This Italian bakery in my neighborhood that I absolutely love. Their apple crumble pie is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The crust is perfectly baked — golden, flaky, and buttery. The apple filling is soft, sweet, with just the right amount of cinnamon flavor. The crumble topping is the highlight. It’s crisp, crumbly, and adds a nice texture contrast to the soft huge chunky apples inside. Love it because it just right amounts of sweetness.

My favorite spot to buy cookies! Sooo yummy! Cakes, cookies, chocolate and not sweet pies. Super convenient to shop for big occasions or sudden pop up parties. They have all kind of dietary restrictions friendly pastries. Gluten free, sugar free, all other Free you might need to make sure everyone gets beautiful pastry and not get health issues. Ladies that work there are also very nice.

The best in the neighborhood! Tasty Pastry is one of our favorite places to get treats from and we were so excited to get our wedding cake from there too! It was beautiful and delicious! It was exactly what we envisioned for our wedding cake down to the Mickey heads! The whole process was so smooth and Nicole was an absolute pleasure to work with!

Stumbled upon this bakery and tried a few items such as the mango cheesecake, passion fruit cheesecake, cannoli and cinnamon roll. Prices are very fair. Pastries were not too sweet and the mango cheesecake is good— not too sweet and creamy

We came here on a whim. There was a lineup of people. The service was fast. They have a big variety of stuff. From pies, croissants, cookies, breads, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, cakes… They have the biggest selection of gluten free desserts that I have ever seen. We got cannolis, lobster tail, raspberry jam squares, lemon cookies and cheesecake slices. The cheesecake is phenomenal! So creamy and delicious. Easily one of the best ever. The other stuff was all good. The cheesecake is out of this world!

Has one better available dessert options for diabetically challenged very important if you like eat cake. Its one of best around besides being delicious destination near post office 13 ave . Thank you now im a little diabetic too . !

Lots of pastry varieties to make your head spin and your mouth water. Their cakes look fantastic. I have yet to try them. I only tried their sugar-free creampuffs & hot cocoa on my first visit. No place to sit. Takeout only.

What a fantastic bakery for a local neighborhood 🥇🥇. My top pick for Brooklyn if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth. Pastries galore, glamour, & more… The shelves are stacked with deliciousness from cakes, cookies, breads, & you name it. My mango mousse cake was phenomenal, just as good was the rum cake. Extra large iced cappuccino & 2 pastries was $13.51. Very reasonably priced 🙏🏻 Polite & courteous service from the staff 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Sat outside on a table under the umbrella and indulged myself in a little bit of BLISS 😊😊

This is one of the few Italian bakeries that makes personal pan pizza Flatbreads. The Zucchini flatbread pizza is really tasty with the right amount of mozz to compliment this pizza. Also, purchased their pastry as well; the cannoli was good-though the shell was a bit soggy. Seasonally, got their Pumpkin Cheesecake tart- delightful. Aside from the flatbread pizzas; will definitely try their cakes and cookies on my next visit.

Lovely bakery shop with warm neighborly vibes. They are very popular and can easily have a line out the door, especially during the holidays! Service is fast thought and the workers are lovely to talk to. I've had a variety of Italian pastries here. I usually order the assorted cookie platter, which is always a standout at parties. The fruit tarte is AMAZING- has a tropical fruit on top of a chocolate- lined cookie crust. Their cakes are delicious. Their pies: my next try will be that blueberry crumble! I recently had a s'more latte, which I was able to customize to minimize the sugar content. They made it just right. I will always stop by hère when I'm in the neighborhood!

Great bakery but since they are on vacation my bday is Sept 15 we couldn't get a cake I hope it's not like this yearly .

