautifully presented, and the stews were rich and soulful. You can tell every plate is made with love and pride. I left full, happy, and already planning my next visit. Highly recommend to anyone curious about Persian cuisine—you’ll be hooked!

I was visiting family in Nashville When we came across this amazing little restaurant. My family is originally from this region of the world and let me tell you we know good Persian food when we see it. There were twelve of us in our party and we all selected different entrees and appetizers They were all outstanding from the presentation to the taste of fresh and proper ingredients used in all the dishes This is a hidden gem for anyone who has had or trying to have Persian food for the first time. We got to meet the owner of the restaurant and you can tell she puts her heart and soul in all the dishes Definitely will come back on our next trip back to Nashville.

Yelp
Persian food on point. Family dinner, we warmed up with mast o musir, pita bread, some crunchy veggies and cheese. Classic stuff. The khoreshte gheyme was decent, but the kabab really shone. A 2-person combo platter fed four adults. The platter had koobide, barg, jooje, and lamb shank. All of the kabob were great; juicy, tender, well seasoned all around. Dessert was linger. This is a Turkish dessert that I'd never had before but basically it was a thin ,woven, oily and syrupy pastry filled with cheese. It sounds weird when I describe it but boy was it tasty. We all left full and happy.

Yelp
My favorite Persian restaurant in Nashville! If you've ever lived in Atlanta - the main entrees are much similar to Rumis/Sufis. The meat is fresh and tasty. Everything on this menu is just delicious.

Yelp
Overall, the food and service were great. This was an adorable restaurant! I am sure I will be back.

Yelp
Truly one of the most underrated restaurants in Nashville right now. Came here on a whim on a Friday night with my parents. My mom is one of the pickiest eaters I have ever met and this was an easy 5 star meal, even for her. Dreamy, floral interior, calm music, and great ambience for spring/summer. We started with the sampler platter which comes with pita, veg, hummus, salad, and an eggplant dip. All very tasty but the hummus and fresh veggies on the side were the star of this portion of the meal to us. We ordered the chicken kebab and the fesenjan stew to share as entrees. They both came with rice so I didn't order any polo or tahdig, but would love to come back and try those. Truly one of the most perfect fesenjans I have ever had: bone-in chicken, cooked to the point of the meat slowly falling off the bone in a pomegranate/walnut stew. Massively flavorful and my dad in particular was so impressed by this dish. My mom's favorite was the chicken kebab, which was just perfectly cooked and flavored chicken & really awesome rice. We were pretty full, but I can never say no to dessert, so after chatting with the waitress chose to get the Napoleon to share and to our delight and surprise, our waitress brought us a bit of the special Persian tea to have with it. Holy crap, that was one of the best teas my family has ever had and we are HUGE tea snobs. The Napoleon was light and paired well with the tea, felt like a perfect end to our meal. No beer/wine on the menu and not a ton of options for vegans/vegetarians unless you stuck to appetizers, but an incredible meal and could be a fun option for a date night. My parents (again, truly the pickiest restaurant-goers in Nashville) really raved about how clean and beautiful the restaurant was, how amazing the food was (and reminded us of an old Nashville restaurant long gone, rip Hot Kabob off of White Bridge). Easy parking and we will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Excellent food. Fresh, soft and tasty meat. Nice music and decorations. I would add mirsaghasemi, chicken with bone and some other to the menu just for the sake of perfection. Great service.

Yelp
I was craving Persian food and we trekked north towards Nashville to Taste of Persia. The ride wasn't too bad considering I-65 needs to be widened to handle traffic during rush hours. We arrived after the lunch crowd departed and had the restaurant to ourselves. Our waiter happily greeted us and seated us immediately. The restaurant is in a strip mall and decorated such that I remembered the chairs at the tables from the 70's at restaurants all over Iran. The Persian tea sets brought back old memories. I ordered hummus and Shirazi salad. Our waiter brought out what we called Sabzi Khordan in Tehran. The hummus was delicious and served with fresh pita bread. The Shirazi salad was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The Sabzi Khordan consisted of green olives, Persian cucumber slices, radish slices, two cubes of cheese and two half slices of fresh tomatoes. Everything was delicious. We had the chelo kebab (mixed grill). A platter arrived with lamb shank, two lamb chops, chicken kebabs, filet mignon kebabs, grilled tomatoes, grilled peppers, and kebab koubideh (ground meat) all placed over polo (rice). I felt like I had gone back in time to Sultanabod and the only items missing were the egg yolk and torshi that was served with chelo kebab. Fresh slices of white onions and shredded pickled red cabbage completed our meal. Everything we ate was delicious and prepared well. None of the meats were dry. Chelo kebab at its best!!! If you are into adventure eating and like trying new flavors, please go to Taste of Persia. They serve authentic Persian foods. Its delicious!!!!

