Tavern on Brand

Looks pretty much like it used to. BUT it's been a while. Rather empty. AND it was lunchtime! Happy Hour food not as great, but still good. Of course prices are Up but better than others. I wish they had happy Hour fries STILL! Music mix now a little too hipster. But not overwhelming so.

Fantastic spot! In town for work and stumbled upon this pub. They had a fun live jazz band playing, other great live music on different nights according to the lineup. Service was top notch, it was a Tuesday but still bustling, and the 2 tenders were on top of it the whole time. Cook was great as well, has some appetizers with our drinks and they were great quality. Atmosphere was fun, chill but lovely. They have some TV's for the games and a wide variety of high end and often hard to find spirits, which is what drew us in! We enjoyed some tasty bourbon and cocktails, all spot on! I highly recommend stopping in for a bite a drink, you won't be disappointed!

It was kind of a blind date and this was my first time at The Tavern on Brand. We ordered Ceviche and it was simply amazing. I ordered a Amaretto Collin’s and the bartender had never made it before…now that was very tasty and made perfect. Our waitress was very sweet and kind. Overall, the whole experience was very enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone.

Went here for a private event - Half the bar was booked for a private event and the other half was for public dining. Appetizers are good - had the chicken nachos. Beers were ok - got a bunch of your traditional stuff I don’t think there was something that knocked my socks off. I think the real appeal of this place is the location. It’s right on brands and has indoor and outdoor seating. People are very friendly and the staff are very respectful.

So we came during happy hour and were excited for the deals and options they had. We sat down and the atmosphere was really fun with good music. About 20 minutes in, we still hadn’t been checked on, so we flagged down the server who seemed annoyed that we waved at her. We put in our order for drinks, which took about 20 minutes when there was only us and two other tables, and we were never checked on again. We went up to the bar for our second round after an hour of no service and asked for a side of fries. Again, they were not at all busy, and this round took almost 30 minutes. The server came by with the fries and we said thank you, then she threw them on the table and walked away without a word. Overall, atmosphere was fun, service was incredibly disappointing, and the food was ok. I would have been more ok with the slow service if it was busy, but everyone around us was getting service except for a few tables with the same issue we had. It seemed like the server only focused on parties of more than two and left the rest of us in the dust.

Just had my first experience with this place and I am so pleasantly surprised and impressed! The staff is absolutely amazing. Very attentive and super friendly. A breath of fresh air for what I’m used to in LA. We didn’t have to wait for anything. Great service! The food is great and didn’t take long to come out. The drinks are good too! My husband got a Bloody Mary and I’m usually not a fan at all but THIS ONE was amazing! Shout out to Jordan 👏🏻 I can’t stress enough how great the staff is here. And the food!!! Chefs kiss. We will absolutely be back! My husband and I just moved to Glendale and this place is within walking distance, so we just found our new favorite bar!

Very good burgers at this place. I ordered the smash burger and was not disappointed. Came out quick too on a Saturday afternoon. They used to do 2 for $6 beers from 12-7pm and it was the best happy hour ever. The place used to be packed all the time. Unfortunately, that’s long gone. I paid $8 for a modelo draft. Hope they come up with a good happy hour again, the place was pretty dead when I was there at 2pm on a Saturday

Great spot to watch a game and chow down on a bomb burger with a beer! The staff were great, the place was super clean and food was really good! I had a smash burger with an ice cold Allagash & I’d do it again!

Food was decent. Place was cool too. Service wasn't bad. Over charged me for a beer I didn't buy. Manager told me they would issue a refund, but I never got it. The biggest scam though is when they expect you to tip on an amount that includes a cover charge. Had a bill of about $80, $30 of which is a cover charge and their POS actually makes you tip on the amount INCLUDING the cover charge. Scam. Smashburger was decent. Edit: management did get in touch and fix the issues.

