Tasty Pastry Review - Brooklyn - New York - The Infatuation

"There are a bunch of trucks hawking hot chocolate near the Dyker Heights Lights. Skip them and get hot chocolate and some Italian pastries here instead. You might have to wait in line once you’re inside, but at least you can spend time gawking at the sprawling pastry cases while you wait. This is one of the best Italian bakeries in South Brooklyn, and you’ll find all the classics, like cassata pastries and destination-worthy sfogliatelle. If you want something savory that you can eat while you walk, they also sell arancini, focaccia, and personal-sized pizzas." - Carina Finn

This bakery reminds me of your SF Chinatown mom and pop bakery good. They make cakes and all my favorite buns. I love the cocktail buns, pork buns and still need to try their steamed buns. They aren't as pricey as 85* bakery and pretty big size buns. I recommend stopping by and try them out!

Finally we got to visit and see what this bakery offers. Oftentimes, when we want to swing by its already closed by 5pm. Its a small bakery that offers similar breads from what you see at 85' only this one feels more homey than mass produced. Today was specifically looking for mocha cake. However, i found coffee cake so that should be similar. Am also trying the strawberry cake. Wanted to try some cookies next time. No more pork floss during our visit at 4:30pm. But they still have couple of meat pies.

Google
The pork meat pie is so well made pastry soft flaky and chew fill with well seasoned pork onions. One of the best on the go treats. The meat pie reminds me of New Zealand.

Was looking for a red bean bun and found this place. Very impressed with the variety of breads, cakes and buns (bao buns) here. They have Asian flavors that are not easily found in other Asian bakeries like pandan and of course they also have staples like taro, red bean, pork buns etc. On the weekend, they'd have special pastry (I'd have to come back and check them out) and they also sell some drinks like Vietnamese coffee and milk tea. The lady behind the counter was nice and friendly. Bring cash if you don't want to pay the 3% service charge.

This bakery is small but feels they have pretty authentic Cantonese style pastries! I had a Vietnamese Bao bun and a lotus stuffing pastry, both of them are delicious. The aunt works here is so kind and friendly, she helped me to heat the Bao so I could eat right after. I recommend here!

Google
Great place to pick up some sweet and savory pastries. Good selection and variety. It's a bakery to grab and go.

Google
This is my usual go to place for party trays! It's always ready by the time I'm there to pick it up. Just make sure u order ahead. The owner seems like a nice lady. The store front can use a remodeling job. That would probably attract more customers but if u want a quick place to just p/u something for a party this would definitely be it.

Google
Good Asian bakery. Got an Egg Custard Bun, Pineapple Taro Bun, and a Coconut Bun. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The fillings seem to be added before baking instead of after, so they are less than expected.

Yelp
In honesty this is a 3.5 but I round up because of the good service and the variety of options they have. They are all reasonably priced at around $3-6 per pastry. I will say that I agree with all the yelpers that this is a hole in the wall place located in a busy shopping center on convoy. The variety of cookies, cakes, buns and extra are good---see my pictures. The taste is ok, I would prefer sunmerry or even 85 to the bakery items that I picked. That being said I did not try the pork buns or the cakes. Again this is a rating based on the hope that the cakes and pork buns will taste well but the buns were cold to touch and I am sure there is something special about the cakes I just did not feel like dessert for lunch. They are located in such a strategic spot so some improvements on bakery items would make this place shine.

Yelp
I called this bakery to place an order for a two tier cake a few days before my brother and sister in law's engagement. Originally there wasn't going to be a cake but it was decided at the last minute (like 2 days before) that a cake would be fun. So I was tasked to pick one up and I'm so glad I came across Tasty Bakery! Irene/Eileen (?) the lady who answered the phone was quite accommodating. I knew that with a last minute order I couldn't be too picky but what they ended up producing was more than what I expected! I two a two tiered cake, yellow on the top and white on the bottom in a standard white sponge cake with cream and strawberries. They even asked if I wanted some flowers on it as well! The cake was so delicious! Everything one would imagine from an Asian bakery that makes the standard white sponge cake with strawberries! The place was a quaint ma and pa shop. I'm a fan! As it turns out , this bakery was the go to spot for my sister in law's family growing up. I'm a fan! Don't know when I'll get a chance to visit this place again but I wanted to let others know, this place is solid! Cheers!

