The service and food quality are superb and reliable. The hummus annd spreads anre my favorite and pita (made in house) takes it over the top. Atmosphere is nice, clean, uncluttered, and cool with a view of the beautifully landscaped Railroad Park. One of my favorite go-to restaurants in the Magic City.

We decided to try Tasty Town for a late lunch after hearing mixed reviews. We walked into high ceilings and clean modern atmosphere. They have what seemed to be a decent bar near wide windows with a view of the street and railroad. The food was less than satisfying. We both wanted lamb but were advised that for over $50 we would receive 3 small chops so we opted out. We ordered the greek chicken that was not hot or well seasoned and came with rubbery undercooked skin. The sides; stewed green beans lacked seasoning and were also luke warm, rice was just rice no pilaf to it, lemon potatoes had a nice lemon flavor and the village salad was as described. We also ordered the Garden Hummus which came with a tablespoon of yellow peppers only on top & spanakopita, received 3 which though good both appetizers were worth $6-8 at the most not over $10. The attempt at a fine dining establishment I think is a miss at Tasty Town. This was far from a fine or even satisfying dining experience. I left feeling robbed and still hungry.

Absolutely loved my experience here! Food was delicious, vibes were immaculate, and service was superb! They are also very allergy/dietary-restriction friendly which is a plus. The hummus was actually the best thing I’ve put in my mouth. I also loved their lemon potatoes so much - tastes like dessert. I feel like this would be a great place to grab drinks and appetizers/sides at with a friend. The atmosphere was so amazing - absolutely loved the retro theming. Staff were all so lovely and helpful! Will definitely be going back!!

The infamous LaDarrius Hutcherson was here eating when me and my coworker were ordering, that was a sign!!! I ate a little of this and that. The catfish is southern fried perfection and the lemon potatoes amazing!! The service was excellent and quick. I will be returning and you should too!

Google
The pita was divine, the atmosphere was so refreshing, and the variety of options was delicious. Souvlaki plate with beef was tender and sweet, the garden salad with golden beets was awesome. Try a few options to get a taste for what you like!! Maybe not the shrimp, but also he didn’t get it with the capers and dill, so take it with a grain of salt.

Google
This was the best meal I’ve ever had in Birmingham! Caleb was the best server, so friendly! Great drinks and food! Everything was fresh…. we literally took a trip to tasty town!

Google
For the most part everything has a citrus Greek theme. I ordered the Greek Chicken which was a leg quarter with Lemon Potates and Spinach Rice. I love Greek chicken but the chicken was just okay for me. The lemon potatoes were really good but I wish they had some crisp to them. Now I didn't like the spinach and rice, the rice was undercooked and paired with spinach, it tasted like 2 competing sides mixed together and not seasoned to complement each other. I was warned by one of the customers at the bar but I'd already ordered 🤦🏾‍♀️. They recommended the Sautéed Gulf Shrimp extra sauce with a Greek Salad in the future.

FreshintheHam

Google
Will perhaps return for happy hour and hummus, but not dinner. The pastichio was not fresh and the noodles were far past al denté. And the flavor was just not there for the pastichio or the salad - both were under seasoned I believe. I’ve ordered the tzatziki one two different occasions and liked it neither time. The atmosphere is gorgeous but it was completely dead when we were there during a weekday happy hour. The hummus is the best I’ve ever had. Someone had taken time to post a sign on the restroom soap dispenser saying “out of order” but had provided no alternate soap. Huh?!

Yelp
I love this place!!!!! I am not downtown a lot but on Thursday I decided to meet a friend here for lunch. The decor is fresh and new - very chic. I ordered the marinated beets and yogurt. This was unique. Mild beet flavored with tangy yogurt and vinaigrette. I could eat 6 plates of this item. Then I had the grilled chicken pita- fresh and light. The server was super nice but not overbearing which I like. I didn't need someone staring at me since they were not busy. Please note there is limited parking like all of downtown so come and prepared to look around and walk a block. This unique Greek experience is worth it!!!

