Atmosphere The Tavern boasts a warm, inviting atmosphere that strikes a perfect balance between casual and classy. The rustic decor combined with friendly staff creates a welcoming environment that makes you feel right at home. Food Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the salad, and it was absolutely amazing! The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The combination of flavors was perfectly balanced, with crisp greens, vibrant vegetables, and a delightful dressing that tied it all together. It was one of the best salads I've ever had. Service The service was top-notch. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Overall If you're in Fort Worth and looking for a place that offers delicious food in a fantastic setting, I highly recommend The Tavern. Don’t miss out on trying their salad—it's a standout dish that you won't regret!

Google
I wasn’t terribly impressed. Maybe it’s because I just got the burger, which was a decent burger, but as somewhat of a foodie, it felt more like I was just paying a premium for ambience. It was nice enough but really not a particularly special or memorable dining experience. I wouldn’t actively avoid eating there again, but I also wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there either.

Google
Lunch was simply amazing! The four of us were seated promptly and the service was amazing. We had; the spinach artichoke dip, cajun blackened ribeye, kids chicken tenders, fish tacos and a crispy chicken sandwich. All of it was excellent and more than enough portion. The french fires are seasoned perfectly. the ribeye was ordered medium rare and came out perfect and seasoned amazing without being spicy. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The fish tacos came on the pate and you assembled your own, all the fixings were there and delicious!!!

Google
Beautiful restaurant. Have been here previously for appetizers and drinks. We went for lunch; salmon was cooked excellently (I asked for medium rare) had an amazing sauce and accompaniments. Portion was large enough to share with a green bean side. Very attentive service, even though we wanted to sit outside on a cool July day and were the only ones out there. It is definitely a place we will frequent many more times.

Love this place. Super friendly staff and bar regulars. Food is definitely a must. Atmosphere is great. Prices are fair and Monday’s all day happy hour was a great surprise.

Google
Visited the restaurant a second time on a Wednesday night and it was a much better experience! I did not realize there aren’t many restaurants in the area opened until ten and glad this one was! Our waitress Alexis was very attentive! The sushi grade tuna salad and the fish of the day were both fresh tasting and delicious! I truly enjoyed the many flavors in the tuna salad, which included a tropical flare. We indulged in their blueberry bread pudding! Well balanced with the lemon custard!

Google
This is a really great place for a good meal. Cool atmosphere, with great service and delicious food. We started out with some deviled eggs, which were very good. I had the filet and Enchilada which was very good. I took off one star for the filet being a bit fatty. The Enchilada was amazing, great flavor, tender chicken, and the sauce was delicious. My coworker had the double cut pork chop, and it was delicious as well, juicy and tender. Overall very good and would come back again.

Aric K.

Google
Absolutely fantastic experience! Best grilled chicken sandwich I’ve had in a long time—and the gluten-free bun was a huge plus. My wife’s brisket enchilada was absolutely amazing, and the deviled eggs we had as an appetizer were spot-on. I also have to say, it was one of the best Old Fashioneds I’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be back every time we’re in Texas visiting!

Yelp
Food and atmosphere were amazing for our brunch following Susan G Koman Walk for Breast Cancer! A little pricey but taste was GREAT!

Yelp
Really love this place, but beware of queso. It's pimento cheese and the in person menu doesn't say that it isn't traditional queso. We go for lunch usually for work and are quickly seated. The meatloaf is a favorite. The cornbread appetizer is always a hit with our group. Definitely will go back to try more.

Yelp
Food is great, we love the queso Americano and Guacamole for starters. I've tried their deviled eggs and it was just okay for me. I like their Zuni chicken salad but the chicken was a bit dry. I love the Japanese salmon. My husband likes the Mexico City brisket enchiladas. He's also had the steak tacos, though it was tasty the meat was tough. Service is impeccable, very attentive. Ambiance is classy and cozy at the same time.
google avatar

Tonya K.

