This is one of the best restaurants along Colonial Rd. in Orlando! Everything we had was very good...except for the salted fish fried rice which turned out pretty salty. I guess for others that's ok. We mixed it with regular white rice and made it better! ;) Parking is available at the back of the restaurant. We parked at Publix across the street which is more convenient. Then did some shopping at Publix afterwards.

The food arrived super quickly and was absolutely delicious! Everything was well-seasoned and freshly made. The service was incredibly kind and friendly. I would 100% come back again!

This is the first time I’ve gone and been disappointed. Maybe it was just an off day. The noodles were very soggy and the scallion pancakes didn’t taste as good as usual. I will definitely give this place another try since I’ve been here many times.

Went here for my aunt’s bday she was hosting. The food was decent. My favorite was the lobster. The soup was kinda watery and did not have that much flavor. I tried a few of the other dishes and they were okay. The atmosphere at the time we went was pretty chill. We came in at around 6pm. Not that many people in there. Parking is hard to find. The back lot has a good amount of spaces but are taken up by other businesses. You could try to park across the street at their overflow. This was a Tuesday btw. We ended up getting lucky and found parallel parking next to the nail place next door.

Have been coming here for years and is always our first stop into Orlando. We live in Jacksonville and have come to Tasty Wok and have gone back home.

Extremely unprofessional, aggressive, and disgusting behavior by the older female waitress. Started harassing and screaming at us and demanding more tip for herself in front of the entire restaurant after we paid, although she wasn't the one who served us. She went on a long 10-minute tangent demanding more money for a tip for herself with a table she didn't serve, about how she makes no money working here and that we owe her more money. It was unbearable at the least. She was berating us and being extremely rude saying "do you know tips are at this percent" in a very condescending and rude tone. I politely requested a refund for my to go order during her tangent as she made us so extremely uncomfortable - it was unbearable to wait there for our food. She responded while yelling aggressively that she won't give us a refund as we gave the order too late and the kitchen started making it already. The order was one soup dish and the restaurant closed in 4 hours. One of the guests with me tried to calm the situation down and speak to her very respectfully, however she didn't let them speak, she was so disrespectful and demeaning. She screamed at them that they were wrong, and talked over them. I have never seen such unprofessional and disgusting behavior. She stood in the corner and stared us down and gave us dirty looks as we left. She slammed our To-go order on the table. Completely ruined our evening honestly and made us very uncomfortable. I regret coming here and wish I could get my money back. Will definitely be warning others to not come here. I have never experienced anyone demanding more tip to be given to them. There have been many reviews about her behavior and management has done nothing as she is still continuing to do this. I don't know how she still has a job there. I have tried contacting management to report this, however, their phone line doesn't work. I do not recommend going to this restaurant unless you want to be harassed and have an extremely horrible experience. Do not waste your hard earned money here!!

Google
This is not even close to the same place pre Covid that was across the street. Everything tasted different and of lower quality. Your basic slimy cheap chicken kind of place. Didn’t try the duck soup that I used to love, but glad I didn’t. General tso is definitely not the same quality.

Google
Tasty Wok is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Orlando. My favorite dishes are the BBQ pork crispy skin, salted pepper jumbo shrimp, and snow pea tips with garlic. The service is good, and the food comes out quickly.

Yelp
One of the best hidden gems in Orlando. The service is always top notch and very family oriented here which I really appreciate. My family and I have been going here for years and we all agree this is some of the best Chinese food in Central FL. The chicken wings are great, always crispy and juicy. The pork fried rice is top notch. The bottom line, this is a small hole in the wall feel type of restaurant with very good quality food. I would highly recommend this.

Yelp
Lunch in our last day in Orlando. If we had known of this place sooner we would have been here at least twice. Not much to look at inside, some posters taped to the walls, on a busy street. We made the mistake of parking on the street, which was like avoiding oncoming traffic from stripping off the drivers door. But, the food was excellent and the staff, including the owner were extremely accommodating. We ordered two lobsters in lobster sauce, which plenty tasty, a lb of roast pig, sweet and sour pork chops, seafood lo mein and pea pod tips cooked w garlic. All excellent choices, came with white rice and my son ordered egg drop soup. The party of five loved the food and the owner was checking in on us during the meal. Will definitely come again, but parking the lot behind the bldg.

