This place is absolutely stunning—like stepping right into a Pinterest dream café! ✨ With minimal crowds, it’s the perfect spot to slow down and truly enjoy every bite. Here’s what we ordered this time: • Shakshuka: A bit too watery this round—not quite as impressive as my last visit 😅 • Latte & Matcha Latte: Both solid choices for a cozy café moment • Cheese Boureka: Flaky pastry filled with cheese, brushed with bacon fat for that smoky, indulgent flavor—dangerously good! 🧀 For dessert: • Pistachio Cherry Tart: A little dry, and the cherry flavor was too subtle. Might’ve been better with blueberries or strawberries for a brighter pop. • Pear Tart: Surprisingly delightful! A poached half pear with just the right amount of crunch, nestled in a buttery tart crust—definitely recommend! 🍐 Looked it up while walking and turns out this spot is originally from Israel 🇮🇱—no wonder it has that unique Mediterranean-meets-American vibe! The whole aesthetic totally feels like it belongs in NYC already. Time to expand, please! 💥

One of the best bakeries to pop into for great coffee and amazing selection of bakery. The variety is what’s mind blowing, so many great and interesting choices. They have both savory and sweet things as well as other breakfast food they prepare. The two gentlemen sitting next to us were eating a shakshouka that looked and smelled delicious. The labneh pita was delightful. My friend didn’t care for her croissant as much. While fresh, she said she had better in smaller places. She expected this to be better. Matcha was superb, well made and not sweet like it ought to be. The ambiance is nice and it’s a very busy location. It’s bustling with locals and tourists; we heard French, German, and Portuguese spoken at nearby tables. Fun people watching spot. For a very busy spot the service is quite dialed in. Our food and drinks were provided within 5-7minutes. Staff is helpful and friendly. Go, linger, and enjoy your cafe time!

Google
This bakery was pretty good. It was very busy for a Saturday and the people there were on the rude side for my taste. The staff and servers were great and the food was tasty. The outdoor seating was nice but because of their location full of pigeons and birds. The price point is kind of high, just an fyi.

Google
Tatte Bakery and Café on the corner of New Hampshire and M St. NW is a great little spot to pop into if you’re craving coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or a delicious pastry, whether savory or sweet. The staff is always really friendly and welcoming, and the food is consistently fresh. There's plenty of space to dine in or grab something to go. I don’t stop by often, but whenever I do, I always have a great experience. They’re open every day from 7 AM to 8 PM, except on Sundays when they open from 8 AM to 7 PM. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Google
Tatte Bakery & Café in West End is a delightful spot with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Their menu offers a delicious blend of Israeli, Mediterranean, and European flavors, with beautifully crafted pastries and popular brunch options. The customer service stands out, with a friendly and welcoming staff that enhances the overall experience. While some visitors mention that prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance make it a wonderful place to enjoy a coffee, a meal, or a sweet treat. It's definitely worth a visit!

Google
Unfortunately had a miserable experience here. The manager and other workers did their best to turn it around, and i genuinely appreciate them. But the takeaway here is that the food was mediocre at best. The meals came with a gnarly store bread instead of the “sourdough” that was advertised. The replacement bread was still not their full sourdough that was sitting in the display window. The breakfast patties tasted like slimy frozen meat. The shakouka must have been sitting in the window for a long time (see picture). The biggie here is that after being extremely clear about my severe anaphylactic allergies, I ended up drinking a latte that had sesame paste in it (under a different name). They kindly refunded us entirely, but I was itchy and then stomach ill for the next 24 hours. It really set me back as I was visiting the city. The refund was nice, but really not enough given how much of a setback this was. :-/ it’s really lucky I stopped drinking early on, because if not I would have been in the emergency room. So yeah, although the space is really nice, given my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone. And be extremely careful if you have allergies!!!

Went at 10am on a Sunday and joined a long line waiting to order, but the interior design was so pretty! The pastries were SO delicious :) Would totally visit again when in DC visiting from TX!

