Tava House Restaurant

Chicken was very well flavored and juicy. I appreciate they serve the plates in to go containers as it makes it easier when you don’t finish your food (it’s a big plate). They are super nice. It’s a low key, delicious establishment.

Excellent Armenian food. I tried the Jarko plate and it was fantastic - flavorful seasoning, juicy meat, and generous portions. The hummus that came with the platter was so good that that may have been my favorite thing of all.

Definitely a to go only restaurant. Food was ok. All of it served in the dinning room (not ordered to go) in plastic containers with tiny plastic utensils. It was very uncomfortable to eat this way. We were the only people in the dinning room. Should have been our sign to leave. The grilled chicken was the star! Marinated well, moist and delicious. Rice underneath was overcooked and salty. Braised short ribs were soft served over mashed potatoes both were bland. Slaw was delicious. Plain cucumber and tomato fresh and plain. Tziki was good with cucumber and herbs. Tolmas just ok. We also liked the hummus creamy and cold. The lavash was dry and slightly hard.

5/3/24: Had the braised short rib, 4.25*. Comes with mashed potatoes, salad, hummus, and lavash. Very good though pricy at $30. Also had the homemade yogurt drink with diced cucumber, whose slightly fermented taste I didn't love. I probably wouldn't order the drink again as I prefer the regular aryan.

Wow! Stunningly amazing, flavorful, authentic Armenian food, cooked to perfection! Perfectly flavored beef shwarma and beef lule kabob. If you haven't tried Tava House, you are missing out. Go! Eat! You will be back, over and over.

Ordered the lamb chops plate + an additional chicken luleh kebab for take out and everything was so good, tender, juicy and well-seasoned. We opted for mutabbal and beet salad as our sides (best mutabbal we’ve ever had and beet salad was very refreshing). This order was enough food for 2 hungry adults to share for dinner. I’d say the prices for the amount of food you get is very fair ($25 for lamb chops plate that comes with 2 sides and a base, plus $12 for the additional chicken luleh kebab). This is a local, small, family-owned business that definitely deserves more recognition for the quality of their food. Not only is the food good, they give generous portions, and the owner is very kind and helpful (she walked my partner through the entire menu when he was making an in-person order). Consider taking a break from the other more well-known Armenian restaurants in the area and give Tava House a try. Once you eat their food, you’ll probably have a new gold standard to go by for Armenian BBQ plates. Parking: there is a free parking lot shared with other businesses in the immediate area

If you are looking for a great home style food - don’t look any further. Don’t be discouraged by the fact that food served in to-go containers, you will love it from the first bite. The portions are generous but I have to confess I couldn’t sop eating until finished my meal (short ribs and mashed potato). Highly recommend!

Small hidden gem. Food was made fresh to order, tasty food an d the proprieter made her own house drinks in addition to the bottled drinks available. Very friendly owners.

Linely little spot in an otherwise empty business park. Stark interior with about 6 tables. The food was pretty tasty, and the service was fine. We both got a chicken Shawarma plate, and it wasn't what I'm used to, but flavors were good. I do wish it was a bit more protein and a lot less fries. Solid little spot.

Food was excellent, homemade and filling. The portions were generous. The place was empty; most people were over on Brand paying a fortune for a tablespoon of food. It's nice to know that a short drive away, there's wonderful Armenian food that will get you full and not break the bank. As a frequent guest Hyatt hotel, I will definitely be back.

In Glendale, there's a myriad of choices for Greek / Armenian cuisine. This place is great. Their lamp and pork belly (Iqibir) are my favorites.

It's a wonderful restaurant. Everything is at the highest level. Very tasty food , good prices , wonderful service . This place is amazing! I love bringing their mini shawarmas, which are just $3.99 each, to potlucks. They're perfect for last-minute people like me, absolutely delicious, and always a hit! That said, their full meals are even better--truly next level! Service is super sweet!

Was told Glendale has great Armenian food, so I found Tava House on Yelp. I decided on the Beef Shaurma wrap, and the staff encouraged me to try a traditional beverage of rose water. Everything tasted wonderful, and I highly recommend. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. I'll be back again to try more menu items.

We ate here for the first time last week and really enjoyed our time and the food! The woman, who I believe is the owner, was so sweet and kind. She was also very patient with us since we were a large party and were all over the place, ordering and getting f around all of us, she was so helpful! The food was very good, you can tell everything was very fresh! We will definitely visit here again!

I had the pleasure of coming here again, I have absolutely fallen in love with Armenian food for over 10 years I've been told that Armenian food is very similar to Persian food and it is especially with the condiments the dips the way they chop the salads their kebabs that way they marinate the meat however when you go away from the traditional entrées you will find that they have some incredible entrées and this place is not short of that. I absolutely love the decor, and the beautiful warm service from the mother and business owner of this restaurant. I exceptionally loved my yogurt drink which had a little pieces of cucumber and herbs in it. Cant wait to come back!!!

The beef kabob is always tasty. The hummus they make here is one of my faves. Also had the lamb, very flavorful. The meats here are always juicy.

