I travelled from West London to this restaurant (Tasty House, SE5 8RX) for their food. Having relocated to West London, I actually hadn't ordered from this restaurant in probably over 10 years.
So, was my return, and my trip there and back worth it? Absolutely! 100%! More than. Here are some things I noticed:
- The woman at the till was funny and friendly! She also suggested I don't get prawn balls and sauce due to my long journey back home, worrying about potentially soggy food. She recommended I get some ribs instead. This shows they care about the customer experience and not just the sale 🏆
- The place was spotless 👌
- Whilst waiting for my large order, I noticed that other customers seemed to have a rapport with the woman at the front of house/ the shop (including one phone call order I heard). Coinciding with my points about friendliness and customer experience 👍
- My order was large but I did not feel that I waited too long. The timing seemed just right. Good things come to those who wait.
- "Quality is our first consideration"-- that's their slogan. And I agree. I was perfectly happy with each item on my order. But I noticed that all the food went into foil containers, not plastic. I am used to plastic containers when I order Chinese, but something tells me that the foil ones cost them more. Either way, it suggests higher quality and care for your food order as opposed to plastic containers, and it's definitely better for the environment.
Overall, I was definitely pleased - it genuinely made my day. It's just unfortunate I won't be able to be as regular of a customer due to the distance. But Tasty House, you get 5 stars from me!
PS: The portions of rice/ noodles might be larger than they appear! And that's a good thing, but I'm still cracking through all this food from my £80 order, even with some help of friends... 🤣