Google
We came here because of the good Google reviews and unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The food is okay, but it's a little carelessly presented. The smoked salmon sandwich came on a plate, and the breakfast sandwich had a "break-yard buttered bread charm". The ambiance of this place is not really cozy, and it was very crowded and noisy. With many people probably coming in to work and blocking a table with their laptop and coffee, it was hard to get a seat. You can visit, but you don't have to.

Yelp
Such a cute little cafe! We stayed at the hotel around the corner and needed something quick for breakfast and this place had everything we needed. A great selection of baked goods, breads, croissants, and desserts and enough coffee options to keep you caffeinated for the day. The menu itself for cooked food looked delicious as well and had we had more time, we would have had a seat and ordered hot food. The prices all around were what you'd expect from a bakery like this and the hot food was not excessively priced (what i was honestly expecting but pleasantly surprised). If you're in the area looking for a quick bite or an afternoon snack, this place is it!

Yelp
Everything was amazing! Would strongly suggest coming here. Everything we ate was delicious and would order everything again!

Yelp
A spectacular array of pastries, breads and entrées! We really enjoyed their fresh-squeezed orange juice; the coffee program was also well-done. Tatte demonstrated a wider range than just breakfast when we stopped by mid-afternoon. Their braised short rib with roasted eggplant and couscous really hit the spot---lots of great flavors and such a hearty portion! We enjoyed Tatte enough to visit twice during our short weekend visit to DC. We received quality food and pleasant, if slightly ditzy, service. They charge bougie prices, but those are merited by the food and ambience.

Yelp
I tried their labne for the first time and it was really good, very thick like a creamy emotion of Greek yogurt. The yogurt itself was unsweetened, but with the granola and the peaches it was really very good.

Yelp
It's a bit crowded but that's expected because it's a pretty well known chain in a metropolitan center. The vibes a great tho, and it's remincient of a European cafe with a more robust sit down menu. It's offering something pretty artisanal compared to other chain cafes in the area

Yelp
What a cute coffee shop! Stumbled upon this place while in DC and had a super yummy chai latte. The baristas were so friendly and helpful with what to order as well.

Yelp
Tatte is a charming bakery and coffee shop that captured our hearts as one of the first places we visited for breakfast and coffee upon our arrival in DC. Welcomed by a delightful young person behind the counter, we were immediately drawn in by her engaging demeanor. She took the time to inquire about us, whether it was our first visit and if we were familiar with DC, while explaining how the menu operated. Tempted by the offerings, we proceeded to order our breakfast. At the counter, we were met by a kind older gentleman who recommended the croissant egg sandwich as his favorite menu item. We ordered two - one loaded with everything including sausage and one plain with sausage, egg, and cheese only. Curious about their lattes, I asked about special flavors or syrups and learned they offered hazelnut, vanilla, and another flavor that slipped my mind. Opting for a hazelnut latte, I couldn't help but notice the specialty lattes listed at the coffee counter, regretting my choice and yearning for something more adventurous. Deciding to change my order, I approached the coffee counter where the barista graciously accommodated my request, providing both the hazelnut latte and the specialty latte I desired. While the breakfast proved fresh and delicious, the lattes were average, but the inviting atmosphere more than made up for it. A great overall experience that left us eager to return.

Yelp
Discovered Tatte in Boston and was ecstatic to find there were several in DC! This location was a few minutes from the hotel and went there every morning during my stay! If a coffee shop can get a basic latte right - it's a good thing! There's an assortment of delicious pastries to choose from as well as breakfast and brunch. It does get crowded but the lines move quickly and our baristas were friendly! You line up, grab a menu and then place your order. You pick up your coffee at the barista section. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe is more catching up friends over the weekend or business meeting instead of a quiet place to work or study. They offer an assortment of milk choices for your coffee.