Lots of screens and low priced food should attract most sports fans!! Plenty of beers local and national for those interested in something different. One thing we didn't like was the whole closing your tab for shift changeover but the servers were the same on the next shift and much less active not sure what that was all about... Our visit was Sunday 1/19/25 during the Ravens Bills Game wifey ordered some snacks and my sister wife and eye ordered beers, margaritas normal drinks at a bar when your watching football. The place has a really good vibe, we definitely enjoyed the rivalry between other parishioners LOL. Only thing keeping me from rating them 5 Stars was going back to the shift change over and what didn't happen after.. Our server seemed less active the rest of the night with me having to go to the bar to get next 3 rounds of drinks... Overall cool place, likeable, much more friendly and customer service oriented on the dayshift. Were going back this upcoming Sunday so let's see if they cab step up thier game and get the 5th Star...

Sergio gets a 5/5. He was so helpful and attentive and truly one of the nicest bartenders I have ever ordered from. It's Glendale parking so keep that in mind when coming here. This place is great for watching games, they have TVs everywhere. The food could use a little help. There was barely any meat in our fries especially for the price you're paying. It was more of cheese fries and a small plate of it. When we ordered the chilaquiles the waitress didn't know what I was ordering, although it's on their menu. The chilaquiles were a tad bit spicy but good. Their smash burger was great though and worth it. Things can add up pretty quick here, so keep that in mind. I would definitely come back here and try out their happy hour.

A typical American bar -- nothing too special. They don't carry any European beers and there's no real finger food on the menu. Service could definitely be better. That said, it's one of the few spots open late, and the outdoor seating is actually really nice when the weather's good. Decent option if you're out late and want to sit outside

There are times when you just want some place to eat that is quiet, casual, but good. And, there are towns that make it easy. Glendale is one of those towns that is clean and filled with interesting stores and restaurants. Maybe it is the presence of so many financial giants in this little sister to Pasadena, or the people that have been pouring in for the past few decades, but it is an upscale, safe, friendly town with lots of venues that reflect its calm and uplifting vibe. I liked Glendale so much that, after living in Pasadena for a year, I chose to switch to a townhouse in Glendale. I could walk to everything and it gave me that city sense without urban troubles, iykwim. Tavern on Brand is a quiet, dark, cool little spot where you can either stop for an afternoon brew, an evening cocktail or eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For a small place that seems to focus on alcohol-based beverages, it has an amazing deep and diverse menu. We went there for a late lunch on a Sunday. What is great about that specific time slot, as I have said elsewhere on Yelp, is the parking is good (and that may be the best parking of any time in this busy town). We parked right out front, slipped in, got the table of our choice, studied the astonishing menu and chose Shakshuka, Fish and Chips, Parmesan Garlic fries, and Guinness. J.P. and Oscar were our servers and they were friendly and efficient. At the end they brought us a beautiful shopping bag for leftovers with the Tavern on Brand logo on it. If I were to change one thing? I think they should serve coffee! We had to go down the block for dessert and some afternoon Joe. Otherwise, this was a terrific experience. There was a great playlist in the background, lots of movies and sports on the big screens, and the food was flawless. Wood tables, comfortable benches, good silverware, spotlessly clean and fresh, with a subdued ambiance perfect for a lazy afternoon. We will definitely return. I think my photos will fill in the blanks.

3 stars for drinks and food, rounded up to 3.5 for the service. My bf and I sat on the outside patio on a busy weekend night. I thought we were supposed to go inside first, but he said that someone came out to his table last time. We left after waiting for 10 minutes because we were lazy lol. Our next visit was on New Year's Eve at 7:30 pm. We were seated immediately after walking in. The place was short-staffed, but we appreciated our attentive server. He was very personable and checked in on us whenever he could. - Cranberry Vodka with Tito's. Standard, but good. - Blue Breeze ($15 - rum, blue curacao, lime, pineapple, coconut, and pina colada mix). The drink was too sweet, like cotton candy status. Sugar and pineapple was at the forefront, with a hint of warmth. - Margherita Pizza ($13.25). This flatbread pizza had a thick and fluffy base, reminiscent of a pita. The underside was crisped. It tasted simple, but good. The tomato sauce was slightly sweet. It was topped with a good amount of cheese, fresh tomato, and chiffonade basil.

Good sports bar. I love club sandwiches and theirs just does the classic very well and with a pretty large portion. The wings are also very solid. I wouldn't travel across town to come here but if it's close to you, it's a great option.

