I had a disappointing experience with a male employee at this business yesterday evening. I will describe him as a tall, slender male of African American descent with tight fitting clothing. I asked him if they carried wines made or owned by people of color, and he simply said, "We don't have those yet, but we will down the line," before walking away without offering to help or provide further information. Later, I asked about women-owned brands and received a similarly dismissive response. When I asked if he could compile a list of such products by the next day, he seemed confused and unwilling to assist, even implying that I should create the list myself.
This lack of engagement and effort to address my questions felt dismissive and insensitive. In contrast, another staff member was much more attentive and kind, offering samples and trying to help. However, the behavior of the first associate left a negative taste in my mouth — pun intended.