Yelp
Update: did another pick-up order and was so disappointed. Giving them some grace and giving 3 stars. I walked in and had to wait quite a while to finally got acknowledged. It was kind of uncomfortable. No one was at the front hostess area. People made eye contact but did not offer to help. Finally someone helped, and I told them I was picking up a to-go order. She was perky and sweet. I checked my bag when I got to the car and realized I had no utensils. I went back in and asked, and they questioned it, as if I was not looking carefully enough. No...please, give me some utensils so I can eat this? They did. Once I finally opened the food, I realized it looked different compared to before. The meatballs lacked the sauce that my previous order had. It looked like a totally different dish. It was not nearly as enjoyable. I got the potatoes again and tried an order of the beans. Both were just okay this time. I was so sad because I thought this would be a good go-to kind of place.

Yelp
True to what the other reviewers have said, the food is excellent quality, service is good but the portions are tiny and waaaay over priced. I have been here several times with others and to sit at the bar to try some appetizers and always leave regretting that I chose to come and dine. The servers are knowledgable about the menu, yes...almost a bit too much. Several occasions, without being asked if I had been there before or if I had questions, they legitimately went through EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. ON. THE. MENU....INCLUDING THE SIDES. I mean holy overkill. They do oooze with pride over how everything is made to order from scratch, the minutes of each ingredient and some of the cooking steps... So after the mini cooking lesson that was unrequested, the ordering occurs. Service is fast and yes, the flavors are well balanced, tasty blahblahblah like others stated. But my god...think about the portion size that you would expect to receive after viewing the price point then decrease that by at least 1/3 of the size. ESPECIALLY the drinks. I'm talking maybe 5 sips for a $14 cocktail. I have very small hands and can almost touch my fingers around the widest part of the cocktail glass. Not for $14, no thank you. The next time I go back is if someone else is pay.

Yelp
Oh Yelp! It's Christmas Eve! We are a party of 9 coworkers and family meeting for lunch. There are a lot of newbies in our group, but Tasty town does not disappoint. For starters we got all the appetizers, meatballs, spanakopita, zucchini fritters, humus and baba ganoush with veggies and warm pita!!! Delicious! Everybody is raving. All this stuff good. I got your veggie plate with greens, spinach and rice, green beans and Greek fries. I didn't like the green beans in tomato sauce. I traded them for the lemon potatoes. So good. Two people got catfish, 5 people got Greek chicken and one person got veggie pita. Everything was fresh and good. Thanks to Tiffany for her wonderful service. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Thanks TT!

Yelp
It's really good but really expensive. Atmosphere is somewhat cold. Food is on point. Best hummus in Birmingham. I've had both the roasted chicken and beef souvlaki. It's all delicious but not worth the price.
google avatar

Yelp
Retro yet modern atmosphere with attentive staff. The meatball pita with tomato chutney and yogurt was delicious and unique. The chargrilled eggplant spread was also delicious, and the pomegranate added amazing flavor. Had the loukoumades for dessert, which were fluffy, warm and very filling.

Yelp
Everything I've had here is amazing. I've been on a Saturday night around 5:30 with a 17 month old and my husband. We were seated quickly. Our waiter was super helpful and nice. Although it's family friendly, I highly recommend for a girls' night during the week or a date night.

Yelp
We've had this place on our radar for a while now, but haven't made it over here to give it a try until last night. We walked in and were immediately greeted. After being seated, we decided to get the zucchini fritters for an appetizer. They came out with a tahini butter and had a honey dripping on them and were very good. For our food, I got the half chicken with the lemon potatoes and their take on mac and cheese. The chicken was delicious, as were the potatoes. Their mac and cheese was decent, but I wasn't wild about it. My wife liked her meal as well - the lamb sandwich. They have many other meals on their menu that I'd like to try, so I hope we get to come back soon.

Yelp
You truly can't beat the location or the evening ambiance at Tasty Town! The restaurant is perfectly lit (soft evening lighting), with a beautiful bar and comfortable seating. Our waitress was WONDERFUL - so friendly, and she even brought a bucket of candy over just for fun after our meal! We started with the zucchini fritters, and they were definitely the star. I got the chicken souvlaki this time, but I think the chicken pita that I've gotten previously is the standout meal between those two. However, you really can't go wrong here- everything is delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Found this gem on Yelp and it did not disappoint. The flavor of the food was amazing. Let me start by sharing the previous night I had Taziki's and the chicken wasn't good- in fact, it was rubbery. Tasty Town owns up to its name. The chicken was "Tasty". I literally could taste the grill flavor. The fries were surprisingly great and didn't require ketchup. Lastly, the freaking chocolate cake was sooo moist and fresh. I couldn't eat all of it in one setting. I appreciate the friendliness of this place and the freshness the food offered. I'll keep this place in mind if I ever have an opportunity to visit downtown again.
google avatar

Ranita S.

