Tatte in Coolidge Corner is a high-energy spot with some pros and cons. The service is incredibly fast, which is great if you're in a rush or just need a quick grab-and-go. On the other hand, the atmosphere is loud and consistently overcrowded, which makes it challenging to find a clean table or enjoy a quiet meal. The food is perfectly fine, but what really stands out is the speed and efficiency. Just go in knowing it's not a place for a long, relaxing visit.

It’s a pretty place, no question. Nice tile, nice bathrooms, everything looks very put together. On looks alone, they’ve clearly got a whole thing going on. That said, the staff are often strangely standoffish and touchy, while also being oddly expectant. You’re clearly supposed to be very pleasant and upbeat, but that energy isn’t exactly returned. The replies can be curt, the tone a little sharp — and then you’re immediately presented with the tip screen. Exhibit A. At a certain point, it’s like: just let me order my overpriced latte and scone and move along without making it a whole emotional exercise. I’m happy to be polite, but the interaction doesn’t need to feel this awkward and transactional at the same time. During COVID, the service was honestly outright rude, so I guess this is an improvement — and yes, it’s been five years, I’ll let that go. Still, the general attitude hasn’t fully recovered. And let’s be honest: this place is expensive. Ten dollars for a brownie is unnecessary. You can call it whatever you want, but that’s still a brownie.

One of my favorite spots to come get a matcha & get some work done. Tried the Lamb Meatball Shakshouka today & it hit the spot.

Walking into this establishment, you are surrounded by tile and this nicely curated Boston experience. There is an assortment of desserts that look fabulous… but that is where all the excitement ends. With not particularly helpful staff, the vibes of this bakery/restaurant does not fit the terms of a true cafe. In a cafe, we are often greeted at the front, asked whether this is our first time and given some recommendations raving about the food, dessert or drinks. None of that happened here. The drink you receive is mediocre at best. With no latte art, poor milk froth with large bubbles and no regular/zero sweetener available to add behind the bar…this was not a great “cafe”experience. The matcha is also watered down. Yes, it is green but is it giving umami, delicious matcha notes? No. And for $6-7 dollars a drink, I expected better. The cortado is THE barista drink that can tell if the coffee and milk fares well together. And the cortado as very very poor. The chai was okay. I would also argue this is not a very good restaurant/bakery experience. There are no waiters to serve on you like a restaurant, the round tables make it hard for space for two individuals with food and drink, and the seats are not particularly comfortable. A true cafe has comfort as well as aesthetics. Not just aesthetics. The entire floorplan separates 50% out to the kitchen, bakery, and a separate rounded drinks bar including common walkway. It is intended to be an experience, but misses the target. Larger tables, more heavy wooden chairs + cushions, and more seating would help even this experience. The condiments station is against the wall with plastic tubs for dishes under it giving waitress station. For consumers, a larger condiment station is needed for space to place your drinks, and add any creamer or sugar. Dishes and trash should be placed at a different location from condiments. Or trash hidden from the condiments and dishes in a separate rack. For the average consumer, this can be seen as good enough so a 3 stars is what I would rate it as. If these improvements were made, imagine how much more popular this place would be? -proper coffees with latte art + more syrups options + offering sweeteners behind the bar -full bodied matcha -better furniture -separation of condiment station from the trash and dish station -helpful staff that gives great recommendations to food, drinks, and bakery pairings

The famous franchise restaurants in the area. Tried the Iced Latte in the coffee bar. The braised Short Rib & Eggplant Couscous Bowl are great for meat lovers with some crispy sides. The Blue & BlackBerry Cheesecake is awesome while it's not too sweet. The croissant and deserts all look good. People are talking and enjoying the moment of the morning time.Enjoy the atmosphere here!

Love this location!! Not too crowded, nice and clean interior, and parking isn’t as much of a problem like other locations. Great shakshuka, and their pistachio latte is so fragrant and tasty! Love their freshly baked pastries as well!

