The 22 Essential Dim Sum Restaurants in Los Angeles

"Tasty Box Dim Sum is a fast-casual dim sum spot (not to be confused with Cantonese barbecue restaurant Tasty Box located in the same plaza). While there is some outdoor seating, most people prefer to grab dim sum to-go. Hone in on the restaurant’s more unique items, like pu’er barbecue buns that are infused with tea flavor and quail egg siu mai. Online ordering is available for those wishing to skip the line, but for everyone else, grab a clipboard with the menu and mark the items desired." - Kristie Hang

I recently visited Tasty Box, and true to its name, every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. The Dumplings with shrimp were perfectly crafted, with a delicate wrapper and a flavorful filling that left us wanting more. The Spareribs in black bean sauce were tender and rich, with a savory depth that made them an instant favorite. The West Lake Beef Soup was another standout, with its hearty and comforting flavors, making it the perfect dish to round out the meal. Each dish was well-prepared, and the quality of the ingredients really shone through. The portions were generous, the presentation was appealing, and the flavors were spot on. Tasty Box truly lives up to its name, and I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. Highly recommend!

Google
Wonderful place to pick up your dim sum favorites! Got the century egg porridge and the wrapped glutinous rice and both tasted excellent. It was really nice to be able to enjoy some dim sum without the noise of the dim sum restaurant. Will definitely be back here for more in the future

Google
Diamond Bar eatery with takeout dim sum. They’re currently open during covid for takeout and do have some tables outside for outdoor seating, though most people just used the tables to wait for their food before leaving. There’s ample parking as it’s in the H Mart plaza. Credit cards are accepted but there’s a 5% discount if you use cash. The cashier is super friendly and you first pencil in your order on a slip of paper, and then you’ll provide it to them and pay. It took about 10 minutes for our food to come out on a Sunday around noon, which was pretty quick seeing as there were at least five other parties. Food-wise, they have all the tasty dim sum favorites. The BBQ pork baked buns particularly stood out to me for how light and airy the dough was. Similarly, the pineapple buns had a great texture with just the right amount of sweetness in the filling. The quail egg shu mai was cooked inside (which I hadn’t seen before) and I was glad to have tried it, although I still prefer the regular siu mai. The fried pork bun (xian sui guk?) was also very yummy. They have pictures of the food inside on their overhead menu if you have difficulty choosing. Overall, it’s a good option for dim sum if you don’t feel like driving out too far and are in the area.

Great value! Took 5 minutes to order and get the food at noon on Saturday. $10.99 for duck plate and +$2 for chrysanthemum tea.

Google
Exceptional Hong Kong style Dim Sum place. Small but yet it doesn't matter as their Dim Sum are fresh and delicious. I'd say much better than many traditional dim sum restaurants in LA.

Joe Reyes

Google
No frills DIMSUM DELI in the southern section of Diamond Bar. Food is tasty and inexpensive. You can choose to dine in or eat at the benches outside.

Google
Was stuck in traffic and wanted to stop by somewhere on the way home. Ordered the beef and egg gravey over rice and the seafood tofu soup. Both were really good and they gave us a big portion and for the price it's actually alot of food! I will come back next time for the dim sum! Definitely worth stopping by.

Google
Ok, if your mission is great dim sum for a fair price, this is the place. People drive miles to munch on traditional dim sum favorites. Bao and shumai are tasty. I like the milk tea too. Get a mix of things and share. The red bean paste sesame seed balls are excellent (ごま団子).

Yelp
We were visiting near the Southern California city of DiamondBar and tried a local favorite-Tasty Box HK Bistro restaurant. Our server was very helpful and helped with suggestions. We tried a few dishes from their Dim Sum menu including delicious Spareribs with black bean sauce for $5.25 Pork and Shrimp siu Mai 4 pieces for $5.25 Sesame balls with meat stuffing 3 pieces for $4.99 For our main dishes we chose their crispy garlic pork knuckle for $17.99 French style filet mignon cubes for $19.99 braised tofu for $13.99 and Singapore style vermicelli for $14.25 For drinks we tried their HK milk tea for $3.50 served hot or cold ( we chose cold) and was traditional and tasty! They also feature family style combos for better values! All in all we were very pleased with the value, portion sizes, flavor and freshness at our Tasty Box HK Bistro experience in Diamond Bar California! Open 6 days a week-closed Wednesdays. . . . #tastyboxhkbistro #hongkongfood #diamondbarchinesefood #ilovechinesefood #noodles #friedrice #noodles #stirfry #seetheusa #foodphotography #congee #dimsum #deliciouschinesefood

