I almost never leave negative feedback like this, but our experience at the City Ridge location this afternoon was so disappointing that I felt compelled to do so.
My partner and I ordered a the Mezze Breakfast with poached eggs and the Couscous Bowl from the front register to eat in and grabbed a table. About twenty minutes later, the Couscous Bowl (for me) was brought to our table, but the server said they could not make my partner the Meze Breakfast because the kitchen was out of Jerusalem bagels. My partner asked if they could simply switch out the bread, which is only a side on the meal anyway. A few minutes later, another Tatte employee (presumably a manager) came back and said it would not be possible to substitute anything but a gluten-free option, saying that she wasn't allowed to provide different bread (e.g. pita) due to "corporate policy."
At this point, we were frustrated and opted for the House Breakfast Plate with poached eggs. When I asked if the kitchen could bring it up as soon as possible so we could eat together, the employee did not seem to care or acknowledge the inconvenience of the situation, which could have been mitigated entirely if we were informed at the front end of the availability of a menu item (or a seemingly nonsensical corporate policy on what breads can or can't be served with an entree).
The Breakfast Plate did not arrive for at least another 15 minutes (and the restaurant was quite slow at this point), and I was basically done with my meal by the time it arrived. When it did, only one of the poached eggs was properly cooked, it was oversalted, and was served bizarrely (with scrambled eggs included under the potatoes, which doesn't make a lot of sense). My partner left most of their plate and we left so we could have a proper meal at home.
Perhaps we caught them on a bad day, but this was one of the worst and most unpleasant dining experiences we have had. I know Tatte can do better and hope that, in the future, this location can improve considerably from their current state.
