I've been coming to Tastries Bakery for years now for all my special occasions. I LOVE their cookies! The store is adorable, it is so neat and organized. The staff is so welcoming and helpful. I appreciate they accept phone orders. You can email them photos of what you want and speak to someone and be confident you will get what you want.

Love this place. I've been several times now and they've been nothing but kind and welcoming. The pastries are so tasty and amazing. I especially love their biblical signs. A certain couple left me in tears cause they hit home. Love this place. It's so peaceful and welcoming. Keep up the good work.

Very nice Bakery. They make beautiful cake . Its pricey but worth it. Also love their macaroons and cup cakes . Also love the pretzel coated chocolate , decorated cookies. Staff are nice and place is clean and colorful. Totally recommend it.

We hired Tastries Bakery for our wedding in October 2023. Kathy and her team were simply amazing and great to work with. I loved how she was open to my idea of a small cake with cupcakes versus a traditional wedding cake. Thank you for the beautiful tasty cake and cupcakes!

The staff is pleasant and helpful. They have an amazing variety of delicious bakery products but the one I really love is the chocolate cupcake with no-sugar! Since I am nearly diabetic I thought the delightful days of sweet treats were over for me but their chocolate cupcakes are game changers

The best bakery in town. Everything is amazing! They have a huge selection. They can make you any theme cake. Wonderful cookies, cupcakes, custom cakes. We've been coming here for years and they never disappoint.

I’ve never been dissatisfied with anything I’ve ordered whether it was stopping in on the fly or custom ordering a cake or cookies. The people working here are kind, caring and skilled at what they do! It’s too bad (and unfair really) that politics have left them a black eye. I applaud them for standing on their faith. My family and I have been coming here since first discovering them 5 years ago and we will continue to do so for our future orders. 10/10 recommend! I’ve added pictures of a few of the custom jobs we’ve had done.

I recently placed an order for a sheet cake for my wife's 60th birthday. I was fairly explicit with the flavors and decorations I wanted but apparently not explicit enough (Decoration Image was included in an email). The decoration I requested was not correct although I was more disappointed because the part of writing on the cake was wrong. These cakes aren't cheap and the price you pay for something, you expect to get what you order. I was wanting a chocolate/fudge cake w/buttercream frosting which I stated several times but felt I was being pushed into just a plain chocolate cake which is what I ended up with. Overall the cake was good, moist but the frosting seemed somewhat stiff, I'm assuming from being refrigerated or the cake being premade ahead of time before decorating. I only gave 4 stars although I was really hoping to give 5, maybe in the future if there is one i can!

Honestly not sure what all the hype is about with this place? This town doesn't have many good bakeries that are well rounded as far as: variety, flavor, service, ambiance....etc. and this place is no different than the other basic bakeries I've tried. The flavors were good but nothing to rave about, the ambiance is nothing special. The service was subpar, not one smile, the person working there seemed like they didn't even want to be there....so why would I want to be there?! I left there feeling guilty that I gave these people my money. As someone who runs a full team and a business, I know you all can do better. If you're not passionate about your business anymore, sell it, get rid of it...don't just stay open and provide a horrible experience to people who walk in. My husband and I came here once and refuse to go back- we found other bakeries in town that love what they do and care about the people who keep their doors open.

I love their cookies! They are the best! The staff is welcoming and so helpful! I love that you can email them and give your order over the phone. I love how the bakery is decorated, it is beautiful! For your special occasions please come here, you will not be disappointed!

Cute place. I only tried the maccarons as they didn't have much that was gluten-free. Some were really sweet. The fruit ones were better.

I would like to say I have been coming here for years. I have ordered multiple cakes from them before and they never disappoint. A couple months ago I started planning my daughter's baby shower. I first went to a couple of the other bakeries, only to see what they could do and what they taste like. I found out that unless you know someone or follow bakers on Instagram Tastries is the only bakery in Bakersfield that specializes in cookies. So I drive over and placed my order. I ordered cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, macaroons shooters, marshmallows, and pretzels. Everything tasted great! My favorite was the lemon cake with blueberry on top shooters and chocolate fudge cake pops. The service has always been great. And if you haven't visited this place you need to. It's so cute. You can shop and eat. Oh! In case you didn't know they have ice cream and coffee. I will continue to support them and not go anywhere else.