My aunt usually gets cannolis from here, so when I stopped by to get them for her, I was immediately captivated by all the desserts they have. Everything looked so good. I bought a few things to try. I was so exited to try everything that I forgot to take a picture before eating them, but here is a picture of everything half-eaten. I ordered the chocolate mini cannolis, traditional mini cannolis, red velvet cake, oreo cake, and ferrero cheesecake. I don't have too much to say about the cannolis since it's something we eat often. I thought the cakes, both the oreo and the red velvet were OK. They weren't as light and soft as I expected, they were good, but just ok good, not something I would get again. BUT the ferrero cheesecake though.... We were blown away by it! The cheesecake was so soft and creamy, perfect taste, with the crunch of the ferrero covering, perfection. Actually weny back the next day to buy more! In summary, get the ferrero cheesecake!!! but I would skip the red velvet and the oreo cakes.

Light and airy, and not too sweet--the best combination! We got a cheesecake with chocolate swirls and I expected to have a sugar rush after but I think the darkness of the chocolate paired well with the cheesecake.

Everything at this bakery is delicious. I ordered a gluten free custom cake and no one could believe that it was GF. They have sugar free and vegan desserts as well. And their regular cakes and pastries are amazing.

Ok, I love to hate going here! The aroma is incredible, staff are terrific and the products worth the trip. Actual real jelly donuts, actually stuffed!! Danish, cookies and pastry are all excellent. Please keep it up.

Vegan chocolate mousse cake was outstanding!! They also have a vegan whip cream cake. Will try that next time.

This is a classic staple in the neighborhood. They serve a wide variety of bake goods from donuts to cookies and cake. I tried the Boston cream donut and it was nice and hefty not made with any cheap ingredients. Good amount of creamy filling and tasted freshly made.

Pastries are as hard as a rock here, especially their cookies and Hamantashen (I did not come here late in the day either, but good bakeries are better than the early bird rule). They up-charge you if you pay with a credit card. Their Linzer tart is tasty but it literally crumbles right after that first bite. I was barely able to save it. I also found the staff gruff, and not in a great way. It felt like they wanted me to get in, pay, and get out. It is like a milled out selection of baked goods, which they have a great selection of. The location is also not too conducive, a bit of a hike from the D train. That is no fun. For a Dyker Heights bakery (just outside Bensonhurst), it is a bit of a letdown. Get your baked goods elsewhere.

I've been going to this shoppe since 1999. When I moved out of the neighborhood I would place orders and each time I visit Brooklyn this is my first stop! Best place to get sugar free pastries. I mean for real!!! I've yet to find a bakery that does then as good! No after taste, no bloating, just amazing! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Parking however, is very difficult. I usually park 2-3 blocks away.

This landmark pastry shop is well worth the trek. The folks that told me about the spot remember it when they were kids back in the early '60s and it seems to be doing just as well even considering the pandemic. I was able to visit the spot about a month ago and came back a few more times just to make sure the first time was in the fluke but I can say that probably some of the best pastry around. Also some pretty good pizza as well. parking wasn't too bad when I got there I was able to score a spot across from the church.

Wow. The best Napoleon pastry I have ever had. I was told this was the place for the best Italian pastries and desserts and they were not lying. So good, if we are ever in Brooklyn we are definitely making a stop

While there are many around in Brooklyn still, I still find it hard to find good reasonably priced pastries. I am also a bit pickier because I used to work in a great Italian bakery :) Tasty Pastry Shoppe combines some of these elements and the price point is reminiscent of old times. They make specialty cakes and pastries, hot foods, they have breads and chocolates and have also kept up with newer trends. The look of the display is very nice and visually appealing and the pastries are pretty good. The Ferraro Rocher pastries are vert rich and decadent, but delicious - I enjoy the hazelnut cannoli version of this. They also have the good French cream that isn't just whipped cream in pastries like the lobster tail. You can also get an extra large version and have them filled with cannoli cream if you want. Staff is nice and Jerry was so helpful and patient when I was here the first time. I had a wonderful experience and have been back since. I also enjoy the toffee candy which is hard for me to find a good one that comparable to the best one I've ever had (in Chicago). If you're looking for good pastries at good prices, Tasty is the place to be!

