Where to Eat and Drink in Smyrna and Vinings

"Devoted followers of chef Peter Chang need absolutely no introduction to this beloved Chinese restaurant. For many Atlantans, this is where they first fell in love with Sichuan food. Head here for classic hot and numbing Sichuan dishes, including dan dan noodles, cumin lamb, and braised fish in chili oil. Don’t skip the dried fried eggplant. And make sure to order a round or two of dumplings. Those looking for Peking duck with all the traditional fixings will find it here, too, in both half and whole portions." - Lia Picard

14 Chinese Restaurants Around Atlanta Serving Delectable Roast Duck Feasts

"While most head into Tasty China for the fiery Sichuan dishes, do try the Peking duck. It comes with all the traditional fixings and can be served in half and whole portions. The duck is also listed on the menu at the Sandy Springs location." - Eater Staff

First off I want to say that it would be 5 stars but I want to explain way it's not. My partner and I have been here a couple times and service has always been a little slow. I know that Covid messed alot of places up and that it's still a recovery time and that the current people that work there are doing their best. This last time we went it was sub par as far as food. My partner got the Cumin Duck which was amazing and good, plenty of duck and worth the price we paid for it. But when it came to their Deep Fried Duck on which I ordered half of the plate was Bones on which I couldn't eat I barely got any duck. I've had other great meals here before but if any one follows my reviews consistency is something I hold high on how I review a restaurant and Tasty China has been struggling with this the last couple times we've been here. Is it good Chinese food yes, is it consistent that's a hit and miss sometimes. Would I suggest you check them out? Yes but go in with an open mind.

Delicious takeout! Everything was fresh, care was taken in the packaging, & the portions were perfect for family-style dining! If you’re unfamiliar with some if the dishes & sensitive to spice, make sure you adjust accordingly as some of the dishes are crazy spicy (in a good way if your into it). The fried dried eggplant is always a pleaser. Also loved the cumin lamb (super spicy), basil chicken, salt & pepper shrimp, bubble pancake, & dried fried green beans. So glad they opened this location, we prefer it to the other Marietta spot.

UPDATE NOV 2021: Sadly, I'm reducing my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. The last few orders have had dishes that are so overly saturated with SALT that we took one bite and threw them away. Tastes like the chef dropped the whole salt shaker into the dish. This is no longer a one-off mistake. Excellent Szechuan and American Chinese. The American Chinese always has too much sauce so ask for light sauce. Delicious and incredible food! Try the dry fried eggplant appetizer. It's amazing. The cumin lamb is fantastic. Bamboo fish is great. Chicken with Three Types of Mushrooms is some of the best comfort food you'll ever eat. The Szechuan burgers are the only thing that I do not recommend.

I am not sure what happened… This place used to be a lot better. Let’s talk about food first… They don’t have scallion pancakes…which I should take that a a hint.. My daughter loves xiao long bao… and It came up 6 pieces and all six piece looks so different from each other… One of the is way over cook and it all flat and soggy while the middle one is so doughy and uncook…not to mention it has a weird smell to it Cabbage is just ok, but fried noodle is way too salty…actually… everything is over seasoning After that… Toilet stuck and faucet is completely broken… Sorry… won’t go back anymore

Our lunch time got messed up so we decided to do a little searching on google and voila! Tasty China (Smyrna) was the lucky destination. We arrived, placed out to-go orders, and hit the road afterwards. I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised but how spicy and delicious the food is. I will suggest you ask them about the Scoville scale or simply how spicy 🌶 a menu May be. Oh, I ordered T20 from the menu by the way.

We were in the mood for Asian food. I did a search and we decided to give this new place try. Very diverse menu. Lots of spicy meals. We had spring rolls for appetizers. He ordered the three mushrooms and chicken dish. I enjoyed the orange chicken. Sweet with a little tang. Beautiful interior. Nice wine and beer bar. Friendly staff. Clean sitting area.

Food was great. The service was good. They took precautions by having mask on while greeting and waiting us. I had been to their other location at Ponce prior. This location was just as good and closer to my home. The pork belly and potatoes had a bit too many chili pepper for my wife's liking. It was good for me. The side fried rice was flavorful. The chicken lo mein was a huge hit with the kids. We also tried some spicy soup with fish, shrimp and beef. I forgot the name of the dish. It's really spicy. I would have them do a little less spice next time. Hands down, the best Chinese I've had in Atlanta.

Great place, authentic Sichuan food with the Chilis and numbing peppers. We ordered the tofu skin, fried eggplant, ma po tofu and fish & tofu. Sometimes they make the food extremely salty, like spit-it-out salty, so it is worth it to mention when you order, don't make it salty.
