"There are three main things you need to know about this biergarten. First, they have hand shuffleboard. Second, their ale-braised brisket nachos with spicy queso are an ideal bar snack. Third, you can do a shot ski with their homemade cinnamon-chili whiskey. Immediately gather your friends or coworkers together and put all of this information to good use." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

"If you can bear the personal hell that is finding a parking spot at the Bellevue Place Mall, Tavern Hall is the downtown bar for you. They have a ton of great beers on tap, hand-shuffleboard, and skillets of braised brisket nachos when a salad isn’t going to cut it. And even if you bring the entire crew for a round of ciders and soft pretzels, there shouldn’t be a crazy wait." - Aimee Rizzo

You’ll avoid the mess at Lincoln Square, and it’s a fun gastropub with great beer and cider, a tasty menu of bar food like braised brisket nachos, soft pretzels, flatbreads, and chicken sandwiches. If you have time, play some hand-shuffleboard, too." - aimee rizzo

Overall an extremely positive experience, we were visiting from Nashville, TN. The only negative was the fish, the outer layer of the crust was crisp, but the breading underneath was not cooked all the way and was soggy; the fish itself was good. My wife and I really liked the environment, and the bourbon selection was great. When our server found out it was our first visit the manager brought us a complimentary desert.

Ordered fried pickles and two burgers. We went early around 5:30pm. The fried pickles were great with thinly breaded crumbs served with ranch. Burgers were also tasty. The manager brought a brownie dessert since it was our first visit! 😊

Google
It was nice that they have 3 oz pours on the menu, so I got to try several beers and ciders before picking a larger glass. They were out of one of the beers I wanted to try though (the nitro cream ale). The tiny beer steins were amusing. We got one pretzel with cheese sauce on the waiter's recommendation, and it was really good. It was large enough to share but we both wished we had ordered two. For desert we ordered the donuts, which were hot and fresh, and whatever the chocolate dip was was good. They also offered us the smores desert for free for some reason, and it was definitely the best thing on the menu. Whatever the chocolate on the bottom is, it's a truffle-like consistency and delicious. We're definitely ordering it again when we come back.

Although the service a bit slow on a Friday night, the waitress tried her best to make and check orders through the entire time. The food there was spectacular health adequate good except a fried pickle gave me salty greasy kick in the stomach.

I’m in Bellevue for a DECA conference and OH MY GOODNESS!! Reanna was my server, and she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Very friendly, all the staff were smiling and welcoming. The service was super quick, the food is amazing, and it felt nice to have a good, quick sit-down in a restaurant. I’m definitely stopping here again when I visit Bellevue. :)

Google
We stopped in for a couple cocktails. It’s a really cool place, a nice atmosphere. They got really busy and our server seemed really spread thin but he did a great job. Cocktails were really good.

Google
It's been years since the last time I was here, and it's been great both times. I had a Tavern Burger and an RB Float cocktail. Best. Decision. Ever. When you put Mama's Lil Peppers on pretty much anything is great. As for service, I never had to ask for more water or extra napkins. Bri was our server at the bar, and she was brilliant!

Google
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! We were quoted a 20-30 minute wait time but we were sat within 5 minutes. The service was so kind throughout the entire restaurant, everyone is very attentive and kind. The food had a wonderful flavor and we were surprised with a complimentary dessert! Cannot wait to be back to this establishment that truly knows what quality service and food means.

Yelp
I went here for the first time today with my boyfriend. (we are from out of state). the service was AMAZING. the host was so helpful and helped us get seated right away. our waitress was very nice. the wings are to DIE for. i cannot recommend this place enough. next time we visit washington, we will definitely be coming here again

Adam H.

Yelp
Place is great! Wings, both sweet and spicy were crispy, juicy and all around awesome. I had the Tavern Burger and it was just about as good as a burger can get, juicy, flavorful, bacon was thick but crispy, sweet peppers and crispy onion amazing, sauce was on point and the bun was light but sturdy, one of the better burgers I've had on the east side for sure, maybe the best. My wife had the steak salad and it was high quality all the way with a super juicy, healthy amount of steak. Just really surprisingly tasty. Service was good, one of the dudes was kind of strange, but not a bother by any means. We'll be back!!