Yelp
Very disappointed they changed the recipe of the Greek potatoes which I go around telling everyone they're the best potatoes I've had in my life I ordered two sides of it Tuesday and unfortunately they weren't at all like I remembered What I had last time was light and tender with a cream sauce What I got this go were over done too lemony and greasy Overall this is a great establishment that needs to work on consistency Maybe the potatoes got reheated too many times
google avatar

Allen M.

Yelp
Extremely good. Try the meatballs. It's the best hummus I have ever had. Be sure to ask for Lattrice. She's the best. Finish your dinner off with a real good Greek coffee.

Yelp
This was a pleasant surprise! While in the area for business, this place was recommended by the locals for lunch. They accommodated our large group easily, orders were taken quickly, and fulfilled in a timely manner. I had the GULF SHRIMP with lemon + butter, capers, dil -- EXCELLENT! Tender, full of flavor and saucy. With this I chose the Lima Beans and the Village Salad- both great accompaniments -- Lima beans were (to my surprise) very good. Ambiance is cafe style -- nothing special -- but comfortable, well lit, and modern.

Yelp
Delicious food and unique atmosphere. Excellent service, too! Fabulous stop on our way from the Florida Panhandle to our home in N. Mississippi! We had a late Sunday lunch and absolutely loved it! Greek salad spot on; Lamb shoulder braised with orzo, tomatoes, olives, mint was incredible; and the lemon Greek potatoes were tasty! Braised lamb pita sandwich was delicious, too. Even the coffee and the presentation of it was lovely! Our server, Latrice loved her job and was felicitous, attentive and helpful! I highly recommend Tasty Town! The restaurant is very open and modern. The full service bar is in the center with counter seating and the open fully visible kitchen is off to one side. Chairs at tables are very comfortable! We dined mid afternoon so we were between lunch and dinner; it was a chill, quiet atmosphere except for the piped-in music overhead. No idea what the noise level would be like if the restaurant is full given the open space and very high ceilings. Something to consider at peak hours. There are soft seating couch options in the bar area as well as some booth seatings. There are plenty of options for seating that should satisfy all customers. I wish we lived closer and could dine here regularly. Birmingham, you have a winner with Tasty Town!

Yelp
The most delicious Greek food ever eat before Excellent Service and a friendly ambiance, I love it And I will come back again to enjoy the taste, delicious, amazing flavor food

Yelp
Whenever I have the taste for Greek food this is my go to restaurant. It's conveniently located downtown Birmingham across from railroad park. Red Mountain Theater is also not too far away. The menu offers a variety of clean eating food options. The vibe in the restaurant reminds me of a diner because of the seating and music playing in the background. They do provide table service and there is plenty of seating available that would be good for large groups. I ordered a lemon drop from the happy hour menu which was $3.00 and very tasty. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I'd say give this place a try if you're in the mood for Greek food.

Yelp
First things first, this place is downtown but has a parking area. Ok so I walk in the door, place is totally empty. Seems like lunch time is the time to go if you want the staff's undivided attention. The place has a very open and breathable atmosphere. The large windows add to this. The style of the decor has a certain sort of retro vibe. It's worth noting that 1. This place has a good selection of draft beer and in particular has the Muchacho light beer from Good People Brewing. It's also located in walking distance from the brewery if you want to grab a drink before or after eating here. The staff is welcoming. A minute or so after sitting, a very friendly lady came up and took my order. My first order here is the beef tenderloin pita sandwich with lemon potatoes and a small plate of marinated beets. Unfortunately they were out of the lamb so if you want it, apparently you should get here pretty soon after they've stocked up. I'm told it sells out fast. The lemon potatoes are THE side to get. Every bite was delectable. The beef tenderloin pita was savory on every bite and the tomatoes and sauce (or dressing?) added a lot to make it more than just one flavor. The marinated beets would have been a great appetizer if I'd gotten them when they were ready (They accidentally let them sit out but made a new plate). But they were good alongside my meal as well. Garnished with dill and marinated in olive oil and yogurt mixed with their own juices. This place more than earns its five stars. A little pricey but more than worth it.