Loved the vibe of this place and serves top notch pastries and confectioneries. Had been to this place with my best friend and enjoyed the time here. We ordered a black sesame latte, a simple latte, passion fruit krembo plus a chickpea and fava plate (served with Pita bread). Loved everything we ordered and I can still recollect the flavour of the black sesame latte. Will surely recommend this place if you happen to visit Boston.

Boston now has a decent amount of coffee shops but this is still my favorite. They make an excellent latte, hot or iced, where you can actually taste the coffee and the flavor is always house made. Grab a pastry from their pastry case along with your latte. You cannot go wrong. We've tried almost all of them and some hot favorites are the tea cakes, palmier cookie, and pistachio croissant. For the desserts, try the halva bomb or the one with passion fruit matcha. If you're hungrier than that, the croissant sandwich sounds ordinary but it hits the spot. Simple and sweet.

Tatte is one of our favorite cafe/bakeries in Boston. The croissants are generously stuffed and delicious. The almond one is heavenly with toasted almonds and powdered sugar on top. Ask for it warmed and it tastes incredibly fresh and pairs deliciously with a pistachio latte. We've tried other savory food items as well but they're not as great as the coffee and pastries.

Kind of disappointed in this Tatte. I ordered a flat white for dine in and was given a sign with a number. I waited about 10 minutes before I walked over to the coffee bar and saw my order there. Whoever was working at the coffee bar did not call out my name and clearly no one brought the drink to me as I expected. I saw the exact same thing happen to another customer. That aside, the drink was good, but of course not as hot as I would have been had I gotten it as soon as it was done. I wasn't a fan of the overall vibe of this location either. It's smaller than other Tatte locations so it feels cramped when it's busy. Customers left menus and dirty plates everywhere. While the employees I interacted with were nice, most of them were busier with sweeping and/or talking to other employees than cleaning tables or helping customers. Not sure I'll return to this location.

Food: I had no idea that tatte was a widely known cafe franchise in the east coast area, as I've been in socal for most of my life. got breakfast here with dear old friend, shakshuka and pavlova were to die for, i've never had such amazing hearty meal so early in the morning, just sad I didn't stay long enough to try other dishes on menu Price: about $11-15 for each food meal, $15 for shakshuka, which I'd say pretty affordable for eating out Ambiance: you order at the cashier and then grab an open seat. just the right amount of ambient cafe bustling and noise, great place to have breakfast/brunch with friends, great place to bring laptop and study, but place can get busy and may have to wait until seat opens up Service: good, nice friendly people, no issues Parking: plenty of street parking with meter, i remember walking about 5 minutes from our parking spot to the cafe

Extremely busy for their peak times on weekends (9am-12pm Sat&Sun) but they do their best to maintain quality coffee, food, and service! Huge selection of pastry items and I recommend getting a caramel iced latte! Reasonably priced 16oz coffee which is RARE! Kind and cool staff! Love tatte like latte

Great food and coffee (loved the ginger date OM latte)... horrible customer flow management. Maybe don't bring your laptops in during peak lunch hours? Ridiculous.

Visiting Boston from CA and went to try Tatte bakery for breakfast with family. When server gal drops my breakfast plate in front of me spilling the salsa all over my shorts and all over plate. Bacon flew off the plate unto table. She asks me if I still want another breakfast made to which we responded yes because bacon went on table and salsa all over plate. She takes plate away. She did apologize but didn't bother cleaning up the table or offering me napkins or water to clean my shorts. I didn't make a big deal and once plate returned I ate it. Before leaving I asked the same server (gal with scarf around head) I didn't get her name -- if I could get a box to go for my croissant. She gives me a box for food so I said no can I please have pastry box. Server gal rolls her eyes at me and walks away to get box. I was very surprised by her reaction. Upon handing me the pastry box I told her I didn't appreciate her rolling her eyes at me after everything that happened. She walked away from me and said nothing. I did talk with the supervisor on shift who just apologized but manager clearly knew who I was talking about. What surprised me the most was server made no extra effort after to make things better for me as the customer. Same goes for manager. We spent over $200 for breakfast that morning with a family of 7. We were not impressed with the breakfast. Threw most of it away, eggs, bacons. Toast comes with no butter and I had to ask for jelly. The only thing worth it was the pastries and latte. Otherwise I wouldn't visit this place again. Place is busy but we managed to gather some chairs at the communal table. Busy place, lots of students. We found street parking.

