These are some tasty dumplings for sure! No frills, fresh, homemade (including the cleverly color-coded skins!), cooked to order, and priced right. The perfect place to go when you want a mess of plump dumplings and full satisfaction. When we went, there was only 1 person working, counter service - he was hustling, but it's a lot of work for 1 person to take orders, steam, fry and serve, so be aware & be patient. It's worth it!

No matter my hunger level, I will always make room for a dumpling or two. This was my first time checking out this restaurant. I ordered the pork soup dumplings, Kimichi dumplings and the pork Napa cabbage dumplings. The simplicity of the ingredients combined with the spicy homemade dipping sauce, was definitely something yummy in my tummy. This establishment will be on my rotation list from now on

Hole in the wall clean restaurant with tasty dumplings. Everything was fresh and made to order. Dumplings melt in your mouth with savory flavors. Would recommend: lemongrass chicken, mixed veggies, and fried pork buns.

I thought this place was gonna be very mediocre but to my surprise it was pretty descent. I got the beef black pepper dumplings and I had the option to have them steamed or pan fried and went with the pan fried. Was impressed that there was soup inside the dumpling. The spicy sauce was also quite good.

Order at the counter. Tables available. Dumplings are 12 for $14.50. They are good sized and very good. I got pan fried also available steamed. I got bbq beef, pork with Napa cabbage,Lemongrass chicken and Kimchi.

If you know me, which you don’t. I am kinda sad because first of all you don’t know me and you should. Secondly just because you don’t know me, you also don’t know I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEE DUMPLINGS!!! Okay I need to calm down and tell you about this place. Saw this place passing by Falls Church and wanted to try this so took a friend out here. Upon entering it is a pretty simple place. More geared towards take out but you can definitely sit there and eat. The whole place is run by a couple. If you don’t know what a couple is it is 2 people who are in a romantic relationship. Yes just 2 people. The whole place is clean and I would love to come here work from here and eat dumplings all day. Okay back to the review. I ordered 4 different types of dumplings and my LORD!!! I am in love with this place. Pan Fried Shrimp Dumplings were amazing. Recommend eating them after a little wait because they were scorching hot. The crust on them was perfect. The shrimp inside was beautiful. Pan Fried Tofu Dumplings. They were really great. Similar crust to the ones above. Steamed Beef and Jalapeno Dumplings were of a different color. Loved the jalapeños flavoring mixed with beef. Steam Lemon Grass Chicken Dumplings were the best and the flavor was insane. Hands down ordering this and Basil Chicken Dumplings the next time. This place is so simple and nice and the food is great that I love it. 5/5 Show this place some love!

Ordered one of each flavor. All the pork and chicken flavors were our favorite. Especially the pork and shrimp dumpling. Ratio of wrapper to filling was perfect, although the mixed veggie dumplings were a bit scant. Over all, very tasty!

Bruh. There's gotta be crack in that soup dumpling sauce mixed with addiction. Returned to let my friend try soup dumplings for the first time. He is definitely happy with the visit. Goji berry tea was refreshing, I think I would like to try the hot version next.

My husband and I were HANGRY. I found this place really close by to where we were and we immediately headed over there. The parking lot is a bit of a cluster, but you'll get a spot. We walked in and checked out the menu. They have a good amount of options. We ended up getting the pan fried beef baos, the pan fried pork baos, the pork soup dumplings, and a dozen pan fried mixed dumplings (beef, pepper beef, pork either Napa cabbage, and another pork flavor). I love that you're able to fet a mixture of dumplings for the dozen for 14.95. What an absolute steal. We also got the green onion pancakes. The man cooking the dumplings was so kind. Shout out to the younger cashier who spoke both mandarin and English fluently - something my parents dream of for me and my siblings, whoops. They told us it would take about 15 minutes and was ready in that time. It took us about 20 minutes to get home and dig in. The beef pan fried baos were DELICIOUS. Our absolute favorites. I feel like everytime we order pan fried baos like these, they're never juicy or have soup in them. These did. They were flavorful and literally had so much juice/soup we had to eat them carefully. The pork baos were good, but i feel like the beef flavor was a bit better. The soup dumplings were also really good! Good amount of soup. The mixed pan fried dumplings were also delicious. I liked that they're different colors so you can tell which one is which. They also came with chili oil and soy sauce - i loved that they though of everything! The dumplings wrappers are a little thick and you can tell are homemade. I loved that, it made me feel like I was eating at home. It was comforting and delicious. We would absolutely come back. My parents and sister really enjoyed them and were surprised how flavorful they were. The pan fried beef baos were the star of the show!