Yelp
Most food is very good but the gourmet sabzi is WAY overpriced at $30. I've never seen it cost more than $20.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Persian food I have had in the greater Nashville area! Highly recommend the Ghromeh Sabzi and the Joojeh Kebob.

Yelp
This is too tucked away, it needs more love! Wish I would have found it earlier. Probably the best hummus I have ever had. As well, the Sac Tava was extremely mouth-watering and had an awesome grilled taste with just the right tang of flavors. Cannot wait to try other items.

Joseph P.

Yelp
Go there for the food! Had the mixed feast, and it was spectacular- every bite I let sit in mouth, letting the flavors rise up through my palate.

Yelp
The food at this restaurant was wonderful. We had a big group and the servers did a great job at making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was overall very clean. Parking is very easy in a large lot in front of the restaurant

Yelp
We came here one evening with our family of four to try something new. The service was top-notch! I'm assuming they are a family that owns it, because you could feel the love that was poured into everything. To be in a strip mall, the ambiance was so sweet. Grape vines and flower vines strung from the ceiling made it feel like we were transported across the ocean to another place and time. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. We started with a ceremonial tea, served in a beautiful traditional porcelain tea pot and tea cups. We tried an appetizer and shared a few traditional main dishes. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We were so pleasantly surprised by this place. We feel like we discovered a best kept secret and will definitely be back in the future!

Yelp
The perfect spot to celebrate my birthday! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food 10X better! Delicious, generous portions and a wide variety on the menu. Definitely check this establishment out. You won't be disappointed! The best Persian food I've had in the Nashville area!

Yelp
Delicious authentic Persian cuisine! Very beautifully decorated restaurant with incredible food. The service was great too. We love that this is just right down the street from us and will definitely be back again.

Yelp
This place felt authentic and mesmerizing, the food itself was delicious. The tea set was beautifully placed and the tea was perfectly made. The staff were kind enough to set the whole place. My first time being In Tennessee and trying Persian food here, would definitely come again with family & friends. This place and the ones that owns it needs the recognition it deserves.

Yelp
This is the best Lamb shank I have had in Nashville. You can tell it's made with a lot of love. This is a women owned business and the owner was serving directly. Lots of space to dine in. Also try out the sweets that are made in house.

Yelp
Had such an amazing time and meal here. This place opened my eyes to the wonders of Persian/Iranian food. The staff are very friendly and the place is quite charming. The food was excellent and came out promptly. Every appetizer was delicious, and the kebab was juicy and flavorful. The hummus was my favorite, it literally made me smile. The tea was tasty and soothing, and the tea set in came in was gorgeous. Overall my experience here was amazing, cozy, and a real treat. Even though it's a new establishment, all my boxes were ticked. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Such good food and service ! I am Iranian and i just moved here from California. I was craving persian food so i was so excited to try this. They have it decorated so cute in there, love the ambiance. I felt like i was drinking chai at my grandmas with their traditional and beautiful tea set. If you haven't tried persian food, please head over to taste of Persia for the Persian experience !
google avatar

Yelp
Really liked it. The rice dish with green beans (whatever it's called) was amazing. Persian stew with chick peas was really good but smaller than I expected. My only "complaint" is that I wish I could read descriptions of the dishes under their pictures. It would have made narrowing down our choices easier.