Yelp
I get so confused between this Tasty Box Bistro and the other Tasty Box located in the same plaza, just cross from each other! We frequently visit this location for Mapo Tofu ($13.25) and order over the phone to avoid the 15-25 minute wait. Good portion of mapo tofu with ground pork. The tofu comes in good size chunks which I appreciate instead of little small cubes that break fairly easy. Small eatery with only 5-8 tables indoors and a few outdoor tables. Dimsum seems to be a popular here as I've seen many people dine here for it but haven't had a chance to try it out. Located in the same plaza as H-Mart, right by the Starbucks.

Yelp
What?! No wait, WHAT?!! Wow!! Delicious We've been coming up here on occasion because our son goes to Cal Poly P. We've hit up the Korean restaurant next-door, Young Dong Tofu, several times because it's my son's and wife's favorite. However, we came up this time and the tofu house was packed out. The wait was longer than we wanted to sit around for so we were about to leave and try something different. Glad we did! Really good, fresh Chinese right next door. So glad Young's was crowded. We ordered the combo A and decided to go with the Hong Kong pork and Mongolian beef. What a sweet surprise. Not sure why this place is getting less than 4.5 stars. Of course, if you got your heart set on Korean food, this isn't it, but my vote would be to come hit up this place as my first choice And then if they're too busy, see about something else. Give it a shot if you haven't already. I'm definitely going to be back.

Yelp
If anyone was looking for the perfect salt and pepper chicken wing, this place is it! Got it as takeout and it was ready super fast and super hot. It stayed fresh on the drive home. Crispy (not crunchy) skin with a light batter, extremely juicy meat, and seasoned to perfection with little bits of onion and jalapeño. It's just the perfect salt and pepper wing...

Yelp
We accidentally went to the original Tasty Box and was informed that we were looking for It's sister location in the same plaza next to Starbucks. The staff were super friendly and moved tables for us. She was so nice and brought filtered water for my kids. There are roughly 8 small tables in the tightly packed restaurant. They menu is pretty big and was super excited that they had pan fried sticky rice which is my daughter's favorite. They also had another hard to find item near us, crispy noodles with gravy. There are very few places near us that do this well. We were super happy with everything we got. Highly recommend the pork chops with honey garlic sauce, braised green beans, and eggplant with pork.

Yelp
I like the new and improved Tasty Box. This location when it first opened served only dim sum. Since then they have transformed their menu and added stir fry dishes, rice and noodle dishes, and a bunch of special new dishes. They even have an special breakfast combo menu to compete with the other Hong Kong cafes in the Rowland Heights area. This location is open for dine in. There might be around 8 tables inside, and a few tables outside. I normally order take out. Service is good every time I've showed up. Tommy and his crew do a good job. The waitress recognizes me both on the phone and in person. Some of the standout dishes that I keep on ordering are the pork ball congee, siu mai, shrimp and chive dumplings, rice noodle rolls, seafood chowmein and their pork chop with eggplant. They have lots more on their menu that I still need to try. It's a good place. I like that their menu has evolved to what it is today.

Yelp
the convenience of this place, the nostalgia, and just its existence makes me happy that its local. the service is prompt and they serve everything i need in a hk cafe/dim sum place. the only small complaint was that i ordered eggplant under the vegetarian dishes but it comes with pork strips. make sure to let them know to take that out if you intend it to be a vegetarian dish!
google avatar

Jenny V.

Yelp
Plenty of parking, located inside a plaza. If ordering to go, best to order over the phone. Got the dim sum stuff. Pork and shrimp Siu Mai, shrimping dumplings, lotus rice wrap, and beef stew over rice. Food was very flavorful and good.