Yelp
(Overall: B) - Tatte Bakery is a cute and large cafe that gives students at the nearby university a peaceful way to study while grabbing a tasty bite. Their menu has an interesting assortment of items that look pretty and taste reasonable and I would've definitely been thrilled to have a similar place at my university. (Lemon Meringue: A) - A beautiful personal sized tart with a golden sheen of well torched meringue followed by an acidic lemon curd. The extreme sweetness of the meringue balances with the acidic forward curd, which has some reprieve coming from that slightly salted tart shell. Overall, well made pastry, although I would have preferred more slightly restraint flavors. (Passionfruit Tart: C) - This is a passionfruit based treat topped with a white chocolate shell, which I found rather overpowering with respect to the delicate fruitiness. The cookie on the bottom added some repreieve, but I still found myself chugging water. -- Food: E Presentation: +1 Price: E Atmosphere: +1 Service: E Menu: +1 Overall: +3 B Insta/Beli: @amei_eats

Yelp
Service was terrible. Waited 30 minutes for 2 simple sandwiches. When I went to see what was going on food manager got really upset and said "in that case will get you a refund". He then marched off to issue refund. No apology. Did not want to give us our sandwiches. Kind of "if you're not happy at waiting 30 minutes (and still no sandwich), get out of here. Dreadful

Yelp
It's a great DC/Boston bakery chain with fun coffee options and delicious food but the service here was very hit and miss. With the misses leaving a really sour taste in our mouths. It's kind of a seat yourself kind of restaurant and on this Saturday morning there were some empty tables but it filled up pretty quick. Breakfast croissant Quiche: Get both of these! They were so amazing being so fluffy, crispy, and fresh. Highly recommend these two for a nice breakfast or brunch to start your day Tatte Latte: Skip This was just okay and it was a fun interesting spin on a normal latte but not necessarily any better Service: Weird The server was acting very pretentious and aloof while we were ordering which made us feel very uncomfortable. Food: 8/10 Service: 3/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Value: 6/10

Yelp
Visited 8/1/24. Who doesn't love a good breakfast sandwich? Got the egg cheese and bacon on sourdough and an iced coffee. They moved through the line at the counter quickly and I waited less than 10 minutes to get my food. The sandwich was delicious with the highlight being that really good sourdough. Such great chew to it. Would definitely recommend visiting Tatte as a quick breakfast stop in before a day of activities or as a cute place to stop in for coffee.

Yelp
Every time I visit DC Tatte is always the first place I go and I love that they now have so many locations! I first started going here just for coffee, which is amazing, but I started seeing food come out of the kitchen that looked insanely good! Now every time I go I have to get a coffee and something to eat, everything I have tried has been delicious! If you're ever in DC this place should always be on your list of places to go!

Yelp
I have been a couple times now. The prices seem pretty reasonable for the products, and there is an abundance of options to chose from! A really nice bakery, coffee shop and overall nice place to sit. It's clean, mostly quiet, and feels open and airy. I've haven't yet waited much longer than 2-3 minutes to be served, and the staff is 2/2 in recommendations. Both the desserts that I have gotten were really good. The Pavlova and the Meringue were delicious. Neither was overly sweet, and yet unquestionably quenched my sweet tooth. They both had a distinct flavor and now makes every visit a little harder when it comes time to choose. Definitely worth a visit, whether you decide to sit in or grab and go.

Yelp
Wonderful and beautiful food! I went here 3 times on my visit to DC! LOL! The service was great and the food is delicious and gorgeous. The restaurant is beautiful and we enjoyed the outdoor seating. Be prepared to have a few little bird friends if you eat outside! They hop all around looking for crumbs and land on the unoccupied chair backs and bushes. If you give them a few crumbs, you'll have a lot more feathered friends show up for the party! But, they are cute and don't seem to jump on the tables or try to steal your food.

Yelp
Tatte is work adjacent, so I'm blessed to have my morning triple cappuccino before work! The pastries here are European standards, the batista incredible, and the food (sandwiches, soups, and salads) incredibly. Use their top play your order online for pick up,it's quick and efficient. The ambiance gets busy during lunchtime, as one would imagine.
google avatar

Linda O.

Yelp
Has a lovely interior and is always packed; seating can be challenging, so I usually get mine to-go. The croissants are too hard for me, perhaps not pulled enough or overbaked. The brownie is attractive, and I enjoy the superior-quality walnuts on top, but the flavor is average. Their gluten free oatmeal cookie is both large and chewy however there's some kind of spice thing going on with it that's somewhat overbearing--but do appreciate that Tatte offers this gluten free option. The counter staff is professional, if a little stiff.

