"The iconic St. Paul tavern has long been known for its walleye, served grilled, deep-fried or pan blackened, with an assortment of up-at-the-cabin sides like coleslaw or cottage cheese, all in a Northwoods setting." - Eater Staff

Nice place! We sat on the patio, enjoyed drinks and appetizers. The apps were hot and delicious and the service was good. Menu items are priced reasonably. I have been here back in the day when it was "Spankys" (I believe) Great memories, similar setup! Great neighborhood bar! We'll be back.

Great good specials and always good food. Thursday burger night with tots is my favorite night. Also their nachos are really good. Friendly staff. Fast service from my experience. Whenever I’m close by, I try to stop in.

Great laid back bar, with excellent steak kabobs.

Sunday Special Hot Chicago Beef is the best.

One of the best hole in the wall bars in St. Paul. Good crew of regulars, great bartenders and staff. The food is really good bar food. I recommend the A1 burger or the rice bowl (which was a pleasant surprise). A little out of the way but a fun late night spot in a secluded little neighborhood.

Nothing special, didn't like my experience here. I advise the employees to keep their mouths shut if they have nothing nice to say and don't go looking for trouble. Everybody deserves respect no matter who you are. This is a very basic principle of life. People certainly don't go out to be harassed, humiliated or made to feel they don't belong. I advise the management to watch their employees behavior carefully.

I went here to watch a local band perform. Sound quality was not the best but it had a wide open area for dancing. Plenty of seating for those of us that like to just sit around and relax. Very nice pool tables. Nice area upstairs that you could look down on the stage from. The roasted brussel sprouts were delicious! The Pretzel was pretty good. The drinks are perfect. The outside patio even in the cooler temperatures was fantastic. The fire pit gave it the perfect ambience. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for dinner or drink. Check out the local bands. I was there on a busy night so I did have to be patient for service. The server did not appear to be frazzled in the least even though he had a full place. The price we paid seemed rather inexpensive for the quality of the roasted brussel sprouts. I would highly recommend those if you like vegetables.

I went with my friends. My best friend's food was okay and her boyfriend was mildly satisfied with his. My Mac N Cheese was way overpriced for a dish that came out looking like a child's play-food and left a bad tasting waxy coating on the inside of my mouth. None of us finished our food. We only went to watch the game and if we go back it will probably be only for that reason as well.
