Where to Eat Brazilian Food Around Atlanta

"Mallú Cunha dedicates her home business to all sorts of gorgeous Brazilian docinhos that are typically ordered for children’s birthday parties, holidays, weddings, and special occasions. At the top of the list is the namesake: brigadeiros, a soft chocolate truffle rolled in chocolate sprinkles. However, Cunha’s menu features all sorts of sweets to choose from, including other iconic treats like beijinhos (coconut truffles), brigadeiro gourmet crocante de caju (truffles rolled in cashews), and olho de sogra (a prune stuffed with a beijinho). Yay! Brigadieros takes orders through Instagram and WhatsApp for pick up in Kennesaw." - Kris Martins

This cute bakery is filled with tasty snacks and a small selection of Brazilian goods. This is the perfect spot for a casual lunch or fulfilling an afternoon craving. Like other Brazilian bakeries, cakes are sold by weight, and the customer eyeballs how much they want to be given. They also have plenty of coffee drinks, which is great if you're avoiding sbux but want a satisfying cappuccino. Stop by and try it out!

Picked up a Brazilian bon bon (brigadeiros) here…so yummy! If you’re not familiar, they’re not like regular bonbons they’re made out of condensed milk. The best thing about visiting here was experiencing a new food culture! All of the treats looked fabulous. I didn’t order any menu food. I was kind of disappointed that the staff wasn’t more inviting as I walked in. Otherwise it’s a great set up for a quick bite or a dessert evening. I’ll probably be back to try some of the other menu items.

Ok, I'm impressed. We walked by this place so many times but today we popped in for wee date with my daughter. Service: Attentive and while it's a walk up and order system, those taking my order we're engaged, polite, and made me feel like they appreciate my business. They provided recommendations and insight and they were absolutely correct with their suggestions. Great service! Food: Y'all, this burger. I got the Tasty Max. Spend the extra money, it's worth it. It's a whole breakfast platter on a burger. Bacon, sausage, egg, and even crispy potatoes. Layers of texture and flavor! The fries were hot and crispy. Dessert: It's a Brazilian bakery, so many fun pastries. My daughter got a cream puff. The thing was massive with dulce de leche style filling and doused in powder sugar. The mini ham croissants were adorable and delicious. Drinks: Fresh limeade and a decent coffee selection. I had a latte with no extra flavoring and the staff know how to make a decent drink. The limeade was tart and refreshing. I think it's hand squeezed, but I'm not 100% on that. Pricing: Very reasonable for what we got. Huge burger and fries for about 10 bucks or so. Overall, however, it was well worth it. Check this place out! Great casual spot with refined eats.

Guy does not know what "Mocha" is. Ordered hot chocolate and it was brought to me dripping on all sides. What a mess. Table leaning to one corner every time I touch it did not help either.

Google
This place is a hidden gem. We tried the chicken and beef croquetas, and they were amazing. The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious, just like the ones you buy in Spain's supermarkets. The Acai bowl did NOT disappoint!!!. will be back.

Google
We arrived right before closing, and the staff, while closing up, couldn't have been friendlier. The cake and coconut roll were delicious. There was a crowd earlier in the evening but the place was empty when we arrived. We will be back, so yummy!!

Google
This cafe is such a hidden gem that I first discovered picking up a doordash and I just had to get something for myself, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable with a happy to help attitude and great recommendations regarding the menu. I ordered the tiramisu both times I came as well as the min lemonade and a beef pastry. Everything was delicious and fresh. They also sell fresh breads, cheese, whole cakes and more. I'd like to try the coffee menu next when I have a little more time.

Google
I had my first visit to this place today with my friends and I can say that it was definitely a good find. They serve amazing coffees, cakes, sandwiches and so much more. We ordered caramel/ hazelnut coffee, cappuccino, chicken sandwich, and chocolate cake. Everything was super delicious.

Yelp
Two words: Cheese Roll!!! The large version comes pre warmed. The mozzarella cheese is gooey and the sweet condensed milk is a perfect complement. They have the mini version from the serve yourself bakery display section and those are room temperature. I also tried the Brazilian cheese ball and it doesn't disappoint. The last item I tried today from the bakery display is chicken croissant/puff pastry.