Yelp
Try: Smoked Salmon, Avocado, and Egg Sandwich and Iced Honey Halva Latte! Why: The sandwich was large, fresh, and filling. Loved the buttery eggs and the sprouts! Bread was ok but everything in the middle was delicious and it was packed with salmon and eggs. Also enjoyed washing down the sandwich with an Iced Honey Halva Latte. Note: Spacious bakery with many indoor table and bar seating. They also had outdoor seating. Clean place with a few bathrooms. Workers were nice and after I picked up coffee from barista, my sandwich was brought over to my table. Server was friendly. Pastries all looked wonderful on display - will need to come back and try. I also want to try their Pistachio Latte next time.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of DC, this cozy bakery has become my go-to spot for a lazy weekend breakfast. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly baked goods welcomes you, setting the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed morning. There are multiple location in the area and this is one of the less busy one. The highlight for me is definitely the baked items. Croissants, chocolate snail, buttermilk biscuits, pistachio Croissants, monkey bread, feta scones, almond scones. It's nothing too fancy, but it's consistently good and pairs perfectly with their delicious breakfast options. Speaking of which, they have a variety of choices to satisfy any craving, whether you're in the mood for something sweet or savory. My favorites are Egg in a hole, croissants breakfast sandwich, croque madame, French toast - savory. Greek yogurt and pear jam that comes with Greek style pancakes is delicious. The only downside is that it can get really busy on weekends, so be prepared to wait for a table. Either go early around 10 or ask your partner/friend to find a table while you are in ordering line. However, the wait is always worth it once you take that first sip of coffee and bite into one of their tasty pastries. So many options to choose from and Halva bomb is really good. Overall, if you're looking for a charming bakery with decent coffee and good breakfast options, this place is definitely worth a visit. Just make sure to arrive early to beat the crowds! There's street parking available, again if you are early. If not, just be ready to walk couple of minutes from adjacent parking lots.

Yelp
Tatte (pronounced Taa-tay) is a brunch paradise with absolutely drooling sweet & savory delicacies mesmerizing you the moment you walk in. This place is wide and buzzy with the service being a daily challenge. You wait in line & place your order, then take your number card to a competitive table and waiters bring your hot order to you.( imaginably after scouting the whole place) Must try items- House latte with honey halva & cardamom, Oat milk Mocha, Tomato Mozzarella Pesto Flatbread, Apricot pistachio cake, Tea cakes, and Pavlova. Shakshuka looks nice & filling but tasted average. So did the chocolate sandwich cookie. Don't forget to clean up your mess on the table after your indulgence! & Tatte management- please open up your next location in NYC!

Yelp
Tatte is always a win for me. Came here for breakfast with the family and I don't think I've ever hated anything I've tried. Had an iced vanilla latte and a smoked salmon sandwich. Be prepared to wait a bit for coffee when they're busy but I didn't mind. The sandwich was great and I also ate some shakshuka which is always my fave to get. It does get busy but there's plenty of seat here.

Yelp
Since this was our first visit, we entered the cafe and stood back to determine how the process worked. Because we were dining in, the flow was initially unclear. The place was crowded and all seating appeared to be filled to capacity, so we approached the counter to obtain more clarity about ordering, seating, etc. The menu was located at the counter. For dining in, you have to take a number and place it on the table that you choose based on availability. It took about ten minutes to find a place to sit. We ordered the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, avocado and arugula and matcha lattes. However, when the order arrived, it was a toasted sandwich on what appeared to be multigrain bread with scrambled eggs and melted cheese. The mistake was corrected quickly and without a problem. The actual sandwich arrived on one of the most buttery, flaky croissants that I have ever tasted. The eggs were perfectly scrambled and the blend of flavors down to the arugula was a good mixture. The matcha was very fresh and without sugar. It was the perfect pairing with the very rich breakfast sandwich. The cafe was brightly lit with both natural and indoor lighting. The design was open concept. There must have been available wifi because numerous people were working on their laptops and eating. It was a constant flow of customers. The parking was pretty good for DC. We parked directly in front of the cafe.
google avatar

Niqua L.