They made the cake for my nieces baby shower. The cake was extremely moist and delicious! Recommend this bakery to everyone.

It was really good! I got a German chocolate cheesecake slice, a sugar cookie and PB cupcake which had very decadent frosting. Their coffees were made with Torani, so if that's not your vibe I'd go elsewhere for coffee. Overall, I had a good experience as the cashier was very kind and helpful even over the phone!

This is the most amazing place ever!! I drove 2 hours to come get some amazing treats! The service is fantastic! Everything inside is so warm and happy!! Love love love this place!

I have always been treated kind accommodations at Tastries. The items I have tried have always been superb!

A lovely establishment with very kindhearted individuals working. I was able to have my questions answered and my needs met - lactose intolerant and very particular with the food I consume. I didn't get a chance to recieve their names but appreciate the help that they provided - information about the teas and the sweets available. Their deli was closed when I went, but I got a Pistachio Macaron - the inside sugar filling taste like a glazed donut w a hint of pistachio flavoring + a lovely crumble and squish of the top and bottom macaron cookiebitz! I also got an Energy Ball - which actually had chocochips! but I took my lactose pill lol either way. Thoroughly enjoyed ~ ~though with my own preference speaking - I wish the Macaron had more pistachio flavoring!! bcus it was light but I definitely feel like it enhanced the experience. The English Breakfast tea they served was fragrant and really just fueled me for the rest of my roadtrip, so I'm very grateful ‍ Thank you Tastries!!!

This place is adorable! They sale cakes for big events but they also have a bakery full of unique and tasty treats! It's a must try !

My sister threw her daughter a baby-shower. She bought a cute cake from this bakery. Wow!! The cake was adorable and not to mention delicious. Cakes are usually hit or miss. This cake was a hit!!! I have ordered a few cakes from here over the years and they never disappoint. I just recently bought a cake for my son's 12th birthday and everybody loved it. They were very accommodating because we ordered a bit of last minute. Pick up is very smooth and easy. I will definitely order more cakes from here in the future.

Since I am nearly diabetic, I thought my sweet treats days were over but then I found Tastries no-sugar chocolate cupcakes. Glory! They are delicious! And the bakery has much more than sweet products. Their boutique is amazing!

Service was incredible, super friendly and helpful! The ambience is very sweet, quaint. The display's of creations of cakes is spectacular and am definitely planning to get the next celebratory cake here!!!! Chocolate & Double chocolate chip cookies are gourmet!! Not crunchy or crumbly, but have a slight crunch on the outside and chewy inside!!!!! WOW, I could honestly resell them, sooooooo good!!! Mini Churros in a bag fresh baked from the morning are worth ALL the calories!!!!!! Clerk said best she's ever had and I do not disagree, they are amazing!! 100% have to for the next party!!!! If you miss a good ol hostess apple or cherry pie, you found them here!! Pies taste exactly like those single hostess from the 1980's down to the perfectly thin flaky baked crust with a slight layer of sugar coat, and the cherry glaze but with a healthy serving of cherries!! Really seemed like she stole them off the shelf and reshaped them into fully baked pies, was a complete throw back! I'm kicking myself for not getting a slice of cake or cupcake since that's the real tell of a good bakery. Guess I'll just have to be back!! Being a bit new to Bakersfield all I know are the couple of donut shops and Villarta. I don't like overly sweet, and sugar is in the name sugar twist, so not great for me. Always looking for a balance of flavor and sweetness, so far this is the place for me. For instance, Crumbl is way too sweet for me!!!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a cake for my niece's quinceañera and the entire experience was a nightmare. First of all, the theme color was burgundy, and I literally spent 20 minutes going over their palette of colors with them to make sure they got it right. And what did they give me? A cake decorated with PURPLE flowers. How do you mess up something so important? It looked completely out of place at the event and ruined the whole presentation. On top of that, the cake itself was a disaster. The frosting was so thick it was practically inedible, and the cake crumbled to pieces as soon as we tried to slice it. We were left with a pile of cake rubble, not slices, which was embarrassing in front of our guests. I spent a lot of money and time on what was supposed to be a special day, and this bakery completely failed us. Save yourself the stress and avoid this place at all costs.