Yelp
Tasty Box was a restaurant I would previously brag to my Rowland Heights and Orange County friends that we had such a quality dimsum place so close to home. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. The quality has gone significantly down since their cutting down of their dimsum offering with the split between Tasty Box HK Bistro and Tasty Box BBQ. Over the past months, we've experienced undercooked rice in their Lo Mai Fan and soggy and oily Ham Sui Goks. While their Rice Noodle has been getting worse along with these dishes, it has not gotten to this point where it's inedible like this. Not only are the layers of the rice noodle not separated at all and falling apart when being picked up with chopsticks but between the clumps of what they call Cherng Fun is undercooked rice flour slurry. I cannot speak on behalf of their dinner dishes as their breakfast has more than steered me away from it but I do not see myself going back to Tasty Box any time in the near future.

Yelp
Food: string beans, seafood chow fun, wonton noodle, orange chicken Service: great, timely service Design: interiors is clean with indoor and outdoor table seating Overall: if you want good HK Cantonese food for a good price, then check out this spot; they have both dim sum and other dishes depending on the time

Yelp
Just come for takeout and avoid dining in. Rude and uninviting service. I've been to many HK cafes and Chinese restaurants both in the US and in HK so I am accustomed to the impatient or typical "terrible" service but the service in this restaurant is to the point of personal attacks with controlling and offensive comments. It's a very uncomfortable experience. There is only one high chair in the restaurant so not the most child friendly and definitely don't recommend if you have more than one child in your party. Food overall tastes good and reasonably priced. I recommend their 海鮮豆腐煲 but it is listed under Soup and the English name Seafood with tofu soup may be misleading for non-Chinese speakers. It is not a soup you can just eat on its own. It's a dish you commonly eat with rice and in most other restaurants, it's called Seafood tofu pot or Claypot seafood tofu. I don't recommend ordering their 乾炒牛河 Beef Chow Fun. Too much soy sauce compared to other restaurants.
google avatar

Kristine J.

Yelp
Solid dim sum spot if you want something fairly fast and accommodating. See food pic! It's a small place but service is kind of quick. It's clean too. Food wise, it does taste good. But I've had better dim sum. Things were a bit bland. Fried rice was ok too. At least everything did taste fresh. If you're not wanting to drive an extra 10 mins over to Rowland, this place in DB is a good option instead. Prices are very reasonable!

Yelp
This is the spin-off to Tasty Box. Originally it was strictly dim sum then it added other Cantonese dishes at the bistro. Food tastes good here. The have the fried rice from the original TB that they moved here. Ingredients are fresh.

Yelp
I love this Hong Kong Bistro Dim Sum place. My kids love shrimps dumplings & pork Shiu mai so much. I like to order online and come pick up to save time. Food is very good and delicious. Service was good and fast. Togo packing is pretty neat and clean. Ambiance is simple and clean, lighting is bright. Nice place to grab lunch here with family and friends. They have lots different dim sum dishes and also have rice and noodles.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Terribly slow and subpar service, cold food, and mediocre taste at best. It was such a bad experience because we were being ignored despite being polite and trying to flag down our waiter. They brought something out very quickly after we ordered, but the food was cold, so probably something someone else didn't want anymore or extras that had been sitting on the counter for a long time. We were starving so we ate it. The rest of the food took forever to come out and our drinks made it after we finished eating. What is this?
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Finding a dim sum place (esp a Cantonese one) is getting harder, and finding one that serves dumplings after 1:00 is near impossible. Tasty Box offers dim sum until 5:00 daily and across the parking lot is their Tasty BBQ where you can get their chicken, duck, roast pork. The place is tiny so if you plan on eating there, you may have to eat outside (there's tables outside their restaurant, Starbucks next door, and even tables outside their Tasty BBQ location). It's not the cheapest in town, and I don't know if I'd say its the best dim sum I've had, but it hits the spot, and satisfies my craving.

Yelp
This review is for the Tasty Box HK Bistro (next to Starbuck). We arrived for lunch on a Saturday and got a table at right away (no wait) & ordered: * Pork shrimp siew mai - fresh & tasty * Steamed rice roll w/ char siu - excellent! * Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice dumpling) - okay * Lotus leaf sticky rice - okay * Salty fish minced meat w/ eggplant - super delicious!! Highly recommended! Our food arrived quickly. Service was good & friendly. We walked out happy & satisfied. Will be back for other dishes.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for dinner. We ordered: 1. deep fried pork chop w/honey garlic sauce 2. satay beef soup w/rice noodle 3. seafood w/XO sauce fried rice. All of them were way beyond our expectation, we enjoyed a lot and because we finished them too fast that's the reason I didn't have chance to take pictures lol. For sure will come here again to try some other dishes.