Yelp
Although this is the most basic breakfast I've ever had it was good and a lot of people were staring lol. This place is very popular and gets crowded fast so go early.
google avatar

Dale D.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning at 1pm - was nearly impossible to find a spot to accommodate 4 friends + 1 stroller. We had to hover near a long table (the only large table) until people finally got off their laptops and left. Make sure to ask for the full drink menu, there's a huddle menu on the wall opposite of the register, which is really easy to miss. The service was grouchy!!! They had a lot of attitude and were not helpful at the register. They had minimal patience even and do not respond well to questions. The lamb kebab plate 2/5: lamb was so dry and everything was cold and bland. Baba ganouch was the best part. Pita was doughy and tasted like nothing. Lamb hash: 5/5 delicious and IMO the only thing on the menu worth ordering. Black sesame latte 5/5

Yelp
Lol I have gotten more incorrect orders from tatte than correct. HIRE MORE STAFF, stop paying one person to do 5 people's job! Or pay people to do that accordingly not pennies so they will have the attention to detail. I do not blame the staff I blame the hiring. Every tatte I go to is a mad house employees fighting for their lives to get orders out to entitled finance bros. Get it together pay people.

Yelp
Decent pastries and desserts, but really expensive for small pastry sizes. The baristas were super nice though! It's a great window to look out of!
google avatar

Lilee N.

Yelp
The line is very long in the morning but it moves quickly. You can grab your pastry and then order a beverage at checkout. They also have plates for dine in and take out. I loved the original Tatte in Brookline so when I saw it was in DC, I made that mile trek to get the almond croissant of my dreams. The memories flood back in as my taste buds sing! Wasn't a fan of the pistachio croissant but if you like salty and a bit sweeter, go for it. It's not bad, just not my jam. Didn't have time for their epic Shashuka but if you come, get it. You won't regret it.
google avatar

Yelp
This cute little place near our hotel has so much to look forward to. It's adorable, the food is visually appealing as well as delicious. We walked into the place because of the amount of people coming and going and we were not left disappointed! Make your way to the back of the line after grabbing a menu; you can order to go, or dine-in. They'll give you a little number and it's self-seating (both inside and outside). We ordered the lamb hash, and a croissant sandwich with some cappuccinos for breakfast, followed by a berry topped cheesecake (one of MANY, MANY bakery items that's made fresh daily, it was so hard to choose). Definitely add this place to your places to eat when in Washington, D.C.!

Yelp
We just stopped in for some pastries and coffee and this place did not disappoint. Great food, atmosphere and location.

Yelp
I woke up early to get breakfast at Tatte before my first meeting and it did not disappoint. I would go back to DC just to eat more Tatte delights. I actually ended up going back many times during my short trip. I got the lamb hash, a chocolate croissant, and a black sesame latte on my first visit. All were amazing. I went back the next day and had the smoked salmon and avocado tartine, an almond croissant, and the tumeric and honey latte. The tartine and croissant were delicious. The tumeric latte was an acquired taste but I didn't regret trying it. I was so impressed I was forced to go back for a pistachio latte and a pistachio croissant later that day. I was amazed by the quick and efficient service, the friendliness of the staff despite the gobs of people coming in and out, and the consistent quality of the food.
google avatar

Penelope M.

Yelp
Beautiful setting, beautiful pastries and truly delicious! We ordered to go after a lunch a few steps away. Apologies for not taking pictures. My favourite was the Almond Croissant. Um-um-mm. The Chocolate Coconut Meringue Cloud was such a treat, too and the Cinnamon & Pecan Rose was loved by my husband. The coffee was robust with a nutty aftertaste. They Must branch out to tri-state area, because life Is short.

Yelp
I love that Tatte is expanding to the dmv area. It gets very crowded on weekends. We got their Kouign-amann, multi grain bread, smoked salmon avocado and egg sandwich, and iced pistachio latte. I recommend their breakfast sandwich and multigrain bread. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and the challah roll it's on is light and fluffy. The iced pistachio latte has grinder up pieces of pistachio and it was good, but not enough pistachio flavor. There's tons of indoor and outdoor seating but it might be hard to find seating on a busy weekend. Service was great.