Yelp
I have visited a few halls in such a style where you can order beers and pretzels. This one is located in the downtown part of Bellevue. Super easy to spot and find free or validated parking around the location. Just on the third floor of the lodge on the way down the bridge to lincoln square. It is a huge space with lots of rooms to rent or reserve in the back too and has a real upscale beer hall kind of vibe where you're not just at a picnic park bench but indoors. Almost like a blend between a beer hall and a pub. They do have an alcohol / bar section and a more family friendly section. So you can definitely dine in with family. The bar you seat yourself. I think the service is better on the restaurant side but the staff is nice regardless of where you sit...just slower on the bar side. Menu for drinks covers the bases from cocktails to beers. Food covers nachos and burgers and pizzas. Overall, medium pricing for the area. There are some things here that are a total hit; like the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo or the pretzels with all the sauces. The pizzas to us were mid. We have been here a few times and may come back again!

Yelp
Excellent brunch for Father's Day. The menu is a bit limited, and looks like an MBA's Greatest Hits. Totally predictable and very "safe fare. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the quality of the coffee, food, etc. outperformed that photos on their digital menu which could really stand with a redo. I didn't get to try the bar, but they have a 21+ space, and a more family space, which means something for everyone! The service was exceptional, and the pub ambiance, on a gray Bellevue morn, was quite warm and inviting. Parking is in a huge garage. You walk right in, if you find a spot on the third floor.

Yelp
After retail therapy session I popped in for a beverage and bite. Signage outside mentions happy hour but, there is No happy hour. I sat at the bar and was greeted with ultra friendly service. I ordered a Moscow mule and was informed they make the ginger beer in house. An absolutely delicious cocktail. Refreshing and perfect. The kale salad with salmon was super tasty. Add fresh ground pepper to cut the creamy dressing and super yummy. The bar is covered in pennies and televisions offer different sporting events to watch. The menu has many different options like pizza, burgers and other salads. I'd go back.

Rolando U.

Yelp
Great service, clean dining area, quick service, but the food wasn't anything special for the price. The only thing that was really good was the classic cheeseburger. It had a strong mustard/onion taste to it that was delicious.

Jay S.

Yelp
We sat at bar, ordered nacho with chicken and donuts with raspberry dips Nutella dip. Nacho needed more cheesy, guacamole, sour cream. It look like they just put table spoonful of each. Chicken was pieces and gilled which was good. Dessert donuts were good. It was like donut cake with two type of dips. Service was ok. She was very friendly but cannot find her sometime.

London C.

Yelp
Wow! Been here many times! 1000% recommended the spicy chicken sando, It's fire. the service is usually quite good. As far as atmosphere......... it's a tavern. So VERY loud. But for the food I'd say it worth it!

Gina H.

Yelp
I had a reservation for Saturday brunch and we were promptly seated. Friendly and good service. I was worried that this would be heavy duty bar ambiance and not suitable for kids or non drinkers, but it turned out fine with high boots covering the view of the bar. It was nice to be able to order any menu item and not limited to brunch menu. In addition to pictured items (salad, chicken bowl and avocado toast), we also got cheeseburger, kids mac and cheese, french toast and skillet steak and eggs. Except for french toast that was overly drenched in egg batter, we enjoyed our food and portions were generous.

Carrie M.

Yelp
Came in after a movie for a quick beer and a pretzel. It was delicious and easy. The weight staff was wonderful. The ambience is very cool. Love the penny countertop. It's nice to just sit in the corner and chill here. Also a great place to socialize and play some of the games in the back room.

Bonnie G.

Yelp
We gad a great server. Helpful, pleasant, and efficient. They didn't seem too busy, but we waited 10 minutes to be seated (maybe spacing settings to not overload the kitchen. We came cuz we heard they had Chicago tavern style thin crust pizza. They did, and it was good. Could have been cooked a bit more. The rest of the menu looks pretty heavy, except for a few things under "lighter side". Pretty noisy, even though not crowded.