I'm not a purist--on the contrary, I believe authenticity can sometimes stifle creativity. I also hesitate to leave negative reviews for small businesses because food preference is deeply personal and subjective. That said, I personally wouldn't return to this place if I were craving soup dumplings. For me, an ideal soup dumpling should be easy to pick up without breaking, have a good balance of soup and filling, and burst with umami when eaten. Soup dumplings are special because they combine delicate, tender filling with a burst of flavorful broth. The rich soup inside enhances the umami, making the eating experience incredibly satisfying. The dumplings I was served: 1. Easy to pick up without breaking - Pass. 2. A good balance of soup and filling - Pass. Each dumpling had a good amount of broth. 3. Burst with umami when eaten - Fail. Unfortunately, I found the filling mushy and lacking in flavor, which really took away from the overall experience. 4. Dipping sauce - Fail. Instead of the traditional rice vinegar with ginger threads, the sauce was something different. I completely understand that the sharp acidity of traditional Chinese vinegar might not appeal to Western palates. However, when done right, soup dumplings have a rich, flavorful filling that needs that strong acidic contrast to balance the taste. The restaurant is clean. Dumplings are cooked to order from frozen. Staff were courteous.

I got a wide variety mix of the different kinds of veggie and chicken dumplings! They were also good. I think my favorite was a chicken dumplings. The sauce they have with it also was really good.! The service was really fast when I came in they had it ready as I ordered in advance. It is near my home and Conveient. It was a fast casual type of place. I like the dumplings, but I was not a big fan of the cold noodles. If I come back here, I'll be going for the dumplings, not the cold noodles.!

I really only had the pork soup dumplings to go and they were really delicious ! Staff is helpful and friendly and inside is decorated very cutely. Good place for families ! I would return they're well priced, delicious and you have the option to go with regular or spicy sauce !

I loved those chicken dumplings! I can't wait to go back and get more. You get 12 for $15.00 that's a good steal. They had so much flavor and they were even good once I got home and warmed them up for later. The service was amazing too. It was a lady that took my order and she got it done. So sweet! This place was very clean and they have won an award. I love that you can leave little sticky notes.

Love the soup dumplings and scallion pancakes! Call ahead and order for takeout- it's ready within 15 minutes or so (and more affordable than ordering online).

Best Dumplings in DMV area Fresh made, tastes good. I have tried a lot dumpling restaurants in DMV, this is the best one. Highly recommend.

I have been a regular in this place for months, I love dumplings in general and this place is legit. However the last two times we have ordered here we have received burnt dumplings - first time it happened I let go, maybe they were having a bad day. The second time was what prompted me to write this review/ warning sign: please review your processes because I miss how good (and not burnt!) your dumplings used to be. For now, I guess it's time for me to look for another place serving dumplings in the area

It's always fun to share dumplings on a chilly day (or a warm one, actually.)  It's great to enjoy all these little bites of flavor.  We just happen to see Tasty Dumplings around lunch time and decided to stop in.  We ordered three different kinds from the dumpling assortment.  You could tell the different ones apart by the color of the dumpling wrapper.  We sampled the lemon grass chicken, BBQ beef and the kimchi varieties.  All were a good size, tender and tasty.  We also liked the pork soup dumpling.  We only wished they had come with a spoon, because, if you have ever had soup dumplings, you know that they are very hot inside and full of soup.  If you don't have a spoon to catch the liquid that may pour out, you can make a mess.  We ended up using the big bowls which was a little awkward.  The pan fried bao buns were good but probably our least favorite as the dough was a little thicker.  There is seating inside and a really nice seating area outside.  The restaurant is quick serve so you order at the counter and then find a table.  There is plenty of parking in the big lot out front.

