The ambiance at Tatte was super cute. The dining area had a cozy, modern vibe and the pastry case was full of beautiful options. I really appreciated that the gluten-free items were clearly labeled, which made it easy to know what was safe for me to enjoy. That said, there were a few things that took away from the experience. The restroom setup was strange. There were about five single-person, unisex bathrooms, each with its own keypad lock. One was out of order, and while the others worked, the code was printed right on the lockbox, which made the keypads feel pretty pointless. More concerning was the smell. Strong and unpleasant urine smell. The bathrooms weren't visibly filthy, just a little messy, but the odor really ruined the vibe.
I ordered a white peach mint iced tea (or "cooler" as they call it), which sounded refreshing, but it was extremely sweet. That one's partly on me for not asking if it came sweetened, but I do wish the staff had clarified or offered a choice of sweeteners. I had to dilute it heavily with water to make it drinkable. It was also missing the fresh mint garnish. My friend ordered a cappuccino but didn't finish it. She had asked for stevia but they didn't have that so she chose honey as the next best option and that may have changed the taste. Lastly, the server who brought our drinks wasn't very friendly. No smile, no eye contact, just a generally off-putting attitude. It's not something that ruined the whole visit, but it definitely stood out. All in all, the bakery has potential, and I'd consider giving it another try especially for the pastries. But the bathroom situation, overly sweet drink, and lack of warmth from staff made this visit just okay.