Yelp
Googled this place and decided to give it a try! Very tasteful Persian food. My boyfriend, who is Persian, said it was authentic tasting. Friendly service and peaceful ambiance made everything worth while. Will come again!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful restaurant with delicious food. A bunch of subtle flavors that mix and burst with every bite. The owner is very sweet and accommodating. The restaurant is very clean, well lit, and has a cozy cafe feel. They also have a bakery that I will have try next time. I will be back to try other things in the menu but you cannot go wrong with the kebabs or the barberry chicken. As a matter of fact, the barberry chicken is the best I've had and I highly recommend it. My picky children loved the kubideh. It is perfectly seasoned and is a generous portion.

Billy C.

Yelp
I had previously searched for a Persian/Iranian restaurant in the area with no luck, but today I found Taste of Persia and decided to give them a try. I opted for the Koubideh Kebab plate, a mixture of grilled beef and lamb kebab. The meat was very tender and well seasoned. The pickled cabbage was slightly sour to bring out the flavor without being overpowering. The cucumber yogurt paired well with the flavor of the meat, and the basmati rice was cooked perfectly. I was happily satisfied with my choice of today. They are newly opened, and are still working on some finishing touches, but it did not distract from the meal, and the staff are very friendly. In the future they may expand their selection, but until then I will be sure to try the other current menu selections.

Yelp
I live in California and was visiting Nashville when I tried this place. The food was decent, but the portion was smaller compared to what we get in California for the price we paid. The server was amazing, friendly, and professional. The only thing I didn't like was the owner killing flies with an electrical tennis racket while we were eating there; I don't think that's professional. I would give them three stars. One star is deducted because of the owner's actions, and the other star is deducted due to the portion size.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Persian restaurant in town. The lamb chops are my favorite on the menu. The rice is delicious and authentic . Highly recommend this place !

Herr M.

Yelp
The only worthwhile Persian restaurant in Nashville (I'm only comparing to the competition up the street) The owner does a great job The chicken was moist. The meat was tender and the rice was properly cooked. I only ordered the Persian dishes and they were authentic. Ambiance is nice. She took care in decorating. I heard her custom made cakes are amazing but I have not tried it.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
The food was delicious!! The tea was great too. The small pot was only $8 and perfect to split for two.
google avatar

Susan H.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious. I'm a Persian/American girl from LA and I have been waiting for 8 years for food like this. This is the best authentic Persian food in Nashville. Run don't walk.
google avatar

Yelp
Do not miss out on this charming restaurant! Very comfortable chairs and tidy atmosphere.Every dish was superb. The tea set made me feel like I was in a palace. Authentic flavors and unique menu items. The service was fantastic. The owner made great recommendations, as we had no idea what to get. She even gave us some fabulous lentil soup she's thinking of putting on the menu. I tried it all and it did not disappoint! Some of the best hummus and eggplant dip I've had. The kabob was so flavorful. The dessert was very different and hit the spot. I'm so glad we stumbled into this place!!
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
We had lunch at Taste Of Persia and can't wait to go back. It's got a very nice atmosphere, fantastic friendly staff and the food is absolutely incredible. The four of us all got different entrees- all of them looked beautiful on the plate and were full of tastes that were unique for us in a very good way. Taste Of Persia is a welcome addition to Nashville's restaurant scene.

Kimiya S.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant. I have ordered a variety of items including their chicken kabob, chenjeh, bagheli polo, koobideh, and Swiss roll. The quality of the food is excellent, and the owner, Nafiseh is very friendly and accommodating. If you are catering for a party, she will even package the food separately so that you can servee I it in your own dishes for a nice presentation. I hope they continue to expand their menu to offer more items.

Firat C.

Yelp
Delicious food and cozy ambiance. Service is also good. I will definitely stop by again
google avatar

Yelp
for the people who seek real Persian food, this is not the place. I am Persian myself and know how persian food supposed to like. Their kabob is not any good, as it is dry, and not flavorful like it is supposed to be. the koobideh seem to have had so much fillers that was dry and hard to cut. all portions are small and way overpriced. I was disappointed.

arash d.