Yelp
This really lived up to the hype for me! The grilled chicken pita was SO delicious. Chicken tasted chargrilled, pita was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - better than usual pita. You can tell it's homemade. The olive oil they drizzled on it added such a great flavor too. The orzo mac n cheese is what caught my eye the most (as I was deciding what to get before I got there - as always). I'm a mac n cheese lover through and through but never had it with orzo and it is life changing. (13.5) @madi got the roasted gulf snapper and said it was good but isn't dying to get again. As one of the most expensive things on the menu, I imagine this needs more of a wow factor. (36.5) We got chocolate cake (8.5) and Loukoumades (Greek doughnuts) (7.5) and wish we would've just stuck to the chocolate cake. The doughnuts lacked flavor. Service was friendly but we did have to ask for refills several times. She reviewed how we wanted checks to be split, went and got the checks, and they were still wrong. We'd give it another try for sure!

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Found this hidden gem on the way back home to Memphis from the beach. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Latrice was our wait staff and she was so knowledgeable about recommending different items. Will make this a destination on our way home from the beach from now on. Wish you would bring this to Memphis!

Yelp
Let me start by saying, Tasty Town has the best Chocolate Cake in a three-state area. As surprising as that might seem. Just awesome. Sometimes, about 08:30 PM my wife and I look at each other and say, "Chocolate Cake?". Last night was one of those nights. So, Cake, a five star. Service a one star. When you order to go at Tasty Town, you order from the bar. The bar had two people with their drinks. The restaurant was almost empty. The bartender was messing with the TV above the bar. I was right in front of her on the other side of the bar. I wait for close to 10 minutes just for her to acknowledge me. After 8 minutes I raised my hand and said, Ms. Nothing, no acknowledgement. I was about the leave but I really wanted that darn cake. Finally, she gave up on the TV. Walked around the bar and asked me what I wanted. This kind of treatment is great for my diet. It makes me not want to eat at this place. Personalized service is so important to the ambiance, food and of course service. When it is lacking, what a TV takes 10 minutes to adjust when a client is in front of you, it makes a place somewhere you never think about going again. If you read my reviews, you will know I rarely if ever complain. It takes a lot. Bad service is one of the items I will talk about. That is what happened here. Eat well, drink well and stay healthy.

Yelp
I was passing through Birmingham and just wanted a decent lunch. What I got made my trip. Latrice offered true Southern hospitality, and she and the manager Cedric treated me like I ate there every day. The food was really good, although at the top of the level of salt I like. Latrice sent me on my way with a complimentary small piece of baklava and a tea for the road. I really felt like I had just visited my aunt's house. I will certainly remember this level of hospitality.

Yelp
This was my first time coming to Tasty Town after hearing so many raving reviews from friends. I decided to come by during lunch, and was not disappointed. we were able to get seated as soon as we walked in, our server was very attentive, and the food came out within minutes of ordering. we tried our the lunch portions of the roasted chicken and lamb shoulders. overall the food was delicious but those greek potatoes were the star of the show! the rosemary lemondrop was a 10/10 and not too sweet. i would highly recommend tasty town for lunch to anyone working around downtown birmingham, and would love to try them out for dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
My first visit and I was excited since I'd heard rave reviews. I came Saturday for lunch with the fam. The place is large but quaint. I really like the decor and the ambiance. They have a really nice lounge section that is just cute! The menu has lots of options, especially traditional Greek dishes. In order to avoid overwhelment... I stuck with the lunch menu. We started with classic and eggplant hummus. I like hummus but this was soooo good. Especially the classic topped with crisp chickpeas. And that super soft fluffy yummy pita bread is mind-blowing. Most of my table got fried catfish with various sides. I went with the 1/4 Greek chicken with the village salad and fries. The chicken was so moist. I'm always leary of breast because they can be dry and flavorless, but this was good. It was topped with like a very lemon-y butter sauce. The fries were fine and the salad was more like a summer salad, no lettuce which was not what I expected. I heard the catfish was good and I tasted the lemon potatoes (yummy but toooo much lemon butter) and I thought the Spinach rice was yummy but different. Service was ok. Nothing grand but not bad. Overall, I'd surely return. If love to try a cocktail next time and give some other menu outings a try.