10 out of 10 dumplings with all flavors. In a nearby store and we wanted to grab something quick. My husband isn't big on smaller meals but I'm so glad we stopped here. We ordered the kimchi, beef, and two types of chicken. My absolute fav was mixing the kimchi with the chicken dumplings; the perfect blend! Perfectly chewy but also sauce plus we had plain, orange, and green dumpling casings to mix it up. Quick and good customer service.

What a great little dumpling shop! Food was excellent, only took about 5 minutes to be prepared, and so authentic. Just felt like I was in the kitchen of this family's home and they were cooking up their family recipe dumplings. I got the bbq beef and the lemongrass chicken this last time, and the spicy soy dipping sauce was so good!

This place was fantastic! It's situated in the middle of the shopping center with plenty of parking. I went mid-day on a Monday and ordered the 12 piece dumpling pan fried. Since I had never been before I tried one of each from the left side of the menu (see picture for descriptions) Some of the dumplings had an interesting flavor, but I liked that they had such a good variety. My favorite was the pork with lotus roots and the beef with jalapeño. The restaurant itself was clean and had plenty of seating. I'm extremely interested in returning to find out what the dessert dumpling is all about.

Review of veggie and shrimp dumplings-- kimchi dumplings are my fave. Even good cold the next day. Wasn't as much of a fan of the regular veggie ones, but they're OK shrimp dumplings are solid.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Tasty Dumpling!! My friend and I stumbled across this lovely small business a short time after it opened and have watched this amazing woman get her own small business off the ground. You can mix and match a wide variety of dumplings and she cooks everything herself while you wait. The dumplings are great to eat on the spot OR TAKEOUT- they travel well and we always try to get enough for leftovers. Highly recommend Tasty Dumpling! Easy parking; indoor and outdoor seating; very casual. Family friendly and kids encouraged!

Amazing little dumpling joint with a great menu of options designed to please different palates. In addition, you have the choice of getting them steamed or fried. I tried several, but seemed to like the Lemongrass Chicken the best. And their two different dipping sauces were great complements as well ... especially the one with a little kick! Looking forward to return.

Very tasty indeed!! I always drove passed this spot and bookmarked it to come one day. Finally last night we decided to do takeout and ordered dumplings! We ordered the soup dumplings, pan fried baos, and the pork and cabbage dumplings. Everything was very delicious! My personal favorite were the soup dumplings. I love how it bursts in your mouth - the broth is very good! We ordered take out, but might decide to dine in next time. If we thought take out was good, I'm sure eating there when it's fresh is even better! It's a no frills spot, don't expect to Instagram or anything - but also means they put more effort into their food which I appreciate. Check them out!

Took my boys for a quick lunch. Cute little place and the staff was very friendly. We tried a beef bbq dumpling, pork and shrimp Chive dumpling, chicken lemongrass and chicken teriyaki dumpling. They were all good but our favorites were the pork and beef. We had the beef pan fried and that was yummy. We got the rest steamed to try to be a little healthier. Ha! We all enjoyed the spicy sauce as well. We will be back to sit outside in the cute courtyard there once it cools down a little.

Dropped in during the lunch hour. Someone was able to take our order right away and let us know that it would take about 15 minutes to prepare. The drink of Jujube Goji Berry Tea came out first. It was good but the straw wasn't very wide so sometimes the goji berry would get stuck. I know not everyone likes to eat Chinese medicine type ingredients but I was happy to use a spoon to scoop them up. Our orders of pork soup dumpling and pan fried bao came out within the promised amount of time. I was pleasantly surprised that there was even soup in the pan fried bao, was not expecting that. Looking forward to coming back to try the other types of dumplings some other time!

My friends and I came here on a Friday for dinner and got a variety of dumplings to try. We got 24 dumplings and an order of the soup dumplings. Everything was delicious, juicy and flavorful. Theres a mix of traditional dumpling fillings and non-traditional fillings like teriyaki chicken, lemon grass chicken and barbecue beef. With such a variety of fillings I feel like theres something for everyone. Would recommend anyone to try!