Yelp
A very humble mom-and-pop shop with a friendly lady running the place. Their taro filling is the best--just the right sweetness. Definitely try the pineapple taro bun. I'd come back just for how well they do taro. Easy parking lot. Bring cash if you can. If using a credit card, there's a 3% surcharge, but the baked goods are so affordable, it barely makes a difference. I'll be back.

Yelp
This is a lovely family- owned and operated bakery in convoy! It is humble and simple inside but they offer everything from cakes, to pastries, meat buns, pate chaud, toasts, sponge cakes, pineapple buns, macaroons, etc. They also have a small drink menu that includes Vietnamese coffee, milk tea, etc. Everything looked so good, I had a hard time choosing! We chose their chicken bun, pineapple bun with cream, pineapple bun with taro. Everything we chose was delicious and the right amount of sweet and savory! They all tasted fresh and like something an auntie would make for a loved one. They accept cash and credit card. Free parking in the lot. They have been open for over 20 years and specialize in Chinese/cantonese baked goods and pastries. Please come support this local mom and pop shop!

Yelp
Got my mom a durian cake with coconut shreds on the outside for her birthday. She loved it! We also got slices of pandan coconut cake and taro. All delicious. We had leftovers and it was still soft and fluffy days later. Recommend!

Yelp
The curry pastry, Vietnamese meat pie, and bbq pork bun are all super tasty!! Delicious fillings with the perfect ratio to bun/pastry. I'll definitely be back to try other items, especially the ones on the sweeter side! Note: 3% charge on credit card charges

Yelp
I have frequented this bakery from time to time, but I'm not a huge fan of their packaged baked goods. For example, their pineapple bun does not taste anything like what I am accustomed to. It didn't have the taste, sweetness, or texture that you would expect in a pineapple bun. It was just bland, inadequately sweet, and didn't have the crisp top that you normally see. Their drip coffee (Vietnamese coffee aka cafe sua da) is just okay. It just doesn't have the right taste as well. Not sure if it's the coffee they use or what exactly is throwing the taste off. The place where Tasty Bakery shines is their cakes. The family loves the cakes here. They have some premade in the fridge and some in the display case that they sell by the slice. They offer different kinds of cake such as white, pandan, and taro. They also offer different kinds of filling mixed fruit, or just strawberries. The cream they put on the cake is light and not overly sweet at all (which is a plus). I have pre-ordered cakes the morning of a birthday or celebration, and was able to pick it up later in the afternoon. To be safe, it might be better to order the day before. The thing the family and I like about the cakes is that the cake is fluffy, not overly sweet (which allows you to really enjoy the flavor of the cake and the fruit), and that it tastes really fresh (everything from the cake to the fruit to the cream). Taro cake with strawberry is probably my favorite. Parking isn't a problem usually in this shopping center, unless it's peak hours. Service is just okay to good, never been bad. Cakes are a bit more expensive than before... but everything is (inflation sucks). We will continue to come here for cakes. Once in a while we might try the pastries in hopes they have improved, but they are still the same (just okay). 4 / 5: Cakes 3 / 5: Pastries and Coffee 3 / 5: Service 3 / 5: Cleanliness 3.25 / 5: Overall

Yelp
I typically come here anytime I'm down in San Diego. My go to has to be their bánh patê sô and curry pastry. Their cha siu baos are probably one of the best I've had. Every bite you'll get some cha siu, definitely no skimping on the filling here. There's a variety of other pastries and cakes on the menu and from what I've tried, everything's been delicious!

