The Best Biryanis in London | Eater London

"A Bhatti family has been serving the traditional taste of Punjab in North Kensington since 1991. This well-kept local secret is mostly for takeaways and a few seats remain for those who wish to eat in. The family chefs have their own style of making Punjabi biryani with chicken, lamb, vegetables, prawn, or paneer and is one of the few places that does not use the dum cooking and layering method. Instead, a regular pan, mixing the masalas with the meat and rice in a handi. The biryani is garnished with fried onions, coriander, tomato, and green peppers to add a pop of colour to the otherwise basic brown. Taste of Punjab also does a special Sindhi-style biryani for those who want a blend of hot, sour, and sweet flavours." - Advika Reddy

Went by recommendation. Can tell you was not disappointed. I had tandoori chiken wings pulie rice and salad. And there delicious chiken and lamb samosas really enjoyed the fresh tasty food. Was welcomed and served with a smile. Food was surprisingly affordable for the amount of food I ordered. Would definitely recommend 👌

Ordered king prawn KORMA and received king prawn bhuna and went back to the shop to get accused that we have eaten half of it when we did not as we realised it looked differently. They said we have confirmed with them and we did because the accent is strong so when they said korma and bhuna, it sounds the same. Hire someone that can speak the queen’s good and understandable english so customers can actually get what they have ordered. Disgusting attitude from all the workers, talking bad about us in the kitchen in their language and little do they know we understand the language

Easily the worst Indian food I’ve ever seen or eaten. It was a can of tomatoes & some blobs of chicken. Shocking. Can’t believe they sent this

I ordered a couple of times from Taste of Punjab when I was staying in London and they never let me down. The food is delicious! Very tasty, very spicy. Garlic hari mirch chicken is sensational. Tarka Dal with an intriguing blend of spices. Keema (aloo) really good. Naan excellent, in many variants. Thank you, Taste of Punjab, you made me happy!

Wonderful spot for Punjabi cuisine; very good ingredients, and freshly made naan! Tastes far better than most small restaurants. Highly recommend!

Delicious food and amazing price! The uncle who owns the shop is very nice also. Ordered takeaway twice and all dishes were yummy (dal tadka, saag aloo, saag paneer, chicken bhuna). Food tasted like home cooking and chicken was tender and soft.