Updating my review yet again because we tried a few items today. I still think the blackout cake is the best of all the cakes I've tried so far. Their donuts and cookies are also very good and would buy again. Today, we had a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles; carrot cake and a chocolate fudge cake slice. The cupcake was very very very dry. The carrot cake was overly sweet, not a fan of the frosting. The cream cheese flavor wasn't strong and the powdered sugar used in the frosting tasted...almost cheap, like not high quality at all. The chocolate fudge was okay, not the greatest.

We were walking the Dyker Christmas lights and literally just happened upon the Tasty Pastry Shoppe, and WHAT a find! They had cases and cases of every possible old school Italian bakery item you could possible want, incredible looking Italian bread warm out of the oven, two dedicated cases to sugar free and low carb re-dos, AND several different sized boxes of some of the best Strufoli, i've had in a long time! This is one excellent bakery HIGHLY reccomend!!

Terrible quality. Do not trust this place with your special occasions. They did not make the cake the way that I ordered it, and the way it was constructed was so flimsy (and poorly packaged) that it partially collapsed. The cake ($140) , was completely unpresentable., and the pretty unicorn cake in the picture online, that my granddaughter was looking forward to for her birthday, didn't have a unicorn on it at all. Thry didn't follow the instruction for her name because they "thought is would look better smaller" and never consulted me about it, so their just unprofessional across the board. They also blamed the poor packaging on "China", because that's where they ordered their boxes from. Shameful.

Bought a slice of the red velvet cheesecake yesterday and was excited to try this place. Took a bite today and the cake was stale! Tossed it out with the quickness, never coming back here again!

Another Rock Star bakery in Brooklyn, they have it all, and all items are made with the finest ingredients. Everything is so fresh and so perfectly made. They claim they have the largest selection of sugar free bakery items, I don't know for sure but it's a huge selection as well as their gluten free selections. Cookies are to die for, as well as the peach tart. Counter help are the sweetest girls and they can actually make change. Highly recommend this bakery and the prices are not for the owner to retire after you leave. Run and enjoy this old school bakery, parking is street only with meter except Sunday

After seeing a picture of the ferrero mousse, I had to come and try it. I ordered that ($3.50) and a tiramisu ($3.50). The tiramisu was all cream besides the lady finger on the sides and it was meh. However, the ferrero mouse was delicious!!! The chocolate, the crunchy exterior, yums! I am definitely coming back for that.

I love to come this place, our favorite place to stop and get desserts and cupcakes and treats whenever in the car driving to Brooklyn they have tons of options and coffee and are really cute inside. We are been many time. Easy parking ,Recommended!

A small Italian bakery hidden in dyker height neighborhood. Inside is very bright and clean. Plenty of variations. Each small slice is about $3, very reasonable price. And they also have lots gluten free and sugar free bakery. This time, I got 4 slices Chocolate cake: strong chocolate taste, it's very sweet, but good with dark coffee! Red velvet cheesecake: good balance between red velvet cake and cheesecake. Medium sweet. Ferrero's mousse: it basically taste like giant Ferrero Rocher Chocolate. If you like that chocolate, then you will love this. Passion fruit cheesecake mousse. This is my favorite one. Perfect balance of sour and sweet. And the passion fruit just taste really good with cheesecake! Can't wait to come back to try other items!

I love this pastry shop! Not only do they have pastries but also breads and other Italian specialities like rice balls. The breads are AMAZING! The cakes are not too sweet or dry. They are all just right. I have came in to grab a cake for parties and gatherings and everyone ALWAYS asks where I got the cake. They also have a sugar free selection as well. Warning: around the holidays it does get very very busy.

I haven't been here in a long time but I'm glad I went back. The pastries are so good! Absolutely beautiful decorated cakes in the window and so creative. My hubby and I got a few things today, we got the apple turnover, Mimi tiramisu cakes and chocolate croissants. definitely a place you need to try if you've never been. The girls that work there were so polite and the place is super clean.