Yelp
So yeah , Tasty Town delivered!! I simply stopped by to get a slice of chocolate cake to go. When I entered, I instantly fell in love with the ambiance! Heck. I didn't want to leave! The staff assisted me quickly. Almost too quick. I was trying to take it all in. Yall! The chocolate cake is amazing!!! Soooooooo moist and soooooooooo wonderfully made! The slice is very generous and well worth the $8+. Go get you some PRONTO! All I can say is, put this spot on your list. I can't wait to return for lunch.... Their food menu looks stellar! Stay tuned.......

Yelp
Can I just say that this place deserves 10s across the board! They have stellar service, great food and the ambiance is amazing! I met some friends here for lunch and I am so glad that we picked this place. I was initially worried about parking, but there were plenty of spaces out front when I got there, which was a little after 11:30. There wasn't much of a crowd when I arrived. So there was no wait time and it was four of us. However, we got there at a good time because people started to come in around 12. Our server was very attentive and helped us with questions. He also made some great recommendations. The inside of the restaurant is so nice and they also have a bar area. What I like about this place is that they have a lunch menu, but you can still order off the regular menu too. I got the Chargrilled Beef Tenderloin Pita Sandwich with fries. The beef was so tender and they were not stingy with the meat. The pita is also made in house and it was so good and soft. All of the ingredients were fresh. The fries were also perfectly seasoned and are a must!! I ended up getting food to go too for my family, because I enjoyed it so much. They had the Chargrilled Chicken Souvlaki plates with greens and the lemon potatoes on the side. I also had the same later that night for dinner and it was so good. Those are easily some of the best greens that I have tasted in a long time. During our lunch visit, we had dessert. The chocolate cake is a must! Please do not leave without trying it. You will not regret it. It is so decadent and so moist. I am sometimes hesitant about chocolate cakes at restaurants, because I have had some dry ones. This was quite the opposite. We also had the Greek doughnuts and they did not disappoint. They had just the right amount of honey drizzle and were so yummy. I can't wait to go again, as it will be a part of regular rotation. Also, during lunch time, a lot of people order the Greek chicken and macaroni and cheese. So go early if you plan to get those during lunch.

Yelp
Food amazing!!!! Chef Alberto is awesome! Lamb chops are divine. Lemon potatoes are great. Steak is delicious. Rosy Dawn and Lemon Drop are the best drinks. Desserts are super!!!!! GO HERE!!!!!

Yelp
Was very excited to try some local joints while out in Birmingham and was lucky to have picked Tasty Town. The restaurant is beautiful and very classy. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. She was attentive and kept refills on our drinks coming. My husband ordered the 1/4 chicken entree with orzo Mac n cheese and a tomato feta spinach rice. The rice was excellent, but the Mac n cheese was lumpy, overcooked and or old. Chicken was good. I ordered the beef tenderloin pita sandwich and fries which were good, flavorful and with a generous portion. The highlight of the whole meal was their tzatziki sauce, wow! It went well with everything! We throughly enjoyed our meal but were disappointed by how lukewarm the food was. Barely warm. Also, the orzo Mac n cheese was just too dry either due to age or overcooking. Some kinks need to be worked out in the kitchen and I hope they do because the food is quite yummy.

Terri N.

Yelp
My daughter and I love Greek food, so we decided to try Tasty Town for an early dinner before going to a show. It did not disappoint! We tried the Chargrilled Eggplant, which reminded me of hummus, but made with eggplant. The warm pita bread that comes with it is some of the best that I've ever had. We also tried the Zucchini Fritters, and we split an entree of Lamb Pasta. The lamb pasta is amazing!! Definitely try the baklava!! It's divine!! Our server was great, and we loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. I can't wait to try some of the other entrees on the menu.