Monica C.

Yelp
A reliable restaurant to say the least; standard American classics under a large menu. A tavern-like facade that opens to a large facility within. Deviled eggs, pizzas, and roasted peppers were part of the lineup. Unsurprising, but fair and hearty. A harried waitress and a bustling dining hall were completely expected and welcomed components of this standard sedan.

Vanessa R.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Cleaned my plate! Potatoe skins were hitting the spot! Ambiance was great!! Definitely would go back!

Erika T.

Yelp
This was a really nice spot for a team dinner! The restaurant is also located in a beautiful mall that's packed with other dining options that also look high-quality. The service was great, and the food was too. I'm just sad that my entree wasn't what I was hoping for, but if it weren't for that, I'd probably give this place 5 stars. We ordered lots of the apps to share: soft pretzels, chips and guac, crab artichoke dip, parmesan fries, deviled eggs, and fried pickles. All of them hit the spot! The deviled eggs had a good amount of truffle flavor without it being too overbearing. The crab dip came with toasted baguette slices which paired very nicely. My team also unanimously loved the fried pickles. I got the rosemary mushroom and guanciale flatbread for my entree since I wanted to try guanciale (cured jowl meat, vibes similar to bacon). Unfortunately the flatbread tasted way too sour for my liking. I tried some of my teammates' mac and cheese though, and that was quite good! The pasta was al dente and the sauce was creamy and rich.

Rob H.

Yelp
Restaurant is usually pretty good, but they've started the obnoxious habit of setting their wait time on Yelp to 0 when they're too backed up to take a waitlist. If you see there's no wait, it's probably better not to go...

Sagar A.

Yelp
Well.. pretty much everything went absolutely awesome. Food - yummy, drinks - lip smacking, ambiance-vibrant, Service - Super friendly

Zoe T.

Yelp
Always an amazing time!! There are only a handful of restaurants I can count on in Bellevue, and Tavern Hall has became the no-brainer for girl's date or date night. If there's one thing I can eat for the rest of my life, it's their spicy chicken sando. I'm not kidding. The fries are also perfectly salted for me (which means light on salt for most), and the kale salad was fresh and thankfully not drenched in dressing. Loved the bread that came with the dip so much it almost made me love artichoke. Dining service was ok, bar service was faster by comparison. But I work in the industry so I have generally higher standards. Until next time tavern! (which is probably some time this week).

Alisa B.

Yelp
Yum! The food here is pretty tasty. There was a 45 min wait on a Sunday at 2 pm, so it's also popular! I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. The shrimp had a nice snappy texture and the side of bread soaked up the sauce well. I really enjoyed the sausage too! It added a nice saltiness. For drinks, I wanted something light and ordered the Lavender Bramble. I was WRONG! The gin in there was quite strong. The bartender's got a heavy hand.

Carly C.

Yelp
Tavern Hall is probably one of the better spots that you're going to find if you are considering the following: How quick they can get you in, quality of food, how fresh the food is/hot/cold, in addition to overall atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant. As you know, Bellevue, as a really lovely place still struggles a-lot of the time with restaurants always being busy and they don't really provide super great customer service or urgency to get your party seated. Tavern Hall however, it's the mark and does everything well.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Solid spot (especially for the location). Food and service were good. Just didn't feel like anything spectacular.

Tami A.

Yelp
Very busy on a Seahawks Sunday night, found a seat in the bar. Loud, but fun. Plenty of seats and a whole other section that isn't even open right now. The waitress came by twice while I was in the restroom, however took forever after I returned. The menu was digital and it was extensive. We ordered meatballs, fried pickles, cheese curds and avocado toast. As well as two cocktails, a RB Float and a Spa Day. We waited FOREVER. The food actually came before our drinks. It's awkward to sit in the bar with no drinks.

Tanya B.