Late night craving for Mediterranean... Found this on a whim.... The meats; hummus; rice; pita and salads are exquisite! Hummus fresh and tasty Rice - they don't hold back on the saffron - Armenian style was bomb af Chicken kabob so tasty grilled and marinade flavors! Chicken Shawarma and Fries Scramble - the surprise winner!!! Street food style Armenian delight... the toppings were original and unique!!! So tasty!!! Prices were reasonable ... Everything w tip $40 What more could I ask for ... Boxes to go and food for days... I'm surprised I've heard of this place first time today.... Let's GOOOO TAVA HOUSE!!!

We came upon this tiny little restaurant while on an errand. The owner, a sweet, tiny lady with a huge personality was helpful with our order. Her homemade Dolmas were absolutely delicious.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars my god this place is insanely good. Consistently pleased each time I eat here. Probably the only place I've yelp reviewed. Everything I've had has so much flavor and is cooked to perfection. So much variety in each dish. I plan on trying the whole menu slowly but surely.

We ate here today and it was amazing! It's a casual and very clean little place with BIG FLAVOR! We ordered the Chicken Lule Kabob and the Beef Lule Kabob plates. They were both generous in portion with delicious rice and a side salad included. We chose one with Avocado Quinoa salad and the other with tabbouleh. Such a generous portion that we both took home leftovers! Gigi is very friendly and her chef husband sure has some skills! Definitely returning here!

The food was so good! Prices are very reasonable for the food you get. The lady was very friendly that took our order. It's a small place inside but enough space for us to eat there. This is Armenian aka middle eastern type food rice, salad, hummus, kebab, shawarma and stuff like that is what you should expect.

I really hate to give bad reviews, but unfortunately, this was just not good. We got the chicken shawarma wrap and the beef gyro. Both were a little odd - lacking in flavor and strangely constructed. The woman working was also very unfriendly. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, and she was having a bad day? It's possible!

The food was delicious. First time trying tonight. Tender lamb chop plate. Rice on point. It's definitely a mom and pop shop, and I liked that. Will go again soon! I what to try their salmon plate. I'm interested.

I come here at least 2-3x a month. Their food is absolutely delicious! It's family owned and they are the nicest people ever! Their BBQ beef plate never misses! That is my go to every time I come here. I highly recommended coming here for some fresh food!

This place rightfully deserves 5 stars! It's a cute little place family owned business - friendly and nice to talk to. I ordered their wraps on two occasions and I loved it both times! I tried their beef stroganoff and xarsi xorovac chicken wrap. The wraps were saucy, delicious, and tender chicken. This was the first time that I ever tried a stroganoff so perhaps the reason why I didn't love it. The hummus and salad were top notch and the beef was made perfect. The place inside has a nice vibe and is quiet, not busy at all for dining in. And I like that. There's parking right outside shared by the other stores. I would definitely come here when I crave some good shawarma wraps!

I was craving lamb and this restaurant did not disappoint!!! Talk about a deal for three bone in lamb shawarma with sides for $20!!! I can't describe how delicious the lamb was- seasoned so well with authentic Mediterranean flavors. The meat was tender enough to cut through with a plastic fork haha. They gave me so much rice I had enough to eat the second half the next day. The salad was so fresh and the dressing was perfectly tart. The pita was so warm and fluffy. The only issue is that the plate is supposed to come with hummus but I guess they ran out because I got two salads. I wish I could've gotten some tzatziki sauce but I digress. Highly recommend this restaurant for your Mediterranean cravings in the Glendale area!!!

The BEST chicken wrap in all of Glendale, no comparison. Possibly the most delicious chicken and mutabel we've ever had. Definitely coming back to try other dishes.

Food is absolutely amazing and I mean it every thing on my plate was wonderful and pear soda also great. One of the best Mediterranean meals I have ever had. I had the Lamb chops and my wife had the chicken shawarma wrap a 10 star meal all the way. The service was outstanding and the decor was perfect. I will definitely be back many times over. There must be so many options for Armenian food in Glendale, but we decided to try Tava house when we were in the neighborhood. It did not disappoint. We had the BBQ chicken plate and the beef lule kabob plate. Both were excellent!

This is my first time having Armenian food and I must say, Tava House made it an exceptional experience. I ordered the lamb chop patter and it is delicious! The seasonings were unforgettably mind blowing! And the lamb was a perfect symphony of flavor and tenderness with every bite. I highly suggest you stop in. You will be glad you did.

How do you say butter in Armenian? Because that's exactly how these lamb chops melt in your mouth! I'm new to the area and am exploring the different cultures in Glendale via the cuisine. If Tava House is a reflection of the Armenian culture, then I need someone to adopt me! Not only is the food beyond amazing, but the kind and adorable couple that run this place are some of the sweetest folks I have met. I've been back to pick up food for my siblings and they are all now equally hooked. I'm trying to get my classmates addicted, as well. Thank you Tava House for some of the best lamb chops I've ever had! And my family thanks you too.