We had the small tiramisu cake which was more than enough to slice thinly to feed 20 people. Amazing layers of amaretto infused cake and cream. If I could change one thing, it would be more cake to cream or ratio, solely because there are so many layers of cream. The cream is also lightly hinted with amaretto flavoring. Sweetness level is perfect and the lady fingers were chunky, airy and with grains of sugar. Definitely one of the best tiramisus I've had.

Very very good neighborhood pastry shop. Got a little pricier over the years but well worth it. Large selection of donuts muffins cakes cookies. Worth the trip and the chocolate donuts are really worth trying.

My husband's cousin picked up a few treats for us to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Well made, beautiful desserts. We tried the Mango Cheesecake Mousse and the Ferrero. Personally, they were both just a tad too sweet for my liking, but my husband gladly polished them all off. I'm not a huge fan of mousse, but enjoyed the sliver of cheesecake with the soft mango cream. The Ferrero was adorable, exactly like a supersize version of the Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Since my husband loves Ferrero Rocher, this was absolutely perfect for him.

Awesome bakery that had been in the neighborhood for years. They have a very wide variety of cakes, pastries and Italian specialities. For the most part the prices are fair although things like pIgnoli cookies (pine nut) are up to $35 per pound. They are well staffed, everything tastes great and it's fresh. It never looks or tastes old. I like some of their specialties like their ginger bread houses, Boston cream pie, Apple pie, tri-color cookies just to make a few. Anyone I know that comes from an old fashion Italian family come here. I would highly recommend them when you want something sweet and awesome.

This bakery is always uplifting the neighborhood with the most bewitching smells of fresh goodies, which waft around the neighboring three blocks. The place is always bustling with customers. Every morning, day, evening, weekday or weekend, I stumble upon the same copious amount of people frequenting the shop. That tells you that this bakery knows how to make a lot of people happy! On my most recent visit, on a mildly warm December Saturday around 8:30pm, there was a jolly commotion to get inside the shop. There was a line stretching alongside the block to get in! Customers were receiving numbers to go inside and purchase goodies. A helper was standing outside, distributing customer numbers for the wait line, and directing traffic. Never before in my life saw a line to get into a local bakery shop at night, right before closing. You'd think that the apocalypse was upon us and the shop was selling the last supply of life saving basics. The cheerful holiday music playing in the store created an upbeat vibe. The packed bakery was bustling with kids and families, purchasing all sorts of holiday treats. A Santa was hanging out by the entrance, greetings kids and entertaining guests. Pretty welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to return. The space is always clean and tidy. The service is swift, the staff is friendly and accommodating. They sell a wide variety of baked goodies, from sweets to savory pies and pizzas. An incredible array of products that you can choose from--I always spend hours deciding which confectionary delight to pick--it's such a difficult decision when everything looks and tastes incredible! Custom orders are a great idea. You can get some kick ass custom cakes in this place. They offer a great season variety of goodies such as chocolate Easter bunnies & eggs, spooky Halloween & homey Thanksgiving treats, and of course tons of winter deliciousness. Loved their giant chocolate turkeys and gingerbread mansions! You walk in a winter wonderland--ginger bread houses of all calibers surround you, like in a movie, from small assemble yourself kits ($20) to lofty masterpieces that go for as much as $250. Very entertaining to explore, even, or should I say, especially for adults. My boyfriend had to drag me out of the shop after twenty minutes of pure display case watching and drooling over the fanciful, colorful holiday creations. Cannot wait to be back for Valentine's Day sweets! The prices are reasonable. Some things, like seasonal treats are more expensive due to increased demand. But the daily selection of goods is fairly priced, so recommend giving a try. Overall, a great local bakery that stirs your senses and transports you to a happier place during your visit to sugar-topia.

