The food served was authentic South Indian cuisine, and everything was fresh and flavorful. Some of the dishes truly felt like home, and the snacks were exceptional. The service was top-notch throughout our visit. The owner personally checked in to ensure we enjoyed the food and was genuinely open to feedback, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic South Indian food and warm hospitality.

There are so many Indian restaurants in Richmond area but we could not find a single rstaurant who serves good south Indian thali or south Indian food in general. We tasted Tava south Indian thali more than couple of times now and I should say that the quality and taste is top notch. It took me back to meals I had in Chennai. It has that authentic taste and I will definitely recommend it to anyone who craves south Indian food.

Really like this restaurant! As a big Indian food person I enjoy a lot of the basic items like samosa's and other but Tava also has a lot of unique dishes which were also very good. As will all Indian restaurants there are a lot of vegetarian options and also a lot of healthy options. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the service and staff were very helpful and friendly. Great addition to the Short Pump area. Parking is easy and there is also a nice bar and plenty of comfortable booths and seating. You will love this place!

We recently celebrated our son’s birthday party and had a wonderful experience! The staff were incredibly cooperative and friendly, ensuring everything went smoothly. Everyone loved the food—it was absolutely top-tier. We highly recommend this place if you’re planning an event. Go for it!

We had a wonderful lunch buffet today with our group of nine, and everything was absolutely delicious! The variety of dishes was impressive, offering true, authentic Indian flavors with just the right amount of spice. Our favorites were the flavorful chicken soup, the perfectly cooked goat dum biryani, and the refreshing fruit salad dessert. Omkar and Vijay were courteous as always, checking in multiple times to ensure everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. If you’re looking for genuine Indian cuisine and great service, I highly recommend this restaurant!

I visited this restaurant today and had an exceptional dining experience. The food was really good, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere added to the enjoyment of our meal. We ordered chicken dum biryani, fried rice, Chinese bhel (a dish I had never tried before but turned out to be delicious), and cut Mirchi and also ordered schezwan chicken which was soggy we didn’t like it much Every other dish we tried was fantastic, and we loved every bite. This meal was totally worth every penny. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great dining experience!

Had dinner with my wife and we both loved the food. Great lil Indian place for some comfort Indian food. Service was terrific and they took good care of us even when we visited very late during closing time. We had the Madras Chicken curry and it was delicious. Cheese garlic naan was great. The Falooda was ok though. I highly recommend and will definitely visit again. One of the few better places in Richmond for Indian food.

Absolutely loved the experience! The live unlimited panipuri took me straight back to the streets of India. The mango sunrise mojito was perfect for summer, and the chicken fried rice tasted just like Indian street food. The service was excellent, super friendly and quick. The whole experience felt warm, welcoming, and full of flavour. I’ll definitely be coming back again — and bringing friends along next time. Highly recommended! 🙌🔥

Tried Tava Cuisine of India last night and it was delicious! We started with the Thursday night special, Tiffins, which was an array of items and choices - we chose the dosa, idly and bonda - which came with three sauces. So good! With so many flavorful choices, it was hard to pick our entrees. I couldn't wait to start eating once the food arrived, so the photo was taken after a few bites! Every bite was bursting with spicy goodness! We'll definitely be back!

Wow, I enjoyed my marsala dosa and puri chaat appetizer! Wednesday offers a biryani special but it sounded a bit much for me. The staff are very accommodating and brought me extra graham marsala and cilantro for the puri. Portions are generous and it looks like there maybe a lunch buffet as well as a Wednesday Thali special. Dishes not cleared and had to request chilled water refill very casual service. Plenty of parking in this strip mall. Enjoy!

Great food and friendly staff! This is our second in time here and the three of us enjoyed ourselves. My lamb vindaloo could have been spicier (I ordered Indian Hot...but since I am American not sure they had faith in me ), but very tasty! Drinks were good as well as the appetizers. We live close and will definitely be back!