Yelp
This is the second Dupont Tatte, and I've already been to it a couple of times (it is at 22 & M). It has a spacious outside area, which I unfortunately could not take advantage of today given the rainy day it's been. So instead I was hunkered down in the (for me too air-conditioned) interior. As other Tattes, the space is wide, white-tiled, high-ceilinged, and has an airy vibe, with many workers buzzing about, efficiently dropping off orders at the pretty little round marble tables or picking up used dishes. I feel very comfortable here, it has a mix of young(ish) folks with their computers, and socialising groups of two, three and four. Not only their cappuccino is really tasty, but even their drip coffee (both of which I had today). Though a chain, it remains a very pleasant one that I'll keep coming to for a reliably good experience.

Yelp
While visiting DC I was so glad to find out there were several Tatte's Bakery's. I ate at one in Boston last year and was excited to try it again! It was quite a busy Sunday morning but there is plenty of seating inside and outside. Staff is super kind and helpful. Decor is nice and as mentioned it's very spacious. We ordered an iced latte, two egg avocado and cheese croissant breakfast sandwiches, and a tart and some little Nutella cookies. Everything was delicious! A really good menu with various all day options. I'm especially a fan of their breakfast/brunch options. Food is fresh and delicious!

Yelp
Love love love Tatte! A delicious take on some middle eastern classics. Get the shakshuka, the pastries and a delicious latte! So yummy!

Yelp
I've been to a Tatte in DC and Boston and enjoy it every time! My daughter and I ate breakfast here 3 mornings during my visit! It's conveniently located near the hotel I was staying. I forgot to take a photo of the London Fog tea with oat milk. It's always busy but the service is pretty quick and they seem to be centrally located.

Yelp
Great for quick bites! I'm from the Bay Area (CA) so I thought the prices were really cheap! The lines can get really long but it goes very quickly. The pastries can be heated per request and for items off the menu, they'll bring your order to your table. Because of the bakery's popularity, it can be difficult to find seating. I highly recommend trying the shakshuka and kouign amann.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning experience when I came in yesterday in search of a power outlet and something to spike my blood sugar. A friend from GWU recommended this spot, assuring me that it was the perfect spot for getting work done, but I was dubious when I saw the line. I decided to wait in line--even if I wouldn't get an outlet, I'd still get a delicious little pastry and cafe latte! The line of 10+ was shockingly quick, and to my surprise there was an entire bar row studded with outlets! The baristas were super friendly and suggested a spot opposite of the counter. The outlets were very efficient and resurrected my phone. I started sketching the café, and a girl pulled into the seat next to me and asked me about the little doodle. Two hours later, we had each others Instagrams and practically knew each other's life story. Tatte does a phenomenal job of creating a crossroads for people from all walks of life. They've achieved what many other chains have attempted to accomplish with establishing the "third place", and I will absolutely be returning again.

Yelp
Bustling cafe with friendly service and great coffee! I was recently in Foggy Bottom for 6 weeks for work and Tatte was one of my go-to spots. Amazing coffee, tea, and brunch. They have a great gluten-friendly menu with lots of breakfast/lunch options and a few gf pastries as well. Tatte is very spacious with high ceilings and large windows. It is often pretty busy so it can be hard to find a seat and it can get a little loud so I recommend going during non-peak hours.

Yelp
Amazing food! Real good pastry and the place is just beautiful. I'm so happy I tried it based on Yelp reviews. Anytime I go back to DC I'm stopping by now! Even my kids loved it and we took some cakes and pastry to go

Yelp
This cafe is just beautiful from the outside. We came in from lunch at 12:30, no seats. We ended up seating outside which I highly do not recommend the birds are gross and are everywhere due to the lack of cleaning of plates from the service of the restaurant being so busy. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. The chicken salad is my favorite thing, along with the chocolate croissants, and London Fog Latte. The staff is all so friendly but they are SO busy!