I'm always on the lookout for a great cannoli and after trying the traditional cannoli here, I have to add this spot to the list of best in NYC! The filling was thick and creamy without being too sweet and had a perfectly crisp shell. I've had a surprisingly difficult time finding great cannolis here, but Tasty Pastry Shoppe has one of the best! We also tried the chocolate pretzel cream sandwich thing that was also very good. Definitely stop by if you're in the mood for some Italian sweets.

Bought a red velvet cake and it was the worst red velvet I have ever had! Cloyingly sweet icing that was laid on waaay to thick. Between the layers of cake (which were mediocre at best) the icing was nearly .75 of an inch thick possibly more. Now I love cream cheese icing and red velvet is one of my favorites. But it should never be this sweet. Me and my guests all agreed. We pushed the icing aside and only ate the cake. To be honest after the bday celebration we threw out 75% of the $30 cake. I don't understand how this place has long lines all the time. I will add that I do enjoy their cannolis. But I will not be trying anything else. At least not anymore cakes.

I went in to get premium Italian cookies for over $25 a pound. I just purchased 4 pounds and over half of them were filled with basic cookies you could get anywhere for $4.99 a pound. I've been a customer for years and have had this problem for the last 2 years. After last year, and bringing this issue to their attention, I was willing to give them a chance that the prior year was a one-off. Same issue! They don't listen to what you request nor do they show you the cookies before packaging them up.....which would be moot as the bottom layer is the cheap ones. Very disappointed in a bakery that used to be very good.

Got my girl friend a tira misu birthday cake and it fucking rocked....I think I inhaled about 10,000 calories just entering the joint.....the cookies, God, the cookies ......everywhere! I have to come back for some of them bad boys. Show this place some love and you won't regret it! And thanks to the brother from the Castle on the Hill for recommending this place.

It would be nice if they could.make almond flour cakes. While there pies are sugar free besides reg pies I cant eat its made with reg dough. I had a small piece but it raised my sugar its sugar free but not low carb so it's not really catered to diabetics.

Tried their cannoli, cassata cakes, St. Joseph's zeppole, focaccia bread, olive loaf, pizza loaf, pignoli cookies, and rainbow cookies. The savory bread was good and I would buy them again. The sweets were way too sweet though. The 7-layer rainbow cookies were not fresh and had way too much food coloring and sugar in them than necessary. Pignoli cookies had a good amount of pine nuts (for $40 a pound I expected more though?) Bakery has a good variety but I'll just come here for the bread next time.

I've lived in bay ridge all my life and needed a local bakery for when Your Baker closed. This bakery is your old school bakery with comparably old school prices. I've worked my way through the pies and breads, fig rings and pizzas/sausage rolls. Great quality for the price. Always had pleasant interactions with the staff and never been disappointed with the fare. The pizzas have a more sweet bread taste than the savory/salty I prefer but it's a nice pickup for when you're really planning to have dessert for dinner anyway.

After visiting the famous Dyker Heights Christmas Lights, I decided to stop by this bakery for some treats. This place had such good reviews and pictures, that I had to try it. I went with an assortment of different pastries, in which I chose some of my favorites. I went with the lobster tails, cannolis, small cheesecakes, and rainbow cookies. Everything was delicious. So fresh. I really enjoyed the lobster tails and the rainbow cookies. They were my favorite of the bunch. Also, their Lard / Prosciutto Bread was really good. Nice and moist and filled with lots of meat I'm very bite. Overall, this was a great pastry shop.

I am not as enthusiastic about Tasty Pastry Shoppe as others. The location is great and it is very clean, but nothing in this bakery really impresses me. My niece shops here often because of the convenience of it's location. I would describe Tasty Pastry Shoppe as a retro experience for nostalgic Italian's. Everything has way too much sugar, the designs are old school, and the clientele are a bunch of character's. Great for some, but not for me.

I've been here twice and have been super impressed. Such a good value and the cakes are yummy! First time was last summer, I called them to see if I could order a last minute cake for a friend's birthday and not only did they happily accommodate for same-day pick up, it only cost $16! I was blown away. Last Friday, we went to pick out 2 cakes for our family baby shower from one of their cake refrigerators, not knowing what we would find. We ended up finding the cutest sunflower cake at 1/2 price and also got a strawberry cheesecake, which was delicious! And all for $50. We will definitely come back for any cake/pastry needs in the future!

