Beautiful, cool and charming store. Was surprised at the selection of high end alcohols. The Sommelier was knowledgeable, helpful and great to talk to. I wasn't planning on buying anything but impulsed purchased two bottles of wine from Africa and Lebanon - indbada & Chateau Kefraya. Starting there, and going round the world. Glad you're in the hood Joe's Wines! (no relation to Trader)

I had a disappointing experience with a male employee at this business yesterday evening. I will describe him as a tall, slender male of African American descent with tight fitting clothing. I asked him if they carried wines made or owned by people of color, and he simply said, "We don't have those yet, but we will down the line," before walking away without offering to help or provide further information. Later, I asked about women-owned brands and received a similarly dismissive response. When I asked if he could compile a list of such products by the next day, he seemed confused and unwilling to assist, even implying that I should create the list myself. This lack of engagement and effort to address my questions felt dismissive and insensitive. In contrast, another staff member was much more attentive and kind, offering samples and trying to help. However, the behavior of the first associate left a negative taste in my mouth — pun intended.

Beautiful new store in the Gramercy / East Village area! Everything was super clean. Really cool ambiance with the wine tastings and pianist set up. Wide selection of wines and spirits, and most seem fairly priced, especially for New York. Sommelier Dan was super nice and helpful.

Visited last night and got accused of stealing. Reached into my bag without permission. I understand it was a mistake and theft is high in NYC but the interaction was unprofessional