The eggs were cooked perfectly and the sourdough toasted was perfection. Pastries seemed just a tad bit stale but we're still delicious. The coffee was excellent! We ordered both the house and just a regular latte with oat milk and we all said the regular one just went better with our treats. The honey halvah is just a tad too sweet. The servers and cashiers seemed a bit bothered to be there but it was pretty busy so it's understandable. It was pretty crowded inside on a weekend morning, but there was still outdoor seating. A good time with good food!

Our third time at Tatte during our five day trip in Boston, first time at this location. Not much outdoor seating at this location, only a handful of small tables, plus at the time in the morning we arrived they were right in the sun, so to stay cool we opted for a seats at the countertop inside. We loved the savory french toast earlier in the week, so got it again and this time also tried the eggs with parmesan and prosciutto on sourdough. While there was nothing wrong with the latter dish, I probably wouldn't get it again or recommend it, there are better options to try. We also had to grab one final almond croissant to take with us as a snack before our flight! :) If you are debating trying this place out, do yourself a favor and do not wait any longer before you try this gem! The almond croissant is to die for. Pair with an iced latte and you are in heaven!

Tatte is one of the best coffee places in Boston with unique flavors in their drinks and food alike. The drinks and food are both a bit pricey, but comparable to other nicer coffee shops in the area. They have a nice environment for working, but you may have trouble finding a table, since it is usually packed.

A cute and cozy cafe & bakery with the most beautiful pastries in their display cases. Seriously, it inspires me to pursue a baking career! They have a variety of food (breakfast/lunch/din) and drink (coffee/non) options, and they have brunch on the weekend. But IMO it has more of a morning/afternoon kinda vibe, or maybe that's just me since I've never been there late enough for dinner. I personally like to go mid-morning when it's bustling and you can hear the murmur of everyone's conversations. It's a soothing place to "wfh," study, or to catch up with a friend. Cheers, Tatte

Significantly overrated food that is not worth the price. Does not match the hype. Not a great place to work either because of how crowded it gets.

Great place to grab a drink, snack, and grind out some work. It was very busy on Saturday morning, but if you get here early enough you'll secure yourself a spot with reliable, fast wifi, plenty of outlets, and a clean restroom. The staff was very friendly and I ordered an oat milk capp, which was excellent, with a pistachio croissant. Both items were excellent and I enjoyed them in a comfortable, aesthetically pleasing space. All together, it was a little over $10 but well worth the treat.

Walked her last Saturday during the blizzard as they were one of the only businesses open (for a partial day) in the area. Dined in for brunch. Food: 4/5 The food itself is a 5/5, but it's a little pricey, even with respect to comparable places in the area. We got the traditional shakshuka, with avocado. It was very good, fresh, hot, as always. Eggs perfectly cooked, and I swapped the challah for multigrain, which I enjoyed more flavor wise with the dish. We also got the Turkey avocado sandwich, which was very good, but bread was a little dry. Service: 5/5 Food was ready quickly, and the staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Especially admirable given the blizzard! Vibe: 5/5 Great spot for working or a meal with friends. Very bright and airy, not too loud.

Why is everything there so overpriced? Yes, one pays for quality and the staff are consistently pleasant and welcoming, but the prices are tough to take.

I think my review is based on the level of my expectations for this place. I have heard so much of a wonderful Boston staple chain of coffee shops - chic, upscale, with high quality coffee, food and service. On the plus side the cafe is lovely decorated and provides ample seating. However, the place seems busy all the time and people are struggling to find space. I was definitely counting on a high quality coffee- it was not my favorite, and not cheap. The pastry I tried was fine, but again I was expecting something more... They have a good menu of meal type items, but I wasn't as hungry to try them. Overall- nice place, on a more expensive side with decent coffee, and friendly staff.