Came here tonight (on Saturday evening) around 6PM for takeout instead of going to Carousel like we usually do (after reading all the recent positive Yelp reviews about Tava House) and boy was it the best decision yet!! It was a slow Saturday evening when we came by since it was raining heavily, but the owner was there today to take my partner's in-person takeout order. As others have mentioned in previous reviews, this establishment is a local, small, family-owned business in Glendale. My partner described the owner as a very kind lady, and she helped him during the entire decision-making/ordering process. The food is made-to-order fresh, so it took about 15 minutes for our food to come out after the order was finalized. Parking: there is a free parking lot (shared with the other businesses) in the immediate area On to the food review for our lamb chop plate + chicken luleh kebab: - Lamb chops: Smoky, gamey, and crispy on the edges while retaining all the flavor and moisture in the middle. Beautifully done. My partner preferred the lamb chops from here over Raffi's. - Chicken luleh kebab: juicy, tender, thick and well-seasoned. My partner says he preferred this over the chicken luleh kebabs from Pacific Food Mart's morning bakery and Carousel's. - Mutabbal (side): creamy, very smokey, savory and had the right amount of acidity. This was probably the tastiest mutabbal we've ever had in Glendale. - Beet salad (side): they did not have their usual beet salad today (like the ones shown in the Yelp photos), but the one we had today was still pretty darn good. It had beet cubes, arugula, and feta cheese. A good refreshing side to go with the rest of our plate. - Rice: well-seasoned and there was plenty to go around for the two of us sharing this one order - Flat-bread (didn't have pita bread today): tasted fresh, has a good bite, and there was enough for the two of us to share for our order The lamb chop plate + chicken luleh kebab was delicious and it was a very satisfying amount of food for 2 people with dinner appetites. Price & Serving Size: Since we shared one BBQ plate order between 2 hungry people, we added the chicken luleh kebab to the lamb chop plate as an extra protein. However, their standard BBQ plate portion (that comes with just 1 protein) is PLENTY of food for 1 person. In fact, if we weren't both starving, I think we could've just shared the standard BBQ plate portion between the 2 of us. In short, Tava House has generous serving sizes for their BBQ plates, and their prices are quite fair for the amount of food you get. The price of the food at Tava House is average compared to other Armenian food establishments in the area, maybe even better since the portion size was very generous for our lamb chop plate, and Tava House definitely used good quality meat (yes, you can taste the difference in quality of the meat). At today's point in time, it had cost $25 for the lamb plate (comes with the rice and 2 sides) + $12 for the additional chicken luleh kebab. The owner noted that she had to raise the price of the lamb chop plate recently, due to supply costs. For $25, we thought it was definitely worth the money. However, for others who may not want to spend this amount, Tava House offers other protein choices are cheaper so please don't hesitate to try out the other proteins. In our humble opinion, the lamb chops and the chicken luleh kebabs were both equally succulent, satisfying, and delicious. At the time of writing this review, Tava House still seems to be a hidden gem in Glendale, but they absolutely deserve more recognition. Their food is delicious, the prices are fair, and the owner is a lovely person who takes the time to help you with any questions while ordering, and the kitchen staff take great care in preparing each order fresh (made to order). We had a great first experience here. Everything was delicious and honestly better than what we've tried from other more well-known establishments in the area. We'll definitely be repeat customers of Tava House going forward. If you've made it this far in my review, I implore you to go eat at Tava House. Their food is honestly too good to be passed up on. You won't regret it.

The food here is delicious! You can tell that it is home cooked and everything is fresh. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The beef gyro and chicken shawarma are to die for. All the plates were packed with flavor. We will definitely be returning.

Everything was delicious! I ordered the ribs plate with rice and salad. Plate came with 3 pieces of ribs. We also ordered a side of the potatoes and beef. The beef was tender and juicy. Food was ready in 15 minutes and their customer service was very good.

Wow!!! We stumbled upon this place because we were in the area. When we walked in we weren't sure what to expect but saw all the great reviews. The food was absolutely incredible. My boyfriend and I agreed it was one the best meals we have had in awhile. We got the spicy chicken plate and chicken Schwarma wrap. Both were soooo delicious and you could tell made to order. We easily could have shared either the wrap or plate since it's good size portions! Will definitely be returning!! The service was also very friendly :)

It was a very hot day and the Aircon was not up to the task, but the food more than made up for it. I am guessing they do mostly take out, but we had a large group of eight and they were happy to cook for us in a family style. We had a delicious tabouli salad, hummus, and kabob-style bbq chicken and beef with rice. The beef was fantastic and the chicken was incredibly juicy and tender. They both had amazing flavor - delicious!

This is my favorite Armenian place in Glendale! The food is always consistent and great quality! Def bang for your buck and better than a lot of well known places in Glendale.

OMG. My new FAVORITE spot in Glendale. I'm very picky over freshness and quality of meats at spots I go to, which usually doesn't leave me with too many solid go to spots that taste great. Just came across Tava the week and have already gone two days in a row. Not only is it a family owner spot (you'll get lots of kindness and so much attention to quality.) can't recommend the short ribs and the lamb chops enough. Mind blowingly tender and so tasty. The cabbage style salad and all the veggies sides are equally fresh and delicious. I think we commented atleast 10 times while eating our meal how dang good it was.