Yelp
I've only really had the Pa Te So, cause I'm a savory girl. But the flavors remind me of my childhood. I'm filipina, but growing up in SD, we had a lot of different asian options. But the Pa Te So's are delicious, like filipino empanadas! The out only other thing I've had there were the red bean buns. And those were as I expected, not amazing, but for the price it is a good value. The shop itself is small, order at the counter. No seating. Parking is terrible, but if you're familiar with the area, parking sucks within a 2 mile radius everywhere. Not their fault, so I can't knock 'em for that. I'll jump out, my husband will circle the area, then pick me up when done. Their cakes remind me of the birthday cakes I had a a kid too, especially the strawberry, will have to remember that later. Customer service is okay. I'm used to how asian service can be, it doesn't bother me. But it may bother people who are used to cheery, enthusiastic smiles. Don't take it personal, they're just being normal.

Yelp
Love a good family business, 10/10 recommend. It's like 85 degrees but way way better. That taro cake is so so bomb and the prices are great. It's for real an adorable bakery. We got the taro cake, the bbq pork bun, pandan sponge cake, onion hot dog bun, pineapple pun, and butter cookies with jam. Came out to like $17. I loved it 10/10.

Yelp
Walking into this bakery reminded me of Chinese bakeries in NYC Chinatown growing up ..or even the ones found in SF Chinatown. They have a good variety of traditional Chinese pastries, cakes and buns. I tried the sponge cake which was very moist and bouncy! The pineapple bun was good, but a tad dense for my taste. (However, put it in the toaster and it gives the top a good crunch! Don't forget to add butter inside!) The curry flakey pastry was very good as well. Staff are very "no nonsense" so don't expect a lot of chit chat. Overall great place to get some legit Chinese buns and pastries!

Yelp
You got to try their fresh meat pies!! The best in town. I tried all their buns and cookies too and never was disappointed. Nicest people running the place. Cash preferred. Recommended!

Yelp
I'd go here just for the curry puff. My cousin ordered a huge batch for like an appetizer for his wedding and it was so good. I could eat like 10 in one sitting but I had to refrain from consuming all of it. It's super flaky and it's pretty juicy and lasts a while because we ate it a couple hours later after picking up the order. Everything in it was flavorful and it was such a good combination of textures since it was warm and crunchy!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Fast service, the pastries have the perfect amount of sweetness . The pate chauds are also big with a lot of filling compared to the competitors in San Diego. They also make smaller ones in case you want those catered.

Yelp
This is a family run, true mom and pop place. They are pros at asian bakery cakes. I ordered a full sheet sponge cake with strawberry, whipped cream, and mixed fruit on top. It was super fluffy and guests raved about it. The order process was straight forward. They made sure i was happy with the writing on top and even helped load it into my car. Would definitely order from them again.

Yelp
Put simply, I needed a cake for my birthday picnic. I grew up eating countless Chinese birthday cakes from the Bay Area- I knew exactly what I wanted and Tasty Bakery delivered on all of it. I stopped by in person 4 days earlier to put in an order - I knew they'd have reference pictures and I'm a stickler for detail. I ordered a classic 1/4 sheet vanilla cake with peach filling and whipped cream icing. They had a very straightforward ordering sheet in English (though they were also fluent in Cantonese). Fresh fruit filled, decorated simply, not super sweet vanilla cake (which compared to American saccharine cakes is what I was going for). I originally had 20 folks coming to my picnic but only 12 ended up coming out, so there were PLENTY of leftovers - only half the cake was eaten - I'm glad I took the cashier's recommendation and stuck to the 1/4 sheet! Payment was cash or card; a friend picked up my cake for me the day-of and there were no problems reported. You have to bring your own cake knife, though, they did not provide a disposable one for you. Also, the cake still tastes just as good after a day on the fridge! I'm eating it for breakfast right now.