Yelp
Great dim sum. Siu Mai, Har Gow, beef chow mein, onion pancake. All fabulous. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
This is my favorite Dim Sum place! I am from South OC, but I am willing to drive here just to get me some of their delicious grub. The size of their dim sum is huge and everything just taste to delicious. I always stop by for lunch when I am in the area for work! Definitely recommend this place! Only down side is that they won't give me a lot of chili oil...lol. but I get it...I do get carried away with my spice level.

Yelp
i just got dim sum to go at Tasty Box HK Bistro in Diamond Bar. I ordered the shrimp & chive dumpling (3 pcs) and turnip cake (3 pcs). Their dim sum tasted mediocre because I've had better HK dim sum and the chive dumpling skin were a bit too thick and i'm disappointed for the turnip cake because it's not soft at all. Price is good compare to the dim sum restaurant and service was fast. I only paid about $4.99 for the turnip cake and $5.25 for shrimp & chive dumpling plus taxes for to go. I may try their breakfast or other dish such as noodles and combo meal next time though.
google avatar

Yelp
I came back a couple times for their breakfast. The food is solid and what I would like praise a bit more is on their services. It's not often that I can walk it to an Asian restaurant seeing someone in control end to end. Porridge was good. It doesn't have the same MSG feeling from Chan Kee and is a much better recommendation for family. Satay beef instant noodle was not the traditional one from HK which I always crave for but this was solid as well.

Yelp
I recently came back for the first time since they re-opened after undergoing a bit of a transformation. Although they are no longer primarily a dim sum restaurant, they still offer a few select items on their menu, but now they mainly serve traditional Cantonese dishes. We came here to try the HK breakfast and it was honestly just okay. The jook (porridge) was rather bland compared to other places and the soy sauce chow mein was just alright. The milk tea was really strong to the point where we added what felt like endless amounts of condensed milk and it still tasted bitter. The Chinese donut was really oily and the wonton beef stew noodles weren't memorable. On the bright side, the new renovations have paved the way for more indoor seating. If you dine in, they offer free refills, so perhaps next time I'll try a different drink. The service was really attentive and all of the employees were really nice. I still miss the dim sum and wish they could bring back at least more of the dishes they used to sell, but nonetheless, I'm just happy Tasty Box is still around. I continue to be a loyal fan to both the BBQ location across the plaza, as well as to this one. Although I don't think I'll be coming back here for HK breakfast anytime soon, I'll definitely be back for their family meals, which are yummy and such a great value!

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service. My wife ordered HK milk tea, it came just as a plain black tea, without any pre added condensed milk, or carnation milk. My wife asked for carnation milk and they gave 1/3 a small metal cup of carnation milk. When it was not enough, my wife asked for more, the lady (who I assume is in charge, and I believe is called Jean), loudly told my wife. Our milk tea comes pre made, if everyone asks for more milk, we can't run our business. Please take a look at the picture of the milk tea that comes "pre-made" with carnation milk. My wife told her, your tea came as plain. There was no milk inside. She didn't want to believe. She asked her co worker, and her co worker said, yes it comes black, when a customer asks, we will provide. We have been to plenty of HK style restaurants, this I the first time I am learning that HK milk tea has no carnation milk, and only condensed milk. We run a HK style cafe in HK itself for more than 10 years. This is something new to me. Realising she is wrong, she still didn't want to back down. She said that we will have to pay for extra carnation milk. How about we pay $1. And she loudly announced to the whole restaurant, do you want to add $1 for the carnation milk? Like, seriously. What terrible service, and attitude. You are in the wrong, and now you want to say it's our fault? If that is the case, make all your tea pre made, and set the rules that if we ask for extra, we have to pay. Jean previously called us and asked if we're going to order the CNY dinner set, which we wanted to order after having our meal. But after today's episode, forget it. In addition, I am not going to personally never set foot into this restaurant again, and I will also let all my friends know to avoid this place.