Cannot give 5 stars...reason.....twice got seriously sick from the sugar free caked (different cakes). Whatever the ingredient is.....beware! Other than that, great choices and other items are very good

I can't believe it's my first time visiting this neighborhood gem! I needed something last minute for a surprise celebration. I came here as fast as I could and walked out with their delicious fruit tart pie! I highly recommend it. What's special about their fruit tart, there's a layer of semi sweet chocolate between the crust and the custard. It was a wonderful surprise. The fruits, the flavors were overall amazing. The store has selections of pastry gift baskets, cheesecakes, puff pastry cakes, cupcakes, cookies, donuts, pies, etc. Some of the cakes has special sale prices on it. So worth. I'm unsure which ones or why theyre on sale. If you're looking for a glamorous cake in there, the average spending price for those are around like $40. I will definitely be back to pick up some rainbow cookies and more! How about that Ferrero Rocher cake!

Had this bakery bookmarked for a while. Friend had a request for a chocolate raspberry cake, which this bakery had and were open super early on a Saturday. I honestly wasn't very hopeful about this cake..... can I tell you how wrong I was? This was an 8.5 for sure, everyone was raving about it for days!

I'm giving an extra star for the experience and prices, not the quality of the baked goods. This is a must experience if you go at Christmas time to see the lights. Santa is outside giving out cookies on a tray, a beautiful church is across the street and the holiday lights are everywhere. The prices are low. Black & white cookie only $1.50 but it was dry, artificial tasting and terrible. The sfogliatelle tasted artificial and was pretty inedible. However, the jelly and sugar cookies Santa handed out were good! The regina biscuits were okay at only $8 a pound and the cheesecake was...different. Tasted like whipped cream and cream cheese-- very unique texture. Not bad but not great. Though quality itself was iffy, I like to think there are some good things here I just didn't order -- It is a VERY long wait at Christmas time, I would return next year for the cool experience -- just looking at all the gingerbread houses is fun enough for kids and would try the big chocolate mousse balls for only $3 each!

We have been here two times this week. Just discovered it and we'll be back again. We got the fererro chocolate mousse, hazelnut mousse, fruit tart, a variety of cupcakes. We loved it so much the first time we called to ask if they had the cheese burger cupcakes. They didn't, but they made a special order for us and called us back the next day to tell us they did. Our daughter wanted them for her birthday and she LOVED them. My favorite was the fererro mousse, but I did try everything else and have no complaints. There are beautiful cakes too. The strawberry shortcake cake is my next order!

Awful! Tastes absolutely disgusting! Couldn't even eat at all! The cake was so dry. There was so much food coloring It didn't come off my hands. I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday it wasn't good either. However, I decided to give another chance. No more! So disappointed!

I love cakes and pastries but i am not a sweet tooth. However, their Ferrero mousse and Ferrero birthday cakes are to die for. Yeah, i am that woman who devout her life for everything Ferrero Rocher. Imagine if i live above Tasty Pastry, shoot i'd be broke already LOL. Oh, and honorable award for their rice balls aka arancini. It is $2.5 per piece and whenever i am nearby TP, i always get it. The one with peas and meat. I also like their Broccoli roll but sadly it's $5 now (used to be $4). Oh well, i'm saving for next time visit. Yeap!

I'm in love... With these linzer tarts from Tasty Pastry Shoppe in Dyker Heights. They were light, but not crumbly and fill the linzer tart sized hole in my . Its a plus that they offer such a wide variety of gluten free options in the fresh case & fridge. This is my favorite. I would also recommend the gf chocolate chip cookies & chocolate covered oreos. The gf rainbow cookies were unfortunately very bland. I wish they offered gf bread options too since their regular bread looks fantastic!