Yelp
Alex santos-literally best service ever! Thanks for making my birthday celebration great. He provided excellent recommendations. And the black bean burger was good too! Will be back! Great vibes and a decent place to meet up with friends.

Sarah S.

Yelp
We walked in as a party of four at noon for some drinks and snacks. It wasn't too busy and our waitress was lovely. We really liked the variety of the seating-you could sit at a booth, or the bar, or at a secluded table. We loved the flexibility. I enjoyed a delightful grapefruit mimosa before the foods-a nice and tart start to the day. Their pretzels are pillowy and wonderful. We got the cheese sauce with ours. We split a Jalapeno, Sausage & Soppressata flatbread. This was so delicious! We shared it amongst four and should have ordered another. We left wishing we had ordered more. These were decent snacks between four people. Just a quick stop but a pleasant one.

Alysha R.

Yelp
This review is mostly about our server Ernesto. We were a party of 10 , no reservation, for my sister's graduation. Ernesto went above and beyond for our table. Myself and my sister have allergies and when we told him about it, he went out of his way to check everything we ordered to make sure there would not be cross contaminated. Handling multiple tables plus our special requests , he did a wonderful job. He's very appreciated. Give him a raise. The food was okay, but be aware that everything deep fried apparently gets cross contamination with the fried fish. So, not great for those of us who have fish allergies. But everyone else really enjoyed their food.

Jesena M.

Yelp
We were there for a company event and it was actually much nicer than expected. They have areas they can rope off for events with a couple of tables and a shuffle board. The servers were really great and very attentive to our group and the finger food and smaller items the company preordered were delicious. I'd probably say the noise level is much higher compared to a separate room setting for groups, since the whole Tavern Hall is gigantic. Still a great place, I would definitely recommend it.

Mark E.

Yelp
TLDR: great bar with plenty on tap, with shuffleboards for a fun time Went to Tavern Hall with a few friends for a quick lunch during the sports game. Our beers came out bubbly cold and crisp and our food came out shortly after. We seated ourselves at the very end of the bar and unfortunately the TV in front of us didn't have the football game on. It did have sports highlights (which optimistically was entertaining). Fried pickles: salty, had a good crunch, and the pickles had great flavor. The batter costing was spot on and so was the sauce. Steak and Cheese Sandwich: it was a simple, delicious sandwich that is sure to please anyone. It hits it home well. Fries were crisp. Overall the beers, food, and shuffleboard was just great. We all had a great time and would love to visit again if back in town.

Xiaolu G.

Yelp
Had the tavern burger which they claimed was the best burger on the east side. It was ok, but tipsy cow is definitely better. Service was a bit slow when we went but it was a Friday night.

Melly B.

Yelp
Always a pleasure! Food is delicious, good selection of drinks, and lovely vibes. Easy to do big tables too. All the staff are so kind. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles and the prime rib sandwich.

Shima K.

Yelp
They have my favorite burger in the town( tavern burger). Their prices are really good. Place is always clean and they have very friendly staff. Love this place

Chloe W.

Yelp
This is a great place for work functions. The food and drinks are very good and the serving staff is wonderful for the large groups.

Gabriele E.

Yelp
My husband and I came here on a whim and I'm happy we did! It was a little crowded so we sat ourselves in the bar area next to the fire, which is a really nice touch. We were greeted quickly by our server James who was excellent the entire time! My husband had a whiskey drink and I had the spa day which was perfectly not sweet and was super refreshing! we shared the crab and artichoke dip. The bread that came with the dip was amazing and the starter was so good! I love a good brunch so luckily we made it in time to order breakfast. I got the eggs Benedict which was good, nothing incredibly special except for the home made English muffin. It's like if an English muffin and a biscuit had a baby. So delicious!!! My husband had the steak skillet and he wasn't a huge fan of the poached eggs, but that was just his preference. He loved the English muffin as well. They asked if it was our first time dining there and they gave us a dessert on the house! I wish I had enough space to finish it because it was a warm chocolate cake a la mode and I wanted it all but was too full. Overall we had a great experience and we would come back.