Yelp
Had lunch with some friend and was happy with the relaxed environment of this stylish but casual place. My Zuni Chicken salad was fresh with perfect amount of textural crunch from apples and nuts. Good amount of chicken and bacon for protein and flavor with unique bacon vinaigrette as a bonus. Served was attentive and informative. My friend's enchiladas were a good portion with delicious flavor. Menu is full of variety with a nice cocktail, bar menu. Another Fort Worth staple that keeps proving its worth.

Yelp
we had one of our worst experiences ever at the Tavern. Worst service ever. Won't go back. Hostess was overwhed, disorganized and rude.

Yelp
I've been a couple times and the service is very attentive with drinks being pretty good and ambience is pleasing, but the food tends to be hit or miss. Depending on the item and the day that I've visited, I've tried amazing food items like their fries (which technically isn't a meal) to a meal I've been pretty disappointed in (fish tacos - a literal block of fish in a tortilla). I think I've given them enough chances to wow me and would probably only go back if it wasn't of my own volition.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was amazing. The prices are high but worth it. The service was excellent, we sat at the bar. I absolutely love the ambiance of the restaurant. Can't wait to go again.

Yelp
Came in for lunch. The wait would have been about 30 minutes so we sat at the bar. Service was good- personable without being in the middle of your business. I did sit for a while with an empty glass while the woman next to me had hers topped off before it was halfway empty. (There was only 4-6 people at the bar with two bartenders) Buuuut it happens. They recommended the fish of the day- striped bass with crab over some tasty mashed potatoes. I do wish the spinach was a tad more wilted, but all around it hit the spot- I would definitely recommend it. A little pricey though!

Yelp
Love the vibe and decor in this new spot I tried. The staff was welcoming for sure. We ordered chicken tenders & fries, Fried Chicken Salad and the bbq sandwich. Portion if the sandwich was a bit small, totally get it. More of a drinking spot instead of restaurant experience. Tenders were great.

Yelp
I can't believe I'm just discovering this spot. I shop at trader Joe's frequently and never paid any attention to the surrounding restaurants. What an amazing little gem. We went on a Sunday and the restaurant was busy. Our server Luis was awesome. He made a couple suggestions and they were all exceptional. We had the oysters Rockefeller and the deviled eggs. Both were 5 star. I had the crab cake salad. The crab cake had jumbo lump meat and no filler. All meat. It was one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. My husband had a filet snd enchilada and my bonus daughter had a grilled chicken salad. Everyone cleaned their plates. For my cocktail I started with a Bloody Mary. Great flavor but too much black pepper for me. Luis suggested a cocktail called the jam. It was exceptional! Bourbon, strawberry jam and sweet & sour. We will definitely go back on our next trader Joe run.

Yelp
If you've seen my previous reviews you know I am a big fan of Tavern. I rarely eat a sandwich or burger, etc. because ... bread... Carbs. LOL. But I love bread, sammies, and burgers of any and every sort. Today because I was particularly hungry I was weak and opted for the French Dip. LOL. I love French Dips. This was good, but not up to what I would have expected from Tavern. I loved the way in which it was sliced into three manageable sections (two of which went home!). What was missing for me was the robust, rich, beefy flavor I'm hoping for in a French Dip sandwich. I would love to see more cheese, more mayo and a much, much more robust and flavorful au jus. The flavors just did not sing. But I made a discovery that is going to prove problematic for me on future visits. The French fries. Damn. I cannot undiscover this. LOL. These this are so ridiculously, crazy good. Wow. Thin cut, crispy, perfectly seasoned. So good! Finish them while they're hot.

Yelp
Decided to dine in after a night of bocce at Clearfork. It had been a few years since I've dined in and decided to give it a try. Upon entering, we were quickly seated and greeted by our waiter for the evening, Luis. He was very welcoming and attended to us very well for the evening. We started with water and the fire roasted artichoke. Sooooo dang good and seasoned perfectly! Came with a dipping sauce that we didn't touch because it wasn't needed. (Sorry no pic) For entrees we both went with the special which consisted of grilled red snapper sitting atop a bed of mashed taters, topped with a butter sauce and 3 succulent shrimp, and a side of sautéed spinach. For dessert we tried the banana cream pie. Oh my gosh....HEAVEN on a plate! Overall I can't wait to return! The atmosphere was amazing and so were the service and food.