Nice happy hour, free WiFi, good food, reasonable prices! During the week it's pretty empty which is nice for grabbing a bite and doing some work. I've been to Tavern on Brand several times in the past. I remembered they had a great Happy Hour, so when a friend of mine wanted to meet up for drinks this place came to mind. Much like a Tavern, this casual sports bar has a welcoming vibe - beckoning you to come in and drink your cares away. There's a dog friendly patio, comfy bench seating along the wall, and a communal table in the center. The food is better than your typical sports bar fare, and their specialty cocktails are exceptionally tasty. You also know it's good when other bartenders come to drink, which happened to be the case on the day of my visit. I ran into my buddy who bartends at a few local establishments in the area. Upon arrival, Eric greeted us. He was fantastic! Enthusiastic, friendly, & attentive. Since I am a cocktail afficionado, I decided to give the Blackberry Sidecar a try. My friend ordered an Old Fashioned. I've been to many bars/restaurants that have served disappointing versions of these drinks but not Tavern on Brand. Both cocktails were on point! The Blackberry Sidecar was nicely balanced and the Old Fashioned was expertly crafted & properly garnished. Bartender Sergio is Legit! My friend and I a wonderful time. High ho, high Ho, it's off to Brand I go..."Tavern on Brand," that is! This hidden gem has been here since 2009. Located just a few doors down from The Alex Theater. Perfect place to hit before a show or after! Love the tavern feel and the ease of sitting leisurely to enjoy a drink (or 2, or 3) while noshing on yummy food & chatting with friends. The entire staff were super friendly and welcoming. Someone even brought in their very large chow dog to sit by the bar near the front entrance. We hit the jackpot with our server, Yoshi. Hands down, one of my favorite servers!!!! He was so kind, funny and easy to talk with. He made my review a 5 star review. We ordered: The Slider Stack with regular fries, a house salad, a bourbon on the rocks with orange slices, (for my sis, I don't do bourbon), and a Paloma for moi! Everything came out quickly which was great. We were hungry but we ordered the perfect amount of food. I love that you can easily share every dish here. They have a great variety of appies including: nacho's, guacamole & chips, flatbreads, quesadillas and more. My bestie and I had a fun time here at Tavern on Brand. We tend to frequent cocktail lounges and wine bars over sports bars these days, but this time we wanted to try someplace more low-key. That's how we ended up at Tavern on Brand, a casual sports bar with a wide selection of drinks and cocktails. Our mixed drinks were fantastic, my favorite being the Blue breeze cocktail. As for the food, the options were better than your standard basic bar food, and worked well to soak up the alcohol as we continued to order rounds of drinks. Overall, Tavern on Brand is a solid choice for those wanting good drinks in a laid-back setting. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. I have been here with friends twice already before an event at the Alex theatre. It's a great place to grab some cold draft beer and bar food. The beer variety is great from domestic to imported. The food options are limited but there is something for everyone's taste including a few vegetarian options. The slider stack I ordered was delicious and probably the only thing I can say I loved. The rest was ok for bar food. Prices are ok and so is the service. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. Also bar seating .....

The food was great !! The service was amazing. Highly recommend asking about the specials. It's a sports bar, and seems busy , but during lunch time you can easily get a table .

Very nice place to come and watch the game or grab a drink! I had the food before here and it was not bad pretty decent! I love how they have a full bar with variety. The bartenders/ employees are pretty cool attentive and always check in. You can relax here and chill nice ambiance and great location in Glendale. I will definitely come back here again! Came here to watch the superbowl! In comparing the food, it's only valid to compare it to other sports bars food for a fair assessment. It's not fair to compare it to full on restaurants or joints that specialize in wings or pizzas. That being said, got the roasted mushroom Flatbread, Buffalo chicken wings, house fries and Brussel sprouts kale salad. Got the pear martini - a tad too sweet but not bad. The food was pretty good overall! All you need for sports food! Their service is great! From the front to back of house, they are exceptional. You really feel like you've walked into a friend's home because they treat you like family. This is a great sports bar & I definitely recommend. The ambiance is great! Everyone is there for a good time and it's all positive vibes. Definitely recommend!