Yelp
Food is pretty good! Enjoyed the service. Latrice Is a gem and made our visit superb. Make sure you order the baklava. It was amazing!

Yelp
Spacious dining room. Pretty nice design. Table or bar seating option. Water closets were clean. Food we ordered was awesome. Green beans and pastichio was a bit on the cold side but still tasted good. Lemon butter sauce on the red snapper was overwhelming. Chocolate cake was dry. We'd stop by again if passing by.

Yelp
My husband had eaten at Tasty Town twice in one week and would not stop talking about it, so I made him take me and he was right! I expected more of a hole-in-the-wall and was surprised to see more of an open air casual but upscale venue with a gorgeous bar in the center. We were seated by the hostess quickly and greeted with a wonderful server. We tried the zucchini fritters - fabulous!! and we both got a Greek salad for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was so great. We will definitely add to the rotation!
google avatar

Baylee P.

Yelp
Our server Latrice was amazing! She was kind, answered all our questions, and brought some treats with our check. The food and cocktails are wonderful. Good vibes.

Yelp
While it was a busy night and we did wait about 5-10 minutes for our pre booked resy, Tasty Town was indeed, tasty! We started with drinks that did take about 10 minute to arrive. For appetizers we shared the hummus and pita and WOW this is the absolute best I have EVER had. Worth coming back for. For our entrees: my dad and husband had the meatball pita, I had the 1/4 grilled chicken with fries and Greek salad, and my mom had the avgolemono soup. The meatball pitas were room temp/cold by the time they arrived but still delicious. The grilled chicken was slightly try, needed a dipping sauce so I just used extra hummus. My mom LOVED the soup! We will be back soon to give it another shot on a less busy weekend or week night. A few operational things to mention: please add hooks in the bathrooms for purses, jackets, etc. nobody wants to use the restroom with things in their hands/lap. The restaurant was extremely loud and my father had a very hard time hearing us speak even with hearing aids, maybe invest in some sound proofing?
google avatar

Gabrielle L.

Yelp
Love this as a light lunch option near Railroad Park! Very cute aesthetic, but doesn't get as much praise due to location, in my opinion.

Tara B.

Yelp
We tried a little bit of everything when we stopped in early on a Saturday. Ambiance is fun, as others stated it gives off an upscale diner vibe. The bathrooms are individual and all marked WC for water closet which was grear once I figured it out. Food was tasty and came out relatively quick. Do not sleep on the zucchini fritters they were delicious both with the tahini butter and in the taziki dip I slathered on them. Greek salad was also on point! Service was quick, although not the friendliest I had ever encountered, not rude though. Would certainly go again, especially if at a Barons game or in general on that side of town, it was a quick walk to Good People Brewing where we stopped after.

Yelp
One of my favorite family restaurants in the entire city! The food is top notch- literally everything I've tried has been phenomenal. And the pizza on the kids' menu has been awarded the prestigious title of my daughter's favorite pizza ever Please note- it's not marinara style sauce, so if you're expecting a classic pizza, that's not what you're getting. In our opinion/ this is MUCH better. I always get the avgolemono soup, especially when it's cold outside. And the waitstaff is exceptional. They treat you like part of the Tasty Town family. I really can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
The DRINKS are always 10/10. This time I got a french 75, hummus and the catfish plate. The catfish was still juicy on the inside but the hummus was my FAV!! It was crunchy with chickpeas on top

Juli A.

Yelp
our waitress Maddi was fabulous!! the greek chicken was great! Management was courteous!