Yelp
Tasty Bakery Cafe in Kennesaw was my first experience with a Brazilian bakery, so wasn't sure what to expect. Rather than a hole in the wall type of place that I envisioned, I was pleasantly surprised with bright and spacious interiors and modern design, and plenty of seating. They offer not only bakery items, but hot food, drinks and groceries as well. As we had already had breakfast, we went with lattes and slice of coconut cake for dine in. The latte was really underwhelming for a caffeinated drink and below average, but since it is a bakery, I won't fault them too much for it. The coconut cake was absolutely delicious and flavorful, bringing just the right amount of sweetness without being too sugary. The coconut was perfect along with the moist cake...you can tell it was fresh. We also picked up passion fruit cake and pao de queijo cheese bread for a Brazilian friend, and she commented both were great. Service was very friendly, and the Brazilian lady working there appreciated me saying "obrigado" (thank you in Portuguese). Overall, I'd skip on the drinks next time, but wouldn't hesitate to return to Tasty Bakery Cafe to indulge in their baked goods offerings.

Yelp
The best açaí bowl of my life. Probably the only authentic one I've ever had too. Friendly service too. I think the cakes are by weight - interesting concept and they let you sample. Will have to try next time.

Yelp
Oh my what a great place! Food was amazing, service was outstanding and the place was very clean. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
I had Omelette. But it looks like one microwaved. It was disappointing. The service was good. Very nice. Good bakery ambience. I didn't try bakery. But, I wouldn't come back for a breakfast.

Yelp
Definitely a thumbs up if you are looking for some creamy and super sweet cakes and pastries. They have got the mousse, the rolls, the buns and the cake slices. Have been here before and tried out their cake slices and mousse. Was really excited to visit this place again especially to take my friends along to try their delicacies before hot weather kicks in. Being a South American based bakery (their tagline reads Brazil) I expected them to be hard on coffee or cocoa. The chocolate mousse I tried last time was super cocoa-ic meaning tasted more like dark chocolate but this time after 2 years, i was in for a surprise. Yes we had the cake slice of White Chocolate truffle cake with ladyfingers, TresLeches cake slice and a cup of Tiramisu mousse cake. The white chocolate truffle and the TresLeches were pretty similar as the White chocolate truffle had TresLeches sauce on it. The White Chocolate truffle cake looked amazing and the creamy TresLeches slice was so good and appetizing. The sweet was abundant and I really loved it! The ladyfingers on the White chocolate truffle cake was okayish. Given a chance, just have one finger. The cakes were spongy and it's totally worth the money compared to many bakeries in the metro Atlanta region. The cup of Tiramisu was the surprise factor. Normally in any Italian restaurant/ bakery the Tiramisu is supposed to be of dominant coffee dusting and layers of sponge cake and cream. Here I felt the coffee very very lightly and it was more of a chocolate-vanilla cream mousse. But I just loved it. With some chocolate slices on the top with a thin mascarpone layer, it was just perfect for me. But did it qualify as a Tiramisu? No to me. Did it qualify as a very tasty random Choco-cream mousse? Yes! So if this is their way of doing Tiramisu, so be it and I would encourage you to try it. The place is less crowded most of the times and the people there are very friendly and helpful in making us choose the best ones. The ambience is good and it's well lit. Few tables outside as well for a good spring/ summer evening visit. They have their own section of other pastries and breakfast items. Recommend to check out their menu. BOTTOMLINE: Worth the money tasty and creamy cakes with a very unique taste of already established items! A must visit if you are a cake lover just like me. MY PICKS FOR YOU: TresLeches (any day) cake slice, Tiramisu Mousse.

Yelp
We tried Tasty Bakery Cafe tonight for dinner. There were several unique options. We split a corn and cheese rissole - it was very good! I got the cheeseburger with fries. My husband got the chicken pastel. We both enjoyed our food. While the burger was not the best I've ever had, it had a good flavor. The fries were delicious. The pastel had a lot of extra pastry to it. We did splurge and try a piece of the peanut butter cake - definitely worth it! Overall, we had an enjoyable experience at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere was relaxed and we had fun sitting and chatting with our friends.

Yelp
Great Coffee! Love the chicken croquettes (at breakfast, lunch or dinner time-lol) Yummy green juice (Suco Verde) Tried the beef patty today and while it was beautiful, moist pastry the ground meat was lacking flavor. l'll try the other versions NW t time. They also have breakfast items, a bean soup and chicken soup that I plan to try Customer service is always wonderful- staff is very nice and welcoming. If you haven't been you should check them out!