Yelp
Came into The Tavern and had a great dinner. The service was nice and our waiter was very attentive. I loved the decor and how it seems to have an upscale but still relaxed atmosphere. Started with the smoked salmon that came with a horseradish sauce that was fantastic! Our entrees were the Baja Fish tacos that had really good flavor and cooked very well. The Sonoma Steak Salad was cooked and the dressing had great flavor that went well with the steak. Finally we had the Texas Burger that had a , Canadian Bacon, BBQ sauce and pickled onions. This was the surprise of the evening and normally you see pickled onions on tacos. However on this burger it works and really made it pop. I loved this place and can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Tavern is one of our go-to spots already, but last night we had the most exceptional service we have ever had in this establishment. They accommodated us bringing our newborn by giving us a table with ample room for a stroller. The bartender came out from behind the bar to take our drink and appetizer orders while we waited for the table, and our waitstaff was quick, efficient and kind. Of course, our food was excellent. Highly recommend their daily fish specials, the ahi tuna salad and we always get the roasted artichokes as our app.

Taylor N.

Yelp
While the food is delicious and atmosphere nice the service is lacking. The bartender was doing double duty as our server. We had to ask for her a couple of times and almost got up and left during this long wait. There were plenty of staff and it was not crowded so we expected better. This was an expensive brunch for poor service.

Maggie I.

Yelp
The food and service weee excellent. We were there on a Thursday night and it was packed and incredibly noisy! Why don't restaurants put some kind of acoustic panels up to absorb some of the noise!

Durwood N.

Yelp
Really loved the food. Drinks similarly great. Service wasaaayyyy above average. Great concept and chicken

Alberta T.

Yelp
We ordered the guacamole and QUESO appetizer. What did they serve? A mound PIMENTO CHEESE instead of QUESO! We spoke to the manager who apologized (and nicely took it off our bill) saying "That's our take on Queso". I can see that happening outside of Texas, but in Fort Worth, crazy!

Faith C.

Yelp
Food was below par. French dip had no flavor and fries were so overwhelming salty. The service was fine, but when we came in I over heard and saw another server look my husband and I up and down, had a face of utter disgust tell the host that he wasn't going to serve us. It's very uncomfortable sitting and eating when you feel judged for how you dress ( mind you I was in my dress slacks and blouse for work and my husband in blue jeans and cowboy boots). It's really disappointing this restaurant is very beautiful and the food options are great, the experience just wasn't.

Yelp
Tavern is always a pretty predictable venue. I've reviewed before and whatever issues there were have been resolved. Still love the salmon app and deviled eggs. Amazing. Tanner took great care of the four of us on a business dinner tonight. Started at the bar with a larger group and then just us for dinner. Ribs, Redfish, Rigatoni and Miso Salmon.... Cocktails and a bottle of wine. Very nice evening. Check out the pics. All great food and drinks.

Yelp
Tavern is one of the best spots in FTW. Not too pricey and food is always great no matter what you get. Servers and bartenders are super friendly and on their A game. Management is also on the floor speaking to customers. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Rhett C.

Yelp
Service was great. Made a reservation. Ended up opting for bar seating. Drinks were on point. Bar tender was on point and checked on us regularly. Fun. Adult. Environment. Food was great, had the spinach artichoke dip. The shrimp cocktail, and the Japanese salmon. Then dessert (mud pie) came recommended from our fellows seated at the bar. Will def return! The food and drink was amazing. The service, outstanding!