Kumar V.

Yelp
Been to Tavern Hall multiple times and it has been my go to place whenever I am at Lincoln square at dinner hours. The atmosphere has always been here which explains the popularity of this place. The service is good, they generally keep tabs on ordering time and try to bring your food on time even in busy hours. Burger and Sandwiches are generally great here, other foods can be a hit or miss. There have been a few incidents when I didn't quite like what I got. The last time I went, I wanted something on a lighter flare and went with the Moroccan chicken bowl. It turned out to be pretty good. I also highly recommend to try their Black Bean Burger if you are a vegan. One thing I recommend here is to try their cocktail - they have the same usual cocktails but I feel they are pretty good here.

Ciara L.

Yelp
Took my friend from out of town here. For people who don't really like venturing out and exploring different foods, this was a safe place in the heart of Bellevue. Cool location. Food was good. I liked the inside of the place. It felt very dynamic and fun. The ambiance was a party feel, and there's a bunch of tvs you can watch too (again- perfect for seeing a friend from out of town who you haven't hung out with for a year). Service was good and fast!

Dave T.

Yelp
The staff is always nice and the bar area is clean. Our bartender was great and I couldn't ask for a better person. I come here often and have always loved the food. Today wasn't a good day. The "New England Clam Chowder" wasn't creamy or chowder! It's served as a very thin, watery, bland soup! The bartender said that, that's the way they serve it. The definition of a chowder is that it's rich and thick (look it up online)! I lived in a New England state for 21 years. That was the worst looking chowder I've ever seen. There's no way this could be served without a roar of laughter on the East coast. I've had the spicy chicken sandwich in the past and really liked it (that time). This time the flavor was spot on but the size was extremely surprising. It was super crunchy due to the fact that the chicken itself was thin. It was as if someone sliced the chicken sideways in order to make it into 2 sandwiches. It wasn't worth the price at all. Take a look at the photo. If you need to raise the cost then raise the cost but giving out smaller sizes to hide the cost savings isn't the way to go. I'll be back in the future but I'm sticking with my go-to burger. If that starts getting smaller than I'll stop eating there. Oh yeah, they were out of sweet potato fries!

Jorie B.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place during a marriage retreat! Service was amazing, food was so good, not the healthiest choices ever but it was so good we can't wait for a reason to return! It's a little over an hour away so looking forward to a great date night!

Emily G.

Yelp
Really good food. Fun environment m. Super nice waiters. They gave us a free dessert for our first time there

Michael A.

Yelp
Average bar fare for reasonable prices. Nothing super great to hit home about, but the service was decent!

Anamika S.

Yelp
Tavern Hall's dining experience was average; the service was good, and the ambiance pleasant. However, the food, particularly the cheese curds, left much to be desired. The dish was excessively oily, diminishing its appeal. While the service and ambiance contributed positively, the overall impression suffered due to the notable greasiness in the ordered items. Improvement in food quality, especially managing oil content, would significantly enhance the dining experience at Tavern Hall.

Leanne B.

Yelp
Best burgers in Bellevue! And the wings are perfection if it's your first time here , make sure to let your server know. This place makes happy happen ! Alex Santos, thank you for the best service and hospitality

Jennifer W.

Yelp
What an amazing experience! The best burger I've had in a very long time. Portion size is spot on (maybe a little large). Con: VERY loud environment. We where there at 5:30 on a Wednesday and the volume of the restaurant was really loud. Almost too loud. Could barely hear the people at the table. Service was meh. Our waiter was busy. had a lot of tables, but still he managed to check in with us. Up until we wanted to pay our bill. We flagged down another server to find our waiter. Pro: Great food. The manager brought us a free dessert because they had heard it was our first time there. Nice touch. The value for what you get is spot on. Eating out has gotten a bit expensive lately. A cheeseburger and soft drink was $22 before tax and tip. I find that a good value for the delicious food. Bottom line: If I was ever in Bellevue again, looking for a place to eat, I'd go back in a heart beat.

Toni T.