Yelp
Great local spot. Fast food place with dim sum option. The service was nothing more nothing less.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
It's good, but I think I still prefer New Capital and Happy Harbor. We ordered tons of different dishes to try, but the stand-out dish has to be the baked char siu bao. Golden fluffy buns with flavorful pork filling. The selection is solid, but it's definitely on the pricier side. If you use cash, you get 5% off!
google avatar

Kal A.

Yelp
Best dim sum in the area. And pricing is sooooo good!! Taste like homemade cooking!!! And the owner is so funny and personable! You can tell that she and the staff love what they do... it translates into the food
google avatar

Yelp
UPDATED November 2023 Shame on me for not updating my review because this place still rocks! They brought back more dim sum dishes and the service is still friendly & attentive! Was sad after they changed the menu and took out some of my kids favorite dishes but now they brought it back and yep it is better than the rest of other place in the area with better quality you can taste!
google avatar

Yelp
Living in San Diego and growing up in Walnut, I have had some very authentic dim sum. I miss being able to enjoy good dim sum close to where I live and this place combines the good comfort food and convenience aspects I grew up with. I have been here twice and enjoyed the food both times. This is more grab & go but if you can find seating inside, it is also a good experience to enjoy brunch with friends/family. The waiters/waitresses do speak English if you don't speak Mandarin/Cantonese. They don't have the traditional hot teas you get at bigger dim sum restaurants but they do have Hong Kong milk teas and coffee, yum! My go to is their HK coffee milk tea. The prices per dish are comparable to most dim sum places; we spent ~$100 for 5 adults and each of us ordered a drink. We left feeling very full! *This was my first time ordering their french toast and it's made with a fried crispy exterior. Not too sweet but I wish it was crispier.* I recommend this place if you're wanting a quick bite at a more casual setting!
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE WITH A NUT ALLERGY. Before ordering the staff was informed of a SEVERE nut allergy. We were told NO nuts or nut oils are used. My son has a severe allergy. Unfortunately they are liars!! He had a reaction. HK take FOOD ALLERGIES more SERIOUSLY or you may end up with a law suit. ANAPHYLAXIS IS REAL!!!
google avatar

Charlene C.

Yelp
I saw this place while shopping at H-Mart but we were too early and they weren't open yet. We eventually made it back in the area and while my husband went grocery shopping, I came here to put in my order. I love dim sum but we don't have any good dim sum places where we live. There's some menus outside with pencils and you just mark off what you want then pay. There was a small discount if you paid cash and luckily I had some on me! I had to wait about 10 minutes for my order and they brought it out to me. I picked out some of the classics dim sum items that I love (bbq pork steamed buns, siu mai, cheong fun...) and added an order of red bean sesame balls. We went to a nearby park to eat an early lunch. Everything was really good. Not the best I've had but it definitely hit the spot.
google avatar

Eva L.

Yelp
If you're craving for some dim sum to-go, then I recommend checking this place out. It's in the same shopping plaza as Super H-Mart and the ordering process is very simple (they have a small menu form for you to fill out). We came around a weekend afternoon, our wait was probably no more than 20 minutes. Some of the things we ordered: siu mai, har gow, shrimp & minced beef rice noodle rolls, pork spareribs, beef tripe stew, phoenix claw (feng zhau). My favorites were probably the siu mai, both rice noodle rolls, and beef tripe stew. I mean, you can't go wrong with anything from their menu. Prices are reasonable (even with inflation). Credit cards are accepted and there's plenty of parking.
google avatar

Kevin N.

Yelp
This place can get confusing. There are actually two locations in the same parking lot. One by Starbucks and the other on the opposite end towards the food court area. Both locations have good service and the owners are very nice. The one by Starbucks recently had a renovation with menu upgrades. They no longer just sell dim sum, but also other Chinese food items, such as fried rice, chow mien, and seafood tofu stir fried. The other location sell the BBQ stuff such as roast pork, roast duck, wonton noodles, and char sui. They have one of the better quality roast duck, char sui, and wonton noodle among the whole surrounding area. Wish they would open one closer to Ontario/Eastvale area.

Elaine Q.