Yelp
Passing through town to see the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and Rickwood Field, I was tipped to Tasty Town for happy hour. With a local Canaba Brewing Del Rio Lager and gin & tonic we munched the Classic Humus with warm pita and veggies. We enjoyed the vibe, drinks and appetizers so much we stayed for dinner and weren't disappointed. The Souvlaki Plate of charbroiled beef tenderloin was ordered medium rare and delivered perfectly. In addition to the tzatziki and fresh tomatoes with mild onions, my sides were beets and green beans in a Greek tomato sauce. My wife had a Tasty Salad of field greens, beets, pickled onions, kalamata olives, fennel, radishes, perfectly boiled egg and a yogurt based ranch dressing. Other entrees that looked good at nearby tables were Greek Chicken, Pastichio and Lamb Pasta with orzo, tomatoes, olives and mint. The wine list featured selections from Willamette Valley, OR to Argentina, Spain, Italy and Peloponnese, Greece. Sweets offerings included Loukoumades, baklava and Lisa Donovan's Chocolate Church Cake. Chocoholic that I am, we split Lisa's cake; it rolled my eyes back in my head. The restaurant is in the UAB sector of town, convenient to the Institute. The black and white industrial decor with tall windows and ceilings was metro fun. The service from Evan was helpful and attentive. A chat with Cedric, who has managed restaurants from Charlotte to Los Angeles, left me nodding knowingly at my full satisfaction with the evening.

Yelp
Had my birthday dinner with family here and everything was phenomenal! The food and drinks (cocktails and mocktails) could not have been better. What was better was the service. Latrice was our server and she was super attentive, handy with recommendations on the menu, and just a joy to talk to. She really made the whole meal special. I had a complimentary slice of birthday cake and the entire staff signed a birthday card that Latrice delivered. Couldn't say more good things about our experience. Thanks to Latrice for a wonderful birthday meal!

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this place and the service is some of the best I've ever experienced! We started with the hummus and pita and moved onto Greek salad with chargrilled pork. We did the frozen yogurt with baklava pieces and their amazing chocolate ganache cake. Everything was so good. Our server Latrice was attentive, engaging and downright hilarious--as long as she's there, we're all in!

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Tasty Town. Everything was delicious. Our Server, Izzy was kind and attentive. The placeis very clean with lots of open space and a huge bar. The Mac and cheese taste like homemade. The hummus and warm pita was great. The catfish was excellent and the braised lamb pita sandwich was loaded with lamb, onions and tomatoes. They are very heavy on the seasoning but it is so good!

Yelp
Our 2nd time here in 3 weeks, and it just gets better. After our experience last time, we once again decided to sit at the bar with our favorite bartender ...GOOSE! The Birdcage drink and Lemon Drop were, as expected, awesome! We opted for the meatball pita. Big, homemade meatballs with a lemon yogurt, made this visit worthy. We also tried the hummus and chicken pita. Amazing! And per our last visit, Goose was on his game! You ever meet someone you felt like you've known all your life? This is the guy. Great food recommendations, fantastic drinks, stories for days, and a walking encyclopedia on music. This place is the real deal. We roll through town at least once a month, and this will be on our list of things to do.

Yelp
Great dinner, great atmosphere. The hummus is so good, and the zucchini fritters were delicious!

Yelp
I go every time I have a visitor in town, the food is yummy and fast, the portion sizes are perfect to have leftovers for lunch or dinner the next day, and the servers are so friendly - Latrice is the best! 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Do not let the kinda cheesy name fool you, this is the best greek food I have had in Birmingham. I have gone back-to-back days and have been impressed with the servers both times! The avgolemono soup is too die for if you like lemon. The meatball lunch special was good but the zucchini fritters were from another planet! I can not encourage this place anymore!!

Yelp
Food and service was impeccable!! Dining area was clean and beautiful, and they are open later than most places in the area. 10/10

Yelp
Take me home and hand me the remote! My belly is so happy right now. Hands down the best meatballs I've ever had (and I'm not young) If you want to get crazy, order the Shrimp appetizer and Meaty hummus. We got our food so quickly that I didn't have time to order a second beer. I know! If it's date night, ask for Landon. He will set you up with a secret sauce that will change the game. Super awesome server. If you go in the near future, I will be there because there is a whole menu of things I want to try! You will not be disappointed-

Yelp
First the service we experienced here was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. A big open seating area, with a central bar and great decor. The food we had for entrees was great! The only item we had that left a little to be desired was the Avgolemono soup-I did not taste any lemon and the portion of the chicken I had was dark meat. I am not a fan of dark meat but it was good otherwise so I wasn't too concerned, although I had hoped for a bit more lemon flavor. It is a good meeting spot for lunch or dinner as it is very close to several other things in the city. Although I am not sure on their long term parking situation (ie carpooling after eating and leaving a car there)