Yelp
We walked by Tavern Hall several times while we were in the area and decided to give them a try for lunch, just before heading to the airport. A little different... quite a large restaurant and it was seat yourself. We sat there for a little bit before being acknowledged. Several televisions with different games/channels on. The server brought us water and let us know the menu was accessible with our device. I don't care for this method personally, but it gets the job done. Chicken & Waffle and Brisket Hash for lunch. Both looked attractive on presentation. Kind of weird, two different restaurants where we had chicken on this trip had a really weird texture... like chewing on a rubber ball. Not sure what this is about but definitely a turn off. Lots of brisket in the hash, which was nice! We waited, waited and waited for a server to come check on us and finally flagged a gal down for the check. My card was taken and swiped in a machine table side and handed to me... never saw a check and had to hurry up with putting in gratuity while she stood there and waited. Maybe I'm old school, but this was uncomfortable for me. I get the convenience of devices, but I didn't care for it to this extent.

Bill H.

Yelp
Tavern Hall is great for both adults and families. The food and drinks are all great, and we have always had great service!

Brian C.

Yelp
Haven't been here in some time since COVID and this place has improved a lot. Good drinks and good food! The burger was delicious! I had great service as well from the two ladies working the front bar on 10/23. Check #50 In the past I had some issues but looks like things have changed for the better.

Julie K.

Yelp
Ambience was good, food and drink were good, service was pretty slow... so that's something to work on, other than that had an average experience here.

Matt C.

Yelp
This is a great place to come for a happy hour or for bar food. Good variety of beers. The appetizer menu has a lot of really good food but I'd say that the entrees are lacking variety. It's either a sandwich or a salad for the most part. I did get the fish and chips but it seemed over cooked and burnt. Service is good though and they have the the private rooms with shuffleboard.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
Found our new spot when at the mall. Thanks Jose for the great service and recommendations. my wife is picky when it comes to burgers, every burger joint always cooks them wrong, too well done or not enough but this is hands-down is one of the best burgers she has ever eaten. tavern burger with fries very simple and very yummy. Jared the manager even came to check on us to make sure everything was good, he was very personable. This place offered great service great beer and great food.

Shelby Y.

Yelp
I recently dined at Tavern Hall with a group of friends after looking for a place to get a few beers/cocktails and we had an absolutely great time! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the perfect ambiance for a delightful evening with a group of friends. The pretzels and burgers were amazing! My entire group also loved our server Ernest (Sorry if we messed up your name). He was very attentive and made our group feel very comfortable and recommended some great dishes and drinks!

Evelyn V.

Yelp
Got seated when we got there thanks to the "Join the Waitlist" Service was quick and ordered cheese curds. Curds didn't have the squeak I'm use when eating cheese curds but the dipping sauce was different. HB said the chowder was alright. Enough amount of clams and a little too much bacon.. too much bacon, I don't know about that one.. it's a good place for a quick bite before holiday shopping.

Nikita S.

Yelp
Ambience (3/5) - Casual Gastropubs. Good place to hangout with friends and watch a match Food (4/5) - Highly recommend the "Hatch Green Chile Cheeseburger". That burger was close to perfection. The bun (very soft) was complementing the beef patty and the sauce. The patty was cooked delicious and had a good amount of seasoning to it. The fries were fresh and seasoned well The only item we didn't liked much were the wings. Service - (3.5/4) - decent service, was quite quick than we were expecting. Will definitely go again for burger and beer

Sarah L.

Yelp
Great spot with really reasonably priced food! I was happily surprised with the prices, especially for a downtown Bellevue restaurant. The food was overall good. The two pretzels were good and I loved the 4 sauce options but, they were too salty. Even with all the salt stripped off, they were still salty. The nachos were also good and I love that they use queso instead of melted cheese. However, they were super onion-y. I believe they used 3 types of onion. Service was also good. We got sat immediately and a server came by immediately with water. The water cups were a little dirty but the server immediately got us new ones. Ambiance was a little upscale tavern vibes. It was nice in there, lots of light.