Pre-made gifts such as cookies in a basket for every occasion I went with a decadent dozen of cupcakes Beautiful and tasty. Nice and moist. The icings weren't premade sugar fluff. Pleasing to the eyes and yummy to the tummy

Oh my goodness! I walked into the store today for the first time and I was amazed! It is so pretty in here there are so many styles of cakes with so many ideas and themes. They have gifts for different occasions, they have bakery refrigerated cases, they have the tastiest treats and it's like being in a boutique for food. I hope you will come in and take a look because I know you will be so glad you did.

Tastries was so gracious to fill a last minute order for me. We had a white cake with strawberry filling & 36 matching chocolate cupcakes 1/2 water like and the others camo. Everyone scarfed them down, raved about them & loved how they brought my idea to life. The cake toppers were mine bought prior to ordering but they did an absolutely amazing job making this cake for my son who is an avid hunter & fisherman. Tastries will be my #1 referral for anyone who wants an amazing product. Thank you Tastries for helping make this day so special! We loved it all!

This bakery has been on my bucket list for a while now and I finally got to try some items!!! The tres leches is super rich chocolate but too rich for me I've had better, the banana pudding on the other hand IS AMAZINGGG so good and met my standard the peanut butter cookie had me in a chokehold as well!!!!definitely will be coming back

Absolutely amazing bakery! These wonderful people made my dreams come true with the cake and cookies I ordered for my boyfriend's Sheriff graduation party. Such great staff here that are so accommodating. I ordered less than a week before the party and they had no problem with completing my order. They allowed me to have a free cupcake to try their cake before purchasing. The cookies and the cake were not only beautiful, but they were also so delicious. We received so many compliments! The cake was so hard to cut into we wanted to save it forever!

We ordered a cake for my daughter's wedding this weekend and it was honestly the best cake I have ever had. So many compliments from our guests about how delicious it was and the cake was absolutely stunning! So much detail in the piping, just outstanding all the way around!

Cakes and all pastries are not great, items were tasteless and dry. Keep your religion to yourself and just run your business and stop being discriminatory.

I came in around 2pm on Christmas Eve with my son who was very excited. A friend of mine said she was able to purchase raw sugar cookie dough for $5.99 so it's easier just to come home and punch out cookies with her family. I called the store to ensure they sold raw cookie dough and was told "yes" and was even quoted a price, and once I entered the store my son and I were the only ones there. I was greeted by 2 kind young ladies but told that they did not sell cookie dough. They called the owner to double check and I was told that they don't sell raw cookie dough. Annoyed, I just went home and made my own sugar cookie dough with my son. Owning a business is hard, I have 1st hand experience. Communication amongst staff and consistency in what's offered to patrons is something I was not impressed with here. I'm sure the quality of desserts is great but I have yet to try it.

Amazing service. I've had the cakes here before, and they are so delicious. So, I had to get a cake from them for my friend's birthday. I was hoping to be able to get a viral vintage burn cake from Tik Tok, but they didn't have that wafer paper that goes on top. But they were so accommodating. I bought my wafer paper from Etsy, and they let me bring it in on the day of pick up, placed it on the cake beautifully. The cake was beautiful, and glittery. The paper burned perfectly. And the cake tasted delicious and moist. No dry crumbly cake here. Thank you, Tastries!

Best cake I've ever had! They really brought my dream wedding cake to life. It was not only beautiful to look at but after it was gone, I still wanted more. I got the blush with the strawberry filling and the lemon with lemon. Thank you so much for being such a great part of my dream wedding and a day I will never forget. I highly highly highly recommend!! They also have amazing staff. They are patient and so kind. The owner was absolutely amazing. And really helped dig into what we wanted.

Went to pickup an order for someone and it was my first time here. I was greeted immediately with all kinds of trinkets and decorations and of course baked goodies. I knew I wanted something but wasn't sure what exactly it was, so I decided to take a look at all they had to offer. First, I got exited about the macarons and cupcakes, yum! Next, I got to looking at the cookies. There were so many to choose from and some were frosted and others had icing or just plain. I went with the red velvet cookie and an iced coffee cup. After reading the reviews you would think everything is just terrible so I expected that, but I shouldn't have. The red velvet cookie was so soft and perfect, the way it should be. The iced cookie was also very delicious. I could have eaten dozens of those which made me regret not getting more. This is such a cute, unique bakery compared to others in town. I recommend checking it out, you won't be disappointed.

