24 Hours of Asian Food in Richmond, B.C. | Eater Seattle

"Bathed in neon for nostalgic flair, I go to Tasty BBQ & Beer for late-night fun—there are indulgent plates like braised pig’s head with crepes and pan-fried free-range chicken with oysters, but I often stick to BBQ skewers (Angus beef, chicken wings, lamb kidney, pig intestine) and sample beers or their playful Vita Cocktails (juice-box drinks paired with sample-size liquor bottles served bulldog-margarita style); last call for food is 11:30 p.m. and the bar closes at 1:00 a.m." - Jay Friedman

Great food and ambience for small groups. Came here for a business dinner in the early evening, great time. Pros: -Skewer menu design great for sharing food with a group. -Wide selection with multiple interesting ingredient mixes. Something for everyone. -Cozy environment, easy to talk across tables without yelling. -Decorated like cyberpunk 2077 inside…just a fun place visually. -Great experience. Definitely recommend. Cons: -Confusing method of ordering for dine-in. -Order accuracy not 100% -Some food (likely high volume items) obviously prepared early in bulk then kept warm…sometimes tough.

They open at 8:30. If you want to have a taste of Northern Chinese style breakfast, this restaurant is a must try. Be careful of what you order, the portions are very big for breakfast or early lunch.

A friend told me this place is famous for its skewers, but we came early in the day for brunch instead. The minced pork rice noodles were comparable to some of the good noodle spots in Richmond, and the portion was huge. The fried pancake was also excellent — very close to the flavor I remember from back home. The fried dough sticks were fresh too, though the pork knuckle rice was a bit disappointing, as it lacked aroma and seasoning. Overall, still a nice experience — I’d come back to try their skewers next time.

Price adds up quick, but great selection of food and drinks. The beef and chicken skewers are first rate and can't be beaten.

Eclectic, engaging, and bustling establishment...the neon and energy reminiscent of many Asian street hawker markets... Selection of food was varied and plentiful, with many of the standard fare for both adventurous and less-adventurous diners. Generally, food was serviceable, flavourful, but with some dishes a tad over-cooked and tough, while others spot-on...but, that being said, in my humble opinion, the major draw of this place is the ambience, the let's get together with a group of friends for a fun-filled evening to catch-up over some food and drinks...with this goal, this suits to a "T"!!! The servers were purposely borderline invisible, but efficient, as a "call" button was available should one find the need to wave down a server... Would we return...with the many similar establishments, this one does not distinguish itself from the pack, but, it would still be a consideration should we feel the urge to find some Asian tapas...

We decided to try some skewers at Tasty BBQ and Beer Bar. A server quickly took us to our seats. The first thing you notice is that there are a lot of neon signs in a fairly dim restaurant. The music was blasting and Wolverine or one of the X-men was on all 4 screens beating to the music. Not quite sure how to explain it. It was an overwhelming stimulation for sight and sound. The menu was extensive and drink selection good. We ordered an assortment of skewers and a trio of marinated seafood. One complaint I have is that they have a minimum number of skewers for each meat. So for some you cannot just order one or two but you need to have 4 or 6 skewers. This makes it difficult for couples to try everything. That being said everything was seasoned well and tasted good. The scallops were delicious! The marinated jelly fish was yummy. The service was a hit and miss. The servers were helpful in explaining the menu however after the initial order was brought they did not come around to check and ask how are skewers tasted or if we wanted to add to our order or needed more drinks. I also had ordered stinky tofu skewers and was wondering why they did not come yet. One server told us he would check and add it to our order. I actually waited 20 minutes or more before they came back to tell me they were sold out. Overall the atmosphere and service was ok and the food good. I would definitely recommend coming as a group so you could try more things on the menu. I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could. It is worth a try if out in Richmond.

Was a cool place to try. Food was decent but some items a bit over priced. The beef’s skewers were decent but worked out to be over $17 for 4 as there is a minimum per skewer purchase. Very difficult to try more than a couple things this way. The best thing we ordered was the eggplant. It was only $9 and great value. The chicken skin could serve 4-8 people as an appetizer. Way too much for us. Should be half the size. Wings were good and salmon sashimi was good. Overall a good experience but don’t expect a lot of food for the money.

This is a great restaurant with delicious food. I am Australian and staying at a hotel nearby. I was craving Asian seafood and saw this restaurant had clams on the menu, It did not disappoint. I also had the scallops and wagyu skewers All of the food was delicious and the staff friendly . I will recommend
