Busy lunchtime spot known for Philly cheesesteaks, subs & soups, also serving breakfast in the AM.
"Let’s say you were in a terrible mood somewhere on the East Coast. You might end up eating a pastrami sandwich, or a Philly cheesesteak, or literally anything covered in buffalo sauce. Head to Tat’s instead—it takes less time to get there. This is a dive with subs, wings, fries, and a lot of Pennsylvania-based sports team flags on the walls. Go for a cheesesteak with hot peppers or the Tatstrami sandwich, loaded with pastrami, creamy coleslaw, melted swiss cheese, and russian dressing on a hoagie roll." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

"Tat’s Delicatessen in Pioneer Square promises East Coast-style steaks and subs and delivers on that promise. The two most famous sandwiches here are the cheesesteak and the Tat’strami, which pastrami lovers will lose their minds over. It has everything on it that a great East Coast deli would offer: housemade pastrami, melted Swiss, Russian dressing, and sweet coleslaw that perfectly cuts the savoriness of the meat. They also have a turkey Tat’srami (made with in-house turkey pastrami), and a great grinder sandwich. Whatever you get, be advised these ‘wiches are big boys —we recommend going with a plus-one so you can try more than one and share." - Eater Staff, Harry Cheadle, Zoe Kahn
"If you’re not eating cheesesteaks and pastrami hoagies and buffalo wings, is it even football season? Well, yeah, it is—but you should be eating cheesesteaks and pastrami hoagies and buffalo wings. Do that at Tat’s, where the explosion of Philly sports paraphernalia should get you angry enough to cheer on the Seahawks all day." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"Tat’s is a Philly-style deli that serves everything from cheesesteaks to buffalo sauce-coated chicken tenders. Their “Tat-strami” sub with pastrami and coleslaw is delicious, and it doubles as a reminder to tell your friends in Pennsylvania to vote, too." - aimee rizzo