Yelp
What a special place I never thought of a Brazilian bakery, and it was delicious. We had a really good sandwich and chocolate mousse. It was less expensive than Starbucks! Try it, you'll like it

Yelp
Went here to meet up with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken sandwich and fries were delicious and the customer service was great. Only downside is I got an açaí smoothie and didn't realize they put condensed milk in it. I didn't find it very appetizing, but everything else was good

Yelp
We're getting our Subaru serviced and took a walk to the shopping center across the street. My husband, Dave suggested this cafe and I'm so happy he did! I had two cheesey delights: cheese roll and cheese and corn pastry. Both were not things I've tried before but they are both things I'd have again!! The cheese roll was so different and so great. It mozzarella cheese melted in a tasty sweet bread and covered in sweetened condensed milk and topped with coconut. How weird, right? But so incredibly delicious too. I loved the corn and cheese pastry too. The crust was perfectly flaky and inside was yummy corn and melted cheese. But the star of the show was the Tasty Max burger. It had beef, ham, bacon, corn, egg, potato straws. And the bun is homemade here at the bakery!! He loved this burger and it looked ridiculously good. The service was friendly and helpful and I just love this place. The more places I attend in Georgia, the harder it's going to be to leave!! Don't take my word for it, come by and "tasty" for yourself.

Yelp
Like this place a lot. Their lemongrass sandwich is way too salty way too much. Thai tea, and Vietnamese coffee are way to sweet. The bakery is awesome they have a good variety.

Yelp
While shopping in the area, we stopped in to try the bakery. It's a small place, but it was PACKED -- a good sign. We ordered four slices of cake (~$7 each). The chocolate cake topped with a chocolate sprinkle crust was the BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE I'VE EVER HAD! The vanilla passion fruit yellow cake was delicious and light, and tasted like a tropical tres leches. The chocolate passion fruit version was also really good. The fourth slice we tried was chocolate with a bonbon on top and it had great texture with chips and nuts. Our family loved them. The staff was very kind and helpful. It only took 10 minutes until we were outside with our slices, and considering the crowd inside and the awesome quality, it was well worth it. Now I know where I'll be buying all my celebration cakes!

Yelp
Wonderful people and the cakes are awesome. Very fresh. The staff is very friendly. The young man opened the door to help me out and my wheelchair. I was greatly surprised by the quality.

Yelp
Everything was delicious as expected and I'm just happy I don't have to drive to Marietta for some great Brazilian food!
google avatar

Chad B.

Yelp
I work nextdoor and eat there almost daily. They also serve great burgers and fries.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
I ordered the Oreo cake to celebrate my dad's birthday - the quality of the cake is well worth the price! It easily fed about 12 people and everyone loved it! I appreciate that they packaged it for easy transportation.

Yelp
Tasty Bakery Cafe sure is TASTY! I've been here twice. The first time was probably a year ago and the second was a few weeks ago. Everything looks the same; the pastries look just as scrumptious as I remember them! They have a pastry display case that's self-serve. Tongs, paper bags, boxes, etc are provided. More treats like full cakes and desserts are in the display case by the register, not self-serve. They have a great variety like yuca cake, coconut muffin, guava and cheese cake and many more. I got something sweet last time and was craving something savory this time. I helped myself to some pao de queijo (cheese bread) from the self-serve case and ordered a hot cappuccino with almond milk at the register. The bread was soft, cheesy and delicious! The coffee was strong and bold. The staff is friendly, the food is great and the prices are reasonable!

Yelp
We found this place while exploring places to eat in Kennesaw. We had the açaí bowl and it had all the best toppings (condensed milk, bananas, strawberries, granola, paçoca, and powdered milk). They have a very nice menu with all sorts of favorite Brazilian snacks that we missed. Definitely will come back again.

Yelp
Needed a coffee shop type locale in this area for a business meeting, so decided to try this. I think all were pleased. I was at first disappointed to find they did not stock traditional black teas among several tea selections. Turns out, this is Brazilian-themed & the lady at the counter explained black tea wasn't Brazilian. Ok. So, I got the ginger lime tea & it was quite good. Also splurged on a piece of tres leches cake & it was delicious. Other bakery items looked great too. Others seemed satisfied with their Brazilian coffees. Would go back if in area.
google avatar

Crystal D.

Yelp
What can I say? Just delicious. It was a mistake buying the guava and cheese croissant... because it was SO GOOD(!) and now I'm hooked! The coconut truffle was SO RICH, but also delicious. My least favorite item was a sweet roll, but probably just personal taste on that one. I will definitely have to be back.
google avatar

Richard P.

Yelp
We came because my wife is Brazilian but the facts lay in the flavors! Outstanding deserts and food made fresh bread made daily for freshness with great service. This is a great Brazilian restaurant love the people here!!
google avatar

Earl S.