11:30am on a NFL Sunday. Grabbed a few beers and had a smoked salmon plate part of their brunch menu. Sat at the bar. Service was great. All games were on so I had no trouble watching multiple games at once due to my fantasy team. A chill spot.

Absolutely adore this place. Staff is amazing & I always leave feeling soooo much better than when I arrived. Truly my favorite place to go to & never leave feeling like I shouldn't have stopped by. Lovely place, drinks & food, would definitely recommend if you're looking for a bite on brand!

Solid beer selection. Great place to watch a game - TVs surround the entire bar so there's a clear view anywhere you sit. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Jordan the bartender was sweet and funny - humming/singing away with the music . Didn't try the food but saw a few plates come out, looked like decent bar food.

Fun restaurant. Great service. Good beer selection. The bacon wrapped shrimp and the fish and chips were really good. I would have given 5 stars but the calamari appetizer was seriously over cooked and one noticed that we did not finish them. Still, highly recommend.

Great food, cute place. We stopped by around 4 and we were able to be seated immediately. Ordered pulled pork sandwich, Philly Steak Sandwich, Smash Burger and Tavern Burger. Loved I was able to swap fries for salad. Also order Spicy Mango Margarita. Had to send it back for more syrup as it was strong. Highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning. Plenty of parking but with the holidays a bit of a challenge.

Me and a buddy stopped by for some drinks after working late last night. Although they were winding down, we were greeted warmly by the barback and told that although the kitchen was closed for food, we were good for drinks. Our bartender, she was very cool. We really dug her vibe, style, playlist, and of course her drinks! My buddy got his old fashioned with Maker's Mark, and they were out on the shelf. We didn't want her to have to fetch another bottle, but she insisted. After a long day, it's nice when people go the extra mile for you, especially if they may have had a long day themselves. I really dug how easy she made it to split our bill with an iPad and we tapped it to pay. We'll definitely be showing our faces here again!

You walk in an hour before closing, there are no customers but a sad girl cutting lemons. You ask if they're open to which she replies "I wish we weren't" then makes your drinks with a noticeable attitude.

$30 for a maker's and diet. Food is average. Service is average. Definitely never coming again. See pic for what they consider a $30 drink.

Service was super slow (no one else eating lunch there). My friend asked if the calamari was breaded on premises and was told yes. He ordered that and some wings, I ordered a club sandwich with fries. Calamari was not fresh, doubtful it was breaded there. Wings were over cooked. Fries were cold and the club sandwich had packaged deli meat and packaged deli cheese. Terrible.

One of my go to places to go get a drink and hangout. I also go watch all the sport games with the guys, they have great drink and of course my favorite Guinness!! The staff is amazing very nice and attentive. Would recommend the place for sure!!

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was even better, and overall, it's an incredibly affordable place to enjoy a great meal, watch sports, and have a few beers. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling and looking for a fun, relaxed atmosphere where they can enjoy good food, drinks, and sports. The service is also quick, especially when it comes to ordering beers and food.

The power was out went to use the bathroom by candlelight and had the ceiling fan dripping water on me. They told me that there was no kitchen, which was fine. I only wanted to have a beer for happy hour only to find out that only certain beers were available for happy hour which I was not told. Not the greatest experience.

The service here was just ok. I really enjoyed the passion fruit Paloma. I like Paloma's and passion fruit so it was a definite must for me. I also enjoyed the Tajín on the rim. The ambiance was your normal sports bar where everyone is seated at the bar.

Sea bass was amazing! Cocktails were great. Don't order the bread pudding dessert. You will regret.

