"T’astous presents as a ‘neo-bistro’, the sort of chic bistro you might find in Paris. Regional cooking arranged for a modern sensibility. The chef trained in the south of France, so he excels with foie gras and truffles that are this region’s gift to the world. The restaurant name is the word for a black-truffle canapé in the Cahors dialect. He expresses through his cuisine the wonder he felt upon tasting this delicacy in southwestern France." - Michelin Inspector

Loved the subdued atmosphere and minimalist decor. The food was good, tasty and well presented but the portions were extremely small, the sauces virtually inexistent. I didn’t ask where the truffles came from but I found them lacking in flavor compared to the ones I have had in France. We were still a bit hungry at the end of the meal.

A small, French-style bistro with around 20 seats. It offers both a tasting menu and, surprisingly, a casual à la carte option. Despite our late arrival due to the rain, the staff welcomed our party warmly and without complaint. The service is simply top-notch. The atmosphere is clean, cozy, and unpretentious. We chose the à la carte menu, which began with a three-piece amuse-bouche plate. We ordered the following: 1. Smoked salmon with vegetables, accompanied by two sauces for flavor variation—simple, clean flavors. 2. Pork terrine with cornichons and vegetables, served with Dijon mustard, kosher salt, and pepper. We also ordered the house-made bread, which arrived warm and soft, with a slight umami note. 3. Sautéed Three-line Grunt, served with tomato and eggplant sauces for variation, alongside vegetables. 4. Braised pork with mushroom sauce and sautéed vegetables. The pork was wonderfully tender—the flavors were distinct but never overpowering. The total bill came to just under JPY 10,000. A great spot for dates or even family meals. Just be sure to reserve in advance.

Michelin guide listed restaurant. We got a course reservation to celebrate a special day. The service was fantastic; the food was good, but not mind blowing. The most memorable food items were the appetizers. We had a few glasses of wine which were also fine, but nothing crazy. The white wines are better than their reds. Aside from that, the main dishes were not particularly impressionable but they were creative to a point that deserves praise. Cannot stress enough that the service was excellent — but the atmosphere was a bit off. The sounds felt a bit echoey, and the way the room was organized felt a little… off? There’s no sense of privacy, and it’s not that you go to a restaurant expecting privacy, it’s just that it felt like there’s was absolutely none whatsoever.

This is the best restaurant for those who want elegance and taste at the same time quiet place on the corner with amazing chef. I am so sad that due to my flight I couldn’t visit him yesterday, but I’m definitely coming back. It is worth a 12 hour flight.

Tastou's is one of our regular restaurants in Azabu area. The food is delicious, French with a taste of Japan. The vegetables are always super tasty, the menu is short enough but everything tastes fantastic. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients. The Chef speaks French, the sommelier does not

Took the “Menu Découverte”. 4,400 yen (tax/service/coffee included) It was excellent and had a good time. Chef speaks French 😁

It’s a bit far from the station, but the food and the atmosphere are superb.

Yelp
Still one my favorite restaurants in all of Tokyo. I even chose my apartment so I could be within walking distance. After coming here 20+ times in the last three years, I've gotten to know Horie-san's playbook of ingredients well, but he continues to surprise me every time I stop by. Miyazaki-san pairs each dish with affordable and accessible under-the-radar wines that wow me every time. It's tough to hold back when he keeps bringing out multiple wines to test with each dish! We enjoy celebrating special occasions here rather than at some highly rated Michelin or Tabelog restaurant where you're another face in the crowd. We walk in, take our usual table, and without ordering, settle in for an amazing experience with great company.
