"A small restaurant hidden away from the buzz of Sonoma Plaza, Taste of the Himalayas serves Tibetan, Nepali, and Indian dishes. You’ll find Indian standards like samosas, tikka masala, and saag paneer, as well as Nepali classics like the lamb momo with tomato chutney or the mismas tarkari (mixed vegetable curry). For dessert, don’t miss the gulab jamun, delicately fried dumplings made from milk solids and served with cardamom honey." - allison green

Great food, very comfy, I got the lunch (lamb coconut curry) and it was delusions meal and they made it not spicy as I requested. Very happy with the experience, friendly staff and be back!

The staff are very friendly people and all the food came out quickly. But I think the portions are really small compared to the price. The quality of the food was also similar to other places I’ve been to that had larger servings. Overall it was a great dining experience but I don’t think I will come back because of portion size.

Daughter hates/gets sick from onions and stressed not wanting onions. Her Mixed Tandori came on a bed of onions and was dry. We asked for medium heat on our dishes and there was no spice. They charge 3% for credit card which should be disclosed. Lemonade and garlic Nan was good

So so good, lovely hosts and chefs who clearly work very hard and also served us. Missing the taste of my mums cooking and this hit the spot. It was good clearly made with love and care. One of the best naans I’ve had in ages. Try the momo’s, mango lassi and the lamb. The best food for an excellent price compared to other local places. It’s opposite the Irish pub down a little courtyard. I felt sorry for those eating there as our food was brilliant.

Tastes ok, but nothing to write home about. The portions are very small and a bit pricey. I expected more for the amount they are charging. Friendly staff, but we waited about 45min for our food and it was just us and another customer there. It wasnt that busy!

I’ve only been to Sonoma twice and have visited here both times. Totally worth the trip every time! I highly recommend if you’re looking for a fast, quiet sit down with some comfort food. Friendly staff and warm, flavorful dishes. Perfect for a rainy day! I highly recommend the garlic naan, chicken chana masala and the Mismas chicken.