A beautiful Friday in March and the perfect start to the day! First time at Tatte and it was delicious. I had the breakfast sandwich- eater beware this sandwich was huge! A half portion would suit me but I did my best to conquer it. The biscuit sandwich was smaller with a nice tomato salad. The avocado toast was also tasty with a nice lime flavor. Service was fast, you order at the counter and it's served to you. Definitely a yummy experience!

Black sesame latte? Yes, please. French toast on brioche that has been soaking overnight? Why not?

Wow! What a downward slide. I like Tatte but at least at the location. On Harvard Street in Brookline never gets it right on the sandwiches. If I get the right one it is missing ingredients and skimpy. My Turkey BLAT was only a turkey BL with not even one slice of turkey. So disappointing given what they used to be. Is it a cost issue?

I started this review by listing out all the killer items on the menu. Then I realized I was basically just re-typing the menu. So I'll leave it at this - if it looks good on the menu, it will taste good in your mouth. General Tatte awesomeness aside, this location pretty much set the standard for how to operate in a pandemic. They were the first to go full mask and gloves, and their pickup process has been smooth and safe from the outset. Also, I just tried the Lamb Hash for the first time, which was so mind-blowing, I completely forgot the world was ending. THIS is my "new normal."

I've been constantly visiting this Coolidge Corner location since their opening and almost tried all the breakfast, brunch and Shakshouka items. Everything is delish yet unique. Even just for a traditional easy sandwich, they add some innovative idea to the recipes that can highlight the taste. Their pastries and cakes have been significantly underrated. Overall, none of the desserts are oversweet, unlike many other pastries with excessive sugar that upset your stomach. I always order a dessert for any birthday or holiday celebration. The cheesecake is light and creamy; Tiramisu is soaked in the Stumptown coffee aroma ( Stumptown is one of my favorite coffee roasters); the various pies during Thanksgiving are perhaps the best in town; Halva's cocoa flavor is a chocolate bomb. Buche de Noel is legit--every bite has just the right amount of sweetness, cream and berries. It's served just during Christmas. I can't find a miss for everything I've tried, sweet or savory. Tatte lives up to the hype!

I can't say more good things about Tatte! It's a nice spot, nice staff, great food, and better atmosphere. The prosciutto and fig sandwich was out of this world. I love this place! Choose a meal or grab coffee and treat yourself to dessert at Tatte! Please keep up the high quality and care of food for your customers, Tatte! It's what makes you so special -- especially in today's world.

I'm from CT and Tatte is always my go to for coffee and a quick bite when I'm in town. Get something from their bakery -- chocolate croissant is always a good choice! I tried their matcha which was great too. Their chicken salad sandwich is SO good, especially on a croissant. I love the vibes at any of the Tattes. It's like a French cafe meets modern vibe. This specific location was a quiet spot, with plenty of space to spread out and work. Parking wasn't great but I lucked out and found street parking!

There's something about the coffee at Tatte. Its so smooth and the deserts are so balanced on their sweetness! Def going to beba regular and try everything there!

Ordered to go and the food was delicious. My favorite go to is their chilbir but it's been renamed to spinach, egg and corn. I highly recommend this dish. The corn is always so sweet.

After landing at Logan at 5:30am my first stop was the Tatte on Harvard Street in Brookline where I got a light breakfast before meeting up with friends! What I love about Tatte is that they are incredibly reliable and their standards are high across all their locations! On this particular visit I had their hazelnut babka, spinach and labneh pita, and their house latte (honey & halva)! Everything was so lovely and hit the spot perfectly after a long flight! Additionally the staff at this location was so lovely and accommodating considering how I bumbled in at 7am slightly frazzled with a semi large suitcase!

I'd describe this establishment as an upscale, chic bakery. There's a few locations throughout the Boston area and this ones pretty good. Prices are on the slightly higher side for a bakery, but their food is fresh and well-prepared. Quick service, and a good place for lunch. I often see people working here with a cup of coffee too. The blueberry/blackberry cheesecake was resplendent. An absolute favorite of mine that I'll definitely repurchase for special occasions.