Yelp
We waited over 40 minutes for our food, only for it to arrive cold. After another 15 minutes for a remake, one out of three meals was still cold. In a typical restaurant, a manager would offer to remake the dish again or provide an alternative. Unfortunately, the manager on duty (I didn't catch her name) was incredibly rude and unhelpful, failing to offer any further assistance. I chose not to eat, as I didn't want to wait any longer. After a total of two hours at the restaurant, the bill came, and although the manager did comp the cold meals, she charged my card without any discussion, even though I had asked to speak to her. I was shocked that she processed the payment without my consent, especially since I hadn't eaten and would now have to find somewhere else to get food. I simply wanted the entire bill comped, but instead, the manager chose to argue with me and dictate what she would and would not cover. It's clear she has no understanding of customer service and was willing to lose a loyal customer over $50. While I was disputing the charge online with my Apple Card (as I hadn't authorized her to charge it), a gentleman from corporate, who overheard the conversation, came over and kindly comped the bill. I appreciate his professionalism, which salvaged an otherwise disappointing evening. I hope Farout Hospitality provides this GM with thorough customer service training. When mistakes are made, especially repeatedly, it's essential to do everything possible to make things right. If customer service is not her strong suit, she should consider a role that doesn't involve interacting with guests. Thank you to the corporate representative who helped end our evening on a positive note. ** update ** your response is as expected. Shift blame. If you'd just have owned the mess up you'd have been good to go.

Yelp
Came to Tavern for lunch today. Husband had been her for lunch and said I had to try it. We walk in and I immediately love the atmosphere and decor. We sat right away at a table with super comfy chairs. Ordered the F1 strawberry jalapeno ranch water, and Hubby ordered the Bloody Mary. Both were very good. Our waiter was on point and just really friendly. We both ordered the Famous Pastrami Sandwich and the creamy Cole slaw, because that is all husband has talked about since his visit. Was definitely worth it and he was correct the pastrami is smoked and so flavorful, with Cole slaw, thousand island and cheese. The slaw super creamy and a great compliment to the sandwich. Quick note.... I have a definite preference for good flatware, it was a great quality, great weight and balance, no light weight flatware here. Is always a an important feature for me. The only thing I would have changed was maybe share the sandwich ... it is huge!! We have plans on returning and trying multiple items on the menu. Been awhile since have been to a place that impressed me this much, highly recommend you give it a shot.

Yelp
Man, this is some good brunch. The French toast is a GIGANTIC and filling portion, and everything you want from French toast. It comes with a side of bacon, and I also got some roasted potatoes on the side which had a kick to them. Everything was great, and if I ever come back to visit, I look forward to trying the lunch/dinner menu. The restaurant has a light and airy feel to it, with really cool decor. It's got some hunting motifs, like a giant antler sculpture over the bar, as well as rich paint colors and velvet. The bathroom (at least the women's bathroom) is a "moody maximalism" vibe. Top it off with kind and attentive servers. This may be nit picky, but the only thing I found odd was how many plates they bring out. Each condiment is delivered in ramekins on a plate, and even the bacon that came with our meals was served separately on a plate when it didn't need to be. We had four at a small table and ran out of space. We had to consolidate a bunch of plates just to eat haha.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible experience and will never go back. Had made a reservation long in advance but no suitable table and very un helpful service.
google avatar

Yelp
Great bar to pop in for a cocktail or two! Oh, and if you're hungry, they have several incredible dishes on their menu, it's a must try for everyone!
google avatar

Yelp
The Tavern is a great American restaurant on Hulen, very near Trader Joe's. They have a good Happy Hour. The bartenders are friendly and the service is fast. The restaurant is small, so I do suggest you either make reservations or arrive early for Happy Hour. Everything I've had from them has been delicious. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Tom M.

Yelp
The Tavern is a great neighborhood restaurant. The last time I had the pork chop and it was seriously the best I've ever had. I highly recommended it. The grilled artichoke is also fantastic. I love the casual, but elegant atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
We took a little break but have been back a couple times recently. I think things are getting back on the right track with their service and food quality. We had some issues but overall better.
google avatar

Helen S.

Yelp
Made an easy reservation online for dinner at 7pm on a Saturday, we were seated right away upon arrival. Started with the lavender martini and side saddle (basically an old fashioned) as our drinks both great. The tuna salad was absolutely delicious, I am a tuna fan and this was unlike any other tuna salad I've had, it was simple but the blend of flavors and dressing was amazing. We also had the pork chop which was flavorful at the top but pretty dry as you cut through it, would not recommend it.

Cindy S.

Yelp
The food was all good! Their crab cakes are really good, spinach artichoke dip was also very good. All enjoyed their meals!

Rhea H.

Yelp
Food was quite subpar, especially considering the price. The atmosphere was cozy and cute but our waiter was rude.