Yelp
So happy I stumbled into this bakery! Not only do they have a handful of delicious options (pork buns, pork sun rolls, custard buns, taro buns, pate chaud, the list goes on and on) the price is right and they're family owned! Love supporting local and this is an easy way to do it. I've had a bit of everything I bought and the consensus is, portions were big, fillings were generous in both my pate chaud and custard buns, and everything is just so suft and comforting. Tastes like home! Customer service was also super nice!

Yelp
Tasty Bakery is hands down one of the best bakeries in San Diego! My family and I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. They have an extensive menu with so many items to choose from. I highly recommend their Chinese BBQ pork and Vietnamese steam buns. My husband is a huge fan of their meat pies (bánh patê sô). I always order in advance a dozen for him and his family. Their half taro and green coconut cake with filling - it's simply to die for!

Yelp
We were coming from out of town and needed to place an order for my daughter's 2nd birthday. The mother and son team were so nice on the phone; they talked out options to match our Moana theme and we landed on an ocean/beach landscape so I could add Moana figurines to be reused as toys. The price was so reasonable but above all- the cake was delicious! Very light and fluffy without being dry. The taro filling was the star. We also took home some pate so and bao- also delicious and flavorful! Thank you so much!

Yelp
This place is sooo yummy! I ordered a birthday cake for the same day was able to personalize everything - cake flavor (obvi), filling(s), frosting, toppings, side toppings, and message! There were MANY flavors available. But I was only looking for a taro cake. Which they had!! The complete order a taro cake, with taro coconut filling, white frosting, strawberries on top, and coconuts on the side. The cake wasn't too sweet and was beautiful! My boyfriend loved it! I also bought a few other little pastries and they were also very yummy. Will definitely be back for my taro cake needs

Yelp
Unassuming, no frills bakery in the heart of Convoy. Close to 163 on/offramp and worth the quick grab-and-go for breakfast. Sweet egg custard and BBQ pork were both delicious with a perfect texture and bread to filling ratio. So many options to choose from and friendly customer service. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I feel like all traditional Chinese/Vietnamese bakeries are located in City Heights and I wanted a very specific flavor that 85 degree, Paris Baguette, and 99 ranch did not offer. I wanted pandan with durian fruit fillings in the Convoy area. So I found Tasty Bakery. This bakery sells individual baked pastries like pate chaud, pandan coconut slices, salted egg sweet bun, taro bread, boba drinks, and cakes. There are already made cakes in the fridge ready to be sold or you can pre-order to customize your own. What to keep in mind: 1. Inside cake flavor - I got pandan 2. Fruit fillings - I got durian 3. Outside icing color - I didn't understand her and when I picked up, I got a green came which is the color of pandan. I would have asked for pink. 4. Side decoration - I got almond slices 5. Writing - I got happy birthday 6. Writing color - I got red 7. Cake size - I got the smallest which was 6 inches for $28. About 6-8 slices. 8. Pick up date - It was a Sunday and I asked for Tuesday but they are closed Tuesday and offered Monday. Which means they can take orders in 24 hours. 9. Fruit toppings - such as strawberries or cherries. I got strawberries. The cake turned out amazing and delicious. The cake is very moist, fluffy, light just like a sponge cake material. It's green with the pandan flavor. In between the layer are full chucks of durian. The green icing was not too sweet. Im already looking forward to ordering a taro jackfruit cake for the next celebration.

Yelp
Came here after boba and near the closing and was delighted to see plenty of extra options! My boyfriend got a pork bun and a little red bean cake which he really liked. The chocolate chip cookies are also really good! I got a loaf of bread and it's just so good!! The bread is very soft without being overly sweet! Will definitely be coming back again because their cakes looked so good!!!