Harvard Street - Brookline, MA : Ordered a sandwich off the menu earlier today and specifically told the Tatte employee that I could not eat onions so would appreciate removing. Sure enough the sandwich is handed to me with onions and the employee responds with "that's how the sandwich comes..." Here comes the best part - After reminding her I asked her for no onions and that I'm unable to eat the sandwich so at this point would prefer a refund, she responds with "i cannot give you a refund, but can offer a discount!!!". The employee proceeds to become belligerent and intimidating. Other customers are staring at her in disbelief. I was so upset, I left the premises with no refund and no sandwich. Only when my daughter walks in , upon hearing of the incident, successfuly receives a refund after declaring how unacceptable the Tatte employee and customer service was. It is no wonder that Tatte is constantly in the news for allegations of harrassment amongst staff. Sadly, it appears that culture has migrated to tratment of their customers. We have been Tatte loyalists since day 1. But today that has changed and we will take our business elsewhere.

if you are able to get seating (which is super hard) it is super cute vibes. My friend is obsessed with their shakshouka and I got the museli which came with really good fruit. Their coffee is descent but the large size wasn't even large for the price.

I wasn't expecting anything in particular but this menu is so big with interesting options. Not too expensive and so delicious. I had to go back to try one of their many delicious pastries.

Major catering fail with online ordering. Although the cafe is open until 8pm, the latest you can pick up an online order is 4:45 pm. Do not bother calling, because the catering department has a recorded message that they're all too busy to take your call, and the cafe does not understand why this is an issue, much less how to resolve it.

I recently moved to MA from CA & was looking for a good cafe. I've now been to so many Tatte locations in Boston (because I'm now obsessed). I popped by this location to grab an iced vanilla latte & some baked goods... I'm never disappointed! So delicious! The interior is clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful. I love trying different bakery goods. The cheesecake cup is *divine*, the Dutch cranberry apple pie is scrumptious and the buttermilk biscuit is so goood! I've also tried their food- can you tell I love Tatte?! :)

Food is great, service is lousy. Don't recommend getting takeout as after multiple visits got home only to realize they gave me the wrong order- someone else's order or not what I ordered online. When brought back, the staff accused me of either mis-ordering or picking up wrong order, rather than offer a simple apology for their mistakes.

As with all the Tatte locations, the new Coolidge Corner location is beautiful. And delicious. The same quality that you'll find at the other locations is there, and it's significantly bigger than the Fenway and Brookline locations that I usually go to. You pretty much can't go wrong. I haven't tried many of the desserts, but these are for sure the best pastries in Boston. I highly recommend the almond croissant and the ginger morning bun. To drink, you will never go wrong with the house latte, hot or iced. It's halva and honey, and it's delicious. Do yourself a favor and stop here for your morning coffee or an afternoon pastry- you won't regret it.

Got delivery from here via Caviar and it was right on time. Both of our orders were correct and delicious. I had the halloumi egg sandwich with avocado added (highly recommend this way) and my partner had the egg biscuit sandwich with added cheddar. I loved the biscuit and would swap out any sandwich for that bread in future orders. We finished with a almond croissant which was delicious and filled with marzipan.

Why can't we have a Tatte's on Long Island??? Excellent baked goods, delicious food, great coffee & really good service all add up to a very special place!

The Halvah Bombe, Krembo, Chocolate Mousse, and a Palmier. All fantastic! The soup I saw looked amazing! I'll have to think about ordering some next time. The quiche is the best I've ever had.