Can't bc in search of shen jian baos to learn they are not pan friend SOUP dumpling but just regular pork fried baos. Nonetheless, still delicious and for it not being a soup dumpling, they were still juicy and yummy. The lady behind the counter was so nice and everything is made fresh to order. I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

Ran to Staples and picked up soup dumplings for lunch. They are made fresh, took 15 minutes. The soup wasn't very flavorful. They were good but I'd try other options next time.

The lotus root dumplings were so flavorful and had a great texture!! I liked the dumpling wrapper- it was chewy and complimented the filling well. There are a few tables inside for seating and tables outside the restaurant available as well. The soup dumplings were good, but not the best in the DMV area. I would highly recommend the pan fried buns and the dumplings!

Mamahuhu at best. This is not Ding Tai Fung, or anything like that. We got a bunch of different things; don't get the mix of different dumplings. This place has authentic soup dumplings, but everything else is just uninspiring. There's also some stuff that tastes like fusion Chinese/Korean, but I'm not a fan.

If you don't have a lot of experience with dumplings maybe this will do it for you, but this did absolutely. nothing to satisfy my dumpling cravings. I was so excited when I read the reviews and went out of my way to get here, but ended up at McDonald's (true story). It started with a Grumpy unhelpful staffer who was running the whole place alone. Included a very log wait time. They seemed to prioritize the takeout orders. And all that would have been doable if the food had been delicious but sadly it wasn't. And the food was bland and doughy. Bad dough to filling ratios, not delicate dough, and just missed the mark on flavor. If I had to rate the dishes in order of flavor even though they all came short it would be: 1 -pork soup dumpling 2 - beef pepper dumpling 3 - panfried beef bao .

I got the pan fried baos. It totally satisfied my craving. Pretty good for the area! I love the chili oil they give you with it. Careful of your surroundings when biting into them!

Very calm place in the Falls Church shopping center. Came here on a lunch break with a few coworkers just because we were feeling something light. Dumplings come in orders of 12 which is the perfect amount for someone to be satisfied off of. Additionally, dumplings are made fresh and are given the choice of steamed or pan fried. Overall, just an easy dining experience. Check this place out!

A totally okay dumping place. The soup dumplings are worth skipping because they are better at Trader Joe's. But it is cool that they let you mix and match their dumplings for your order.

Expensive but wow so delicious. Good for vegans and carnivores alike. My favorites are kale and kimchi. My meat eaters like pork and chives and beef bbq best.

Definitely a place to try out! I got the beef black pepper and pork/shrimp dumplings and they did not disappoint. Large portion left me full after 12. You can combine 6 of different flavors when you order which i would definitely recommend doing. Give Tasty Dumpling a shot if you like dumplings or are looking to try something different.

This place is awesome. My wife and I were craving some dumplings. This place fit the bill. The staff make their dumplings fresh per order. The seating area is small, but it is clean and well kept. It's in a great spot with great parking. If you love dumplings like my wife and I do this place is for you.

Very clean restaurant. Decor slightly lacking but very bright and honestly, what more can you ask for in a place that is more geared towards take out and primarily serves dumplings. Great variety of dumplings for fair price. The owner is very nice and came out super fresh. I love the fact that you can choose whether you get it steamed or pan fried.

Cute dumpling shop and definitely a hidden gem. There is an assortment of dumplings ranging from chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian and you can choose pan fried or steamed (with the exception of the soup dumplings). It was SO hard to choose but we ultimately decided to go with the lemongrass chicken dumplings (steamed) and the pan fried beef bao. The beef bao (beef, noodles, ginger and onion) were huge and juicy and flavorful upon each bite! This is a MUST ORDER. The lemongrass chicken (chicken, lemongrass, green onion, ginger and cabbage) was also delish. Ended up ordering some pork soup dumplings and beef with black pepper (pan fried) to go. They carried pretty well in their takeout boxes during the 30-minute drive. The pork soup dumplings had a nice outside gummy texture and the beef with black pepper had the perfect crisp and seasoned well. They provide a spicy and non-spicy dumpling sauce but it wasn't as I had expected. They were a little bit watery in my opinion and the spicy didn't taste spicy at all. I was happy to be home and was able to douse them with chili oil instead. The woman behind the counter was soooo sweet and lovely. She had a comforting warmth exuding from her, just like how the dining room felt. I'm already planning a second visit - no need to drive out to Rockville for some TASTY dumplings!