Yelp
I had high expectations for this restaurant but sadly I was let down. The only item that I really enjoyed was the vegetable egg rolls. The fried chicken was crispy but lacked a lot of flavor for Chinese chicken wings. The pork stir fry vegetables was pretty good I just expected better. Nothing stood out to make me come again. Service and staff was very friendly and patient.

Yelp
Awesome authentic reasonable. Visit it and have the variety platter of different BBQ Park in the back

Yelp
This has always been a pillar of great Chinese food downtown. Whenever I'm close, it's a no brainer. Their Char Sui Pork is the best in town. Also love their ginger sauce.

Yelp
Second time trying tasty wok and have been disappointed both times today's lunch I went simple with General Tso's chicken it was the most rubbery chewy chicken I've ever had.
google avatar

Christiam S.

Yelp
I read some of the reviews some bad some good but my opinion were ok not bad it was ok that time I were so hungry. The food descended.
google avatar

K J.

Yelp
Not always consistent. Last time tried the pork, and it was pretty good. This time, though, got the soy sauce chicken, and it was just okay. It was a bit dry and lacked flavor, like it had been refrigerated
google avatar

Scott R.

Yelp
Thought this place was very good. Had the beef chow fun and it was as good as any I've had. The noodles tasted freshly homemade and beef was tender. The atmosphere is nothing to rave about, but who cares if the food is good? I plan to go back and try more things.

Yelp
Great spot for family style Chinese food, Tasty Wok has been around for the longest time, they offer a selection of traditional Chinese plates that's great for sharing. Staff is friendly although sometimes I feel service can be a little slow, but food comes out in a decent amount of time. The food is good, pretty basic (and I do not mean Chinese fast food/takeout basic - it's better than that). I'd recommend the salt pepper squid, garlic ribs, and mapo tofu. The inside does feel old and I'd say could use a facelift, definitely has that old restaurant vibe.

Yelp
Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Orlando. We moved from a state where theirs lots of chinese restaurant and moving to Orlando we tried a lot of places and this one is the best! Everything that they serve here is delicious. We tried to come here atleast twice a month. Our favorite is the beef chow fun, chinese vegestable with oyster sauce, bbq pork crispy skin, hot and sour soup and fried chicken wings. Trust me, everything on this list is so good! Service was great and the servers are fast. For the interior it doesn't look fancy or whatsoever but its spacious and comfortable. Parking is easy, its in the back of the restaurant. Go and try it! I highly recommend.

Yelp
Tasty Wok in Orlando delivers an authentic Chinese dining experience perfect for family-style meals. The extensive menu showcases genuine flavors, and the generous portions are ideal for sharing. The restaurant's atmosphere exudes a warm, communal feel, making it an excellent choice for group gatherings. However, it's worth noting that cleanliness falls a bit short of expectations, with some areas needing attention. Despite this, the delightful culinary offerings and family-friendly ambiance make Tasty Wok a standout choice for those craving genuine Chinese cuisine in Orlando, especially if you don't mind a less-than-spotless setting.

Yelp
I like this restaurant because it has an extensive menu. I have enjoyed eating there and tasting a variety of dishes. The service is adequate. There is good parking behind the restaurant. Most of the customers are Asian which is a good sign. John T

Yelp
The food and service were definitely giving NYC. It's small and the service isn't the best, but the food is full of flavor. There's room for improvement though. We ordered some easy staple dishes, the Peking duck, crispy pork belly, salt & pepper shrimp and chicken wings. All of the dishes were tasty, but the texture on the crispy pork skin and duck was chewy. Everyone knows that the skin is the best part of those two dishes. The wings were delicious and the salt & pepper shrimp were perfect!
google avatar

Rigo A.

Yelp
Not sure why this place has such a low rating, the Chinese food is probably some of the best in Orlando. I love the roasted duck it's fantastic. The pork fried rice is phenomenal. It's my go to Chinese restaurant in Orlando.

Yelp
I recently dined at a classic Cantonese restaurant in the mill50 area. The ambience was a little dingy with the typical service but this place is all about their food. The Mapo Tofu was a standout, offering a perfect balance of spice and rich flavor. The tofu's silky texture was a delightful contrast to the boldness of the dish. The Walnut Shrimp was equally impressive, featuring impeccably crispy shrimp coated in a sweet mayo sauce. The fusion of textures and flavors showcased the chef's skill. Come here for the great food and quick service.
google avatar

Jackie P.