I wanted to update my first review after exploring past more traditional dishes and now that the restaurant makeover is complete... The updated look and feel inside is modern and comfortable. Great bar and seating is spacious. I personally wish they didn't have the large TVs as it takes away from the upscale feel. Overall ambiance great! Since trying more traditional dishes I have ventured several different briyani and they are very good. The chicken 65 is a go to. It's a bit salty for me but love the chicken chunks and spices in this dish. My favorite briyani as far as the spice and flavor is nilgiri. Amazing taste but I didn't like the small bits of chicken still on the bone. It made this difficult to eat and really very little meat in the dish. Otherwise I would be back for this one again and again. Great food here and service has been good when eating in, carry out is generally on time and accurate. Unique and consistently delicious! Would definitely give this restaurant a try and explore the menu a bit. Enjoy!

My daughter and I just tried here after a neighboring business had too much of a wait for us. We were very impressed. Our service was wonderful, friendly and helpful. They were great at explaining some of the options we weren't familiar with and making suggestions even provided samples. The food was delicious and we enjoyed everything we tried. We look forward to returning. It was a great experience!

Visited Tava for lunch while on a business trip. The service was fast and easy and they even had a lunch Thali special. I ordered the vegetarian option which was served with Gobi Manchurian, Bagara Baigan, Bagara rice, white rice, sambar, butter naan and for dessert carrot halwa. Everything was delicious and it was nice to have some variety to try different dishes. If I was local to the area I definitely would visit again.

The tiki masala has great flavor and quality ingredients. I've only had takeout but the service is great. The ambiance is inviting, clean and well lite.

We visited this restaurant for evening Snacks and ordered 2 dishes. They were presented well and good portions for the price. Taste was amazing. The ambience and interior was very nice. Staff are very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. Overall very positive and pleasant experience. Highly recommend.

I was excited to try this new Indian restaurant but sadly was quite disappointed. They were open for dine in but really shouldn't have been. They are under construction and it was extremely dusty and noisy. They did not have actual plates or utensils, rather served my meal in plastic with paper plates and plastic utensils. I could get past this if the food was great but it absolutely was not. Everything was incredibly greasy. The spice level was good but it was hard to get past how greasy the food was. The bright spot was the server. While service was a bit slow, she was very kind and attentive. With several really great Indian restaurants in close proximity, I suspect this place won't last long.

The food was delicious and fresh. I had the lunch sampler and the flavors were amazing. Indian food is one of my favorites and this has to be the best Indian lunch I have ever had in the US. My husband enjoyed the lamb curry and wants to go back asap. Thank you Tava for such a delightful lunch

The best. Don't be sucked in to the high prices of Anika down the street, although I love Anika, this place is super awesome.

I ordered chicken saag which is my usual. The chicken was moist and delicious! A nice size portion and the garlic naan was also good! And a nice size. I did take out so I have no review on service but I ordered my food and when I picked it up it was good and hot.

Went for the lunch buffet on Friday. I tried almost every option on the buffet and they were all delicious. I especially loved the Manchurian. So few places have buffets anymore so this was a special treat. Bonus points for the large bottles of water on the table for self-service refills. It's a smaller place but very clean and friendly service.

This food was so delicious!!! I've been to a few Indian places in Richmond that I've enjoyed, but the food here has a flavor and depth that takes it to another level. Every item made me go "wow that was wonderful". Despite their current remodeling, the ambiance and service is good as well. I'm very excited for their grand opening, and will definitely visit again!

Delicious! We had two chicken dishes (madras and kanai) and a Lamb makhni. Also had pani puri and szezuan gobi. We loved it all. Medium spice was perfect for us (spice lovers but not crazy). We will go back for sure!

The chicken 65 was delicious and have unique taste. MUST TRY. The carrot halwa and pakkora aslo very good in tase with right consistency of oil/gee.

Best Indian restaurant in Short Pump. Fresh ingredients, great taste , great service and huge portions compared to the rest of the Indian restaurants in the area. My new go to place in Short Pump.