Patricia B.

Yelp
As usual the food was wonderful. Nick was our waiter and he was great very attentive. The ambience was a little loud but we love the food
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Brought my mom in for the ribeye french dip, sat on the patio next to the fire and Cody took great care of us. Couple weeks later we came back for ribs and meatloaf. Aley did fantastic as well.
google avatar

Cody L.

Yelp
Cozy atmosphere tucked away but overall experience is classy! Ordered Baja Fish Tacos and they were spectacular! Small corn tortillas with plenty of perfectly seasoned fish and extras to go along with it. Server was friendly and on top of every need we had.

Kathi M.

Yelp
I love The Tavern. The food and service is always excellent. My favorite thing is the Zuni Salad for lunch. I gave it 4 stars because it is so noisy. The music was so loud and we asked our server if they could turn it down. It's almost impossible to have a decent conversation. I had met someone for lunch to discuss some business things and it made it difficult to hear each other. I remembered that it was often very loud. With all the conversations going on, I don't understand why they have to play the music that loud.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
This place is top notch. I have literally never had a bad experience here. The food, ambiance, service, and especially the always-friendly and attentive servers and manager are in a class all of their own. If you're looking for the best migas in town along with some of the best lunch and dinner food that is consistently great, look no further.
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
I went to the bar, ordered food and a drink. The wagyu burger was excellent and the old fashioned was great, not too sweet. Great service. Felt like a place I could go to over and over. I'll be back!
google avatar

Cecelia F.

Yelp
Great food and terrific service. I got the meatloaf but the Cobb salad is also delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is always delicious and I've had almost everything on the menu! It's a great neighborhood place. These days, a reservation is a best bet!
google avatar

Krystle K.

Yelp
Fabulous, is all I can say. The ambiance, the food, our server, just great. We started with the deviled eggs, superb!!! The queso and chips as well as the oysters were all very good! For our entree we had the meatloaf, delicious. My friend had tacos, looked insanely good. Fries were great, and the banana cream pie was good. The home made key lime pie, oh my god. So good. Can't wait to go back and try more stuff. 10 out of 10!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Excellent food. I had the salmon and my wife had the chicken sandwich. Both were perfectly cooked. The cocktails were also great.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Overall horrible experience. To start with if I go to a place called Tavern I would expect them to have a better bourbon selection than Chili's, know the difference between a bourbon and a whiskey. And not charge me for the bourbon I did order that they were out of...they have a great selection of WELL quality bourbon. The food was between Good and Horrible. The $25 French Dip was about the size of a kids sub at Pot Belly sandwich. Waitress said it was toasted bread, it wasn't. Salmon appetizer was OK. Friend ordered Enchiladas and he was shocked at the price compared to the portion...about 50% open plate ...maybe they should us smaller plates. I had the Texas Burger...I'm 65 years old and this is the first time in my life I have ever sent back a Hamburger...probably only the 3rd time I remember ever sending anything back. Wagyu beef...and not much of it ....I ask for medium...I got a hockey puck with cold shredded cheddar on top. Ordered a Crap Cake salad instead and I do have to say it was excellent. The only two positives from this place were the service and the Crab Cake. By the way your 51% "no guns" sign is not legally posted and worthless.

Yelp
I'm fond of The Tavern. I like to be able to make reservations. I like the many offerings so when we dine with our daughter and son-in-law. For example my wife likes the French Dip, She and our daughter likes the deviled eggs. Our daughter likes the Pastrami sandwich. Our son-in-law likes the Ahi Tuna Burger. I am a Pork Chop fan. But, we all want to try other menu items. My only complaint is the noise. It's very hard to hear.
google avatar

Rob C.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic at Tavern. The menu had many tantalizing options. We had the rigatoni for one and meatloaf both of which were excellent. Also the deviled eggs were amazing. The ambiance is very cool and the service while not as good as the food was still solid. Great restaurant!

Aven ..

Yelp
One of my favorite places in FW. Really nice restaurant with great food and service! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Always great food and service!!! You can't go wrong with anything here!!! Bar is awesome as well!!!