Yelp
Great place to come with a party of people. We came on a Tuesday afternoon and the service was prompt. Food is great. Crispy pork was actually crispy and not oily. Also, the walnut shrimp is a must have!
google avatar

Patricia N.

Yelp
Wonton Noodle Soup was extremely disappointing. The soup was so bland I had to take out the noodles and mix it with soy sauce from the duck. The wontons were decent. The salt and pepper ribs were VERY good. Half a duck was $18. Also not too shabby. I also ordered the one of the house specialties to-go for my dad. Salted fish and chicken fried rice.

Yelp
Probably the best hole in the wall Chinese spot in Orlando. It looks run down but the food is awesome! Everything was flavorful! The service was great! General Tso Chicken: 5/5 Chow Fun: 5/5 Hot And Sour Soup 4/5 Duck: 3/5

Yelp
Colonial street never skimps on great asian food. Tasty Wok is indeed tasty that includes large portions, traditional tastes, and fast service! I am huge fan of anything labeled salt & pepper, so the bean curd was flavorful and a little spicy! Beef chow fun is always a go-to for me at a classic Chinese restaurant and they get extra points for their homemade flat noodles. Their orange chicken has real flavor and not that sweeten artificialness at most places. The crispy pork is delicious, made fresh everyday, and it's a must order with white rice - especially when you walk in and immediately see it being hung up by a hook like you would see in the streets of a real asian market. Partnered with roasted duck right beside it! The inside is simple, clean, and you can tell the locals come here. Which is always the best sign of good food!
google avatar

Yelp
Best wings and best egg drop soup. I only order takeout from them so I'm not sure what it's like there. Their wings and soup are the best I've had in Orlando, hands down.

Yelp
We came here on a Monday afternoon Feb 2023. The restaurant wasn't busy so we got seated right away. Service was awesome. Egg drop soup was awesome... and that's where it ended. My General TSO was so dry and hard I had to ask for a steak knife to cut it and even then it was a challenge. Scott got the Mandarin ribs, they were strange, 1 inch pieces of bone and meat, very dangerous to eat. Sauce was to sweet. The Orange chicken was passable had good flavor. The place was a little run down and the bathrooms were horrendous. I don't get down this way much. I don't see myself ever coming back.

Yelp
Tasty wok never disappoints. Every time we come into town we have to stop by tasty wok. I mean, if you don't, then were you ever really in Orlando?? I'd love to say that we've tasted around the menu, but honestly, we always order the same items. When it's good it's good. 3 meat combo w/ char siu, roast duck, and crispy pork, shrimp wonton noodle soup, salt and pepper squid, scallion pancakes, and this time we tried the Chinese broccoli with garlic. The portions are huge, we always have enough to bring back home, and the amazing flavors are always consistent.

Yelp
Went here to get our Chinese food fix. We tried what other Yelpers recommended - more authentic Chinese food rather than fast food Chinese. Young chow fried rice is always a must. My favorite fried rice. We had the salt and pepper calamari - probably my favorite. So crispy and flavorful. Same for garlic rib. So good. We also got the soy sauce chicken. If you like ginger, you will enjoy this dish. Super tender and pairs really well with the ginger sauce. We also got the wonton with noodle. A little overcooked/mushy but flavor was good. Service was quick and attentive. Granted it wasn't packed.

Yelp
DISAPPOINTING LUNCH We had a late lunch at Tasty Wok that is located on Mills and Colonial Avenue. It is a dated restaurant with minimal décor - in the back of the restaurant is a glass enclosed display of hanging roast duck, soy sauce chicken and crispy pork. Menu prices and dish sizes were good but the food was disappointing. We ordered roast duck ($18 half duck, $33 whole), soy sauce chicken ($11 half chicken, $20 whole) and stir-fried Chinese broccoli ($14). The roast duck was greasy and not very meaty. The soy sauce chicken was overcooked, dry and bland - the soy sauce braise imparted little flavor other than salt and color to the chicken. The stir-fried Chinese broccoli was the highlight of the meal. Parking: Finding parking was a nightmare even though Tasty Wok shares a parking lot with its neighboring shops and restaurants. The parking lot is located behind Tasty Wok and its neighbors.