I love the pa te so here! So good. If I have a small gathering I usually get them from here :)

Yelp
I have wanted to try this place for a long time. It's in the same shopping center of two stores that I frequent and I've looked around but never tried. Yesterday they were opened and I just had to take the opportunity to see what they're all about. I am very sad to say that I was immensely disappointed. It was pretty quiet inside, looked fairly clean and there was one person working that I could see. I have no complaints about the service, I only asked a question and paid so there wasn't much to it. They accept cards with a $5 minimum which I think is totally reasonable. The store had lots of sweet bread items pre-wrapped in plastic but I went for the fresh cakes and desserts in the refrigerated section by the register. There was a beautiful looking cake called "coffee fruit cake". I asked the person working about it and he said it was coffee flavored cake, whipped cream and that the only fruit was the few pieces on top that were decoration. It was very inexpensive, under $5 so I excitedly purchased it. I hate to say it, but I didn't like the cake at all. There were two round mini sponge cakes with cream in the center and all around it and then it was topped with a little fruit. The cake was very very bitter, I've never experienced that with a cake before. I wasn't expecting it to be super sweet since most cream cakes I've tried in the area aren't. I didn't taste any coffee. The cream on the outside of the cake was also very bitter, the only cream that wasn't was the small amount between the two sponge cakes. I LOVE cake but just couldn't eat it. I gave it a good try with a few bites and had to throw it out. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is strictly due to flavor and the fact that I just wouldn't return here and wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. It was fine inside and the service was fine too.

Yelp
Pâté chaud (French for "hot pastry pie"), A.K.A. bánh patê sô, are the best! I am a sucker for any kind of meat pie- from empanadas to pate en croute- I will never say no. These were delicious! Full of flavor and not too salty, lots of onions and the most buttery flaky crust! I will definitely be back for more in the morning. By late afternoon, the crust wasn't as flaky as I'm sure it was when it came out of the oven. Still, amazing! The curry flavored half moon pastries in the case above the bánh patê sô, were also tasty- full of classic sweet, mild curry like I grew up eating, except now contained a delicious crust. I also tried the savory bao- both the chicken and the beef with egg and onion. These were good but not great, the textures were a little wonky for me- there were large thick chunks of lap cheong (sausage) mixed with egg and ground meat. I typically love lap cheong in lo mai gai, but this form wasn't as addicting. I will have to retry them when they are fresh out of the oven. I discovered that microwaving is not optimal.

Yelp
I've visited this tiny bakery several times. Mostly for their savory baos (buns). I was in this plaza some time ago to get my hair done. It was going to be a long process so I wanted to have a bun or two to snack on at the hair salon. The bakery has a variety of sweet and savory items. The savory buns I get aren't heated. They're in plastic wrap and served room temperature. I thought that might be an issue since I wouldn't have access to microwave. The prices per bun weren't too bad (maybe $2 each?). I enjoyed the egg/pork bun. The pork tasted delicious and I enjoyed the hard boiled egg inside. Sounds weird but it worked. The chasu bun was fine but just not as savory - the pork was a bit sweet but I'm sure others wouldn't mind. Overall, a nice mom/pop bakery that's been around for some time. Glad to see them doing well.

Yelp
This mom and pop shop makes my childhood version of Pate Chaud. Peppery meat with the flakiest and butteriest puff pastry. The prices are so affordable that I always hook up my brothers and sisters with a few dozens. Yes, I'm the one that cleans them out. Please don't stay mad at me!!
google avatar

Yelp
Best place to get your traditional Chinese sponge/chiffon cakes!! Never disappoints! Light airy soft moist cakes, light whipped cream not too sweet & inexpensive! Our faves are the coconut strawberry pandan taro & durian flavored cakes!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Not sure why this place has such few stars but it's your typically Chinese/Vietnamese bakery. From pastries to bread, cakes, steam buns, and fruit smoothies! I specifically came for the BÁNH PATÊ SÔ aka meat pie! It sits at $1.80ea. I've had these before at k sandwhich but this place is the REAL DEAL. The nice crispy outer layer and flavorful meat is the perfect combination! My boyfriend also ordered the durian smoothie! It was $5.25 for a regular size cup but they use real durian and the lady definitely didn't skimp out on it because I can definitely smell it from afar unlikely other places that add a lot more ice cream or ice. Definitely worth it! It was a mom and pops shop and I love supporting shops like this! They will be seeing more of my face here soon

Bella D.