Creates a dessert bar with a birthday cake for my granddaughter. Cake was moist and delicious and the cookies were amazing especially the oatmeal chocolate chip. Service was fast and creative. The boutique is super cute and I purchased a book as a gift for her. Will try their sandwiches next time in the store.

I want to start off by saying that I have been doing business with Tastries for a few years now. I trusted them to do the wedding cake for mine and my wife's wedding which is no easy task. And boy did they deliver! Our cake was beautiful and not just that, but it actually tasted good, which is rare for wedding cakes! On our one year anniversary, I had Tastries remake the top layer of our wedding cake. Being that they had our order on file, we were easily able to find out exactly what cake and filling we ordered and we were able to enjoy our wedding cake on our first anniversary. Fast forward to now, my wife who is now seven months pregnant was really craving a good cupcake and we knew exactly where to go. of course after being there, she talked me into getting a slice of their Oreo cheesecake which I enjoyed over the course of two days. it was excellent. The staff here is always friendly. We simply called ahead to schedule our cake tasting for our wedding and the staff took care of the rest offering us plenty of ideas and even delivering the cake to our venue.

Absolute, best, most professional bakery in town. I had the most beautiful cake that was very tasty and loved by all my guests. The staff was very kind and efficient.

My grandson recently had Tastries make his wedding cake which was a real disaster! They failed to decorate it as ordered,put the wrong filling between layers and the fondant developed a large bubble on it. They charged $273.00 which was fine if it had been done correctly. When my grandson confronted them they offered him a $10.00 refund! Will never do business with them again and will encourage others to take their business elsewhere.

Tastries Created a BEAUTIFUL cake for my sons 1st Birthday! The design was spot on !!! The cookies and cupcakes were beautiful and everyone loved them ! I would only suggest a better system in regards to sending an "itemized" list of items/receipt to those who place online orders and live out of town..just to give a little piece of mind . Thank you again for the beautiful cake & desserts ! Highly recommend!

We have a young child who attends quite a few birthday parties regularly. My wife has a Gluten allergy as well as one of my daughters friends so we stopped by here to pick up some Gluten-free cupcake options so they could participate in the festivities without having Gluten. Most of the local bakeries now offer gluten free options but typically require you to pre-order them. I walked in here with zero notice and they had what I wanted ready to go along with several other options. I was in & out in under 5 minutes even with customers in line ahead of me. The only downside is they are closed on Sundays.

Walking by and curious if they made sandwiches. They don't but the cakes, cookies and cupcakes looked amazing! And then I saw a snickerdoodle cookie. Just had dinner, but I love snickerdoodle cookies so I had to buy one. Yes, the cookie was fantastically delicious. Nice friendly employees and were rightfully positive of that cookie being a good one to be had... thanks! Lots of other things for sale at thus place.

Cake tasted old and stale. Better to go to Albertsons or Vons for cheaper, better quality cake.

Good coffee On my way to San Francisco, I stopped in Bakersfield for gas and coffee. Tastries Bakery was near by, so after filling up the tank I stopped there for coffee. The lady who was behind the counter was very nice and handed me a cup to get my coffee. Like a dope after I filled up my cup with coffee I poured in vanilla flavored cream which I dislike big time! I was willing to pay for another cup, but the kind lady let me try again without an extra charge. The coffee was good and the bakery had delicious looking baked goods on display, but unfortunately I was not up for trying any this time. Next time through Bakersfield I will make sure to stop by again and taste a couple of goodies!

Called Tuesday am and was assured I did not need to pre order sugar free cupcakes, they always have them available. Arrived today to be told they have to be pre ordered!!!! Ridiculous! Do NOT go here, they do NOT know what they are doing.

I went to Tastries for my daughter's 4th birthday cake based on a friend's recommendation. To be a fair Yelp-er, they made a really pretty cake, a turquoise cake with pink flowers, and were able to match pretty close to the picture. Actually, their cakes are awesome. I became super uncomfortable though when I saw Bible scripture and a long list of anti-LGBTQ messaging in their binder. I was literally cringing when I handed over my credit card, but I had already provided all of the cake details to the front desk. I pulled two stars because I was so incredibly bothered by their refusal to make cakes for LGBTQ folks. I'm hoping that one day they will change or hire a baker who feels comfortable making cakes for EVERYONE.