Yelp
I stopped in last week to sample some of their delicious desserts, and they were very warm and kind, and also explained to me how it worked. They have an extensive menu and serve lunch options as well. They have a self-serve area and also options you can order from a menu. They also have a variety of different smoothies also. I very much like the atmosphere. Pre-COVID-19, they were very busy and I was in the area that day and noticed how popular they are. I decided to stop in receive and very easily recognized what the hype was about. Everything I sampled tasted delicious. Enjoy for breakfast, lunch, or even dessert.
google avatar

Chi Hye R.

Yelp
We ordered their ferrero rocher cake for my daughter's bday and it was one of the best cakes I've ever tasted. And I'm not even a big fan of cake. But I was a big fan of THAT cake.
google avatar

Teejay J.

Yelp
Amazing food, highly recommended to anyone who appreciates rich and fresh pastry! Loved it!
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
If you haven't you need to try this place. The staff was great and the food didn't disappoint! The cake with the strawberry on it was more fruity and the one with the truffle was more sweet. Both however were equally great! The only mad thing was we got there later so a lot of the cakes were gone so If you'd like more of a variety to pick from go a little sooner. I'm sad this place is so far away from my home otherwise I'd order all of our cakes from here!!!
google avatar

Jackie O.

Yelp
Yum! First time trying this Brazilian bakery that's close to home. We had to go back for seconds. The corn and cheese risolle might be my new favorite. The smoothies were very sweet and delicious. The restaurant was clean and service was great. We'll be back!
google avatar

Amanda T.

Yelp
Have you ever eaten something that was the equivalent of a hug for your insides? That's what the coxinha is for me. It's potato, cheese and deliciously seasoned chicken in a croquette breaded shell. Eat one. You'll love it. I don't know much about Brazilian food but everything I tried was incredible. The cheese bread is like a soft bread and a Red Lobster cheese biscuit had a baby. The sweet roll with chocolate and coconut was sticky but worth licking your fingers for. And the chocolate brigadiero made me do a happy dance (but that could have been all the sugar.) Top off your meal with a refreshing pineapple and mint juice, it's delectable. I wish I could but a gallon of that pineapple mint juice to combine with gin for a pool party.
google avatar

Ruby P.

Yelp
I love the coconut bun dessert -not sure what the name is though. The Bavarian donut was really good as well. Went back 2x for that. It's like a cinnamon roll but with coconut milk and coconut. Overall cafe is clean but the caramel sponge cake and guava sponge cake were not good at all super dry. Pricing is really decent and the cakes look really good too.
google avatar

Ragan U.

Yelp
Food is good. The Chocolate Strawberry cake is worth the trip in. Bathrooms clean. Parking easy and plentiful. Staff very friendly. Order at the counter, then find a seat and they bring it out.
google avatar

Yelp
Every single time I've visited this bakery, I go inside and order they tell me it'll be 5 minutes. I think they've been progrmmed to say 5 minutes. Today it was dead when I walked in. There was 1 customer eating. The 5 minute wait ended up being 17 minutes, but I wasn't surprised. This is the 4th time this has happened. To top it off, the food was terrible. It was stale and tasted as though it had been sitting out for ages. It was bland and dry too. I think this was my last visit ever. It's not worth the extra long wait, even though they claim it's only 5 minutes.
google avatar

Charlotte M.

Yelp
I bought a maracuya (passion fruit) cake from this bakery and it has been ine if the best cakes I've ever tasted in my life. The decoration and flavor profiles were spot on. The guests that ate from cake were raving about it. Regarding the price it couldn't get any better. It was very affordable and looked expensive. From now on this is my go-to cake bakery.
google avatar

Yelp
Tasty Bakery Café is awesome!! Visiting the café is like taking a small excursion into Brazil: Food-wise!! The employees are so terrific, the café is so nice, clean and welcoming!! And the food is so delicious!! Will be back!!!
google avatar

Yelp
We would not normally come up to Kennesaw just for breakfast (we live in Midtown), but having been up this way and consulting YELP for a recommendation), now that we have tasted their incredible breakfast sandwich on hot, freshly made bread, we've already come back a 2nd time, and have plans to bring friends in a couple of weeks. And if that wasn't enough reason, love that they will slice the thinnest slivers of their incredible cakes (priced by weight) which we bought several of, and brough home to enjoy on the following days. WONDERFUL!
google avatar

Codi H.