Yelp
Love, tasty wok. Great barbecue I always order the beef chow fun, salt and pepper seafood, soy sauce chicken, duck, and char sui pork.
google avatar

Yelp
Tasty Wok's Salt and Pepper Pork is a crispy delight with a perfect blend of spices, offering a delightful crunch and savory flavor. The Salt and Pepper Squid is equally impressive, tender on the inside with a crisp coating that enhances the natural taste of the squid. The Coconut Shrimp is a tropical delight, featuring a light coconut crust that perfectly complements the succulent shrimp. Lastly, their Fried Rice is a flavorful medley of textures and aromas, serving as an ideal companion to the main dishes. Tasty Wok's diverse menu and consistent execution make it a go-to spot for those seeking a delicious and satisfying Asian dining experience.

Yelp
We were hunting for some authentic Chinese BBQ while in town & stumbled upon Tasty Wok. It's not a fancy place...the decor is very dated...but the food is on point. The BBQ and the beef chow fun is reminiscent old school Cantonese restaurants in NY. We also ordered their off menu special - sautéed pea shoots as well as the marinated cuttlefish. Service was pretty attentive.

Yelp
Food is why I keep on coming to this place. This place has changed management multiple times and changed locations but the food I believe still remains the same. My favorite is the crispy pork, duck, fried rice and Chinese broccoli. Service is always fast. Ambience : it was quiet on a Sunday afternoon, but typically this place is noisy. Crowded during lunch.
google avatar

Joy J.

Yelp
Tasty wok since the new location have gotten downhill in my opinion. They lack diners nowadays unsure why but I have noticed they also lacked of servers. I recall at their original location the food was far more delicious and portions were more. I am unsure if they changed kitchen staff but I sense the food is not the same as it was. I have not gone here for awhile - Green house at OBT is my go to for chinese eats nowadays because they taste authentc and the portions are more hefty. Plus closer to where I live. YH Seafood clubhouse is another cantonese eats I start going to but more for dim sum. Tasty wok is known for their wok fired beef chow fun and chinese BBQ however even the BBQ side has lacked of quality. I think ever since they moved to the bigger location - rent got higher so the food quality was affected. Who knows possibly new owners too? Tasty wok used to be tasty - nowadays it has its competition.
google avatar

Jeff Y.

Yelp
The food was great and got that authentic hard Cantonese service is one way I could describe it. The flavors were all there. The Triple BBQ appetizer was great and the congee was huge! I had the Chinese garlic eggplant one of my favorite dishes they make it with chicken and it hit the spots. The drop of the star is the cleanliness. The seats were a bit sticky and floor and dining area could be cleaner. Other than that I would highly recommend this place to get that authentic Hong Kong, cantonese dishes!,

Yelp
I went in based on the reviews and I am never going back. Upon entering I noticed the old state it is in. I didn't mind that as I was expecting some good food. We started with corn soup. It was watered down egg drop with some boiled chicken and corn added. We asked the waitress and ordered king pao chicken. Not sure if it was reheated or the chicken, the meat was felt gamey. It was not worth it. Nor the dilapidated ambience, poor service or the food.
google avatar

DeeAnn G.

Yelp
3 words: tough chewy chicken. I had the sesame chicken and although the flavor was good, the chicken itself was so tough, I could hardly bite through it! The ginger lo Mein was good as were the scallion cakes. However, the biggest problem is the parking situation, the back parking lot is always full, there is little to no street parking and the recommended parking area is the Publix across the street, but they will tow if you are not going to Publix. Not worth the parking hassle for tough chewy chicken!