Yelp
i have been waiting for this place to open for months since i saw the sign being put up. there is only one other persian restaurant in town so it is nice to see the competition. they have only been open for 2 weeks at this point so they are still getting themselves together(empty walls and cushions for the bench seats) but i was impressed with their customer service. the chef came out to ask if i'd like my kabob juicy or well done. i chose juicy. i appreciated them asking, but the meat was cooked all the way through and was still very juicy the way a koobideh should be. so i would recommend that they just always cook it "juicy" instead of asking people, so nobody accidentally orders dry kabob. the quality of the kabob was great. it was juicy, fatty meat with a little char at each end. cooked perfect. it is a little bit more expensive than the other iranian resturaunt in town. it would be nice if they had special lunch prices. $18 for koobideh seems high for lunch. the hostess was nice enough to let me try to mast o khiar so extra points for the kind hospitality. a couple additional friendly notes: these are the small things people don't always think about when opening a restaurant-1) order smaller straws to fit the size of the glasses better. my straw fell out a couple times since they seem to float. 2) order higher quality napkins. Napkins are an indicator of the dining level you're about to experience. small detail but important! i'll be back!

Ian M.

Yelp
Amazing! Saw the restaurant at I.G. a night before and we decided to go for dinner the following night. Please expect this is an authentic experience and the service is not similar to typical Americanize places. Food is so great and one of best cuisine you could go for in Nashville area. The lady who waited us is so sweet and I believe the owner, She came to check on us while we're having dinner. Definitely would go back again with my friends. Ambience is relaxing and beautiful like you're at their home.

Yelp
All the stars for this little treasure. The food and the service were excellent, and the space was immaculately clean and minimalistically attractive. Try the desserts!!

Yelp
Great Persian food. Friendly staff and great service. Totally recommend it. Good option for kabob in Nashville area.

Yelp
Delicious and great service! Try the Persian tea -- a delightful experience served in a gorgeous teapot! I wish I had taken a picture!

Tim M.

Yelp
Stopped by on Tuesday.. was greeted warmly and shown a table (turns out by the owner) There were three of us and it was our first time so we split the appetizer sampler that had hummus, a yogurt, cucumber and mint dish that were both delicious, but the stunner was the third called Kashk Badenjan: eggplant, cream of whey, garlic and dry mint. we could have made a meal of it. Just incredible. My wife and her sister split the Koubideh Kebab (beautifully cooked) and I had the Chicken Soldani, also perfectly cooked and tasty. I have to mention the rice which may have been the most surprising to be because it was so good. I don't often rave about rice, but I will this time. Incredibly light and delicious. It is a very simple place with delicious simple and tasty food, perfectly prepared. What a great surprise to find on a cold night. We will be back.

Monnie B.

Yelp
I'm glad to have this option so close by. The service was friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent! I cleaned my plate. I will definitely be back and want to try the lamb shank next.

A R.

Yelp
We are Persian from Southern California. We went for dessert, ordered kunefe, cake rolls, napoleons, baklava and tea while traveling through Nashville. Very authentic and delicious! Felt like we were in a real Persian bakery!

Jake D.

Yelp
The absolute best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Kabobs we're cooked to perfection, sauces and seasonings were amazing, pita is fabulous. This place was empty when we were in here but deserves a line out the door. Definitely coming back very often

Lisa L.

Yelp
Delicious food and excellent service. We had a wonderful time with our group. I will definitely be back.

Wes W.

Yelp
The food was delicious and filling, but the service was very slow, they have served other parties but forgot about us since we were only 2 sitting on the side, price was a bit on their side.

Bayan F.

Yelp
Best Persian restaurant in TN. Food is fantastic. I highly recommend it. Great staff as well. Real friendly environment. Chengeh soltani all the way

Peyton H.

Yelp
Gave them a shot and it was terrible. Ordered a chicken and a kabab I took a bite of the chicken instantly spat it out and almost threw up kabab was very bland.Clean place and alright service although.

Laura D.

Yelp
This place took me back to my childhood! I just moved to TN from the Houston area and have been searching for a Persian restaurant. I was over the moon to find this place!! I've been twice already and am going back for a 3rd time this weekend. It's over an hour for us to get there and well worth the drive. The food is exceptional and authentic!! I cannot recommend it highly enough! PLEASE take the time to check them out, you will not be disappointed....I promise you!