I am moving in. This is my new address, please forward all mail here Tile everywhere. Vaguely reminds me of a subway stop but not in a bad way, which is impressive Very cool floors. Sometimes I want to admire my shoes, and I appreciate that they provide a good backdrop for this activity. Earthy color palate: lots of white, browns, earthy greens and a touch of gold. Well executed. I see no less than six (6) different types of light fixtures. Great variety. The same type of joy I get in the lighting aisle in Home Depot. Plenty of seating so I don't have to socialize with other humans. Should be a focus of every coffeeshop. Let's talk about green. They do green well. How? In flourishes: the back wall is green tile, as are the menu boards and even the bags of coffee. Great coordination. Color brought in by strategic placement of a few plants; most notably the silver dollar eucalyptus arrangement on the central community table (made of reclaimed wood, another excellent choice). Bakery section is separate from coffee bar, filled to the brim behind glass with pastries that somehow also match the aesthetic of the cafe. It's really the small details that pull the color palette together. Anywhere that sells this much gluten is good in my book (although I may have to make revisions to said book as I just found out I am in fact allergic to gluten, which has been absolutely devastating). Excellent font selection; a serif font on the menu boards? Extraordinary. Handwriting-style cursive on the coffee sleeves and t-shirts? Revolutionary. Side note: what do you call the cardboard sleeve that insulates your hands from a hot drink? Google gives these options: coffee cup sleeves, coffee sleeves, coffee clutches, coffee cozies, hot cup jackets, paper zarfs, coffee collars, and cup holders. If you call it a paper zarf, please contact me directly: I have questions. Coffee bar is a separate island in the room, ringed in lights and stained wood cabinetry with a sign hanging over it that says "COFFEE BAR". I want one in my home just like this. The whole bar. Industrial espresso maker included. Despite it being 97 degrees and humid outside, one woman walked in wearing purple fur-lined gloves. Bonus points for attracting classy clientele. Two walls are made of windows. Heck to the yes. Gimme all the light. The baristas are all stylish?? Do they have a massive group chat to coordinate their outfits every morning? An unspoken bandana understanding? Even the ones that have arrived since I've been here match the aesthetic flawlessly. Excellent hiring. Ceiling is a maze of pipes, vents, wiring, and beams, all painted white. Gives me factory vibes, but in a trendy way. Vanilla latte was delicious. No bitter aftertaste. Solid coffee, good sweetness level.

Tatte hits the spot every single time. I've never taken someone here who didn't love it. My all-time favorites are the avocado tartine and the muesli, but I've probably tried 1/4 of their extensive menu at this point and have enjoyed everything. The pastries are wonderful--I'd recommend the chocolate rose. What makes Tatte stand out to me is the healthy, well-rounded, yet absolutely delicious meal options they have for breakfast. The pricing is well worth it for the quality and portion they serve. All the Tatte locations I've been to have been consistent, which I appreciate.

Food is really good! I'm not a huge fan of the coffee, I'd rather pay that price for Starbucks because I know it'll be good. Pastries are unbelievable and worth the price! I loved the breakfast sandwich on a croissant & the chocolate croissant specifically.

Nice spot to sit indoors (Pre-COVID) and outside. Although the entrees and coffee we received were cold. Weird ordering and pick up lines/doors.

I went in today at around 3:00 for a late lunch and it was packed with mainly people on their laptops with empty drink containers. There were no seats available. One woman used 2 tables, one for her laptop, and the other for her tablet. Two friends, each with their own table, actually took off their sneakers and sat there glued to their laptops. What is going on? I really enjoy the food here, and would come here more often if more people were courteous and mindful of others. Perhaps, laptop owners can use the middle table or the counter space? It's really getting out of hand.

I like this Brookline location because there is plenty of indoor seating--that is, if you can find a seat. It shouldn't be so difficult to find a table for two at 4 PM on a Sunday, but nearly all of the tables along the window were occupied by one student at a table, working on his/her laptop, not any food or drink in sight. You probably don't want to lose this customer base, but what about the other people who would like something to eat and drink and are not going to take up a table for hours on end? There were only a few people eating/drinking at the communal table as well. You could impose a time limit at tables, but that would never be enforced. You could also have a designated area, perhaps the counter seats, for people working on their laptops. It's really discriminating against regular people who just want to enjoy a cafe for what it is--and not a place to work.