Yelp
I had been enjoying food from this restaurant before I even went physically to the location. We have a co-worker who from time to time goes down to Orlando for business. He'd often stop back at work and bring us something to eat. So, I'd tried their chicken and pork before I'd made it to the restaurant proper. Today, we happened to be in the area around lunch time, so I took my husband there. I will warn you, parking is at a premium in front and behind the building, so it might be worth it to park kitty corner to the restaurant at the Publix... No matter where you park, the walk will be worth it for the food. Authentic Chinese food with a selection of meats prepared fresh daily. The soy chicken is, dare I say, succulent...? The pork, crispy, flavorful, yum... Vegetables, well-prepared with a fresh "crunch." The sauces are not overwhelming nor do they have that "out of the package" consistency or taste. I included pics from my previous sampling of the pork belly, Singapore noodles and pepper pork ribs... It's not unusual for me to order various different dishes when I go to a Chinese restaurant even if I am eating alone... I just want to try everything to know if I will go back, and this is definitely a place I try to get back to when I can, and I recommend it to anyone heading to Orlando and looking for an excellent meal... Staff, service, all friendly and expeditious! Also, I told the waitress about my food allergies, and she told me what I could and shouldn't eat along with assuring me that they could prepare some of the dishes without my allergens. Super! I can't wait to be back in the area again if only to try more of their huge menu! Maybe bring a group for a larger sampling size...

Patty M.

Yelp
I don't know how this place is getting four stars. I ordered broccoli with beef and rice. The rice has a smell like stinky feet or something. It was so bad. I could not eat it. The beef is good, but the broccoli was so hard I could not eat that either. That's it for me.
google avatar

Dang L.

Yelp
I've been here a few times already. They got the best peking duck and crispy pork sandwiches in my opinion of all the places I've been too so far.
google avatar

Taylor W.

Yelp
This was my first experience at a Chinese restaurant in Orlando. I'd been nervous to try any place here because I don't think I'll find anything like NY. This experience is horribly gut wrenching. I ordered the pork fried rice, general tso and wings. All the chicken is too tough to bite through and there's a funky smell to it. I'm going to add a picture of what I was able to actually eat which is just rice and broccoli .

Yelp
Four of us stopped by Tasty Wok for a late lunch after a wonderful day at Leu Gardens. After arriving we were promptly seated, and our server took our drink order. We ordered hot tea and water all around. I also ordered a Tsingtao Lager ($5.50). The four of us ordered an egg roll to start ($2.50 each) along with a big bowl of soup (for two) to share; the egg drop soup ($7.95) and chicken corn soup ($11.95). The bowl of soup for two is the size of a Pho bowl, so there is plenty to go around. Staff provides smaller bowls and spoons, making sharing easy. Both soups were delicious; however, there was not enough chicken in the chicken corn soup to warrant the $4 increase above the egg drop soup. For our main course Nancy ordered the General Tso's Chicken ($14.95), I ordered the Mandarin Ribs ($15.95), Nancy's Sister ordered the Chicken with Broccoli and substituted veggies at no additional charge ($14.95), and her boyfriend ordered the Orange Chicken ($14.95). Nancy's Sister and Boyfriend were happy with their choices, but Nancy and I had some issues with ours. Nancy's chicken was so tough that she needed a steak knife to eat it. For me the rib sauce was way too sweet. Also, each piece was cut small and included a bone making it difficult to eat. The only way to separate the meat from the bone (effectively) was by putting the entire riblet in my mouth and gently gnawing the meat from the bone. All I could think about was trying not to crack a tooth. One of the other issues we experienced was our meals were not staged accordingly. We asked staff to bring out the soup and egg rolls as appetizers, yet all of our food arrived about five minutes apart. I appreciate the speediness of our meal preparation, but we were a bit overwhelmed when our main course showed up just as we started eating the soup. The last issue I have to bring up is the restroom. Yes, it is functional, but also quite the disaster. I have never seen cove base installed so poorly, and the stall door is a whiteboard held up by cabinet hinges and a 2x4. Additionally, when leaving the restroom, I had difficulty opening the door; the latch was sticking, which could become a future life safety issue. I have to say that our experience was not all bad. Our server was exceptional; the dining room was clean, the food was hot and fresh, and we received a variety of food with plenty of leftovers for $52.56 minus tip (Nancy and my cost only). Would I come back? At this point in time, I prefer to try other options in the Mills 50 area before returning. There is a lot of competition in this area, and I am not in Orlando regularly, so my next visit could be a year or more out.
google avatar

Lana E.

Yelp
Tofu, orange chicken and roasted duck, oh my! Tasty wok is a go to spot for delicious Chinese food in the mills 50 district. The orange chicken is way different than the typical food court or fast food chicken. Very good-less breading! The duck was tender and tofu perfectly pan fried. Service was fast.