Even though it was cold and pouring rain, we had tickets to The Laemmele tonight to watch the Documentary category of Oscar nominated shorts. Found a gastropub within walking distance and made a reservation (because we could!) The menu looked good. When my husband and I walked in, there was only one occupied table. The bartender knew we had a reservation for three and told us we could sit anywhere. He asked if the 3rd person was coming and I said yes. He then gave us ONE menu. I asked for another. My husband likes to try unique coctails. A waitress came over and I asked if they had a drink menu because they do have one online. She was clueless. We went online. My friend came in wet and cold and had to also ask for a menu. She also asked if the front door and windows could be closed and what she could order HOT to drink. The bartender/waiter said they had no hot drinks. Tea? No. Coffee? No. WTF? A restaurant that doesn't serve coffee? Where were we? The food was good! We had a panini, a club sandwich and a burger. All came with fries and I was able to substitute sweet potato fries for the included fries...for a dollar more. After we finished eating, the waitress and two bartenders were involved in a heavy conversation at the bar. Since we wanted dessert, I got up and walked to the bar, interrupted their chat, and placed an order. The warm brownie with ice cream was yummy! Restaurant prices are higher and many of them are going out of business. Perhaps they could focus a little more on the customer? Drink menus to encourage customers to order those $16 drinks? Menus for everyone at the table so we can make our selections? I've been a waitress.... the idea is to encourage the customer to spend money. Maybe have some coffee available. Sheesh. We won't be back.

Yesterday I visited this place with my friends and I did not expect such an amazing service. We came at around 11 pm and after we ordered our food was ready in like 7 minutes! We loved our drinks and food. My friends were very pleased by barmen Eric, who provided a very professional and caring service. Amazing clean place with a warm atmosphere. We are definitely coming back! Thank you!

I love that they serve hard kumbucha and open til 2 am. Parking wasnt an issue as it wasnt a weekend i suppose. The bar is cozy and well stocked with accommodating bartenders. Two thumbs up!

Came here for some after work drinks and food. We had carne asada fries and sweet potato fries as appetizers and then I had the mushroom and truffle oil flat bread pizza. Everything was delicious! Since it was a Tuesday evening they also had live jazz. The front windows were open so we could enjoy the rain while we ate. The service was good as well!

Recently visited Tavern on Brand in Glendale, for lunch. After lunch, I received a check and paid and closed the bill and left gratuity as a cash payment for more than 18% on the table. Today I checked my card statement, and I see, they added 30% gratuity on my card after I closed my bill. So combined my cash payment and their extra charge on my card, total gratuity came up to almost 50%. It is not right!!!! You just lost a loyal customer.

I just had the best salad and pizza from Tavern On Brand. I ordered via Post Mates; wanted something not too heavy since it is kind of late. I ordered the Tavern House Salad and a flat bread pepperoni pizza. I ate half the salad and a slice of pizza and left the rest for my husband. Salad was large enough for two, everything was fresh and dressing excellent. Pizza a "winner". I will def order again from them or go in person. I definitely recommend this place.

I have revisited The Tavern a few times since posting a past less than stellar review (where I was forgotten) and now I must redeem myself. I like this bar because the front windows open up to fresh air and sunshine. There is always something pleasant about outdoor dining. I also like that Jacqui is still here, smiling, and rockin' the bar service! Pre-covid this place was a challenge to get a bar stool. Now thank God, they have the bar open! While I am sticking to my couple of drinks this eve, I have had their bacon wrapped shrimp, hummus platter (doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore), and tacos. The service is attentive and on game, and I am happy they are open to bar seating. Rant: It is sad to see the liberal CA government crush so many once vibrant businesses along the Brand strip, with covid opening delays. It is also sad that in a state with almost perfect weather, that open-air dining is not the norm (such as in Scottsdale, Miami, and the Gulf Coast cities). Rant over.

Such a great place to meet up with friends for any occasion! Staff are friendly and lots of options whether you want to drink alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks or eat. Love that you can sit inside or outside so we will definitely be back.

Paloma with Mezcal, very tasty, place is mellow very classy, good music, great appetizers calamari and 3 small burgers , French fries have a great flavor. Will definitely come back

Ambiance was great. Drinks were great. They had a singer that played the guitar and she was great. I would recommend this place to chill.

Skinny cucumber margarita with a side of sidecar :) Soooo refreshing on a hot day! Came for drinks before dinner reservations and everyone was very friendly!! The seating was outside near the street, but they did a great job with trees and unbrellas around for a nice ambience. We will be back for more!!!

My best place in LA. Very good kitchen and good vibes. Life music, and very team. Go you will really enjoy!! My friends and I really enjoy it!
