Tasti Tacos #2

Y’all. Best tacos I’ve found. And best food truck operator by far - he will make you feel like you’ve been best friends forever! These birria tacos are delicious, cheesy, and crispy, and I literally drink the consume when I’m done. Be prepared to wait a little while for this perfection but it’s worth it. Suggest ordering ahead. I’m going to need an excuse to drive by again soon…

Twice I have visited the Tasti Tacos food truck (located as of this post at the roundabout of Chatham and Durham, in the Park N Shop gas station parking lot). Twice, nobody has been available to take my order. The first time, the attendant was in the gas station getting a snack; no harm there. I was able to order (after the 5-10 minutes of looking around for the attendant). The food was good, and as this location was on my way home from work, I’d anticipated making it an occasional food stop. However, the second visit, the Food Truck was closed off with banners. I’ve worked years and restaurants and understand how hectic it can be. I’d imagine they might’ve had a big order in the works. However, if that is the case, they should’ve hired extra help or, at the very least, put up a sign. Business hours were stated: 7 days 11am-9pm. My visit was at 4:39pm aka Peak Hours. Although their food is fantastic, I’m forced to rate a 1 out of 5. What good is excellent food if you can’t even purchase it during dinner time?

Absolutely delicious! Worth the price, worth going out of the way for it, worth the genuine smiles and welcoming attitude. We got the 3 birria brisket tacos with consommé and the birria brisket ramen noodles; both were fantastic!

Snagged some of the tacos from this food truck after the guy described them to me. I had 2 brisket and 1 chicken all of them were excellent and the food was done in less than 5 minutes for me. 5 stars will go again.

Keep your eyes peeled if you're coming around the Chatham roundabout, cause if this place is open you need to stop here. Head and shoulders better than any brick and mortar place down the square. I had the 2 chicken and 2 brisket birria tacos and wow, just wow. Looks like they have ramen and grilled cheese birria too. Absolutely will be back, this place deserves to sell out of birria anytime they're open.