Our favorite place for dumplings, we will drive 30 minutes to eat here! Good selection though they no longer have my favorite of kale. Bring that back and would be 5 stars!

I bought my kids here to try their dumplings and they were a big disappointment. We ordered a good variety of different dumplings and they were all very blend and mediocre at best. They just lack the flavor to make me want to come back here again. I recommend go some where else if you want dumplings.

Kimchi dumplings were excellent and the same with tofu dumplings. The store always has our order ready quickly and accurately. Great plant-based options, too! Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating - the outdoor area is nice!

Fast. Delicious. Got the chicken veggie and they were hot and perfect! Service was fast about 10 minutes wait. Charming wall of dumpling art on the wall. We will be back.

The hubs and I came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +Pork with Napa Cabbage dumplings - filled with pork, napa cabbage, green onions, and ginger +Kimchi Dumplings - filled with kimchi, black mushrooms, clear noodles, ginger, and green onions +Beef with Black Pepper dumplings - filled with beef, black pepper, onions, ginger, mushrooms, and Chinese celery +Pork Soup Dumplings - filled with pork, ginger, green onions, and sesame oil The dumplings all were okay; I think some of them were a little overcooked, because the skin was a bit gummy. The soup dumplings were definitely on the juicier end. I liked that you could mix-and-match, rather than feeling forced to order each type of filling separately. Staff were super friendly, and the place was bright and cheery, kind of set up as a cafe style; you order up at the cashier, and your orders are brought out. My favorite dumplings in the northern VA area. I always get the lemon grass chicken and black milk tea. The dumplings are always super juicy and fresh! Their pan fried beef dumplings are also great, and I LOVE their spicy chili oil sauce. I'm confused at the bad reviews because I've never had bad service here after coming for about a month. The man at the register is always very nice and I never waited past 15 minutes, maybe because I usually go for lunch during the week. But even then, there's other people and it's a peaceful atmosphere. Will be coming back as long as I'm in the area!!!!!!

Takes a long time to make. Out comes extremely food that burns your mouth. No matter how long you wait for it to cool. Everything squirts out hot liquid and causes a mess of liquid on you and your clothes. It also burns your hands. Very messy. Overpriced drinks as well. These aren't even the soup dumplings and they're so full of liquid I can't imagine what a nightmare those would be compared to these.

Best soup dumplings in the area-- in my family's opinion. We take them to go and love them.

I came in around Chinese New Years because I had to tell my parents I ate dumplings somewhere otherwise they would disown me. Overall, I was glad I chose this place. I ordered the pork and chives, beef and the pan fried dumplings. You can't deny the quality here. These were incredibly thin dumplings (see through) which are the best for me. Each one also had super delicious broth inside so eat with caution. I also liked how you can get your own sauce. I was impressed that they also had a container of just black vinegar which is one of my favorite condiments. The pan fried dumplings were simply amazing. My only real complaint is the price. At more than a dollar per dumpling, this isn't a place I would frequent to be quite honest. But to be even more honest, I'll be back the next time i'm too lazy to make my own dumplings again.

This is more of a takeout place - arrived close to closing time one night and the owner graciously let us sit and eat from our takeout boxes while she cleaned up. 3 of us ordered 4 sets of dumplings - lemongrass chicken, pork/shrimp/chive, beef and black pepper (mix of fried/steamed) and the pork soup dumplings. The pork soup dumplings were just OK compared to other restaurants, and I personally wouldn't get these as takeout anywhere because they should be eaten fresh while the soup is still hot. I enjoyed the lemongrass chicken and beef/black pepper flavors, especially fried. The dumplings are on the pricier side but I would recommend this place if you're in the area.

Came here with my daughter and loved that we had the whole entire restaurant to ourselves, very calm environment. The bbq beef dumplings were definitely our favorite but over all everything was perfect to us..The lady behind the front desk was very kind and our meal was served to us pretty quick. We will definitely be coming back for more dumplings!