Yelp
Had a solid experience going to Tasty Wok at their new location. You might not get amazing service, but the food was solid, especially for the price. I got the Crispy Pork over Rice and it was definitely a large portion for a very reasonable price. They really load up the rice and the pork. Pork had a good balance of crispy skin to tender meat. Would not mind dropping by here again :)

Yelp
Growing up eating cantonese food my whole life, Tasty Wok is the most authentic chinese food you can find!
google avatar

Kingston D.

Yelp
Singapore Mei Fun and wings are some of the best I've had in the Orlando area. The service was great also. There was an elder gentleman walking around offering tea which I thought was pleasant. I wasn't too fond of the duck however.
google avatar

Ken L.

Yelp
We were actually going to go to another Chinese restaurant but this one was closer to us so we decided to give it a try. Probably a 3.5 star place but I had a good server so I'll give 4 stars. The stir fried pea tips and roast pork (cut too thin) we're average. The sauce that topped the pan fried noodles had too much corn starch that wasn't stirred enough causing gelatinous chunks in it. The shrimp wontons with wide rice noodles was good so I would return for that or some of their other soup noodle dishes. Prices were very reasonable.
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
This is not a fancy place, at all, but the food is delicious and authentic. I'm a regular here. I started coming here over 10 years ago when they were across the street in a hole in the wall place that was a third in size of the current location. We usually do take out here, since COVID, and the food is solid and authentic. The decor is nothing special, but clean. The staff is fairly friendly, and the service is pretty quick. My favorite dish is the lobster with ginger and onions... OMG so amazing and way better then American preparations. My husband loves it and he's from Boston They also have this appetizer that's a fried pork dish, don't remember the name, but so good! It's like fried pork rinds, super crispy with some meat on the skin and a dipping sauce.... a must try if you're a pork lover. Great menu and variety you don't see in an Americanize Chinese restaurant, I think it may be Cantonese style food here. Mmmm I'm getting hungry thinking about the food as I write this review Check this place out if you dare

Yelp
An Orlando day trip will not be complete without going to our favorite Chinese restaurant, Tasty Wok. It has been awhile since we went there but wow, food is still good as always. We visited their new location which is across where they used to be. It is a bigger place and cleaner. As for the food, we had garlic scallion lobster, which they caught live from the tank. This is so yummy and fresh. Our kids go to entree, sweet and sour chicken and garlic ribs which is addicting. House special pan fried noodles and Young chow fried rice are really delicious. Their water spinach is so refreshing to eat. Can't wait for another trip to Orlando to get more food from this place.
google avatar

Tamyiko M.

Yelp
The food is always good here. Please don't let the surrounding restaurants around with better ambiance fool you. The food is amazing here. However an upgrade inside is well over due but don't skip on this place for a great meal at a reasonable price. The service was ok the staff could be a little more accommodating. For example giving you more than one napkin. I always hav to ask for more when I eat here.
google avatar

Ri M.

Yelp
Been going to Tasty Wok for years at their original location. The new location looks like at least 6x bigger. This is my go to place for salt and pepper squid, always tender, seasoned batter with the right amount of green onions and jalapeno peppers. The pan fried noodle is also a staple for me. Consistent with flavor and service of food is quick.
google avatar

Yelp
The rundown- friendly staff, authentic taste, generous portions and speedy service. The review- Tasty Wok is a staple food joint in the "Viettown" area and after visiting you'll see why. You're promptly greeted, sat, and presented with a (very) full menu of options. Personally I have come to enjoy starting with the scallion pancakes - they have an enjoyable texture and taste a d for those who have never had it's worth trying! When you order keep in mind that the serving sizes are very generous. And while most items are "set" if you do have a request (aka softer pan fried noodles) I have found they are open to accommodating. And don't be afraid to ask questions - the way the menu is written not everything may be as clear as it seems! (some items may not appear to have a "protein" but actually do come with a meat/seafood/etc). The kitchen offers a fast turnaround and the staff are always very attentive. If you're looking for authentic taste with great service, definitely stop on by - just make sure you bring your appetite (share, or plan to take leftovers!)

Yelp
Tasty wok is amazing. Never have to wait for a table of 5-8 on a Saturday afternoon! Which is great because it's become a bi-weekly tradition for my friends and I! Everyone there is so nice and the food comes out super fast.