Yelp
I LOVE this spot! Family owned, local, small business. I usually get the iced coffee, milk tea, or taro tea and along with their packaged baked goods to snack on through out the week. They make awesome grab and go treats for the busy week! Everything I have tried here is AMAZING! Cakes, pastry, sweet, savory, drinks! They do it all!

Yelp
Price is very affordable Taste and Texture are perfect Variety of flavor in buns, the taro and pork are my favorite conveniently located next to Boba Time, yummy combo

Yelp
Probably closer to two 1/2 stars. unimaginatively prepared desserts and barely tasty. I do not plan to return.
google avatar

Silvia L.

Yelp
I just tried a slice of cake from here and it was delicious! The cake was purple and tasted like taro flavored, covered with cream, and with sliced strawberries in the middle. It was left over cake from a party. Not that sweet. The cake itself was soft, fluffy, and had a good dense but also airy texture to it. I feel like its a winner for those who don't want their cakes to be that sweet. The cream is not that sweet and the cake itself is not that sweet either. I became an instant fan so that's how I found out its from this bakery and I plan to get other cakes from this bakery in the future to try!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
I come here regularly for their curry pastry and pate so pastry. Both are tasty and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Jen H.

Yelp
Pretty awesome asian cakes here! I ordered a 6" taro cake with durian filing and it was delicious. Not too sweet. The price was very fair too. I believe it was around $30! The decor and aesthetic is not as nice as what you would see on the Food Network/French bakery, but it tastes good! You can't get these filling at a non-asian store! We also place an order on a durian smoothie, and it was delicious! They were very generous on the amount of durian used. Best to just get the smoothie without boba/pearls! Until next time, we will be back!

Magdalena A.

Yelp
The pastry and bread really taste good. But kinda far from my house and pricey but I guess it's worth it because it's really tasty.

Yelp
They carry Pate Chaud (Bánh Patê Sô) -- that's three stars alone! I haven't had Patê Sô in years. Years! I wish I could source my first memory, but I don't recall if it was in high school or college when I was first introduced to Patê Sô. It must have been a warm day with a cool breeze. I recall thinking that Patê Sô is a beautifully constructed pasty, with its ruffled edges, and full of either beef or pork. Two or three bites and it's gone, so perfect quick breakfast or snackie thingie. Tasty makes its Patê Sô with delicious mounds of minced pork and grilled onions. Slightly oily, as Patê Sô tends to be. Full of amazing flavor! With a light crust that falls to shambles with every bite. And massive! Nearly twice as large as I expected, and for just under $2 each. A tiny bit steep in the price, but not too bad for an ever-so-often treat. FYI -- they sell smaller ones for parties. I am hooked, and will drive the distance to order Tasty's Patê Sô. It's so addicting. That amazing crumbly crust is part of what draws you to Patê Sô. It is like the powdery dust on your Doritos. It's like that lovely bitter-burst to your taste buds that makes you pucker when you eat a delicious pickle. It's like the juice squirt from a plump grape. All these things are experiences that come with enjoying certain, specific foods. The crumbly crust -- that IS the Patê Sô experience. Oh! ...what else does Tasty have going on? Oh, yeah. The bakery, which specializes in Chinese and Vietnamese treats, makes crispy cake (apparently it becomes crunchy as you eat it), different types of toasts and rolls, steamed buns and also sweet and savory moon cakes. Tasty mass produces moon cakes for the Moon Festival, held early in the fall. I didn't give it four stars because the other treats I tried were too sugary sweet for my tastes.