Yelp
Tatte is always incredible. Recently visited the west end location and it was a total mess service wise but I think it was just one of those days for the employees. Food was delicious and the environment is always decadent.

Yelp
Don't be intimidated by the long line - it moves fast. My bf ordered the lamb hash, I got the salmon, avocado, and egg sandwich, and we shared a turmeric honey latte. The lamb could have used a bit more seasoning but the dish was excellent overall. My sandwich was probably one of the best I've ever had! Croissant is fresh and fluffy and I really liked the alfalfa to balance out the saltiness. The tomato salad from the lamb hash also paired well with the sandwich. And I liked how the latte was not too sweet. It's too bad there isn't a Tatte in Miami. I'd be there every day!

Yelp
My friends and I were browsing for a spot to have brunch last weekend when we came across this place. Reviews were solid on Yelp. So we decided to get brunch around 11 am. Line was long but went fast. They have multiple people at the counter taking our orders. Menu was impressive. It's a fusion between French, American and North African cuisine. They had one of my favorite ones "Shakshuka". I was tempted to have it, but I then saw the lamb varieties. Never seen so many great lamb dishes for brunch. I ordered lamb hash which come with sautéed sweet potatoes and home fries and topped with poached egg. Pickled veggies was so good as well. Absolutely loved it. They have some indoor and outdoor seating. Nice ambiance. Since it was a nice day, we decided to sit outside. Service was great as well. If you live in DC, I don't recommend driving to this area. Parking could be difficult to find. They have bike share right across the street. I am looking forward to going back again.

Yelp
Tatte is a really solid café. There are a few centrally located throughout DC so it makes finding a really nice place to work easy. I think my favorite part about Tatte is the ambience and atmosphere. It has a very clean, airy, light vibe. It's not dark and dreary, it makes doing work there very inviting. I wish tatte's food was better. It's not that it's bad, it's just pretty average. I've gotten a few different things from here: I got shakshuka which is supposed to be what they are famous for but I found it really eggy. I've got their avocado BLT - that was pretty decent just lacking in flavor a little. Their halloumi salad is a solid option. And all the pastries and coffee are actually great- get a pistachio croissant or their cheesecake jar. That's why I wouldn't really classify This place as a lunch spot but more of a café/coffee shop.

Yelp
the cutest bakery!! beautiful place. super busy and popular but it's manageable to get a table to sit down at after ordering at the front. there's fresh bread and also brunch foods. I got the french toast and it doesn't taste very traditional so just be mindful. great aesthetic place though :")

Yelp
I think Tatte is must go-to spot when you visit to DC. I love their bread and all their menu! They are perfect spots for having a brunch. You can find it easily near your current location since it has several different spots in DC. Even though this spot was very crowded, so that it wasn't a good place if you are looking for some calm place, but I still enjoyed it.

Yelp
Good enough to make me dine in twice in my compact, short trip to Washington DC. I ate one lunch in this branch of Tatte Bakery & Cafe. Up to now, I have tried their smoked salmon sandwhich, museli, labneh, roasted peach granola labneh, and summer vegetable lasagna which is a seasonal special. The serving sizes were pretty good -- an entree plus some side (e.g., the labneh) would be just enough for one. All the dishes were delicious and looked appealing. I enjoyed the museli and summer vegetable lasagna most. The museli was topped with plenty of fresh fruit and honey. The lasagna was very freshing as well -- it used corn cream sauce instead of some traditional pasta sauces like bolognese; and this dish was packed with veggie! Besides, I really like the decor and vibe of this bakery -- modern, bright, clean, plenty of outdoor seats (but there could be lots of ppl as well). Service was not super quick but not slow either. Another interesting thing is that you need to input a password to get into the restroom. In short, this is a great place that I will definitely re-visit next time I come to Washington!!

Yelp
I got an eggs benedict on a croissant and a London fog for dinner. I enjoyed my food, although I found the Hollandaise sause to be a little lacking in flavor. My London fog was also on the sweeter side and didn't taste as much like the earl grey tea. I also tried the fruit tart that my friend got and the crust was very hard and not that good. It may have been gluten free which could've been why the taste wasn't quite there.