Yelp
I have had a craving for chocolate cake wowwwww !!! There is no way I could describe the decadent flavors popping off this cake !! I can't wait to go back. They charge by the weight so I only needed a sliver and it was just under $3. Perfect for what I was craving. I will def go BIGGER next time cuz it's worth it !!!!!!!

Ky M.

Yelp
Do not pass this place up! It is so yummy! They make everything in house including their buns for their sandwiches and let me tell you, YOU CAN TELL!!! They have a revolving door of customers picking up call ahead orders for there huge cakes. It is a family owned establishment and it is sooooo clean. We will definitely be back soon!

Raven N.

Yelp
Fantastic sweets!! We go every time we're in Kennesaw! The staff is friendly and polite. The cafe is lovely and very clean.

Yelp
This place is perfect - I just visited a few days ago and I've been back every single day to either study or pick up some of their delicious pastries and snacks. The atmosphere is quiet and friendly, the staff are so kind and welcoming, and the food is delicious. I usually go to Sweet Hut for studying since they have pick-up pastries and outlets but I've switched to Tasty because the food and desserts are far superior. The variety of savoury pastries is amazing - they have chicken, ham, beef and lots of cheese. The cakes are very moist and delicious (I've tried the Ferrero chocolate and the strawberry morango and it's perfect! Not too sweet, and freshly baked!) I love how they price the pastries on the shelf my weight. They even let you select how big cake slices should be and price it by the pound (around $9 per pound) so I can get my size of cake (a nice thin slice) for just a few dollars. Other cafes usually size out their cakes and sell them as individual slices but I feel great about selecting what size I'd like. They have pastries/meat pies for a set price of only $2 - $3 for a generous serving. Their popular chicken coxinha is a huge pastry with a TON of shredded seasoned chicken with a hearty, thick coating of cheese that almost tastes or has the consistency of potato. Just one was enough to fill me up for lunch. I highly recommend the guava cheese pastry they have in the shelf. It's SO delicious - sweet guava jam with a creamy white cheese with flaky dough. Great place to study and get some work done or meet with friends! Authentic, friendly, and definitely TASTY!

Yelp
I truly enjoyed the coxinhas. The strawberry cheesecake? Uhm, frozen and teeny! That was so disappointing.
google avatar

Yaja M.

Yelp
Very chic brazilian bakery at Kennesaw area, Great service and super clean. I ordered cheese bread, coxhina and bolo de cenoura, everything was delicious . Definitely recommend it and I'll be back soon.

Yelp
We stumbled on to this dessert place. It didn't disappoint. The cakes are charged by the weight. You tell them how big of piece you want and the weight it out. The cakes was indulgent. We tried two. One was rich and the other was fruity and both were to die for. I don't think you can go wrong selecting a cake from this place. The address led us to the corner of the strip mall so you might have to drive a bit further to find it.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
What a phenomenal little Brazilian spot! Cheese balls and pastries by the pound, coxinha (chicken, mashed potatoes, & cheese mixed together then breaded and fried), and plenty of other freshly made options. Fresh squeezed juices too, can't forget those. They're open 6am - 10pm M-F, 6 - noon Friday & Saturday, & 7:30 - 10pm on Sunday's.
google avatar

Puff B.

Yelp
It wasn't bad but I didn't really know what I was buying from the bakery case? And the employee didn't really know either-- a few of the goods in the case weren't labeled so who knows what I bought. The only menu is up at the register, but they really should come up with something better.
google avatar

Elsie F.

Yelp
Got the guava cheese pastry, chicken croquette, and ham and cheese croissant. Not much flavor, and mediocre overall if you've had real Brazilian pastries to compare to. Long life Porto's in Southern California!
google avatar

Cory H.

Yelp
Great food and nice people. It is farther back in the shopping center than the directions will lead you.
google avatar

Bridgette F.

Yelp
I've been here twice and so far everything is delicious and I can't forget to say, Ttasty! Perfect combination of sweet, light. Simply delicious!
google avatar

Ovais I.

Yelp
Amazing cakes and customer service. Highly recommend this bakery. The cakes are beautiful as well as delicious. I got the Tres leches and the Ferrero rocher for my wife's birthday, and everybody was infatuated with them. You will not be disappointed if you order from here!

Mikayla B.

Yelp
This charming cafe, is always consistent with their service & food!! It is always so quite and clean! I love coming here to study!
google avatar

Yelp
Owner is so sweet and the coffee smh omg it's amazing. Literally everything I tried from the potato chicken puff, to the cheese bread, to the cakes are incredible. Everything is light, flavorful, and fresh. Highly recommend you try them out for lunch or breakfast