Yelp
DISCRIMINATION!!!! The service is so bad and they hate people WHO SPEAKS MANDARIN! They thought they are lived in Hong Kong, and the server asked if you were from China mainland and refused to serve you and ask you to leave for no reason! Now America is fighting for equality and I can't believe I am experiencing bullying and disrespect at this place!
google avatar

Francine L.

Yelp
Tasty Box has opened a dim sum spot in Diamond Bar and is literally in the same plaza area as their original Tasty Box Bbq where you can get authentic Hong Kong-style duck and much more. Now to the dim sum this place is a fast-casual spot where you can order through your phone or go inside and order. The place is small so I just took it outside and are it on the outside benches. I have taken this also back home to eat as well. The food items are very similar to any dim sum spot. They have chicken feet (my favorite), shrimp haw gao, radish cake, lotus leaf, and other items! It does take about 15-20 minutes to get your order but it is pretty bomb. If you are ordering it for taking out you should let them know if you need utensils and sauces. A great brunch place when you are craving an Asian breakfast.
google avatar

Serena N.

Yelp
I love the original tasty box that focused on the char siu and bbq across the plaza, so I decided to try out their dim sum franchise. We waited for 30 minutes for our order of 11 items. This isn't an authentic dim sum. For a proper dim sum place, the food should be ready in less than 10 minutes. The taste of the dishes was either plain or too salty to enjoy. The most disappointing thing was the salted egg bun. They probably packed this first while waiting for other items to be cooked. Showed that the kitchen doesn't have good time management and couldn't handle the orders probably due to short staff. I probably won't be coming here again for a while.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
I was initially sad that their dim sum shop was gone, but replacing it with a Hong Kong style bistro is just what this area needs. They still have some dim sum options on their menu, so not all is lost! Came to try their breakfast menu and it was relatively fine. Ordered the beef congee, soy sauce chow mein, and cheurng fun. Congee is not as thick in texture as other places, but tasted good. Their chow mein is also not as dry. I think they might have over steamed the cheurng fun because it was super soft and too wet to pick up - flavor was good. Milk tea was great and they give refills while you're there. Service was excellent - everybody was attentive, but not overly in your space. There were about 5 takeout orders during the time I was there, so it seems like a good option to pick up breakfast. I'll be back to try their regular menu and the family meal options!
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
They have a small selection of dim sum which I wanted because I was in Diamond Bar and craving dim sum. Overall they have the basics nothing too major. Everything tasted pretty good except the black sesame came in a bun not fried ball. Everything is served in a brown cartion which is why it's called tasty box. The ambiance is nice. I'm actually giving them 3.5 stars!
google avatar

Yelp
We drove 3 hours to get here and it was well worth it. Great food and fantastic service. They also cater so their food is a big hit at our family gatherings.

Yelp
Small little shop tucked away in a plaza with several other businesses. They offer a 5% discount if you pay with cash. Har gow: Fresh shrimp inside! The dumplings were pretty large and plump, and the skin was soft too. Definitely a must try! Turnip cake: A bit dry and oily, but the turnip flavor was good. Chinese donut in rice noodle roll: I was surprised with how big this order was. The donut was a bit hard, but it was still delicious with the sauce! Sesame ball with red bean: They were large and airy. I loved the initial crunch that was quickly hit with the sweetness of the red bean. Deep fried pork dumpling: crunchy and savory! A bit oily, but it was deep fried, so I expected it. There was a good amount of delicious pork inside. Overall, all of the food was pretty good, especially for to-go dimsum. It was convenient to order, and we only waited 10 minutes for the food (we didn't call ahead). The service was very friendly and nice too. Price-wise, not the cheapest, but dim sum isn't really a "cheap" breakfast in general.
google avatar

Yelp
Great value snd customer service on the day we went. Noodles were good, sweeter than expected, char siu bao is just okay. Shrimp egg rolls just okay. Still need to try other items. Its nice to have this option in this area as there isnt much dim sum to choose from anywhere in the 949 or 909
google avatar

Marie W.

Yelp
I would go here for a quick Dim-Sum-crave. It's a small place but clean. I think they are busier with to-go orders. Staffs were nice and accommodating. We ordered some pork and shrimp siomai, shrimp and chive Dumplings and pork bun. This place is great for a quick bite and not bad for pricing. I found out there's another Tasty Box across this place. I think they're sister company. Whichever location you go, I am sure they have the same good quality of food. Delicious!