Yelp
This is definitely my favorite place to get banh pate so! They have a nice crispy outside with a flaky crust but the inside is a flavorful meat filling that is nice and moist. They are $1.80 which is a pretty good price for the size. We always have to stop by to get a few when we are in the area. Parking can be a challenge sometimes since it is in a busy plaza. The bakery itself is pretty small but the staff is always friendly and willing to help. Not too busy so we usually don't have too much of a wait!

Yelp
We stumbled in here after eating a huge meal a couple doors down. I was full, but it's a bakery, so naturally I had to pick something up for later. The selection is pretty good for a small space. The front area is rather small, but the kitchen area looks to be a lot bigger. There's also plenty of parking in the shared lot. I gotta say, the cakes looked delicious! They had a nice variety of cakes, including green tea, taro, strawberry, ect. In a refrigerated area they also held birthday cakes. Looks like they make them to order, something to keep in mind for the future. We mostly picked up cookies, almond Neapolitans, and a couple Pa Te So. The almond Neapolitans were probably my favorite item. They were so light and flaky and only slightly sweet, definitely worth a trip back. We got some butter sprinkled cookies and chocolate dipped madeleines. My son ate the cookies and said they were very good. The young guy that helped us was very nice and accommodating, as we were paying his mother came out from the kitchen and helped bag everything up with a smile and thanks. Also the prices are a worth a mention as they are more than affordable.

Yelp
We went Wednesday afternoon and got so many buns. Steamed and baked BBQ pork buns (delicious), chicken buns (pretty good), and the pork sausage and egg bun (very good). We also got pineapple top buns (yum), coconut buns (good), and the coconut custard buns (fantastic). The guy was super helpful - you had to ask for some buns cause they're in the back. He said they bake buns Wednesday morning, so we got there at the right time. Happy to find a legit Chinese bakery.

Yelp
I'm so pleased that Tasty Bakery has somehow survived almost a year in to the pandemic when so many family business eateries have gone under. My favorite items there are their curry puffs and meat pies/puffs. Curry puffs can be a very individual thing....some like flaky puff pastry, others like a doughier, or crispier/fried wrapper. The ones here are baked, with a light & flaky crust and a moist, tasty (true to their name!) ground beef & onion filling. Prices have inched up, but I hardly begrudge them the inflation-adjustment - and am simply relieved & overjoyed that they are still around to give my fix every time I visit the area. The meat puffs are just as tasty, perhaps a tad heftier than the curry puffs - helpful perhaps to curb the manic gorging. I thought long & hard about writing this review....part of me wants to keep this place secret, so they don't get too cultishly popular. But the nice Vietnamese owner deserves as much success as she can handle, especially in these difficult times. So go on....tell only your closest, most trusted kin...the ones who deserve a reward.

Yelp
Their buns that they have here are delicious, great price and they are well served with meat inside. By far best Vietnamese coffee I've had they give you the option for regular or strong!

Yelp
I love their cakes! My family loves the fluffy sponge cake and light whipped cream frosting. If you love dense cakes with really sweet buttercreams this is probably not for you. I've gotten pandan cake with regular vanilla frosting, vanilla cake with a strawberry filling and even durian (yes they have this unique flavor here!). All delicious! They offer two flavors in their cakes like half strawberry filling half chocolate or whatever - even in their smallest round cake. I also love the fruit toppings (they still offer frosting flowers?). The fruit topping is always fresh and delicious. As others mentioned, their pate so is delicious!!! I love the flaky crust with the tasty center !! I think its like pork or beef with onion, garlic, pepper and other stuff. Must try! Delicious toasted up too. Fast service. I can call in the morning and pick up my order 1-2 hours later. Support local family business! (:

Yelp
Wonderful selection of savory baked goods. I recommend the pa te so, it's this sort of flaky baked food that has pork on the inside. It's extremely good freshly baked as well. The other buns are also good, I haven't tried the dessert yet. 10/10 would recommend!
