I heard rave reviews about this place from friends so I decided to come here for my birthday. Tasty N' Sons... is amazing!
The first thing you should know is the entrees are served family style, so the portions are LARGE. We ordered the following (and yes we over ordered but it was my birthday and these leftovers were so worth it) :
Bacon wrapped dates, maple and cumin yams, Mac and cheese, fried chicken, cider braised pork chop with bacon jam atop a Johnny cake, one of each kind of biscuit and a pear berry fried pie with Chai tea ice cream. I would say the must haves are the dates, fried chicken, pork chop/Johnny cake and biscuits. Everything was good, but these were exceptional and I would gladly order them again. The fried chicken when paired with their pickle, some hot spice and honey was the perfect bite. Same goes for the pork chop with bacon jam and Johnny cake.
In addition to the delicious food, the service was impeccable. I've never been to a restaurant where the balance of service was perfect: not overly smothered yet not abandoned and still being taken care of. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative. This was just the icing on the cake... or pie?
Seriously, if you haven't figured it out by now, I LOVED Tasty N' Sons. It's a MUST in a city of incredible restaurants.