Yelp
This place has been my family's go-to dim sum takeout for the past year. There are both Chinese and English paper menus on clipboards located outside the restaurant. You mark your order on the paper before taking it to the cashier. Very clean interior with plastic dividers between customer and the cashier. Hand sanitizer is also provided! Feels very safe during Covid times. There is a 5% discount with cash payment! The place was pretty busy during lunch on the weekend. Orders took about 20-25 minutes. I've only gotten takeout, but you can also eat inside. There are tables both inside and outside the restaurant with huge windows that completely open up. The waiters will call out your number when the entire order is ready, regardless if you dine in or not. This isn't the typical cart service type of dim sum. Shrimp and chive dumplings are my favorite! I forgot to take a picture of two orders of the shrimp egg rolls, but including that, below is about $65 worth of items.

Yelp
Food is 5 stars, service is a bit short and abrupt, but it's to be expected culturally. Worth it for the quality of food and fast service! So far we've tried dim sum, protein with seasonal vegetables, chow fun, and Mongolian beef and all has been 10/10! Definitely try the chilli oil. It's my favorite!

Yelp
If you are looking for good HK food, this is the spot. Though my review is mainly for the exceptional customer service. Jean was our server both times we visited. She was always very friendly, attentive, accommodating, and happy to give recommendations. When I asked for a takeout box, she even offered to help me pack it.

Yelp
There is a restaurant store called tasty box and this is their separate dimsum joint. A friend recommended it so picked up some for the whole family. They have a decent selection for a take out spot. Almost al the classics. There are a few tables available too. Their baked bbq pork bun is interesting. We thought it was a sweet bun at first because it has a sugary crust on top. I kind of liked it but it may not be for everyone. I do prefer the OG sticky bbq pork buns. Their garlic egg rolls are bomb. Never had a garlic version before. The custard bun was really good. Lava-y type. Har how and shumai is what you expect. Can't complain. Rice rolls are alright as well. Overall it is a little on the pricey side but order was quick despite how much we ordered and we didn't even order ahead either. Nice to know there's a decent dimsum joint in this area!

Yelp
Good dim sum in the area. Quick and fast service. Selection of dim sum is limited however having the basics popular dishes are better in my opinion cuz I won't be overwhelmed and try to order 1 of each. All were delicious Sui Mai, Har Gow, steamed bbq pork buns, chicken sticky rice are just a few that we ordered.

Yelp
Great spot for some quick casual dim sum. Everything was hot and tasty. The only thing I didn't like was the radish cakes.. kinda bland imo. Everything else was tasty. Friendly service, super quick service.

Yelp
Our go to place for dim sum to go. Easy to order and pay online, ready in about 40-50 minutes. As the name implies, the food is tasty here. You can't go wrong with anything here. Just order your favorites and you'll be a happy camper.

Yelp
What a life I live where I no longer have to trek to Westminster or the SGV to get some good dim sum. Thank you Tasty Box Dim Sum for making this dream a reality. Tasty Box Dim Sum is killing it. To order, there are mini clipboards on a table outside - there's an English AND Chinese menu. You mark your selections, and if you're unfamiliar with any of the dishes, there's a visual menu located right behind the cash registers. This is genius! It makes it less intimidating for anyone not super familiar with dim sum. We placed an order to go: -pork shrimp & roe (siu mai) -spareribs in black bean sauce -beancurd skin with pork & shrimp -baked BBQ pork bun -deep fried pork dumpling -shrimp dumpling (har gow): $4.75 -crunchy shrimp egg roll: $4.75 -minced beef rice noodle roll: $4.75 Everything was made from good quality ingredients. I loved that they have my two favorite dishes on the menu: beancurd skin with pork & shrimp + deep fried pork dumplings. Both were very good renditions. The siu mai was notably meaty with a good portion of roe on top. What I really appreciate about Tasty Box Dim Sum is their attention to detail. The windows in the restaurant are retractable so there's fresh air circulation for those who are COVID weary. They provide little containers to use as plates when eating. And the service is great - everyone was super friendly and attentive. The best part? Dishes are under $5 with most priced at $4.25 - what a steal! I highly suggest checking this place out if you're hankering for some dim sum.
